THE GANGSTERS… Clint, Cochise, and the men return home from Canada, looking forward to some much-needed rest and relaxation. But they soon discover there is no rest for the weary as they are immediately faced with another crisis—missing loved ones that seemed to have disappeared into thin air. With no leads and no idea if their loved ones are dead or alive, the gangsters are desperate to dig up a single clue—anything to set them in the right direction.

As the gangsters are about to lose hope, an unexpected lead takes them to the last place their loved ones were seen. With a reluctant witness and a forced confession, they are left with little to go on… until a group of strangers—in search of their own lost loved ones—provide another piece of the puzzle that ultimately leads the two clans to a place of hellish imaginations… and terrifying revelations.

THE BASE... After the unexpected, violent encounter with his arch-enemy Alexander Kane, Ardan MacNamara, the founder of The Base sanctuary for child prostitution victims, finally closes the door on his dark past. His honorary adoptive father, Fabian Bloom, who also suffered horrific physical, sexual and mental abuse at Kane's hands, no longer looks over his shoulder, enjoying his new life to the fullest.

But then, Ardan's three sons and their friends are kidnapped in broad daylight, only a few hundred yards away from The Base, and the two men's world collapses. Numerous search parties are organized and no stone is left unturned, but the kids are nowhere to be found. The evil force behind the kidnapping seems to be greater and more dangerous than anything Ardan and Fabian fought against.

Desperate situations require desperate measures and, for the first time, the two men search for help outside their circle of traditional allies. Even if they'll find it, Ardan and Fabian are aware that, this time, they may not make it out alive.

OMG!!!!!!!!

Grab onto something and hold on. This book is going to take you on some rough and bumpy roads. Family members have been taken from two families that don't even know the other exists. They will meet by the end of this book. Clint thinks it's to get even with him. Ardan believes someone is trying to draw him out. Is this a plan to devastate two powerful families or coincidence. Is it one lucky scumbag or a well orchestrated plan by a deceptive mastermind. I know justice is coming and it will be served. The wrong bears have been poked. I can't wait for the next book!!! These two Authors are a dastardly duo. This book is absolutely FANTASTIC. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!!

A deep and emotinal ride from start to finish!

All rights on picture and book is the authors.

(Reviewer Note: Spoiler-free review)
This book contains spoilers from previous books in the Phoenix Club and the Cowboy Gangster series from CJ Bishop and the Base series from H.M. Wolfe so if you haven't read any of their previous books I recommend you to start at the beginning that way you will understand the story of this book way more.
First of I want to congratulate both CJ Bishop and H.M. Wolfe for this co-writing book release!
In exchange for an honest review:
I have read so many books over the years and I have followed this series since the start and I can say for sure no other book has made me want to cry my eyes out while reading the first page of it. Clint and Axel have been on top of my list of Favorite characters since the start of the Cowboy Gangster series.

In this co-written book the world of the Cowboy Gangster by C.J. Bishop and the world of the Base series by H.M Wolfe the two series melt together into one as boys from both groups go suddenly missing. Clint and Cochise had just come home from their mission in Canada when they were told that Axel had traded himself in exchange for the missing girl and with him, Corey, Donald, and John have gone missing as well. Knowing what the kidnappers do to innocent children they are in a fight with time to find their boys. While the same disappearance starts happening to the boys of the Base as well the men are faced to look at a past they tried to forget in the face and to make a choice to start killing again if it means they will find their missing children and family.

In this first book, we don’t get to know much about what has happened to the missing people on both sides but only that something dark and twisted is most likely to happen if they aren’t found in time, and knowing what the kidnappers are willing to do to the children we don’t know yet where we stand if everyone will come back the same ever again or if everyone will come back alive. With the past of many of the characters is being ripped to the surface and wounds that only barely have started to heal are ripped open in full blow once again, everyone is faced with the dark hunt against time.

This book was so hard to read as there is telling about abuse towards minors so trigger warning for anyone that doesn’t have the stomach for it but still after reading all the earlier books in the story this is one you don’t want to miss as you get a deeper look into the characters on both side of the story and so far its a really good written book and I can’t wait to read the last part of this story when everything comes to a brutal ending one way or another. The question is will everyone come back again and will they manage to live with the after-effects of what they have gone through during their captivity once they are found.

This is a must-read for anyone that’s been following this series from the start as the Cowboy Gangster series is coming to an end for this chapter of the story in the next book.

OMFG!!! This is one hell of a fantastic, powerful, grab-you-by-the-feels, poignant, emotionally charged, fast paced, gritty, gripping, raw, amazing, wild, crazy, throw-you-for-a-loop, nail biting, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, dark, more twists and turns than a roller coaster, and totally awesome thriller. It pulled me in from the very first page, leaving me with a massive book hangover because I just could NOT put it down! I would DEFINITELY recommend getting this ASAP, and I can't wait to get my greedy hands on the next book in this incredible new series.

I like the crossover but why bring up Angel past after what he sacrifice for Maddy. I understand that Maddy wanted to help but any one with a little common sense would not put a innocent teenage in a situation like that. when you have Clint not one hundred percent And a other thing why now send them over sea when you give them very little clue to go by. IF you are going to used Maddy that way you should have give Clint more to go on other then South America. Clint was right when he said that every time Axel need him he is always to late to help him look what the first time he had to watch him get beat close to death by his own brother. that was a hard book to read and he still have the scars for a reminder of what happen to him Cory was there too so I say again why put Axel or any one of the children thought that again why not tell us who Julian father is and if he is going after Clint why take the kids when they had nothing to do with his past. yes I get it he is used them as Leverage to hurt Clint and Cochise what better way to sit back watch your enemy hurt. I do not have to like how the story is play out but I will wait to see what the next book bring I am hoping Axel phone have a clue for Clint I feel for Angel he sacrifice him self so his stepbrother did not hurt Maddy what will happen to him if Maddy get hurt all Angel give up would be for nothing . It is nice to see the phoenix boys again I can wait for the next book on the next generation I feel bad for Max now he have to worry about his son Maddy should of think about the people he is hurting by his action any way this is my POV on the book

I loved this book. I recommend reading The Base series by HM Wolfe and at least the regulators books by CJ Bishop so you have a better understanding of what's going on. The Gangsters (Clint, Cochise, and the men) get back from a mission when another crisis occurs their boys go missing without a trace. But where? Why? And most importantly Who?
After closing a door on a dark past Ardan MacNamara ( founder of The Base) along with his adopted Father Fabian Bloom things are looking less bleak. When suddenly Ardan's three sons are taken. Everyone at The Base is trying to find them. A evil has made the boys vanish. Can both groups come together to save the boys in time? This book is amazing. Both CJ Bishop and HM Wolfe created a masterpiece. I can not wait for book two.

Exciting crossover book.

I recommend reading the Base before getting into the Island. Having said that, this book is captivating. If you have read C J Bishop's Gangster series, you are familiar with how her characters operate. I had never read HM prior to finding the 2 would be doing a crossover story between their characters. I find it interesting that these 2 authors with such different writing styles can produce such an awesomely good story and not lose the reader along the way. I enjoyed this book so much. I look forward to seeing these families work together to accomplish the common goal of trying to end human trafficking.

I can't wait for the next book.

Amazing

Once again CJ Bishop has done it, although this time she has teamed up with another great writer H.M. Wolfe and her men from The Base. Emotional as ever ladies. I would give more than 5 stars if allowed!!! If you haven't read the Cowboy Gangster series or The Base they are a must read!!! Thank you for these outstanding, strong caring men! The world really needs men like them.

This mash-up of the Cowboy Gangster and The Base series is the cross-over I didn't know I needed. I was glued to my tablet as these two groups worked to find their missing kids, revisiting painful pasts in order to do so. I cannot wait to dive into the next book because I have the feeling that the black flag is about to be raised and no quarter will be given, their missing will be found no matter how much carnage they have to wade through.

*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*

Some kids are missing & it’s critical to find them as soon as possible.

Here some of our favorite characters are back, trying their best to work together to find some innocent kids before it’s too late. It's a roller coaster from beginning to end...

I got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This one is fast paced and does not let up. The story goes to some very dark places and I will admit to tearing up sometimes due to the intense emotions the characters show. This is a very well written book with plenty of characters to keep you enthralled til the very last page and beyond. Can’t wait for the next book.

CJ & HM bring their workds together.

I have always waited impatiently for CJ's books to arrive. I started reading HM's books based on a recommendation on CJ's facebook page. Both groups fighting child trafficking. Marvelous to have them join forces. Not so patiently waiting for next installment!

Oh my sweet goodness that was a book highly packed with emotion.
When your loved ones are kidnapped how far are you willing to go? The answer is you'll do everything even trying to infiltrate, but when that fails what are you going to do?
Our characters are extremely pained by the disappearance of their beloved and are trying very hard to find. Unfortunately they get from dead end to dead end and are starting to loose all hope. A small chance that a coincidence isn't just a coincidence takes our characters to meet with each other hopping they will find a lead.
Their encounter is extremely intriguing and interesting, they realise they have connection in common and decide to join forces to find their loved ones.
It was amazing to see how they coped with the suffering, how they try to remember the sweet moments between the chaos created, how they try to protect the ones they have and how they are willing to put themselves in danger to save a loved one.
This time a dangerous enemy comes to front that tries to destroy all the peace and happiness our characters achieved until now. He's very skilled and hard to trace. This story brings to front backstabbing, betrayal, hidden proposes, and so many plotting in the name of power and self gratification.
It was an adrenaline packed story that will keep you on the edge wanting to see what happens next and if our kidnapped characters will be rescued or not.
A very entertaining, thrilling story that will amaze you and wish for a happy ending.

My mind is blown. If you like HM Wolfe's The a base or CJ Bishop's Phoenix or Cowboy Gangster series, this book is a co-written book with characters from both.
Some of the kids from both groups are missing, it's critical that they share information and work together to get the children back. Where and to whom, will the trail lead. And, what will the do to accomplish the rescue.
I loved every minute. Can not wait for book 2.

Any fans of HM Wolfe or CJ Bisop are going to want to read this. It is definitely a thrill ride.
The children of both families are missing. Will the 2 group's work together. They are losing every thread of information they can find. What will they do.
I love both authors and this book was amazing. I can't wait to read the next book.

Oh my gawd. I just finished reading it and what a roller coaster of emotions. Kids have gone missing from both the Base and Gangsters series and it is a race against time to find them. This gave me a nail biting, sitting on the edge of my seat, crying feelings and I could not put this book down. By the end of the book, we are wondering if the Base and Gangsters will work together to find their missing boys. It ended with a cliff hanger and soooo looking forward to reading the next book. All I can say is well done and thank you for wring an amazing book.

Great read

As usual C J Bishop writes about these men and makes the reader want to keep on reading. This book is the first of the series that involves both writers and flows and grips just like any book written by CJ Bishop. The characters in this book are old favourites with a few new men coming into it. The intriguing way this book is written keeps you reading and definitely makes you await the next book with lots of questions still unanswered. These book has the makings of a very good series and I can't wait for the second book to be.released.

As a massive fan of cj bishop I was really looking forward to reading this book it starts where refuge book 3 in the regulators series finishes with clint and Cochise are on the hunt for there missing loved ones and are ready to tear the world apart to find them. There are a ton of new characters in this book so the base is a MUST read to be able to follow along with the plot. It’s an anxiety inducing, heartbreaking thrill ride from start to finish can’t wait to see what the next book brings

Who’s who again?

I love the Cowboy Gangster series, however I really had to concentrate on this one. I have a good memory but I struggled with the many different characters and scenes. Sometimes I found myself rereading sections, trying to piece the links together. I don’t know why, but I was exhausted when I finally finished. I would have given three stars but the series is usually great so I could make myself do it.

I never give a score this low.

I never give CJ Bishop this low of a score but I was completely lost with these other characters. I thought they we’re bringing in new characters to add on to this series did not realize these characters already had a storyline behind them. Definitely read the other books because I was lost with them.

Taken

When will they be able to have something normal. Clint and Cochise had just gotten back, when they learn that four young men in their family had been taken, including Axel. At the same time Arden and Fabian are dealing with the same thing, two of their boys are missing. Now the hunt is on.

I am so excited, I've been waiting for this book, this crossover, this collaboration between CJ Bishop and H.M Wolfe, and they did not disappoint.

It's riveting, pack with emotions (keep some Kleenex handy), it's fast pace (I think I had a bit of adrenaline rush reading this book...lol), angsty, pillow hugging, nail bitingly good. Excellent.
As soon as I finished a chapter I was eager to start the next.

Reading this book I couldn't keep still. I had to keep moving just like the characters. So much twist and turns, kind of like the Hulk at Disney. I more prefer these books to roller coasters.

Life was and is never easy for the men of The Base, neither for The Cowboy Gangster's family. They have to fight for others, for their families, for their love, for friends, for a home and to survive. Will there come a time when the fight ends, when they can hold their love ones close without having to worry about them being kidnap and the trauma they endure by people who have no morality or scruples?
...One day....

Awaiting book two in this crossover series. I'm itching at the bits....

I recommend you get caught up with the original series to get to know more about these three groups of men, survivors who make it their mission to help those who can't help themselves, to free them from monsters who pray on the young and helpless....
