He was my deepest revelation and my darkest secret.

Bad boys were never my thing, unless they existed within the pages of a book. Until Alex Moss came to my rescue like some sort of avenging angel. He saved my life, which is why I believed him when he told me the threat against my life was back, and only he could protect me. With his dark hair, golden eyes, and broad shoulders, the warlock was hard to resist. Yet even as his kisses made me crave more, there was something about him that frightened me. It wasn’t until I tasted his blood that I knew it wasn’t magic that brought us together, but fate. The warlock is MINE.

I saved her from a curse, only to get caught in her spell.

Kenya Darce was like no other vampire I’d ever met. Adorable, quirky, and sexy as hell, she turned me on with one look over the top of her black-rimmed glasses. But ever since the night I exorcised the spell from her body, we’ve had a connection between us. It was completely unexplainable, but it was there. And now the thing that tried to kill her is back, and I’m the only one with magic dark enough to fight for her. Forbidden to go near her, I couldn’t stay away.

Nothing and no one will keep me away from her.

L.E. Wilson writes Paranormal Romance starring intense alpha males and the women who are fearless enough to tame them—for the most part anyway. ;) In her novels you'll find smoking hot scenes, a touch of suspense, a bit of gore, and multifaceted characters, all working together to combine her lifelong obsession with the paranormal and her love of romance.

Her writing career came about the usual way: on a dare from her loving husband. Little did they know just one casual suggestion would open a box of worms (or words as the case may be) that would forever change their lives.

Lattes and music are a necessary part of her writing process, and sometimes you'll find her typing away at her favorite Starbucks. She walks two miles to get there, to make up for all of those coffees.

Kenya was cursed in the last book (and without giving too much away) was sort of saved by the Moss Witches Coven (Lizzy from Night of the Vampire book 1 helped her)
She’s back working in the club her “maker” Killian owns (it’s a male strip club) she’s not 100% there, but better than she was.

Someone or something is out there following her.... stalking her.... who? Or what?

Alex is obsessed with the vampire he saved, he doesn’t know why, he only knows there is a deep connection between them. And protecting her is his only concern.
But vampires and witches don’t mix. The pact forbids it (even though his cousin is now mated the the vampire leader!)

You’d probably need to read the first book to get the whole background on Kenya and Alex, there isn’t much, and to be honest most of it is repeated in this book (but you’ll want to read the first book anyway)

Alex has a secret! Does he know? His magic is darker than the rest of the coven. And his pull to the female vampire makes no sense, and then a plot twist comes along and it all a makes sense!!

Spending time with one another shouldn’t happen, but neither can stay away. And when Kenya is targeted, Alex is the one leading the charge, he doesn’t care that both Judy (his coven leader) and Killian (the vampire leader) have told him to leave her alone. He’s going to protect her.

Chemistry is stronger and hotter than the first book (I got the feeling Lizzy was always ready to bolt, and Killian had an entitlement problem) the connection way tighter too.
Lots of action and plenty of spicy moments.
The plot is also more involved (first book needs to set the stage as it were) we get that impending doom feeling.

So now we have the bad guy added into the plot, we have the reason why he’s doing this, and boy is it a good plot. It definitely blends with the first series, and I’m glad I’d read them all (but if you haven’t, then I don’t think you’ll miss too much)

So can Alex and Kenya really be together? How can they get past Judy and Killian? And now this new threat!! It’s going to tear both coven’s apart.....

Oh oh oh ..... and for fans that loved the first series there is a nice surprise waiting for you (I squealed when I read it)

Who’s next? And when can I read it?!

Love this follow up to Night of the Vampire! Alex and Kenya make a great couple... would love to learn more about Kenya especially now that Marcus has shed light on her background. An attraction that was a slow burn but ignites like a firework once the they act on it.... Alex is in a quandary about what to do and how to proceed mainly because of the witch/vampire agreement. Kenya is willing to back away to keep everyone safe however Alex is not so willing. In steps the evil that almost killed Kenya and Alex is the only one able to tell. That evil, Marcus, is actually looking for Marcus, drawing him out. Marcus, evil guy, is actually a djinn! He's in town to try and get the witches to come back to his coven so that he can get strong........out of left comes a group of witches and vampires who save the day. Marcus actually slips away (yes more stories!) and everyone acquaints themselves and learn about what Marcus is and who he is. The following stories should be interesting! There is a rat amongst the witches.... who is she???
Quick, fun read!

Alex Moss (warlock) and Kenya Darce (vampire) were a good pair. They both felt a strong attraction for each other, and Alex having previously saved Kenya’s life made him very appealing to her. Since the time he saved her, they could actually feel that unexplainable connection to each other.

Now he tells her the evil (Marcus) is back and she is again in danger. She knows she can trust Alex. As the forbidden romance heats up between them, she realizes he is actually hers. And afraid for her, he refuses to stay away under any circumstance, especially when he recognizes that Marcus is a djinn and only Alex’s magic is dark enough to fight against him to save her. Will they be ready to fight off Marcus’ attack? Will they realize his true purpose involves more than just Kenya? Grab your copy and see if Marcus can be defeated or if he succeeds in his devious plans!

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Secret of the Vampire by L. E. Wilson is the second book in the Into The Dark series. This series is an off-shoot of the Deathless Night series. I really enjoyed Kenya and Alex's story. We first meet these characters in book one as very strong secondary characters. This book did not disappoint. I recommend reading the books in series order to get the most enjoyment from the rads.

This is a well written paranormal romance continuing Alex and Kenya's story. The author once again brings a cast of strong characters centering around Alex and Kenya and weaves an exciting story filled with action ,suspense and mystery. The scenes are painted perfectly and the story moves fluidly. I enjoyed reading and am looking forward to more.

Can a vampire and a warlock overcome odds? With strict areas that only vampires and witches can go can they make it work? Will they explore the connection they have or just let it go? With an unknown danger and an unknown reason why what will happen? Will there be a happily ever after or will it end before it starts?

4.5 stars - Moss Witches, vampires, djinn, New Orleans, voodoo, dark magic.

Tons of story in this second book of the Deathless Night - Into the Dark series. Unlike the others, I don't think this book will read well unless you've read the previous series and book 1 of this extension set. There are a lot of characters to become familiar with and it might not make much sense without the background. OTOH, with that background it's a solid detail-packed addition to the Into The Dark set.

We finally meet the big-bad, the warlock who took over the Moss Witch coven and was the impetus behind the widespread exodus of the Moss Witches... spread to the winds and into hiding from... him. Evil.

Another mating is forming between the witches and vamps in New Orleans. Another set of twins is in play among the witches. And neither Killian nor Jude are quite willing to trust the other.

I've come to like these characters more than I would have expected from book 1. There's a tone change for me between book 1 and book 2 that helps, because all of a sudden the characters feel like adults rather than teens [to me]. But it took me a bit to get there, and the darkness in this Into The Dark set is deep. It won't be for everyone. By the finish I very much like Alex and Kenya, and things start to not feel completely dark. Although I doubt we're out of the dark for some time yet.

Alex knows from the moment he saves Kenya that she’s his forever but they’re on opposing sides and their clans won’t be happy if they find them together. But when family secrets from Alex’s past come to light that put Kenya’s life in danger, Alex will do whatever it takes to save her, even if that means sacrificing himself. Alex isn’t the only one trying to stop his uncle, but can the others get there in time or will Kenya lose the man who has stolen her heart?

This is pretty bad. No, not pretty. It’s garbage. Why is audible even charging money for something like this? I can’t even make it past 3 chapters. The narrators are horrendous and honestly the FC is pretty pathetic for a vampire. It’s so corny.

Day 67 of absolute trash garbage books. Not one book in new releases should be on audible for people to buy. Not sure what’s happening with audible lately but the quality of books have drastically changed over the past year. Literally 2024 has been some of the worst “authors” / books I’ve read in all my life. It’s wild.

Love this series ❤️

What a great series this is turning into . I'm so looking forward to reading more ☺️. The storyline is so good and keeps the reader wanting more . Vampires find their mates who are human witches who technically aren't allowed to be near each other unless there is an emergency they each keep to their own side of the fence, so to speak but when a evil Djin makes trouble all bets are off and the vampires and witches join together to stop his deadly attacks and in turn find their fated mates.

These almost feel like… half books. Like, I feel like I’m reading half of what is actually a very interesting/well-developed story. It’s just somehow missing 50%?

I don’t know. Again, the relationship development was actually pretty minimal. The plot had some complexity, but seemed to just kind of… skate over the surface. And it was a shockingly quick read. So, I’ll keep reading with the next one, for that reason if nothing else. And, I mean, I can’t say I DIDN’T enjoy the book… it just had novella vibes.

Excellent reading

Alex saved Kenya's life when she was dying from a dark magic spell. She's a vampire and he's a warlock but he's always known there was something else in him. He's drawn to Kenya but witches and vampires have an understanding in New Orleans. Basically they stay in their own territory. Something evil is after Kenya and Alex's darkness recognizes it. Can he save her and still claim her as his mate? Love this series.

If you know L.E. Wilson’s stories then you know that she writes about sexy vampires but in this story the vampire is a female Kenya Darce and the male is a warlock Alex Moss. Alex saves Kenya’s life and from there they share a deep connection and attraction but the evil that is after Kenya is back so can Alex keep Kenya safe especially when it’s forbidden for them to be together?!. Fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

Having read the Deathless Night series with Luukas and the rest of the vampires and their mates, it was like having old friends back again in Secret of the Vampire (Deathless Night - Into the Dark series). I loved the plot and meeting Alex and Kenya.. and as usual, I couldn't put my book down!

In the book before this one Kenya was deathly sick, which does not happen with vampires. Alex was able to use his magic and heal her. This is their story of what happens after.
