Pastor Adam has issued the burgeoning congregation of New Beginnings a challenge: It's time for boots on the ground.
It's time to go out into Carver Harbor and meet real people where they're really at. Some congregants are more comfortable with this new direction than others are. Rachel and Cathy are thrilled. Fiona and Chevon? Not so much.
Esther and gang will find their mettle tested as they come face-to-face with circumstances so difficult there seems to be no possible solution.
But with their God, the impossible becomes possible.
I fall more in love with this series with each new book. This one had me going through all the emotions, but coming out feeling better than ever.
In this book, the church decides to actively reach out to their community in a way they haven’t done before. The author skillfully gives us multiple, unique stories at once and then makes them all work together to create a complete and beautiful story. So many hard issues were addressed in this book, but again God showed up and worked through hearts and His people to change lives and give new beginnings. This was another completely satisfying read that left me in happy tears.
Working (New Beginnings Book 5), my eighteenth outstanding read from author Robin Merrill. I've read over 300 books so far this year and this series is among the very best of them. Outstanding Christian fiction, with well-written with characters & a plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Now I need to wait for Splitting (New Beginnings Book 6). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I am completely addicted to this entire series. The characters are very genuine and lovable, and the issues addressed are ones we who live in the real world come up against all the time. So many Christian books seem to sanitize the presentation, minimize the anguish of the problem, and/or rely upon romantic relationships as the only road to happiness 🙄, but these books do not go there! Uplifting, but not super-cheesy. The kind of books that actually give practical scenarios of people living out their faith, in a very unique and inspiring way. I am so glad I found these books, and this author!
I loved it couldn’t put it down. The author has really understood what Christianity is all about! Wonderful example of what it means to be a church not just go to church! Wish that many people would read it and follow suit … I loved to read again about the lovely people in this church and how they count on Jesus to help out even in the hardest situations and how they follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We need more of this !!!
I absolutely love this series of books where an unlikely cast of characters face head-on a multitude of wordly problems with grace, mercy and a smattering of laugh-out-loud-so -your-coworkers-think-you're-crazy humor. Robin Merrill is fast becoming my favorite author!
A pastor gives an assignment to the congregation to go to neighborhoods, knock on people's doors and ask if anyone has any needs to be met--to show God's love through action. An inspiring book about the people who take up the challenge and go out and serve the people in the community. An inspiring and uplifting book!
I’ve really enjoyed this series of books. The storylines were entertaining, inspiring, some even tense. However, this one was slow moving, just like God is sometimes.
These books are so inspirational and exciting. I don't know how to say enough good things about this series. I have read the first five books in less than two weeks and I only have one more to go. I love these people and I am going to miss them!
