I haven’t been able to get Jonathan out of my head for the last four years. He’s sexy. He’s dirty. He’s everything I want. He’s the reason I’ve avoided coming home for summer break. It’s not because I’m scared, or mistreated. It’s the opposite, actually. I’ve caught him doing unspeakable things to himself, things I can’t get out of my head. Things I would like to do to him myself. So, what’s stopping me? Well, it isn’t the fact he’s old enough to be my father. It’s the fact he’s dating my mom.
Coming home is inevitable, and I’m going to have to face him. It’s been four years, I can do this. I can handle one summer, right?
Sweet Girl is a very steamy MF, age gap novel. Some instances in this book may be considered taboo. Read at your own risk. There is adult content in this book and it is not meant for readers under the age of 18. This books ends with a HFN.
I mean the opening line is “I was 16 the first time I saw my stepdads cock.” That alone should tell you how this book is going to go.
It’s basically smut with a few sprinkles of plot. It’s a 21 year age gap and he’s technically not her stepdad but was engaged to her mom. Also note that the FMC does sleep with other men and the MMC gets off on watching her do it.
I struggled with the first half of this book. There's very little conversation between Charlie and her step dad which made it difficult to understand that there was a strong connection between them. There's also a lot of repetitions in the inner dialogue that slows the story.
The second half was much better, faster paced. I enjoyed that she was sexually active and dating other guys - a refreshing element that's quite unusual for this type of romance books.
A super fun & entirely too sexy to read in public! No...seriously, take my word for it. There are parts of this story that got way too HOT for public consumption! This is hands down one of the hottest books I've read all year and it's possibly all because of the way that Jonathan spoke and the things he said! Sometimes it's not necessarily the actions that drive us past that point of gratification but the way someone uses their voice. HOT DANG!!! I LOVED how Charlotte stood up to him and her feistiness. It made for some downright delicious scenes!
This one wasn't really a deep read, which made it a great choice for me right now while I'm taking a little break from the deep super emotional reads. I love forbidden romances almost as much as I love the emotional reads so this released at the perfect time!
Amazing! I love the complexity of the heroine and her relationships with those around her and I absolutely adore the MMC! It’s all really fast paced and the unconventional relationship is fun and enjoyable to follow along with. Overall, this was really well written and I will be reading more by this author.
So, I've never read anything by Quell before, but after this, I will definitely be checking out more of her books!
This was such an enjoyable read. Charlotte is a sexually confident college student who's been crushing on her stepdad for years. I loved everything about Charlotte. She's smart, confident and the games she plays with Jonathan are just insanely hot. Jonathan is a hot bar owner who's dating Charlottes mum. I enjoyed reading about their relationship and how everything evolved. I did think Charlottes mum was a bit mean to her, if and when you read the book you'll find out why.
My only issue and why I marked this down a star was I just wanted more. I want more Jonathan and Charlotte. And I'm hoping Quell may give us more in the future as I'd love to see what's in store for these two.
Sweet Girl is a hot steamy forbidden story that had me needing a cold shower! Charlotte is back for the summer and finding it still too hard to not look at her mothers fiancé with lust in her eyes. She thought by being away at college that things would have changed and all it did was miss him more. Charlotte and Jonathon's story is HOTT HOTT HOTT and I couldn't put it down. This may be my first book by Quell T. Fox, but it most certainly won't be the last!!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on an ARC of Sweet Girl and I am so glad that I did! This is a fairly short book but extremely well written. It is packed with a lot of spice from the very beginning. Johnathans is Charlottes kind of step-dad and the sexual tension between them is of the charts. Thoroughly recommend if you enjoy this genre!
This isn't my usual genre, or my usual trope-- but I am making my way through Quell's books, and I really like her as an author so I was excited to check this out.
I was not disapointed! The opening line made me wonder if I should be reading this in public, and my coworkers gave me the shifty eye at the lunch table when I told them what I was reading that made me literally go "Oh, okay..."
I wondered as I read this, if I should be concerned about myself because I didn't think I COULD like this type of book. I've read step-brother romances, and age gap romances before, but nothing I really liked or thought was good. Most of the ones I'd read before had dialogue that was cheesy or predictable, and the sex itself was pretty tame.
This is not that, for sure.
I love Jonathan's character, probably more than I liked Charlotte's but she was still interesting to read. The push/pull between these two given the mountain of circumstances that keep them from being together is equal parts wrong and right and keeps you guessing as to HOW this is going to end up-- in flames or in happily ever after? Just when I thought I knew where things were going, we turned a corner into something darker, and pushed the envelope just a little more, which I found highly entertaining. There was a lot of gasping, and "I knew it!" shouts, and lots of shady looks from my husband who was trying to take a nap.
This is a Step-Dad romance, so there are Daddy references, but it's not gratuitous or overused. Most people who know me know I can't stand hearing anyone saying this in a sexual way, because it normally creeps me out-- but I felt the instances in which it was used here was genuine and fitting to the story, and I was able to still enjoy the story regardless of my own personal taste.
Definitely recommend for anyone looking to try this genre, or anyone like me who thinks they can't like a book like this. You may be surprised!
Well, this is a convoluted mess. Charlotte Evans was 16 when she first saw her mother’s fiancé, Jonathan, "taking care" of himself as she watched through the window in the laundry room. She was fascinated, so continued watching and enjoying what she witnessed. That night, she explored herself for the first time, imaging she was with him. She always figured he didn’t know she was watching, so she relaxed and continued obsessing over him.
When she was 18, she left for college. Her thoughts were still on Jonathan. She has had a crush on her mother’s man for 4 years now. She finished freshman year and is coming home, worried and anxious about seeing Jonathan. When she doesn’t see her mom at the airport to pick her up, she is about to call when she spots him, even more handsome than ever. She had hoped he wasn’t the perfect man she had made up in her mind. But seeing him, he actually still was.
At home, she went to wash her sheets which were musty; her mom evidently forgot to change them since she had left for college! She was surprised when her mom, who had been called in to work, showed up and said they were all going to dinner. Why wasn’t she wearing her engagement ring? And why was there no small-talk at the table? They finished and went home, and Charlotte heard them arguing in the kitchen about her mom not taking time off to be with Charlotte. But she had known long ago her mom enjoys her freedom and loves her job. She was used to it. So Charlotte went online and hooked up with a guy from high school days. And Jonathan watched from the window as they drove away. He had already decided to tell her how he feels about her now that she is old enough. Did he wait too long to tell his soulmate the truth?
This is a quick read and an interesting storyline that had me keep flipping the pages to see what was next.
I'm not sure how I feel about the romance between Charlotte and Jonathan. Told from Charlotte's side, I found it appealing. Told from Jonathan's side, I was a little creeped out and it wasn't because of the taboo subject. The way Charlotte described Jonathan made him appear lust worthy, thoughtful and caring. I don't know... after he picked her up from the airport, those were not the characteristics I saw in Jonathan. He wasn't a bad guy. He cared about Charlotte's wellbeing WAY more than her mom. It's just (to me) his internal monologue sounded like a pedophile excited to groom a child than a steamy forbidden attraction. That's just my personal opinion of Jonathan. I will say that once he started thinking about her as an adult, I found I enjoyed their romance. But only the parts after he started referring to her in his head as a woman, not a child. I actually really liked her with Michael. Their time together was hot and I was interested to learn more.
If you like stepfather romances, you should check this out.
It's a very taboo story with a 19 year old lusting after her mom's boyfriend, so if that isn't something you enjoy reading, I recommend passing on it. The actual story starts a little slow for my liking. Charlotte spends most of her time being angsty and almost moping about liking Jonathan, but it makes sense because she is 19 and I can see how liking an almost step-dad might cause some person problems. I enjoyed how sex-positive Charlotte was! She was comfortable with her sexuality and had no qualms about it (apart from the whole liking her almost step-dad). I didn't understand the mom's part in the story. She just seemed like she was there to bring Charlotte home then proceeded to ignore her. That made Charlotte's inner monolog about her mom finding out seem unnecessary because her mom is never home! Anyway, it's an entertaining story and I liked Charlotte as a character.
The narrator does a fine job. I think her voices do sound a little the same at times. The two voices with distinction are Charlotte's and Jonathan's, which is more important comparatively. Though, I do like when all (or at least a majority) are somewhat unique.
Charlotte we learn straight away she has a crush on her step father. Jonathan had no idea she had feeling for him...Well so we thought AND there is a certain private moment that she saw him doing.. and she thought he didn't know....you have to find out if he knew about it!! Yes I am not spoiling it for you!!
I love that Jonathan thinks of Charlotte interest first. He told her mam" I know you have no time for me but think of your daughter" Her thinks of work full stop. He does care about her and her mam but who does he card about most...
Ahhh I was on the edge of my seat will they caught and how will this end...
This a age gap romance and a bit taboo. I will say this the age gap is not underage and taboo is step dad and daughter. I will say this he is not married to her mam. Oh there is a surprise to thos story to that I did not see coming especially about their relationship....no spoilers 😆
☆MUST READ ☆ Very hot and very very naughty romance
I'm giving "Sweet Girl" 3.5 stars. This story started pretty strong. There is a significant age gap which I like. It had a ton of spice throughout, which I like. But I didn't feel Jonathon's character (MMC) was developed well. I wasn't feeling how he and Charlotte got together. I thought the author didn't explain why Jonathon and Charlotte's mom's relationship was strained. Charlotte is 18 years old, and her immaturity shows through. Was that intentional? I don't know, and I'm not sure I liked it if it was.
I prefer a dual POV, but I did not feel like this was dual. There just wasn't enough of Jonathon's POV, and when there was - his thoughts and actions were not conveyed well. But, of course, it is only 167 pages, so you get what you get.
Nothing like a forbidden step-daddy romance to get the juices flowing. And this one was freaking hot and filled with so many forbidden pleasures. I was consumed, entertained and exploding with desire for Charlotte and Jonathan. I could not get enough of them.
The build up between Charlotte and Jonathan, to what was sure to be an explosive event, was intense and riddle with so much sexual desire that they had me ready to explode at any moment.
Charlotte and Jonathan’s steamy, lust filled, forbidden romance had me practicing my one-handed reading abilities.
Fantastic writing that consumes you, titillates you, and makes you tingle all over.
First of all, the number of grammatical errors and typos drove me nuts. The only way I got through the book was by editing them with notes when they came up. I didn’t start “editing” the typos/vocabulary errors until page 58, and there were somehow 32 by the end of the book! How can such a short book have that many errors?! Nothing takes me out of a story faster. I felt like I only continued reading for the sake of “fixing” the mistakes.
Example #1: A strong, warm body lies behind me, hair stroking my hair, face nuzzled in my neck.
Sorry, did you say his hair was stroking your hair???
Example #2: It’s nothing something I can do on a whim and expect everything to be okay.
Wtf is “nothing something?”
Example #3: He looks down at me, before bringing his face between his legs… And then he begins to devour me.
Yeah, I was real confused trying to figure out how his face was between his own legs in this scene.
The story itself was very surface level. Nothing was really delved into with any sort of depth. Even the parts that are supposed to be more emotional didn’t really hit home. The connection between the 2 MC’s is more told, not shown.
What?! I cannot put the right words together, it was that good! Just be a good girl and go read it! 03.21.2023: I started reading this a few weeks ago, and then my kindle freaked out and deleted it, then I had some lovely ladies help me recover it. I devoured this last night, and it did not disappoint.
Originally, I got it as a palate cleanser before reading a few ARCs I have lined up. What I did not expect to be honest was how quickly this book pulled me in and held me, hostage, until the last page. This was an amazing story filled with lust and forbidden romance. It is an age-gap/ step-dad/daughter relationship with taboo desires and a HEA.
I hand down would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a daddy-dom character, as well as age-gap romance.
Wow, this book is super steamy from the very beginning. It was to steamy for my personal preferences, but worth finishing. The steaminess did prevent me from fully connecting with the characters, lowering my rating to a 3. There were parts I enjoyed, was the banter between Charlotte and Jonathan. The storyline truly kept me guessing, I was not sure how everything would work out for this wrong but right relationship. The characters were well written, I enjoyed Charlotte's conversations with her best friend. This was a quick read and I recommend it, especially if you enjoy a very steamy read. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is my first read by Quell and holy $*^~. Once I started this, I couldn’t put it down - except for when I went to down the thermostat for the A/C because the story is just that hot. I loved the how Quell wrote this - Charlotte is confident, open, and knows what she wants. Jonathan is her perfect match with his unexpected kinks, possessiveness, and love. These two together are beyond hot. I loved the build up between the two of them and how the story developed with just the right amount of drama to have me biting my lip and hoping for the best. I, seriously, didn’t want this story to end! I will definitely be reading more of Quell’s works in the future.
Wow! This was definitely one of the most interesting things I have read in a long time This is the first time I have read a step dad book and I am for it. I thought I wasn't going to but I really did.
I couldn't stand Charlotte's mother and every time she said something it just made me mad but didn't deter me from the book.
This one deals with an age gap and step dad so if it not your thing I don't recommend but if you don't mind that I definitely recommend it.
I listen to the audio book and read along the book is different than the audio. More in the audio version these just adds to the story and gives a little more detail to the scenes.
My first stepdad read and I was nervous. As someone with a stepdad (so eww) and as someone who doesn't have a daddy kink, I wasn't sure how into it I would be. But I really enjoyed it. It was a different approach to an age gap relationship than I've read before which I liked. My biggest disappointment was that the final scene didn't play out, but was left to my imagination.
**Edit: so, I wrote that review when I first read this book. This book was a gateway drug. Now I read all the forbidden, taboo ones out there. Stepdad? That's probably some of the tamest. 🤣 This book took my "taboo" virginity- but at least it was a sweet and gentle first time 😘
I’ve been given an Arc for an honest review. I’ve read 16 chapters and there hasn’t been any dialogue between them, nothing. He just tells her at some point and out of the blue that he will punish her and sticks his fingers in her. And that he owns her. And what mummy doesn’t... Wauwwww what a way to start a relationship of any kind.... I prefer some dialogue and interaction between the main characters, nothing. And because of that I couldn’t be bothered to get to know them. I’m not even gonna finish the book.
Shoo wee this book is HOT AF! First book by Quell T. Fox and damn I am wondering where she has been all my life. Definitely checking out her other books. I don’t normally do ‘Daddy’ books but in this case I’m am full steam ahead. This book needs some warnings like NSFW. Don’t have someone looking over your shoulder and dear gawd don’t let the audio come on to read to you in public. This has definitely been one of the hottest books I’ve read! So yeah, I am definitely suggesting this book but be prepared to take a cold shower or work out your bundles of nerves. 😜🔥🤤🔥
Charlotte has wanted her step-father since he came into her life at 16. But that was her mother's fiance and couldn't happen. Now, a few years later she's back on break from college, and she still wants him. But he wants her too and he will make her his no matter what.
This book had me from start to finish. What makes this book so good, is that Jonathon doesn't try to pretend he doesn't want Charlotte or that it's wrong since he was engaged to her mother. He owns it, and once Charlotte finally learns his intentions, the steam really starts. I wanted more of this book and was so disappointed it had to end!
HOLY MOLY! Sweet Girl is so steamy, you’ll need a cold shower after reading this forbidden age gap romance.
Charlotte has wanted her mother’s fiancé since she met him at 16. After catching him in a private moment, she’s can’t help but fantasize about him. Going away to college was her bid to forget Jonathan. Coming home on break and seeing him again, only emphasized her desire.
This is kinky and all kinds of yummy. Jonathan and Charlotte set my kindle on fire. I definitely recommend if your in the mood for some forbidden heat.
So that was not what I was expecting. Not that I really knew what to expect, but this definitely wasn't it. It was more.
Conceptually I can see how it could be a little awkward. There were parts that had me a little...uneasy but not irrevocably so. I think the characters were great, even though there wasn't a ton to them as this is a short book, they had depth and value to the story.
I'm slightly confused on the HFN aspect, this seems like a cut and dry HEA to me. I was pleased with the outcome. All in all this was a great read!
Other than the cover of the book not being old enough to represent Johnathan, in my opinion, though yes the book cover is attractive. I am still giving this novella five stars. Charlotte could have had any guy on campus but in her mind, she sees them as boys. We find out she likes her men a little older, a little out of her reach, and a little dangerous. John married the wrong woman and though the hush hush scenes are hot hot, I am betting Christmas dinner will be a little awkward from here on out. Do not read this if you easily get offended by taboo subjects and borderline ero t ic a
This was a quick and HOT AF read!!! Charlotte and Jonathan are sexy as hell together. They have great chemistry and their banter back and forth I loved. This was my first read from this author and I can definitely say it won’t be my last. I have truly been missing out. I am all about some Daddy books and this was hit the spot! I will recommend this to everyone.. Be prepared to be all kinds of hot and bothered while you read this one *wink*
