An office worker finds herself as Lecian Husernan in a common reincarnation fantasy tale. Hoping not to have to go through a miserable life and rebirth portion, she tries to annul her marriage to the crown prince, stop the Marquis's plans for rebellion, and discover the origin of her birth. Lecian gets a bit distracted when she falls in love with Duke Kernian but her main goals remain the same. * * * * *----------* * * * * ----------* * * * * The plot her is a fine mix of the usual tropes. There are secrets, snark, and fluffy blushing moments. However, the English translation is not really serviceable and the artwork is weak for modern entries. Given how many other options there are for the genre, I'd skip this one.

The plot is cliche and most of the scenes are already predictable. However, the female lead in this story and the other characters are smart enough to concoct a plan against the villains. I like how badass and smart the female lead is that the male characters in this manhwa seem to exist in this manhwa as decorations. I dislike how the art changes multiple times and the characters are not drawn consistently. The ending of this manhwa was also rushed.

I liked it a lot, although I wish the ending was not so rushed. I am very happy that the marquess and his entire family was either imprisoned, maimed, or executed. I really don't want the actual enemies of the MC to be redeemed. I am bloodthirsty, I want the enemies crushed and to die a miserable death. No forgiveness!
El inicio fue bueno, aunque no era algo novedoso (ya existen muchos más iguales). El desenlace fue un poco apresurado y el final definitivamente fue a las carreras, y sin mucha coherencia en algunos puntos.
Really enjoyed that the Prince-fiancé was willing to back down and dissolve the engagement (or rather, attempt the process) when his best friend admits to his feelings AND is willing to change his opinion on Lesian! A fresh take! Character growth!
Unlike the previous Villainess manhwa that I’ve read, I am not a big fan of The Reason She Lives as a Villainess’ art. It was good but it just feels weird for me. Considering that I finished this manhwa, I think that didn’t hinder my overall reading experience, *wink.
Just like your typical Villainess story, this manhwa’s MC transmigrated as one of the characters to a novel she once read when she’s still alive. Before she transmigrated, she’s a martial artist/business woman and died because of truck-kun. The character that she transmigrated into is both the FL and the villainess but her life isn’t that great and she’s also destined to die a horrible death first before achieving her happy ending.
Since she knows how the story goes, the first thing she needs to do is to survive. Instead of accepting her character’s fate, she decided not to follow it and instead work hard to achieve happiness without the need of dying first. While living as Lecian (her novel character name), she shows off how badass she is. Lecian grew up abused by her so-called family thus the reason for her becoming a villainess just to get her family’s attention. Since our MC knew the story, the moment she woke up as Lecian, she showed everyone that they don’t have the right to hurt and disrespect her again.
After that, we also got to see her j*rkward fiance. It was really annoying to read about him, so it’s a good thing it didn’t drag that long. The introduction of the ML also happened early, and I love seeing his attention to MC. Now that she’s living as Lecian, MC here shows off a bit of a cold personality, and a person who doesn’t easily trust and much more likely to love someone easily. So I was really surprised how early she accepted ML’s feelings. But oh well, it’s better than having annoying drama don’t you think, hehehe.
After the confession, the couple were sometimes extremely sweet to each other that I almost want to drop this story, lol. But luckily I decided to continue because the villains’ demise was very satisfactory to read. Also, the information on what happened on the first timeline (the first life of Lecian in the novel) and some intriguing news about some characters’ true relationship was quite a surprise since even the MC didn’t know. After learning about everything, and what’s the motivation of the villains, I can’t help but feel bad for them. But then again, this won’t justify how that trash “father” blamed the kid for her mother’s sins.
The reason She Lives as a Villainess is not one of my favorites, but it was still a pretty good read overall. Plus, the ending of the villains was very satisfying to read.
