After Mike The Don’s arrest, he takes a plea—all to save his youngest son. Nate doesn’t regret avenging his mother’s death, but it pains him that his father took the rap. With their father gone, Nate and his siblings dive deep into the game, and the money is good. The eldest son, Junior, does what he can to keep their family together, all while taking orders from their grandfather, Carl, who had become the patriarch. After his early release from prison, Carl has work to do. He plans to become rich and powerful, and nothing will stop him. He takes over The Family and gives the siblings a taste of what it means to be paid and powerful. The Pedrozas, one of the main distributors of drugs in the Midwest, is his new supplier. The plug comes at a cost, and if Carl doesn’t keep his end of the deal, it could mean his family’s demise. Cain has infiltrated The Family by stealing Treasure’s heart and gaining her family's confidence by being a prosperous hustler. His mission is to devastate ‘The Don’ by hurting his daughter, knowing that Treasure is his everything. Now that The Family has embraced Cain, he realizes that if he plays his cards right, he could get rich from his enemies. Twist, turns, backstabbing, and love all come together in the second installment of The Family. The readers will learn that there is not only one but two enemies within.
Noooo, you need to hurry up with part three! I need to know what will happen to Shalanda when Ham finds out she is cheating on him! I wonder who the guy is she’s cheating with! Carl is a snake! I hope a loop hole is found out so Mike can get home to his children!
this series is remarkable, compelling and riveting
Author Richardson, you are a very talented and creative writer. I’m so into this book, I can hardly sleep bc I’m trying to read all day and night bc it’s just too hard to put down. Your storyline is incredible. The characters are so well defined and developed. I can actually imagine each and every one of them in my mind as I read. I just love Mike and his kids, he raised them well and with wisdom, knowledge, values and standards. I truly grieve for Anthony bc he wasn’t a bad person and the way they did him was inhumane. Carl is the devil himself. I really feel bad for Ham and Tone, 2 good men who deserve good women not the gold digger hood rats, they’re so in love with. I hope Junior find a woman to love close to his age.
This book is just a series of incomplete short stories. I did not like the main character Carl. I did like Junior , Nat and Yolanda. Hence, the 2 stars. All of the chapters were about a different story but up until the end there was no ending to any of them. The ending was really bad. I kept trying to turn the page thinking there was more but there wasn't. I will not be reading another boom in this series.
I don't know where to start. Sylvia was snake. Carl is a old ass mess, he's gonna get the whole family killed. Cain is crazy. Shalanda has messed up bigtime. Junior is a stand up guy. Nate is coming into his self he still needs molding. Treasure gonna prove herself . I hope Yolanda stay true to Nate
