New novella based on #1 New York Times author, Catherine Coulter's bestselling Sherbrooke Bride series
Barnaby should have been killed but he wasn’t. He was left on the steps of the church, supposedly an orphan. A decade later, Grayson Sherbrooke discovers the identity of Barnaby’s father, but their reunion is fraught with danger from an old evil.
The Red Witch of Ravenstone Folly: 4-Stars Barnaby was abandoned as a baby 10 years ago on the steps of the local church. The Wolffe family took him in, and the great granddaughter, P.C., took a liking to him and declared him her future husband. When Grayson Sherbrooke discovers who Barnaby's parents are, he endeavors to return the child, but an ancient evil lurks at Ravenstone and Barnaby may not be safe there.
Cozy but not ... interesting? The book starts with the lost child already found. Then he sees a ghost, and all they have to do to get rid of her is find a book that conveniently tells them who she is and then move from their ancestral home? This was tagged as a romance at my library, but there were only two relationships that could have been labeled as more than friends/family: the lord engaged to his dead wife's sister because she looks like the dead wife and he wants an heir, and the two very young children everyone keeps joking will marry each other (ew).
I also thought while reading that this must be written by a man because of the weird ways the author kept referring to boobs.

In this volume, we find Grayson with the children and Miranda heading to Ravenstone. Barnaby may just in fact in Brady Cox, son of George Edward Cox, eight Baron Worsley.
Wherever Grayson goes, he's sure to encounter some otherworldy business. And in this case he comes face to face with the Red Witch! She has some sinister plans for Brady.
Not to fear, Grayson is on the case and all turns out well!
Grayson learns of Barnaby's mysterious antecedents and helps to reunite him with his father. However, this incurs the wrath of the Red Witch who is determined to prevent father and son from reuniting. How Grayson (with the help of Miranda, Pip, P.C., and Barnaby) thwarts the Red Witch is the crux of this novella. Looking forward to reading the next two novellas in this fun-to-read otherworldly, mystery/romance series.
Catherine Coulter is a talented writer with a good eye for detail and a marvelous imagination. I particularly like the way she structures conversations between her characters. This novella was enjoyable to read and an excellent escape from a fraught world.
Ten years ago, a baby was stolen and never found. Now Grayson, who knows the boy and with some help from a centuries old witch, is able to reunite the boy with his father. But The Red Witch, who still resides at Ravenstone is not happy, and she is determined to get rid of both the boy and Grayson.
Grayson has brought Brady home to his father. Miranda, P.C. and Pip with them. Brady's father George is so glad to see him. He had been searching for him for ten years. Now Grayson feels a presence in there home. Something he can't explain. When this presence tries to kill Brady, they have no choice but to try to stop who ever is behind this.
As usual with Catherine Coulter - a little adventure, a little witchy/ghosty going ons, a little mayhew and some romance thrown in for good measure. This addition to Grayson's adventure is a welcome treat. Read them all - can't go wrong!
Excellent series. Grayson adventures once again ware a delight with masterful story telling and interesting characters. Although these stories are short (less than 100 pages) they witty and insightful. Great read!
Good read. So different from the original Sherbrooke stories which I enjoyed immensely. I liked these characters and the plot. Looking forward to read more from this author.
