"Pitched" is the story of GG and Colt.
A sweet insta love romance between a baseball player and the new girl at school. He is a hardworking man, trying to be successful so he can escape the hell he has grown up in- she is the sweet girl who's just been rescued from traumatizing cult. He has vowed not to let woman distract him, until one look at the heroine, and he is taken. After some grumpy encounters, they fall in and make love, some drama ensues and the book ends in a HEA.
I do not usually like YA smut but this was well done.

If i want to read totally safe hot romantic very sweet possessive alpha male hero, I always go for this author Ella Goode. It's my safe place romance, it's fun and romantic and all good. No unnecessary childish drama. The characters is always fun to read, many cute moments between the couple, and the story is good too and the chemistry wow it's very romantic for me to keep reading it again and again.... I'm addicting to her books. I repeat. Addicted for sure since 2018.
After reading pretty sucks authors lately and get down about it, I always look for Ella Goode books.

Cute quick high school read with innocent naive h and a jealous possessive H. She’s escaped from a cult, so she’s been incredibly sheltered. He’s a star pitcher with professional baseball in his future. Its instalove. He’s goes into full bulldozer immediately. These dual virgins get down and dirty pretty quick. It’s fluffy and hot, and completely the hit spot. 😏

Para Colt no hay más en la vida que el béisbol y cuidar de su familia. Nada más le interesa porque todo es una distracción en su camino a las ligas mayores. Eso es hasta que conoce a Georgia. No es la primera vez que ve a una chica, pero lo que le hace sentir ella no lo ha sentido jamás. Ella es suya, para amarla, cuidarla y sobre todo protegerla.
Awwwww que monada de libro 😍. Me ha encantado porque casi me recordó a una versión light de No soy yo de Tillie Cole. Me refiero a una versión muy muy light y diferente obvio pero bueno yo me entiendo, no quiero explicar mucho porque siendo un libro corto con un poco que os cuente os he contado todo... Jajajajaja.
Me ha gustado mucho a pesar de que la personalidad de Georgia es un poco incongruente, es inocente y dos segundos después es una entendida en sexo... Sin sentido pero bueno, que es una historia corta! Tampoco se le puede pedir milagritos jajajaja está muy bien para pasar el rato, la recomiendo sin duda!

Pitched de Ella Goode Serie Baseball Blues libro 1
Argumento:
Coltrane Broussard tiene el ojo puesto en un premio. Con un brazo de cohete, planea salir de la pobreza y llegar a las grandes ligas. Además de su familia y el béisbol, nada merece su tiempo ni su atención. ¿Las fiestas? No le interesan.
¿Drogas? Una distracción tonta ¿Chicas? Aún peor. Con un récord de victorias a mano y un equipo fantástico detrás de él, Colt se lanza a la victoria hasta que conoce a Georgia. Esta preciosa chica podría ser su perdición.
¿Podrá Colt encontrar la manera de ganar tanto el juego como la chica? ¿O volverá el pasado secreto de Georgia para acabar con todos ellos?
Mí humilde opinión:
Una linda historia de insta amor juvenil con un héroe posesivo exagerado que siempre trae E.G y una heroína dulce aunque atrevida.
La trama con el culto, la chica rescatada, el FBI, el loco profeta suelto y el baseball añadido a la mezcla era algo demasiado mucho, poco probable? Puede ser pero le añadió algo de peligro y suspenso al final.
Al comienzo Colt me pareció un matón, la forma en que la trató y la hizo llorar al principio no me gustó.
Por otro lado Georgia me pareció poco leal con su nueva amiga. Los sentimientos no eran recíprocos entre Trisha y Colt pero sabía que él le gustaba. Entonces, si no quería herir a su amiga, no debería haber salido con él, dijo que no quería sentir que la traiciona pero de alguna forma lo hizo, ella debería haber hablado del tema antes para respetar los los códigos con la amiga no?
Pensamiento aparte...
Qué pasaba con estos chicos de secundaria que solo pensaban en strippers!? Eran tipos leales con Colt pero unos cerdos en cuanto a mujeres.
Colt y Georgia eran dulce fuego juntos, a pesar del comienzo a tropezones, disfruté su historia. Adoré el epílogo de años después, todavía suspiro.

Colt lives and breaths baseball. He had no time for anything else. Looking after his little brother and dealing with and a mother who loves to drink more than look after her kids he knows baseball is his way out.
But when the new girl arrives at school, pitching a baseball is the last thing the guys thinking about.
If your after a possession athlete who knows how to back up his filthy mouth than look no more.
It’s a yes from me.

I loved this story and I thought it was one of the better baseball stories I’d read until the following passage:
“As far as I know, Brandon Belt set the record for sixteen foul balls in 1988. Cal would know for sure. The pitcher was Bartolo Colon, a right-hander, from the Dominican Republic. They called him the Big Sexy. He pitched to Belt 20 times and on the 21st, Belt sent a line drive into right field.” I shake my head. “Poor Colon. He lost that duel.”
For diehard baseball fans, this is simply ridiculous. Brandon Belt does hold this record, but he was born in 1988 (and Bartolo Colon was only 15 then, too). Belt’s record for longest at bat occurred in 2018 and it happened against a different pitcher (Jaime Barria), with the outcome being the exact opposite of what’s stated in the story: a fly ball to right field for an out.
I know most readers won’t catch this inconsistency, but for those of us who follow baseball with a passion, this makes the hero, Colt, appear ridiculous, which lowered my rating by a star. Still, having read many romance novellas with a baseball setting, I did feel this was one of the better ones overall, and I liked the unique characters, as well.

For diehard baseball fans, this is simply ridiculous. Brandon Belt does hold this record, but he was born in 1988 (and Bartolo Colon was only 15 then, too). Belt’s record for longest at bat occurred in 2018 and it happened against a different pitcher (Jaime Barria), with the outcome being the exact opposite of what’s stated in the story: a fly ball to right field for an out.
I know most readers won’t catch this inconsistency, but for those of us who follow baseball with a passion, this makes the hero, Colt, appear ridiculous, which lowered my rating by a star. Still, having read many romance novellas with a baseball setting, I did feel this was one of the better ones overall, and I liked the unique characters, as well.

This is it for me. She’s it for me.
I always love an Ella Goode dual virgin story. Even though I was hooked from the beginning, this one started off a little rough for me. The h/H didn't meet until about 24% and when they did, he came off as a total douche and made her cry due to a misunderstanding. I was waiting for an apology from him for that but it never came. Possible triggers: There was no real on page abuse but talk about h getting beat by her mom and the H's mom was an alcoholic. Lots of talk about the team getting strippers for rewards but H said he never did partake in those activities. Not really looking forward to any other team members stories because they all seemed like pigs. They we're all fantastic as teammates and had each other's backs when it counted though. Maybe Lucas could have a story since he seemed hung up on someone and also seemed like he didn't partake in any stripper/partying activities. Epilogue at 5 years.

The only reason Pitched isn’t 5-stars is because of the Hero’s, Colt, behaviour when he first met the Heroine, GG, and I wanted a more involved epilogue.
To expand on Colt’s behaviour, he was the typically OTT alpha Hero but given GG’s past, it came across as quite jarring and sketchy. Also, I really didn’t appreciate how his possessiveness resulted in her being treated like an outcast — it suggested Colt wasn’t really concerned with GG’s feelings. However, GG calls Colt out and he apologizes and makes up for his repeated blunders.
The romance was really cute and the plot was compelling with the loose ends and threats from GG’s past.

What a good combination of themes. Baseball? Yes. Obsessed love and fun encounters? Absolutely!
Georgia and Colt are a lovely couple. She is new to the school and naïve in many ways, and he has family issues and no time for anything but baseball and the future. They're in for a big, hot surprise when they meet :-D
Lots of misunderstandings, sensual anticipation, and a sharp contrast in lifestyles. The sweet heroine is a survivor. She's been sheltered from normal life since childhood, but not from the evil of human nature. This in turn prompts funny situations with language and day-to-day situations, though ultimately gives the hero a chance to prove his utter devotion to her.
I really liked how committed he is to his family and a better future, and suddenly he becomes obsessed with the new girl and clumsily claims her until they clear things up and start an adorable romance. There's also a very engaging situation regarding the heroine's turbulent past that comes knocking on their relationship's door in dramatic ways. Good story.

This is a beautiful, sweet, insta attractions sports young adult romance. Both have been through so much, having to grow up so quickly. When Gg moves in with her grandparents she needs to rebuild her life and learn how to live a teenagers life. I couldn’t put it down from the moment I opened the page. Ella just knows how to make you stay glued to your seat. I love the chemistry between gg and Colt and how they both didn’t know what to expect and how to control their feelings. The quick build of feelings. I swooned and loved how overly obsessed Colt was with gg and how protective he was of her. This book has all the feels you need in a short romance and I hope she writes the other characters books. This book honestly brings me back to the reason why I fell in love with Ellas writing.

I loved colt and Georgia’s story. Both of them having had troubled childhoods and both overcoming. GG was a tough girl, able to be strong and move on with her life. I enjoyed seeing Colt fall all over himself for GG. Hot steamy story. Thanks again!!

I didn’t like the insta love. I feel like this book would have been much better if there was more time to develop the romance. I feel like that novella format didn’t allow for this at all. I think the premise and the plot was interesting, but again it could definitely have been explored more.

On her first day, Tricia was the only person that had befriend her in school. They were assigned lab partners and Tricia announced that she was taking the new girl.

“Agent Green said they think Jerima and my mom might try and find me. A few things have come to light recently that suggest that the reason his first wife hated me so much was because Jerima divorced her to marry me legally. She was the whistleblower.
When her dad died he left her insurance money. He had a policy for her mother and one for GG. Her mother got a lot buts probably all gone. But GG’s is still left and her mother cannot touch it, neither can GG until she turns eighteen. One million dollars. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around that.

Colt lives for baseball, it’s everything to him, a way to help his family, a way to make a future for himself. All that changes when he sees Georgia (GG) for the first time. He is stunned by his reaction to her, he never dates or reacts to a girl. Which causes him to say hurtful things to he and be mean, making her cry. GG has had a very hard childhood, once her dad dies her mother moves them into a cult. She endured hardships, beatings from her mother, and she was to be married to the prophet when she turned 18. Thankfully law enforcement raids the compound and she is saved. Her mother and the prophet escape custody. She moves in with her grandparents who love her very much and help her adjust to a normal teenage life. She makes one friend in school,turns out she likes Colt and now is mean to GG too. But she wins her back with basic kindness and friendship. Once Colt gets his head out of his ass, they start dating. They are cute together, dual virgins. GG finally tells him about the cult she was rescued from. Drama when her mother and the prophet kidnap her. Loved how the whole team left in the middle of the game to go rescue her. That was all I loved about his teammates, they were real sexist pigs. The one players dad gifted them strippers whenever they won big. Colt never joined those events. The FBI who was tracking the prophet also arrives to rescue GG. Epilogue with Colt getting drafted to the Yankees and them married and expecting their first child.

There's a crazy cult, a terrible mother, and a promised marriage in the background. Don't worry - this is a safe story, and all works out in the end with nobody hurt. Well, not the good guys, anyway. Not really.
Commentary: Ella Goode's heroes are usually not so jerky, but I excused it here because Colt was so naive when it came to girls, and it didn't last long. I do wish there had been more of an apology, especially for making everyone stay away from her when she needed friends. Understandably, though, Colt's world has been turned upside down; he needs to get into professional sports to support his mom and brother (although his brother, while a normal teenager, could step up too). Georgia's world has been in turmoil for a while also, and it's only the fact that her grandparents are there to ground her that saves her from crashing.
