The Book Was Great, The Language, Not
First off, let me start with the fact that Swift is IOS ONLY . That means, that I can't even develop with Swift on my Windows machine.
You can develop Android apps on almost any ecosystem (Windows, Linux, even IOS/MAC), but when it goes the other way around, you are unable.
So I couldn't even code a single example from this book.
I think that is pretty platphobic of Apple.
The book did a great job of describing Swift, but I couldn't do anything with it, so yeah.
