Two wounded and wary hearts. Both wanting what the other can help them attain if only they can get past the pain of their pasts.
Twenty-three year old Noah Murray, is not interested in his boss’s plan to see all the cowboys of Circle A happily married. But the boss sweetens the plan by offering him the piece of land he has always admired. A home almost like the one he lost when his widowed mother remarried and his step-father kicked him and Adam off the place. His dream of following in his father’s footsteps still lives at least as far as owning a bit of land but not the part about sharing it with a woman he loves. He will never trust a woman again. Not after what his mother did and what he has seen of other women.
Lainie Ellis has the responsibility of her two young siblings and the task of fulfilling her father’s wishes to buy land in the west. To her shock, she discovers the land she bought is not for sale and does not have the promised house on it. She is a squatter. She has learned the folly of trusting a man to say or do the right thing. She is determined to make it on her own.
Can two disillusioned, heart-weary people find the love they secretly yearn for or will their past experiences continue to drive them apart?
Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.
Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and eventually a non-fiction book about tuberculosis set in the 1930s and 1940s (Touched By The White Plague). But romance had always been her first love and she turned to writing love stories. She is multi-published in the CBA market.
She lives on a small ranch in Alberta, Canada, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren.
This is a sweet love story. Noah carried much sorrow and mistrust from him and his brother being asked to leave his mother and fathers home after his pa died and his mother married again too soon afterward. Lainie also carried much sorrow due to her fathers death. She took on the role of guardian of her younger brother and sister as caretaker after their parents died. She spend what money she received after their deaths, to a shister that promised her land and a house. Only to discover it wasn’t his to sell and the property was owned by someone else and there was no home built there as promised. Noah was scouting the Circle A’s ranch and discovers them squatting there telling them they must leave! Lainie refuses saying she owned the property. A terrible storm rolls through causing Lainie badly injured. Noah discovers her badly hurt and the children alone. He takes them all to John and Maude’s home. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
Linda Ford has brought us another wonderful story in the Circle A Cowboys series; misfits taken in by Maude and John to learn to work as well as how to live. This is Noah Murray and Lainie Ellis' story. Both Noah and Lainie had experienced heartache, rejection, mistrust and disillusionment. Despite Maude and John's wishes that all the cowboys find a wife, Noah vows never to marry after the way his mother treated him when she remarried. Lainie discovered she had been deceived regarding the land she thought she bought but found out it was all a lie. When Noah and Lainie meet and Noah sets out to attempt to help Lainie will they be able to let the past go and look to the future and a possible HEA? Be sure to read this wonderful book to find out; I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Sweet story of a young lady who is now orphaned with her eight year old sister and 12 year old brother. Lainie has decided it’s just her and her siblings. She doesn’t need a man telling her what to do. Through an unfortunate mistake, she is now a squatter on the Circle A Ranch, and Noah is the one who discovers them.
Noah has closed his heart to love due to his mother tossing him and Adam out when she remarried. When he comes upon Lainie, the walls surrounding his heart come crumbling down.
Loved the romance between these two when they both finally shed their stubbornness. ❤️
This has been my favorite book in the series so far. Each story in this series just gets better, and it’s nice that the characters from the previous stories are still included and part of the current story. I love that the author provides us with quotes from the Bible that we can use in our daily lives, although the book is in no way preachy. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. At one point I thought it should be called Lainie’s Story, but in the end it really was about Noah and the love he found with Laine healing his broken memories.
Both parents had died. Their daddy had given Lainie money to buy land build them a house. The sad part about this story is the man that sold it, didn’t own the land plus he charged her all the she had to build the house too. Then she meets Noah and finds out the land is not hers. And the story begins. It was hard to not be able to read it all at once but very worth the wait to read the ending. Enjoy!!
Noah gets a bride by trying to evict a squatter. She has a deed but it turns out to be false. Both of them have issues in their past with family, and at first she agrees to a a marriage of convenience but they both figure out there is a lot more to it. Enough drama to make it interesting and favorite Bible verses to keep in their hearts. Indeed All things work together for good.
This is the second time I have read this book and still fine it enjoyable. Linda Ford is a very good writer. This book is about Noah and Lennie and her siblings. It’s about a swindler, love, and so much more. I’m sure I will reread this book in a few years again. Very enjoyable
I really enjoyed this story. Lannie, Missy, and Boyd struggled trying to make a ranch with nothing to operate with. Noah came upon them and told them that they were squatting on this land they had to move on. Lannie insisted that she had bought this land, had papers to prove it. There is much involved with this story, but you will enjoy their journey.
This is a story of a young man who along with his brother had been dismissed from his home by his mother who had married another man shortly after their father had died. Noah took long rides into the mountains to think and on one trip he found a young girl and her siblings squatting on land that belonged to his boss. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
This is another nice narrative. This is not a difficult read, easy to follow linear format, and language appropriate for any reader. What I didn’t enjoy is this series is very predictable, which for someone looking for a more diverse storyline is not the series for you. For me to read the rest of this series is pretty slim.
A story of forgiveness, trust, and love. I liked how the story wove trusting in God to work everything out for the best for all concerned and how real the characters were. It’s a story that could be in today’s time as well.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. Good character development and liked the interaction between main characters. My suggestion is to omit the Cynthia portion at the end of the book as it seemed unnecessary and took away from the sweetness of the story.
They both had a dream and were willing to work together to make it happen. But, there were incidents that kept interfering. Plus two children to think of. Filled with hope and faith.
Beautiful love story that shows how God can take our circumstances and turn them into blessings. The hand of God can be seen as two hearts become one. Each scripture shared spoke to my heart and encouraged me to stand firm in the love of God.
This series just keeps getting better. This story was so good I had a had time stopping to go to bed and stayed up untitled midnight then had to wait till I could get the time to finish it,so glad I did. On to the next story
What a lot of ups and downs for this couple! Right from the beginning, they struggled to trust. Lets you get a real feeling for the hardship early settlers dealt with! Loved it!
Noah's mom kicked him and his brother out when she remarried right after his father died. He does not trust women. But when a squatter shows up, all bets are off. Good clean romance.
After reading this heartwarming love story, I look forward to more from this series!
Linda Ford writes hood, wholesome and clean romantic stories. I really enjoyed reading this but towards the end, there appears to be a lack of editing which was disappointing.
Great character development... Not predictable... Heartwarming. Enjoying this series...Truly enjoy getting more of a glimpse into each character. Looking forward to next book.
I liked know this story that brought together two people and how they worked to become a family. Noah started out trying to be helpful and realized they could make a family.
Oh this was so good. I loved Laine right away and Noah was a perfect complement to her. Boyd and Missy were great and added so much charm. This was everything the last book wasn’t. I’m looking forward to reading Noah’s brother’s book next!
Happy ending for Noah, Lainie, Boyd and Missy. This is a good book for readers who like clean love stories. I, myself, seem to have too many tears in the sad parts. Thank you for another good book Linda Ford.
Though I enjoyed the plot I was distracted by the writing and the few editing errors. The writing for some reason felt different, like it was more summarized and choppy.
This book is about a young woman who was foolish to believe what one man said. She hopes for a better future for herself and her siblings. In steps her hero. H
