Charlotte

When my best friend asked me to abandon the city for the small-town life, I took a chance and said yes.
I was unhappy in the corporate world and ready for a change.
I also made a promise to focus on myself for one year.
A whole year to avoid all complications, especially of the male variety.
That promise was a whole lot easier to keep until Brooks Montgomery showed up in my life.
The man is determined to win me over, no matter how many times I shoot him down.
He promises he won’t stop until I give in.
The secret truth?
I don’t want him to.

Brooks

I’ve known since the first moment I saw Charlotte that she was meant to be mine.
I’ve come into the coffee shop every day in pursuit of her.
I’m relentless when I see something I want.
Day after day she shoots me down.
Until her best friend decides to help me out.
One kiss could change everything, if only I can get the opportunity.
I'll do whatever it takes to convince her that I'm exactly what she needs.

The six of us made a pact. We’ve survived basic together, shared duty stations, and gone to war together. But the needs of the Army have separated us multiple times. That’s why we agreed that when each of us got out, we’d each settle down in the same mountainside town of Three Rivers. It was a favorite place to get away on holiday weekends when the six of us were stationed together in Alaska, and as veterans now we can’t imagine anywhere better. A place filled with fresh mountain air, friendly people who are there when you need them but happy to keep to themselves when you don’t, and unexpected love none of us saw coming.

Sweet & steamy short story insta-love romance with an older mountain man and younger curvy woman. NO cliffhangers. NO cheating. Guaranteed HEA.

Brooks is the fifth book in the Brothers in Arms in Alaska series. The story is about Charlotte Monroe and Brooks Montgomery.

Brooks has followed his other veteran brothers and moved to the small town of Three Rivers, Alaska. He has been there for a few months and has a job working security for AK12 AVIATION in town.

Charlotte moved at the beginning of the summer to Three Rivers after being talked into it by her best friend Adalyn. Charlotte had been working in marketing for company in Anchorage, was burnt out and not liking it any more. Adalyn was running away from something but had never told Charlotte what it was. So the two besties landed in Three Rivers and got jobs at the only coffee shop in town, Moosely Coffee Shop.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Brooks mets Charlotte when she's working at the Moosely Coffee and he comes in. Brooks asks Charlotte to go out to dinner with him but she turns him down. Charlotte's best friend Adalyn wanted a change so they both moved to Three Rivers a few months ago. Brooks comes in everyday to asks Charlotte to dinner, but she turns him down, he tells her he's going to keep asking until she tells him yes. When Brooks is helping his best friend Jett move some furniture they head to The East Fork for something to eat, Charlotte's best friend Adalyn comes in. Brooks calls Adalyn over, and she give him some advice. The next day after the morning rush it's almost time for Charlotte to leave when Brooks comes in and asks her to go on a hike with him. Brooks tells her it's not a date, and he'll invite Jett and Adalyn along. While hiking when Jett and Adalyn go off by themselves Brooks finds out that Charlotte likes to paint. Brooks at Charlotte about her time in Anchorage and why she moved to Three Rivers. Charlotte is trying to take a year for herself, so she feels like she shouldn't be dating. Brooks tells Charlotte that he wants to spoil her, and take her to places she's never been. Brooks tells her he's thought about kissing her since he first seen her, when he moves closers to her, she grabs the back of his neck and kisses him. Charlotte heads to get some new painting supplies, when she leaves she runs right into Brooks. Brooks offers to walk her home, and asks her if she thought more about his offer. When they get to Charlotte's home, they head inside and Brooks kisses her. Brooks pleasures Charlotte, and tells her this is all about her. Brooks hops up, Charlotte asks him where he's going and he tells her to work. Brooks tells her she's the one he wants and when she wants more all she has to do is ask. When Brooks is helping Jett, he gets a message from Charlotte, he leaves his buddy. Brooks finds her in her robe, he pleasures Charlotte, then they make love. Charlotte and Adalyn go for a hike, when they reach the scenic overlook she gets out her sketchpad. Soon Brooks comes alone, and asks Charlotte what she's drawing. Charlotte doesn't want to show anyone what she's doing. Later that night Brooks ends up at Charlotte's home where they make love again. When Charlotte heads to get a drink of water, Brooks's phone rings. When Brooks goes to answer it he finds a room with all of Charlotte's paintings, he pushes open the door and can't believe how good she is. Charlotte finds him and asks him what he's doing, she tells him to get out. Brooks tells her he's sorry, but Charlotte tells him to leaves. Brooks tells her he loves her, Charlotte tells him no he doesn't, love is a complication she doesn't want anything to do with right now. Brooks finds out one of his buddies Storm's plan went down. Charlotte knows she's being a coward, but then she realizes she loves him. When Charlotte goes after Brooks, Adalyn find her and tells her about the accident. Charlotte and Adalyn head into town to AK12 Aviation where everyone has gathered. Charlotte finds Isla and asks him if she knows anything, they finds out Storm's plane when down and they have a search and rescue team looking for him. She tells him she loves him and Brook tells Charlotte he knows. Brooks kisses her in the middle of Main Street, and Charlotte tells him she wants to know everything about him. Eight months later, Brooks is trying to put a crib together, Jett comes over to help, when Storm comes in and puts it together for them. They are married and expecting a baby girl in three months.

It is all about her....and he is more than willing to make it that way too!

Brooks is the fifth book in the Brothers in Arms in Alaska series and is a great addition to the series. So the two landed in Three Rivers and got jobs at the only coffee shop in town, MOOSELY COFFEE. Charlotte had decided this would be the year of her, a time to have a simpler life, get better at her painting and figure out what she wanted to do next. The one thing she is determined not to do is have any complications which means no men. Too bad for Brooks as the man has been determined to get a date with Charlotte ever since he laid eyes on her a week ago. He has come into the coffee shop and asked her out every day since but she has turned him down, even if she has been fighting within herself about it. After all the man is tall, handsome, built and soooo sexy. Luckily for Brooks Adalyn takes pity on him after seeing him shot down over and over again. She gives him a hint on just how he can get Charlotte to go out with him, even if she ends up saying it is a non-date. But it gets in closer to her, spending more time with her, learning more about her, but still not getting her to lower some of her walls. Brooks is determined though, even if it feels like it might be harder than carrying a full rucksack up a mountain. Charlotte in the meantime is having a now unsatisfying relationship with BOB (battery operated boyfriend) and all she can think about is Brooks and what he could do with his hands and lips. This is going to be a struggle for them both but it will be so worth it when they finally work things out.

I enjoyed this very entertaining story. Both Brooks and Charlotte are nicely written characters and there several supporting characters that add a lot of fun and story. My only small issue is that the book could use one final round with a good proofreader. But other than this it was a wonderful story with some drama, emotion and sizzling smexy passion.

Take me to that place that’s better than Paris

This is book five in the highly enjoyable ‘Brothers in Arms in Alaska’ series. This one is about Charlotte and Brook. She left a busy, executive assistant position in the corporate world in Anchorage, to work as a barista at Moosely Coffee in Three Rivers with her best friend Adalyn. This is where she meets Brooks, as a daily coffee customer. He’s been asking her out to dinner every day for the past week, and she keeps knocking back his invitation. Their mutual attraction is undeniable, and their chemistry is quietly growing. But she won’t budge!

To deny that he’s insanely attractive would be futile for Charlotte. She thinks he’s panty-melting hot! But, Charlotte’s focus for the next year was to be on making herself happy, without the drama or complications of being tied down in a relationship. She’s enjoying spending her free time painting, hiking and just being – things she never really had the opportunity to do in the city. But Brooks isn’t going to give up that easy. He’s convinced that she’s ‘the one’ for him. And it’s actually Adalyn who gives him a gentle nudge in the right direction.

Brooks invites Charlotte to go on a hike, instead of the standard dinner-date request. She seems a little unsure but is equally intrigued. When he offers his friend Jett and her friend Adalyn to join them, she begrudgingly agrees. There must be something about being in the great outdoors that has her letting her guard down, and things progress rather rapidly for them. They’re sizzling-hot together!

However, an over-reaction to something Brooks does has her throwing him out. Also, he gets a distressing phone call from Jett about their mutual, close friend Storm, whose plane has gone down. Emotions are heightened for all, but things are also put into perspective. But hopefully it isn’t too late.

This was another fun, sweet and steamy read. And as always, I look forward to the next one, where Jett and Adalyn might just rekindle the spark that started burning for them. I give this book four and a half painted stars.

Charlotte has moved to a small town in Alaska with her girlfriend. She wants to take a step back from her hectic, crazy life and concentrate on herself. She loves her barista job and being able to work on her art. When Brooks comes into the shop for coffee he is over the top in love. He knows Charlotte is his forever! Charlotte is not having any of it. She is here to work on herself - no men allowed! Will Brooks win her over? Will Charlotte stick to her promise? These characters are vibrant and have a load of chemistry. When their bodies accidentally touch there is electricity, sizzle and tingles. I really enjoyed the story. The characters brought the story to life. I could see Brooks cocky grin, or sexy smile, his swagger. Charlotte’s feisty spirit and her charming sassiness. They both had such charisma!

I really enjoyed this book again. Brooks is hot and he knows exactly what he wants, namely Charlotte. But she doesn't want anything, neither Brooks nor any other guy. Not for a whole year. Finding herself is the motto, and thoughts of falling in love only disturb her. Besides, she is afraid of having to change again for someone. She finally wants to find her true self. She has little self-confidence and doesn't show her pictures to anyone. It is only when an accident shows her true feelings that she really thaws her heart....
Great characters and I especially liked that there is a parallel plot with Jett and Adalyn, I am already looking forward to a reunion.

Great, hot , sweet and beautifully Alaskan is this book . A short novel to fall in love.

Brooks is asking Charlotte every day, after he first sees her working at the Moosely Coffee Shop. She just moved to the smaller town with a friend a short time ago, and has sworn off men for a year. Guess Brooks did not get that memo. With help from her friend, he has a chance and he takes it, as getting to know her is his top priority. The characters are terrific, with intense feelings and emotions, chemistry and great backstories. The storyline is a roller coaster ride of situations and surprises that keep you on edge. You will have your fingers crossed for these two right from the start. Love the ending and can not wait to read the next book in the series, about their best friends.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Brooks is the fifth book in the ‘’brothers in arms in Alaska’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Charlotte is on a self imposed man ban for a year. For six months a sexy ex military man has asked her out. Brooks wants Charlotte and he is determined to get her to give him a chance.
The chemistry between Brooks and Charlotte is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

Brooks and Charlotte

Curvy and sassy Charlotte is taking a year to focus on herself and that includes denying or escaping everything that’s complicated. But when she meets the charismatic Brooks and he adamantly pursues her, she finds herself giving in, complications and all. Her illuminating smile and his dangerous dimples as they flirt, turn into a steadfast love that burns truer than the heartiest flames! I love these amazing stories by Kali Hart!

Another great book in this series

Absolutely love the descriptions of the area, Storm's plane and his continued flying, people and scenery. Makes you wish you could live there. Charlotte moved with her best friend away from Alaska to get in touch with herself. No men among other things. Brooks fell for her the moment he saw her. She shot him down every time. Well, almost every time. As it happens in life, they go through some good and bad times together. Read this book to see what happens. You'll enjoy it too. :)

Charlotte is working as a barista, and she loves it. Her life in Three Rivers is making her more creative. Her paintings are improving.
Brooks needs to win Charlotte over, but he is not sure how to get to her. A tip from Charlotte’s best friend may help.
She wants to have a year just for herself and about herself and Brooks helps her to get it.
A nice, sweet and enjoyable story like the rest in this series.

Charlotte and her friend left Anchorage for a more relaxed way of life in Three Rivers. She’s been working in the local coffee shop and Brooks has come in everyday to ask her out and she’s repeatedly said no. Brooks know deep down that Charlottes is his one and only. He just needs to find a way to convince her of that too. Another great read in this series. The storyline was well written and had likeable characters. They had a sizzling connection that leapt off the pages. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Once again we return to Three Rivers Alaska. Brooks and Charlotte are the couple this visit. Charlotte is determined to have a "me year". Brooks is determined to be part of it. With a little help from friends, the two finally hookup. An overblown reaction to a misunderstanding threatens to tear them apart. I love how this story also sets up some backstory to not just one but two future books

Another great short read 💖

This is another fantastic addition to the Brothers In Arms in Alaska series and is the story of Brooks and Charlotte. Before they get their HEA - they do have to go through some back and forth. Charlotte has some things she needs to overcome and learn to trust and to re-frame some of her ideas. I do love them together but cannot wait for the next story!!!!! It’s going to be awesome!!

Charolette left the corporate world behind to live the quiet life man free with her best friend. Unfortunately, the handsome Brooks has other ideas. It was love at first sight and Brooks will stop at nothing to win her over… including taking the advice of her best friend to win her over. I’m the worst person to review Kali Harts books. I can honestly say I’ve loved everything she written, since I discovered her book last year…

A Two Month Year

Yeah, I know but that exactly what it was. Super burnt out Charlotte wanted a year to focus on her after a rough time at a marketing job. Brooks had his heart and eyes set on her and was determined to love her. He convinced her to give him a chance...which she did.

3.5 stars. Charlotte, the female lead, has decided to have a year focused purely on her and what she needs for personal growth and development. But she lets fear get in the way of getting what she wants, rejecting the male lead, Brooks, continually because she’s worried about what choosing him will mean; and not letting anyone see her artwork. Until the situation changes and she worries she’s lost him altogether.

This short story is dual POV, well written, and a fun addition to the series, even if Charlotte’s stubbornness went a bit far.
