A curvy paranormal investigator and a skeptical mountain man go from enemies to lovers when she visits his family's haunted mountain lodge.
WES I know what the guests and even my own mother say. They think our lodge is haunted. I think there are plenty of explanations for what goes bump in the night. No one will convince me differently. Not even a gorgeous paranormal investigator.
But after we both witness something I can't explain, it's harder to be skeptical. And as we work together more closely, I find that ghosts aren't the only things I may be willing to believe in now.
MARNIE In my line of work, I'm used to dealing with skeptics, but Wes takes the cake. If this job wasn't so fascinating, and he wasn't so handsome, I'd pack up my EMF reader and audio recorder and head home.
But I'm glad I stick it out and wait. This quickly turns out to be my most interesting case. And not just because we may have actual evidence of a ghost. I may have found proof of something else: true love.

Marnie, a paranormal investigator, arrives at the Independence Lodge Inn as she looks for possible evidence of a ghost. Wes, a confirmed skeptic, refuses to believe in ghosts, certain that strange sights and sounds all have an explanation. He tries to turn her away, but they both feel drawn to each other as they work side by side.
In the course of their investigation, both of them witness something that even Wes cannot explain away. And oddly enough, having begun to accept the reality of ghosts, just maybe they can accept the reality of love. Will they give what they are feeling a chance to “materialize” and convince them a HEA is possible for them both?
This was truly just an okay spooky romance. I didn't necessarily love the hero and how he initially treated our heroine and it effected my enjoyment of their romance. Overall, I loved the setting and the ghost!
Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.
Wes meets Marnie when she comes to his lodge to hunt for ghost. Wes doesn't believe in ghost and is very doubtful Marnie will find anything. She wants to prove him wrong, so they go looking at all the places that guest claim to see something. Marnie assures Wes she isn't there to make up stories, she just wants to find proof. When Marnie is by herself and testing out the equipment she gets a message, but she soon finds out it was Wes just being childish. Wes knows he needs to apologies so the next day he takes her one of his mom's famous Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Cookie bars with cinnamon chips. Wes finds himself fascinated with Marnie's equipment and wants to learn what they do. Wes likes to listen to Marnie and how excited she gets. When Wes accidentally knocks over a piece of Marnie's equipment it turns on and they hear someone talk to them. Wes goes to talk to his mom and ask her about her ring she lost that has been passed down. Wes's mom tells him she hasn't seen it since he was little. Later that night Marnie head out to the woods where several sightings have been made. Soon she hears footsteps and isn't sure what it is. Then she starts running and when she trips and falls down, Wes comes to pick her up and carries her back to her room. Wes makes sure Marnie is alright before he heads back to his room. When Marnie can't sleep she debates on going to find Wes, then she does. Marnie knocks on his door, when he opens it, she tells him she thinks they should have sex. She tell him there's a lot of sexual tension between the two of them. She tells him she wants him and asks him if he wants her. Wes tells her he does, so she tells him lets do it and get it out of the way. Wes tells Marnie he doesn't do relationship and she tells him she'll be gone in about a week. They begin kissing then he pleasures her and they make love. The next morning Wes and Marnie work together to figure out what the voice told them about the ring. They find the man who they thinks is talking to them in Wes's family tree. Soon the lights are shut off and they then see a figure in front of them. The voice tells them the ring is in the barn, and Wes leaves the room heading to the barn. Marnie starts to pack up her things to head back home, Wes's mom comes to find her and ask her if she is leaving. His mom tells Marnie that she could stay and record her podcast there, she know they have their differences. Wes's mom tells her that she hoped they would have hit it off, then they hear Wes and he tell her that they did. Wes tells Marnie she's not leaving. He tells her he wants her to stay. Wes shows Marnie and his mom the ring he went looking for last night. Wes's mom tells him it belongs to him now, she wants it to be part of another great love story. Wes tells Marnie that he now realizes you can't explain some things, you can't see them, or hear them but you know they're there. Wes tells Marnie he's falling for her, Marnie tells Wes she's falling for him also. Wes places the ring on Marnie's finger. One year later Wes stands waiting for Marnie to walk down the aisle. Then the officiant proclaims them husband and wife. Wes tells Marnie here's to a lifetime of tricks and no treats. He tells her they'll never be bored and she tells him that's the plan.

Just in time to get you in the spirit of ghosts and ghouls Kate Tilney has given us Haunted by a Mountain Man. This is the second book in the Holidays with a Mountain Man series and it is a whimsical, fun, entertaining and smexy book. The story is about Marnie Malone and Wes McClintock. Marnie is a paranormal/ghost hunter who has her own podcast, website, runs courses and the like. She was contacted by the owner of the Independence Mountain Lodge to come and try to find the ghosts that have been seen in the lodge and on the property by guests. When she finally gets to the lodge she is met by Wes, the son of Mrs. McClintock who is the one who invited her. Wes is a skeptic in every sense of the word, about ghosts, love, HEA's, etc. After he left the military he came back to help his mother run the family owned, for multiple generations, Inn. Marnie and Wes may be opposites in a lot of ways but the one thing they do agree on is that there is a lot of sexual tension between them, and that it needs to be taken care of. So let the fun begin as these two hunt for ghosts both in and out of the sheets.
I really enjoyed this fast-paced, fun, smexy and completely engaging story. I liked the story-line, with just a bit of scary, and the characters were very likeable. Plus add in some famous pumpkin spice cookie bars that I want the recipe for.
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! The word is out about hauntings at a lodge and Marnie couldn’t resist, heads to the lodge in the Rocky Mountains hopefully to uncover the truth of whether there is actually anything paranormal going on or is it all hear say. Upon arriving at the Lodge Inn, she is greeted by Wes sexy as all get out son of the owner who is borderline rude when informing he doesn’t believe in anything supernatural, but it isn’t up to him because his mom called her. She plans to investigate and examine every inch of the property despite Wes’s non-belief. A few drinks later has the chemistry insane but Wes do not do long term and hearing something on one of her machines has him second guessing what he believes but will his ancestors make a believer out of the two of them and can they find happiness along with a long term relationship?
I really enjoyed this romance that is just in time for Halloween! Marnie and Wes were terrific characters and I loved their story! Marine is a paranormal investigator who’s visiting an Inn that has reported multiple sightings. Wes runs the Inn with his mother and doesn’t believe in any of the sightings or in anything paranormal.
These two get off to a rough but hilarious start. The banter between these two is fun to read and the chemistry is hot and steamy. I loved the development of the story and the answers that is brings. Read it today to find out what happens. Will Marnie find evidence of sightings? Will Wes put his skepticism aside and help Marnie with her investigation? You will definitely want to know!

First things first; I like the cover of this book! Haunted by a mountain man is the second book in the ‘’holidays with a mountain man’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Marnie is a ghost hunter. When she is hired to search/hunt at a mountain inn, she meets the owner’s son. Wes doesn’t believe in ghosts and he isn’t looking for love. When Marnie starts hunting his family business, sparks fly but will love blossom? The chemistry between Wes and Marnie is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I look forward to more books from this series.
Well I should say it's a good lust story since neither Marine or Wes wanted a relationship. This was such a fun book to read. Loved the descriptions of her drive up into the mountains where GPS doesn't work well, the sighting of the lodge in the clearing, the mountains and her first glimpse of Wes. Wes was certainly a big non believer of things that go bump in the night. Marine gets upset with him but doesn't try to get him believe until he hears something one of her pieces of equipment picks up. She also knows what she wants and it's Wes. Read how that comes along and what other things that happen. It's really a fun book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Written by Cindy :)
Kate Tilney's Holidays with a Mountain Man series continues with Haunted by a Mountain Man, a short instalove romance that entertains from the first page to the last. Marnie, who investigates paranormal activity, arrives at a lodge in the mountains of Colorado, ready to either prove or debunk claims of ghost sightings. She immediately meets Wes, the son of the lodge's owner, who is the definition of a skeptic. Sparks instantly fly between the opposites. Will some Halloween magic bring Wes and Marnie together, or are there actually sinister forces at play in the mountain resort? This is a fun, steamy, must-read Halloween treat!

Marnie is on the way to a haunted lodge to investigate. She is getting of her car when this gorgeous man steps out of the large with a scowl on his face. The woman behind him greets her and takes her son to task for being rude.
Wes does not believe his mother brought in a "paranormal investigator", there are no ghost in the lodge, just guests who got too drunk. The sparks between them flow but he does not do long term. Can she convince him ghosts exist? Will he want her to stay?
This is part of the Holidays with a Mountain Man series, that is steamy, short read with a HEA.

Wes is annoyed that his mother has invited a paranormal investigator to their mountain lodge to investigate ghostly sightings. Wes has never seen anything unusual happened and he thinks that most of the ghost sightings were from either gullible believers or drunk customers. Wes thinks this is all just a waste of time. When he meets Marnie, he is instantly drawn to her and sparks fly. He can't resist agruing with her and even scoffing at her but she doesn't let him stop her. The more time Wes spends with Marnie, the more evidence of unusual things he starts to see and hear. Maybe ghosts might be real.

Marnie arrives at the lodge after being invited to investigate the sightings that have been reported over the years. Wes grew up at the lodge and never witness anything unusual, so when Marnie showed up he did not hided his skepticism.
Haunted by a Mountain Man is a fun and steamy fast read that is perfect for season. Marnie and Wes have an intense pull toward each other that they decide to explore, when strange things start to happen, it is hard to ignore. Love it, Love it, love it.

Marnie is a paranormal detective and Wes is the son of an Inn owner and someone who does not believe in ghosts. Curiosity gets the better of him and as they proceed, things change dramatically for them in both the romantic and paranormal sense. Loved the characters and the storyline was well written and had great situations blended in. The suspense was right on, along with the steamy bits and the locale. Great ending.

Marnie is a paranormal investigator who is at Independence Lodge Inn investigating the reported hauntings. Wes is a big time skeptic and believes there is an explanation for everything until he witnesses something with Marnie that he has no explanation for it. I loved Marnie and Wes together and how they find love during a paranormal investigation. This is a short, steamy holiday romance and a great addition to the Holidays With a Mountain Man series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Marnie investigates unusual events, like ghost sitings. She arrives at her next job and meets Wes, a sceptic, but his mother is convinced that their inn has lots of ghosts. She starts work and Wes pulls a childish trick. Can he accept her work? Will she be able to carry on working and ignoring the attraction between them? Another short, sexy read from Kate. This is the second book in the Holidays with a Mountain Man. Short, steamy instalove set during Halloween. It can be read as a standalone, though it is connected to the first book by the town and friendship. Wes doesn't believe in ghosts or love; Marnie believes in both. Can she change his mind on both while she's at the family lodge investigating claims of hauntings?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Marnie is a paranormal investigator who comes to investigate the family lodge. Wes doesn't believe at first. Their attraction and love is aided by his ancestor's ghost and Wes becomes a believer. I loved the supernatural angle.
A haunting experience in a mountain lodge. There are reported sightings of seeing ghosts in room and the forest. She is there to investigate, the mountain man does not want to believe. Paranormal activity is a must in this read. No cliffhanger except the flickering lights

The second book in the Holidays with a Mountain Man series a well written short story that held my interest throughout. Paranormal investigator Marnie comes to Wes' family's haunted mountain lodge. I enjoyed seeing their story come together with a little help. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a short and sweet Halloween story. Marnie is kind of a ghost hunter and searches for them at Wes family's lodge. They meet and sparks fly. She is a believer, he is skeptical. But the heart wants the heart gets. Insta love, sweet, romantic without drama😍😍😍😍 and with a bit of haunted action 😉
This story is a very quick read - it is cute and has just enough depth of character to make me want more - more background on the characters and more information on the scenario that makes up the storyline and their HEA.

This story was short, sweet, steamy, romantic, paranormal with a happily ever after. Wes's mother hired Marlie who works as a investigator of paranormal activity and Wes is a none believer. As stranger things started to happen around them, also their sexual tension increases.
This was a cute mountain man romance with a twist. I wasn’t a fan of the paranormal aspect of this story but the story was cute, entertaining and well written. There was a clear connection between Wes and Marnie and they were a great couple.
This book was so good. I am so glad I was able to be a part of Marnie and Wes story, because it was just so good and I would love to read more about them in the future.
