Going Home: Diary of a Teenage Alien was an interesting and short book. In it, you will meet Lizzy and Riley. They had a unique friendship but most of the time I would roll my eyes towards them both. Lizzy was the troublemaker and somehow Riley was the level headed one.

However, I wasn't a huge fan of Riley when they met the earth kids.

Other than that, I'm glad that this book was so short to fly through. The characters themselves were okay but I wasn't a huge fan of them all. They could be likable at times but other times I was annoyed or frustrated.

In the end, it was an okay book.

These days, it's commonly believed that teenagers' brains are differently 'wired' from those of mature adults all over the world, which I guess explains teenage angst and all its associated problems. But this book points out that the wiredness (or maybe 'weirdness') exists, not only all over the world as we know it, but also all over the Universe. But, at the same time, some teens exhibit a rare wisdom and understanding that combines with innocence and just growing up.
Loved this book.

الفكرة لطيفة، لكن أحداث النوفيلا سطحية للغاية. إلى جانب الكثير من أخطاء التنسيق الداخلي جعل الحوار غير واضح.
محتاجة أفهم حقيقي السبب وراء مشاعر الانزعاج المستمرة من كل الشخصيات بدون داعِ.

مش ممتعة خالص!
مفيش روح التشويق ولا أي مغامرة، وده غريب بالنسبة للفكرة الأساسية أصلا.. كملتها عشان أخلصها بس مش أكتر.

مفيش حاجة طول الرواية غير أنهم بيتجادلوا بالكلام!
مع إن كان ممكن يتم توضيح خلافاتهم بطريقة أقل مللاً.

I picked this one up for a challenge, figured it's short and fulfills some task.

I title pretty much narrows down what this book is about. A teenage girl (Lizzy) decides to take a visit to Earth with her best friend and younger sister (who wasn't invited). Only the unexpected happens and they are stuck there because something has failed on their ship.

I couldn't get into this one, the writing was a bit bleh for my liking. It was mostly conversations between groups of people, but at times I found myself lost with who even was supposed to be talking. And even though it says "teenage" alien, it felt more so like a preteen book with the main character (Lizzy) and (Riley) constantly bickering about something. Would I recommend it? no, but hey it might be up the alley for someone else.

رواية سكر ممتعة جدا مناسبة لليافعين أوي وحاجة خفيفة للكبار بين الكتب الثقيلة أو وقت السفر.
رواية خيالية عن أختين وصاحبتها اللي من كوكب أليتس و قرروا يغامروا برحلة لكوكب الأرض وهناك بتعطل سفينتهم وبيختبروا علاقتهم ببعض وازاي هيقدروا يرجعوا لكوكبهم❤️

Wow...such a pleasant surprise! I love the setting and the all of the characters. The interactions among Lizzy, Riley, and Cory were such a treat. Since sci-fi is not one of my favorite genres, it takes a lot for me to truly love a sci-fi book but I loved this one. Other worlds isn't something I love reading about either, but the descriptions were so enjoyable reading and I was able to really imagine the scenery. That being said, I'm more character driven and I must say that the characters were surprisingly well-developed in such a short little book.

إنها قصة ممتعة وجميلة وتناسب اليافعين بل إنها حتى تناسب صغار القراء، كما أن ترجمتها تعد من الخطوات الواسعة المميزة التي تتخذها دار كتوبيا نحو أدب اليافعين، أفضل ما يميزها أنها تُركز على المغامرة لا حشو، لا تطويل، لا كلمات بلا فائدة مما يجعلها الكتاب المناسب لطفل هذا العصر الذي يشعر بالملل بسرعة، رواية مميزة أمتعتني وسأرشحها بقوةٍ لطلابي الذين يمشون خطواتهم الأولى في رحلة القراءة.

يوميات فضائي للكاتبة كاندي سمرز. هي رواية خيال علمي صدرت عام 2021 عن دار كتوبيا للنشر والتوزيع. تدور أحداث الرواية حول فتاة مراهقة فضائيّة تدعى ليزي تهرب من كوكبها بسبب الحرب التي اندلعت هناك. تحط ليزي رحالها على كوكب الأرض، حيث تتعرف على ثقافة جديدة وأشخاص جدد.

تُكتب الرواية بأسلوب تعيس وممل واخطاء، لاتوجد اي قصة او اي موضوع للرواية،فقط اكتب وحط كم جملة واعمل رواية. تتناول الرواية مواضيع متنوعة، مثل الصداقة والحب والحرب والسلام،لكن ماحسيت في هذه المواضيع انها موجوده..الجميع في الرواية معصب وزعلان ويريد النقاش،أسلوب ركيك. الخلاصه الرواية مملة جدا ولاتستحق اي نجمه.

My 10 year son and I read this book together as a bedtime story over several evenings and really enjoyed it. The story is easy to follow and had my son laughing out loud in places. Considering the author is a child, the plot is very creative and I'd love to see what she writes as she develops her talent. I feel that this book would make a brilliant start to a series about Lizzy and the other characters. I'm so glad we were given the chance to read this 5 star book 🌟

Lizzy is the troublemaker and Riley is the more level headed voice of reason in this friendship. Lizzy is determined to get away from her home planet for a week after her father has been shot and their planet has been at war for a long time. Their destination is Earth. They end up crashing their spaceship and meet some Earth kids. They have to figure out how to fix their ship to get home and learn a lesson about friendship and how to treat others in the end.

الرواية قصتها حلوة بس بسيطة زيادة عن اللازم والترجمة قللت من جودتها
الروايةأحداثها سريعة جدًا وتعتبر نوفيلا والثلثين الأخيرين من الرواية كانوا متوقفين على حدث حصل بسرعة جدًا ولم يكن منطقي بالنسبة لي
ومشكلة الترجمة أنها كانت بسيطة زيادة عن اللازم والغلطات الإملائية لا تعد ولا تحصى، وما يثير غيظك هو تفاهة تلك الأخطاء مثلا كلمة (أمام) مكتوبة هكذا(أما) فتتسائل هل من مراجع لتلك الرواية وهل حتى نظرت عليها المترجمة بعدما انتهت من الكتابة بالإضافة إلى وجود أو بعنى أصح عدم وجود بعض الكلمات المؤثرة على سياق الجملة.
وأيضًا لاحظت في بعض المرات أن المترجمة تخلط بين أسماء الشخصيات فتكتب قالت ليزي بدلًا من أن تكتب قالت رايلي
وما لم أفهمه هو تلك الرسومات المضافة للرواية والتي لم أفهمها أو أفهم أهميتها ولا أعرف أن كان هذا في الرواية الأصلية أم هي إضافة من الناشر العربي دار (كتوببا)
