As the title suggest its about marriage a self respect marriage basically books talk about how live in nd love marriages are treated it talks about there legality and acceptance in society and had a lot of reference from tamil customs, scholars and from other regional traditional books.
Two lines from the book which i really liked.
1. What is of course surprising and disappointing is a complete absence of women from these debates, both as point of reference and as participants.
2. A nationalism that did not even attempt to speak to its female subject.
Basically books is about females but in the whole books its all men who are deciding what should be done.
Just a 40 page books, give a try to understand how the rules and custom work and are formulated in southern part of India and i see very few differences its almost same everywhere in India.
