Seraphina Waters embarks on her latest mission just as she's on the verge of graduation. Armed with hard-earned skills, talent, and a mouthy companion, Phina pursues the identity of a traitor among the ranks of SpyCorps. Even if the answer could be a stab to the heart. Following shadows and rumors, Phina races time to discover the truth. Little does she know that while she's chasing the traitor, the traitor is chasing her.
Read cover to cover in a sitting. Action packed, interesting plot and character arcs, great new characters, and then bam….. The author says she loves HEA, GREAT, doesn’t like killing of MC or even important secondary character (great and she learned from MA’s mistake in the original series) then Oh, not sure there will be more books in this series….WHAT! NO!
Seriously SE this is possibly the best and truest to the original series “spirit” off shoot series and pleasantly without the typical crazy cursing/not cursing overused in the other books… back off rabid fans that’s just my opinion after dozens of books in the universe it gets grating not endearing. Please finish your other trilogy… take you time… just please write more for this series in the future!
This was really good. Phina spies amongst the spies... it helps that she's telepathic!
I love the scene where Blayk's true colours come out and Phina gets the Empress' approval to deal out his punishment. I would have loved to see his enabler parents reactions to news of his atrocities and most importantly, his sister's reaction. I wish Phina's punishment for him happened to all abusers in the real world.

I was so sad to come to the end of this book, and this series. It has been a real joy to read, and will be added to the books that I will keep, and reread, as often as possible!
I was really pleased with myself that my very early guess, as to who was the traitor, became the truth, although the background to that leaves sooo many questions to be asked, that I'm hoping that the plot direction keeps on, and we get to read more about Phina and Todd, plus all of her chosen family and friends.
I have a list longer than both of my arms, of the books that are a part of the Kurtherian Universe, that I still have to read and, after them, even more books, and new series, by all of the authors taking part in this wonderful adventure, and so I'm hoping that at least some will be by Sarah Weir, if this first series of her's is an example!
I loved reading it. It drew me in immediately, and her characters were both believable, and very human, no matter what shell their inner beings wore.
The plots have been absorbing, interesting, and a lot of fun, too, and I look forwards to more books with this same excellence.
So, it's on to the book: Ahead Full, by Michael Anderle, as I continue this journey in the Kurtherian Universe!
The author does a great job of introducing a slew of new characters for the series and juggling them perfectly. The balance of trying to figure out “Who is the spot?” and clues are mixed well with enough doubt to mostly keep you guessing. She throws in enough subterfuge that made me question my own guess several times without withholding clues. It was done so well I mentioned it to my wife as I was reading the novel. The pacing, plot, and mystery are excellent. My only concern was with hacking of Masha and Link. I Ali wanted the “Happily Ever After” though it felt a little forced and quick. Link’s personality underwent significant changes between books 1-2 and 3-4. So much that it felt unnatural. Former, It felt like he went from a grizzled hardened cold bitter veteran to a teenage ‘chum’, and that was just too big a swing in such a short time. Please focus on the positives, I loved the writing and the characters. I have followed the author to await her next novel in whatever universe she writes it. I only mention Link to point out what I hope is helpful criticism. That’s for the adventures with Phina.
In the author notes Weir states why she needs happily ever after endings—mine is the same. I really loved this series, and I do hope to see these characters again. Honestly, in the whole Kurtherian bookverse there are an infinite number of characters I'd love to read about. The mixture of new characters with previous characters mesh into a fascinating overall storyline. There are revelations in this book that had me crying, but having answers can be a relief even if those answers are painful themselves. I enjoyed how the author kept readers in suspense about the villain, with two possibilities. I kept becoming almost certain of their identity and then changing to the other possibility with each new discovery. Highly enjoyable read, fits perfectly in the overall KU bookverse.
I enjoyed this spy story very much. Seraphina is a lovely young hybrid who has a unique set of D.N.A., skillset, and outlook. This makes her perfect for the Empress' special, code-black missions. I like her a lot. The world was already built, and this story slid in without difficulty. I think in some ways that is harder than making your own world! If you want you can change something, then say "I meant that to happen", but in another author's sandbox, you must abide the rules set in place beforehand. Anyhow, it was a good, solid, entertaining story and I will certainly continue with the series. Recommend reading, worthy of borrowing on K.U. or buying as ebook or paperback. Keep up the great writing! 8/10 unicorns 🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄
I can wait for the 2nd set of books in this series.
Phina is growing up fast. She has a job, a relationship & unlike when she was growing up, she has a large family.
She & Link take off to SpyCorps, which is headed up by Link. Phina has to train. Plus, her secret mission is to find the Traitor. Phina's big worry is it's someone close to Link, which will tear him apart.
I truly enjoyed diving into this book as much as the others. I pretty much read straight through. Tho' I missed Phinalina Forever, the adult side was astounding. Thank you so much for putting in the time to make this book so awesome! Can't wait to read more of your work.
I had read the first book when it was released , the others got lost in the massive influx of KU stories and timelines. So very glad that I found Phina again this week. I hope she will have more adventures as I have read every KU book that is out. I will turn to another to read again their shenanigans. Thank you for another ride down the rabbit hole. Ad Aeternitatem
This one was more mushy and filled with emotion a than before. Love must, friends mushy, family mushy. Some of the events of their resolution are downright bizarre, like with the rapist. I'd have loved to read more on those bracelet technology, but maybe next book?
I'm not sure if there's are more books in this series, but Weir and Anderle tied up most of the kids ends they set up in previous novels with this one. They also continued their teach record of excellent character development and great pacing in their narrative. Very enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next one!
Loved this "series within a series"! Not sure if it's done here, probably, but like most characters in this world, I'm sure we'll see Phina again. These books have it all, from great storylines, interesting characters, insane action scenes - Phina's were truly fun with the addition of gymnastics and parkour and even a little pole dancing! Just read 'em. ✋🐺
I was totally immersed in this series - didn't come up for air, let alone food or, coffee (snicker). To me, getting so buried in a book or series of books is a sign of a very talented author. I highly recommend! Ad aeternum
I love this series. Phina and all her friends are so much fun and I really enjoyed the training and competitions that they went through. I could not put this book down and am excited that there will be more books by S.E. Weir.
Seraphina has truly become a fierce defender of the Empire who cannot be swayed by anyone. She is still learning and will be a tremendous force for good when she reaches her full potential. Its important to show what you are capable of to stop some people .
Phina is as exciting as Bethany Anne starting out, stretching her wings. The storyline and inquisitive nature of our young assassins brings a lot of humor and surprises. Very enjoyable with challenges throughout. A great read!
There has to be more! This series of books is an absolutely wonderful! They stand on their own as a complete story and they add more depth to the Kutherian Gambit Universe! Thank you for this story!!!
Good characters. Easy read. Read all four in sequence and did not get tired of story line. Probably 10th book I have read by this author and she does a good job of flowing the stories.
This book completely drew me in. Interesting and nuanced characters, tough moral decisions, action and acrobatics, and even some romantic love. It was fun, got my heart racing in parts, and left me satisfied. But only satisfied enough to say… more please!!
Thoroughly enjoy this story and would highly recommend to fans of the Kurthian Universe. I look forward to the continuing story line in future books by the authors.
Another series down in the Kutherian Gambit Universe. I absolutely loved this series. Imagine recruited to be a spy. And not just for anyone but for an Empress. Great job S.E. Weir and Michael Anderle.
