A fight erupts between the Flatliners and Toppers when Aimee goes to the homecoming dance with Raphael and a supernatural event terrorizes the students. Both gangs must use their martial arts skills against it. At the same time, Middleburg real estate moguls are buying up the Flats and evicting tenants so they can search for a priceless treasure prophesied in ancient Chinese writings. Raphael and his impoverished gang vow to find it first and use it to buy back their homes. Meanwhile a handsome half-angel, half-human comes to town, planning to take Aimee away from Raphael. As Raph and his Flatliners and Zhai and his Toppers look for the treasure, Aimee begins kung fu training, intent on rescuing her missing mother. When she learns that the mysterious treasure is the key, the race to find it intensifies. But the digging has awakened the treasure’s guardian—a powerful force that could reduce all of Middleburg to ashes . . . and maybe even the world.
