Pirms 25 gadiem citplanētiešu kuģi pēkšņi uzradās virs Zemes un tikpat kā vienā mirklī, ieročiem skanot un pār mūsu ieročiem viegliem demonstrējumiem viegli pārākiem, pārņēma varu pār visu planētu, pār visām valstīm. We're better than we think...
Rise begins with an impossibly bleak setting, but by telling the full story from the perspectives of some very different kinds of characters, the authors have made it a journey of redemption and a page turner! I especially appreciated the cultural sensitivity the authors made good use of throughout. Sci-fi often can teach us lessons better than any other genre.

Really enjoyed this post-apocalyptic alien-invasion series enormously, a very interesting premise and a great set of characters to follow. Gripping, well-paced and thought-provoking (in thinking how one might react in such circumstances).

I liked this series. I thought it was a bit different then the usual post apocalyptic or invasion story. Instead of starting with the invasion it begins years later and follows 3 set of people as we learn more about what is going on as the resistance prepares to move. It had action and a bit of mystery. It kept me guessing and reading to see what each set would do. Lots of action between the human rebel against the alien invaders. More backstory of characters are revealed as the series progresses and the rebels try to stay ahead of the enemy and its trackers. Held my breath through all hoping the good guys all make it to the end of the series. And kept my eyes out for surprises. Lots of action, surprises, and suspense of would the rebels win. The characters were each different but made the story good. Just a good story I enjoyed.

Outstanding Series.
This was an outstanding series. These two authors were a pleasure to read. The characters were extremely well developed. The Story was very good, even if not all original. I saw a lot of similarities to Battlefield Earth regarding the aliens and their purpose for being on Earth. Some might see similarities between this and Stargate, but Battlefield Earth was written first. Lots of non stop action. The story moves very fast and many people might find themselves up late, as it's definitely a page turner. The ending was very satisfying. I only found two errors. Glocks do not have metal frames and the the AK 45 was an experimental rifle that was not produced. Other than that the weapons descriptions were spot on. I highly recommend this series. I enjoyed it very much.

Humanity trying to get along with one an other, nonsense!!
I believe I haven't given a review for any of the Rise books because I wanted to read the series first. I would like to think that how the characters reacted to being invaded is how we would act. This is a great series, love the characters and tempo of the story. Good sci-fi will make you cheer and laugh in one chapter and scream and cry in another. If you like classic earth vs aliens series this is one you want to read. Nathan Hystad and Devon C. Ford, well done, would like to read another if you two have written more.

Some were born before the invasion, some after, some are collaborating with the enemy, some are slaves, still others are itching for revenge. Can the unite and rise up against the invaders? Read all three as one book, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent Characters and Compelling Story.
I highly recommend this series. The characters are beautifully developed, and the story is incredibly compelling. Definitely leaves you wanting more.

Great ending.
It is difficult to get through the first part, because it is frustrating to imagine a world that it describes. The last part and ending though makes up for it. I enjoyed the series.

A very good read... It's like Battlefield Earth on steroids... The characters are well crafted and personable, while the story flows well enough that you want to keep reading just to find out what is next... I enjoyed the series...

Excellent alien invasion series.
Enjoyed this short series very much. Some sci-fi, some dystopian, page turner. Authors might want to advance the series into the future.

Very interesting books, many characters good and bad showing the best and worst of human behavior.

Great saga
Excellent Alien invasion & rewinding of our world story, with compelling characters. And it does not ignore the high chance of people that collude with the enemy. For survival. And that some amazing persons can be redeemed. Altogether enthralling. I couldn't put it down, read straight through in 1 1/2 days!💜💜💜
