The Breaking Point Book 6. Another really good book. A lot of crazy stuff happened in this one. I can’t wait to read the next one. Can Lizzy get to her children? What’s going to happen next to them?
Breaking Point Book 6, by Justin Bell and Mike Kraus, The Deepest Chasm, continues the series in a truly magnificent way. As the continental effects of the EMP continue, Lucas Croydon and FBI Agent Kari Davenport free journalist Lizzie Bateman from Chase's HQ. The trio head off to find her children, but that's disrupted by a violent confrontation with Chase. Lizzie's in terrible danger as Chase Croydon is a merciless killer who brooks no opposition and drags her off with him as his prisoner...but why? After she witnesses Chase murder an old couple just to steal from them, Lizzie wonders if she'll survive to see her family ever again.

I have really enjoyed this series, the premise is quite interesting of how the EMP happened. I must admit I liked this book the best so far in the series, but I was also looking forward to seeing it end. The storyline seemed on track to an ending and suddenly it's not and another book will be needed to continue the story. I think book 6 would have been a good place to end it and I am quite frustrated that I again have to wait to see how it all ends. I definitely wish authors would not drag the storyline on into so many different books, more is not always better and this book was on par for a GREAT ending! Until it wasn't...
Thank you for the prologue which is quite helpful. There is a lot of action in this book as well as some very sad losses. Through the flashback chapters, we get a clearer picture of how evil Chase really has become, but like a lot of monsters, he is very hard to kill. I did find it incredible, bordering on unbelievable, that Lucas and Kari did not have a better plan for the neighborhood, pending an attack from Chase and goons. I would have though a better strategy would have saved some lives and prevented some unfortunate occurrences, but then I guess that is how we get to book 7.
Kari and Lucas race to New Jersey to return Lizzy to her children but are ambushed and she is taken from them. They try to rescue her but realize they need to get to her children before Chase does. A bloody battle ensues and the unthinkable happens. Chase prepares for Phase Two of the further breakdown of civilization. Can't wait to find out what that is !
Lucas and Kari are headed to where Lizzy’s children are living in hopes of stopping his brother, Chase from harming them. Of course they run into trouble on the way. Chase is taking Lizzy home so he can carry out his plot of revenge on her children. But he must meet with someone to get information on phase 2 of the disaster plan.
Action moves along. Characters are interesting and add to storyline. Still do .not know final plan. These books are graphic, so be forewarned. It is a different approach to apocalypse. The backtracking can be a little distracting, but you get information as to why and how the plot progresses as it does.
Now on to the next one. I hope it’s ready. I keep gobbling up these books in hopes the next is ready. I really enjoyed this one but can’t wait find out what happens next.
Live reading books by these two authors, they both have a way of bringing th e characters to life! And I am never disappointed in the story theme Looking forward to the next bok in the series
With phase two coming and kidnapping the kids. Chase needs to be put down, he's a nut job. Hope I don't have to wait too long for the next book too see what happens.
The good, the bad and the ugly. Don’t get a look in, especially the bad, he is so evil and are his comrade’s. The good can’t see how bad. Although he does have a good idea.
As always an intriguing book. Fast paced and twists and turns make you want to learn more about the characters. With two superb writers, there’s no way, this story can go wrong.
Chase took Lizzy home so he could kill her children in front of her. But Lucas and Kari had already arrived. Lizzy escapes but Chase takes Pam and Josh.
