Flawed, but a good read.
Review is for books 1 and 2.
This is your basic EMP, neighborhood defends itself story, told in an exciting fashion, with a heroic chief character who is easy to root for. The characters have some depth, but not a whole lot. The book badly needs a proofreader. It has many small errors, such as “we” when “he” is obviously intended. Especially egregious is the repeated use of an apostrophe to make a plural, as in “The two boy’s ran …” If I was nevertheless able to enjoy this story, I think most other readers of this genre will as well.
