I read this book because Cassandra was coming to speak at a work conference. Honestly I felt the book didn't do her work justice in the way that her speaking did. Her conference speaking engagement was extremely engaging and well-connected. This book gives you a strong sense of her message though
This book has a lot to say about the positive side of change. It's message is almost inspirational. It didn't connect with me because I never bought into its premise to have faith that everyrhing happens for a reason. Despite a string of anectdotal evidence, I found it diffucult to build a strategy on such precarious ground. It was compelling. I waited for evidence in the form of studies or conclusions that were based on fact but they never came. I do agree that its important to recognize and sit with your feelings. I also am a firm believer in reframing a situation to allow you to feel more positive about the outcome. But the very idea that the pandemic was a good thing, even if good things emerged from it, is absurd. I believe things happen and sometimes you can make more of the mess than you had to begin with, but there is no guiding force wrecking your life so you can find it. This book while interesting and well structured did little to change my mind.
This was a powerful read. If you have ever faced change in your life Cassandra has some tips to help you through. Part memoir, part self-help I found myself nodding along and finding things I could do to help navigate the super amounts of change I'm facing at work. Although I did not do all the awesome exercises in the book at the first read, I will incorporate them in the second, third, and more reads.
This new book from Cassandra Worthy is fantastic! She shared some information I have seen before, a lot of things I have not heard before, and all of it is through the lens of change management, making it all really dynamic and interesting.
There are insightful and interesting exercises throughout that were enlightening to do on my own, and will be great when I can bring them to my team.
Loved the pace! I did this on audio and normally increase the speed of my books but she’s a fast talker so I didn’t have to do much. Not a fan of the religious bit at the beginning but the rest was good.
I saw the author live at a women's conference. She did a great job. But the book isn't saying anything that I didn't hear when she was on stage. It's a short read, and to me, it's all common sense recommendations by my viewpoint. I didn't gain any value. Thankfully, it's a quick read.
Fascinating look at the concept of change and how to look at the positives in life no matter what happens in life. I love the positivity and messages capturing the idea to keep moving forward
