Dominic "Domz" Agsaway is one of the most prolific and innovative children’s book illustrators in the Philippines. He studied fine arts, majoring in advertising, at the University of Santo Tomas. While still in college, he joined Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK), a group of visual artists dedicated to illustrating children’s picture books. This is a LGBTQ+-friendly children's book which is extremely rare in the Philippines. It's very whimsical, humorous and is far from common overly dramatic or tragic tropes about the people from the said community. My niece and I loves Boy Kendeng so much because of its light tone and entertainment value while instilling its message. Kudos to the author for creating this timely story. Philppines, even the world, needs this kind of picture books. I highly recommend that you read this book that might turn into a classic.
this is a very children’s book that i spotted at adarna publishing booth during mibf. was just browsing and i thought that the title was funny and this turned out to be the cutest and the most wholesome thing ever! i literally got emotional just flipping thru the pages. if you’re queer nad have daddy issues, it would tug at the heart.
