You Are Psychic: The Art of Clairvoyant Reading & Healing

Rate this book
"YOU ARE PSYCHIC" has been hailed as “the psychic’s bible” and has put tens of thousands of readers on the fast track to accessing and controlling their clairvoyant and healing abilities. In this revised edition by Living Dreams Press, "You Are Psychic" continues to open the eyes of readers and reverse the “blindness” of those cut off from their greatest gifts of in-sight and healing. Topics covered include: Learning how to thrive as an empath, Clairvoyant readings, Clairvoyant healing methods, communicating with your creator and your guides, Transformation, psychic protection techniques and the business of spirituality. This book will take your abilities to levels never imagined and facilitate your profound transformation into empowerment and living the life you were meant to live.

The first edition of You are Psychic: The Art of Clairvoyant Reading and Healing was published by Llewelyn Worldwide in 2004 and was received with extraordinary acclaim and sold tens of thousands of copies across the globe. This improved edition has been updated to reflect the changing times of having a successful intuitive guiding business in a more technologically advanced world. It incorporates extraordinary insights of the author, whom has been conducting clairvoyant readings, trainings and mentoring sessions for thousands of clients and budding psychics for two decades.

The author has also collaborated with the top psychic researchers and remote viewers to conduct scientific studies, serving both as scientist and subject. In this edition, she fine-tunes techniques based upon those endeavors. One of the greatest values this book has is its normalizing and comforting effect: by sharing intimate details of her own readings along with step by step techniques, she catalyzes “breakthrough” experiences that changes lives for the better and shows readers that clairvoyance is fun, numinous and enlightening. Perhaps most importantly, those who experiment with the material in this book will gain immediate awareness of the profound connection all beings have with each other.

This book came highly recommended to me by a mutual friend who is a professional psychic. I have read books in this genre for 2 decades now, and have been disappointed with books about being psychic. The problem was that it was overly simplified, or that many steps (tools) were not revealed, wherein opening your abilities without proper skills like proper grounding, healthy boundaries, etcetera would not bring about ideal situations! I am not even quite done yet and I have already learned so many things that have changed my professional astrology/healing practice! This is a psychic course if you ask me! Wonderful - can hardly wait for Extraordinary Psychic :-)

"Americans do not wake up in the morning longing for a balanced budget. What we do long for cannot be put in material terms, because it is not material. We're about to realize that our biggest problems, and our most powerful solutions, are not outside but within." Marianne Williamson, The Healing of America, 1997

"If you want to be a seer - than you must see yourself clearly with no lies - no hidden agendas - through your own eyes - your light - your darkness - your fears - your dreams - the symbols that make up your collective life experience - past life experiences - when you know yourself inside and out then you can see others clearly" - Robin Peppersack

I found this book to be a fantastic manual on personal energetic control. The parts of the book that I read were very easy to read. Almost too easy, if you know what I mean. At times I felt myself wanting just a bit more of an explanation of certain philosophies. However, I did practice a lot of the techniques that she introduced and found them to be tremendously helpful. A good read for someone who finds themselves to be a bit spacey and would like to feel more grounded.

The year I spent in clairvoyant training was absolutely life-changing. It convinced me that we are eternal spiritual beings, and there is a vast spiritual world around us, (on a higher vibration or frequency) that most people are completely unaware of. Many of the meditation and clairvoyance techniques we learned are covered in this excellent book by Debra Lynne Katz. The more advanced techniques are covered in Katz’s follow-up book, Extraordinary Psychic. During that year of training, I also learned that clairvoyance is something almost anyone can develop, by practicing the skills you can find in this book.

If you’re not familiar with clairvoyance, it’s the psychic ability related to vision or visual information. In a meditative state, you access information like you would in a dream, watching it play on your internal screen. At the same time, you may recieve clarifying information through another of your psychic channels, like telepathy or intuition. There are techniques for self-healing, directly accessing information, communicating with spirits, and more.

Katz shares her own experiences, as examples of real-life applications. Her writing style is friendly and easy to understand, making the book enjoyable as well as educational. If you’d like to develop your psychic abilities, this book is a great place to start.

I bought this book in good faith, as I work in Remote Viewing.
I sincerely regret buying this bloated, precious, and prissy work.
This all about what the author thinks she knows. It is very short on practical skills.
Yes, there is a LOT of work gone into the book. There is a LOT of things to do. However, there is so much instruction as to beggar belief.
If I was to meet her 'editor', (and I use that term very lightly) I would say, "You're fired!"
I was tiring at page 100. When I got to page 200, I knew I was in a verbal swamp.
The writer loves words. She loves to write. She can't help herself to show the reader how much she can write without taking a breath...Dear God!!! But it would be a revelation if she could teach without putting people (at least me) under verbal anaesthetic.
This is literary chloroform.
There are many books that teach well, the skill of clairvoyance etc.
This isn't one them.
BTW, I chucked it in the bin!

The author is a graduate of the Berkely Psychic Institute and now has her own business in Sedona, AZ. I'm finding this book to be a wonderfully comprehensive and sensible guide to understanding your natural abilities. For those who are new to the idea, it helps to take the wierdness out of the "psychic" idea & thinking of yourself as so and puts a practicle spin on the idea. For those who aleady know they are naturally clairvoyant and those who practice & play in the field, this is a great clarifier of many questions.

This was a useful read for the psychic who is also a paranormal investigator. There is a wealth of useful tools in this book, though I am still working with as nothing worthwhile happens overnight.

This book, like many other "practical" guides, appears comprehensive but falls short in actual usefulness. The fundamental concepts, which should be the core focus, are given equal weight to more advanced topics. While this approach isn't inherently flawed, it results in much of the book feeling inaccessible to beginners.
The basic information, crucial for understanding the subject, isn't emphasized enough. This makes it challenging for readers to progress beyond the introductory level. Once past the basics, the instructions become repetitive and, frankly, unengaging.
The final section, offering professional advice and potential scenarios in practice, suffers from the same issue. Its relevance is questionable for those still grappling with foundational concepts.
Despite these shortcomings, the book does contain valuable information. Readers who persist may find useful insights, but they'll need to sift through less relevant content to find them. Overall, it's an informative read, but one that could benefit from a more structured and beginner-friendly approach.

I “randomly” came across this book in a religiously affiliated thrift store of all places. Lol. To my surprise, it was a comprehensive review of the two years I spent in psychic training - same lineage. I loved it; but I think it could be difficult to understand how to actually give readings without the training and support a mentor provides and without the practice of your fellow students.

Katz was highly trained in her main tradition, but also fully trained in and integrated 'remote viewing' techniques. A first rate textbook.

I read this as part of a book discussion group. I don't want to be a psychic, so a lot of this book didn't interest me.

I am fairly certain this one comes from the right place. The author somewhat resembles Pastor Melissa Scott, and there have been times when I have worked on my posture.

I think I should add that I have heard somewhere that the egg won the fight regarding the hen by a score of around 300 million years. The egg was even proclaimed as "The definitive difference between mortality and immortality."
I actually can say that I know that people do have healing powers, and that is a fact that does make me feel a bit better about life. What is strange is how limited we are on Earth when it comes to using our inherent abilities, and I can't help but mention the song "Sound System" by Operation Ivy. On occasion, some of us: "Evince such power as is born of God, and such might as only the Eternal can reveal."

I will definitely re-read this book soon. There's simply too much for me to process at first reading. By trying some of the meditation principles, I've become more relaxed, and I'm learning to trust my intuition more. What's amazing is that it's proving stronger and more intuitive; improving like any muscle would with repetitive use.
Much of this book underscores what I already believe about faith and God's power to heal within all of us.
Katz's training in psychology and social work shows through in the caring way she speaks to the reader.

Recommended to anyone wishing to explore their own power through faith, their natural clairvoyance, intuition and healing abilities.

This is a must read for anyone who is interested in clairvoyance and healing in general. This book presents various tools that are not only useful for doing readings, but can also be used in your every day life when meditating or doing your daily tasks. This book provided me with different perspectives and techniques on the subject matter. Every person has the inherent capability of using their spiritual abilities. We all have spirits, and can access this. I recommend this book to everyone. The only thing I did not like, is that there are various spelling errors in the book. Looking forward to Debra's other books.
