Dumbledore doesn't make it in time for Harry's trial, and the outcome is very different. Harry is expelled, his wand snapped.

But he refuses to give up. And he is done waiting around for Albus Dumbledore to give him information.

Deciding to take his life into his own hands, Harry asks for training from several Order members, preparing himself to fight Voldemort while the whole wizarding world believes he's helpless and back in the muggle world.

Meanwhile, his friends are at Hogwarts, tackling their own problems in the form of Dolores Umbridge. Harry hadn't expected the separation to be so difficult - or for a certain mischievous redhead to make the waiting game they'd entered into so very excruciating.

He might have lost his home in Hogwarts, but with Sirius and Remus around, Harry begins to learn that rebuilding a family isn't as hard as he'd anticipated.

It started very trope-y (wandless casting, sealed will etc) and ended with tooth-rotting fluff, but somehow I really enjoyed reading it. Harry/George pairing was also unexpected, especially as it turned out that they were eyeing each other for over a year.
Yeah, definitely it was a guilty pleasure kind of fic.
Way of dealing with Horcruxes was pretty clever, and I wish I could read a spin-off about Gringotts' cursebreaker team.

not a pairing i'd usually go for but with fanfic i take what i'm given and am grateful for it. loved lily's boy by the same author so had to check this out! a cool premise and great execution

I quite enjoyed this take on a Harry with agency and intelligence, but still with human doubts and humor and emotions. George makes a lovely pairing for him (with mutually-agreed-upon but longing waiting for the right time for their relationship to advance), and this is a well-designed fixit where we don't wind up in mourning for anybody, neither Weasley nor WolfStar. The mechanism for horcrux-destruction makes sense, too.

Kinda ridiculous but I’m giving it 4 ⭐️ anyway. I have to love anything with old wolfstar. That last chapter was too far though I thought. And also at one point I realised how young Harry is and just..eugh? Hmmm… I do love some OP magic shenanigans though

Actually sweet fanfic. Things happen, most of them are not nonsensical, the fluff is somewhat earned and slow to build. Good finale, too!

Amazing; i love this fic so much! The characterisations are spot on for everyone. This is definitely the fic to read/reread when you need something fluffy and warm to give you a hug.
