Office Ethics Rule #1 - Do not date your boss. But aren’t rules meant to be broken?
Nora Ridgeway was comfortable in her relationship; her boyfriend was not. Now, jobless, homeless, and boyfriendless, Nora sets out for Washington D.C. to prove to herself—and her mother—that she can actually “adult”. Her “No more bad decisions” policy is tested right away when her new boss proves to be tall, dark, and broodily handsome. Can she resist his adorable dimple to keep her job and her dignity? Andrew Forrester is Mr. I-Don’t-Do-Relationships. He’s focused on his career and doesn’t have time for emotional females. Until he watches his new assistant swimming in a bikini and wonders what it would be like to trace the drops of water on her body with his tongue. Unfortunately, rule #1 of having a subordinate is “No touching”. But, what if no one found out? Can Nora and Andrew figure out a way to navigate an office romance while still each getting what they want?
Hi Readers! I am a writer, reader, wife, mother, teacher, and photographer. I married my high school sweetheart - a real-life second chance love story! - and have been a hopeful romantic ever since. When I'm not reading swoon-worthy romances or letting my characters take over my stories, you can find me sipping on a fountain soda with a true crime documentary on TV.
At least I wish that was all I had to do. Usually I'm chasing my two daughters around with my camera, grading papers, or cleaning up after the animals on our mini-farm in rural Maryland (at least goats, chickens, dogs, and cats are cute, right?).
I have a BA in English-Secondary Education, a BA in Psychology, and a Masters of Arts in Liberal Arts where I focused on writing, photography, and juggling. Yes-juggling. I still practice in my kitchen much to the horror of my husband and delight of my kiddos.
How to Date Your Boss is the first book in Karaganda Hale’s new How To Date series which focuses on Nora Ridgeway, who is assistant to Andrew Forrester, her new boss who doesn’t believe in employee fraternization. However, Andrew has never had to resist someone like Nora who he is strongly attracted to and can’t forget. This fast paced book is an adventure in forbidden office relationships with wonderful characters and a plot with playful banter, drama, and steamy chemistry. I highly recommend this amazing office romance.

I really enjoyed this office romance. It was super sweet and I really liked the characters a lot. I loved the way Andrew and Nora negotiated things. I felt like they were super cute. Essix was an awesome friend and I got a kick out of Andrew musing about her name (Six). I actually laughed quite a bit with this book.
Nora was comfortable in her relationship, but her boyfriend was not. After talking to her best friend, she sets out for Washington D.C. to prove to herself and her family that she can “adult”. Her new personal policy of “No more bad decisions” is tested as soon as she meets her new boss.
Andrew doesn't do relationships. He's focused on writing and his job. While he watches his new assistant swimming, he wonders what it would be like to be with her. But rule #1 of having an assistant is “No touching”.
This story is sweet but sexy and a lot of fun. I definitely recommend reading this book.

A really good and exciting romance with a gripping well-developed plot that is fluid and flows smoothly. It is a fast pace, page-turner that is drama-filled, funny, emotionally deep, and witty. Amazing characters; the chemistry between them is off the charts! Definitely recommended.

Rules are meant to be broken right? This is the story just about that. The story was interesting, the characters have great chemistry. Will Nora and Andrew get their happy ending?
This is a cute sexy romance. Nora goes to Washington DC to start over. Her new boss is Andrew. They have an instant connection but will they break their own rules

This is an intense story line that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and turns and hot chemistry. Lots of excitement. A thrilling must read, every page will have you enthralled and panting for more. Let’s not forget to mention the chemistry of these two.
Nora’s boyfriend of a year, that she live with dropped a bombshell. Basically, nice knowing you, you’ve two weeks to get out, oh and I’m just off on my next business trip! She should’ve seen the signs but she honestly hadn’t. Homeless and jobless, her best friend Six tells her that there’s a job available at the publishing house where she works. She’s overqualified to be a PA, but it’s a job and in her area of interest. So when she has a Skype interview and gets the job, she’s packs up and drives six hours to Washington to start the following week. Her boss however, is gorgeous and the two of them have an undeniable chemistry that sizzles constantly in the background. Andrew is a commitment-phobe. Four dates tops. But it’s only because he hasn’t met the right woman yet. Nora is funny, professional, scatty at times, blushes beautifully, is beautiful, but he’s her boss. When a business dinner with her ex leaves tensions running even higher, they embark in a passionate night that could end everything, or begin so much more. This book is brilliant. It’s well written, interesting and entertaining throughout. The characters are all three dimensional and believable and Nora and Andrew’s chemistry through the roof. Superb!

I’m not too into office romances, but this one was SO well done, it had me hooked from the start. The slow build was AMAZINGLY written - I’m such a “get to the action already” reader, but this build up kept me totally enthralled. Props to the author, because that’s so not me.
I did feel that the big ending was a bit too big... I didn’t really feel the building of love as much as I’d have liked to. Lust, yes. Feelings, budding. But I definitely did NOT get the “love” vibe from either of them at the time that they pronounced it.
The only other grievance I have is that the author switched POV a few times mid-paragraph, which was confusing for me as the reader to follow. This was minor, though.
Overall, this was a great read and I’m excited to read more by this author! Six was great, so I’m gonna hop on over to read her story. 😍
It started out promising with the guy defending himself about being a player. He said he only got a few dates in before he decided the girl wasn't what he was interested in and moved on. But later in the book he was saying stuff about his 4 date rule and losing his man card if he told his brother about how he was acting (admiring her eyes or something that was not a big deal). So I didn't respect his character as much as I could have. And I also didn't like when they went back to her hotel room and she said stop but then he came back because he saw the desire in her eyes. It would have been much better of it was a clear yes with no back and forth. It didn't fit the scene coming off of the ex trying to force himself on her. I would have liked to see one or two more dates or whatever before I love yous were exchanged.
Good story. Definitely a solid boss-employee romance. Some parts had me guessing. I loved: that although the H was well off, he was not supposed to be billionaire level, just well enough off to own 2 apartments. Pretty good amount of sex scenes. Not till past the 50% mark but not bad. Slight problems (but that's only bc the rest of the story was good). Sex scenes, the fully described ones, were hot but could have been hotter and the girl got oral but not the guy. Heroine's struggle with her lack of independence was a bit irritating/sometimes juvenile sounding. Could have done w longer initial relationship and separation period. Definitely solid boss romance for the KU universe.
Nora is given two weeks to vacate the apartment she shared with her boyfriend. He says it's not working and wants her to leave. She is stunned but determined to start a new life without him. Her dear friend, Six gets her a job interview as a personal assistant to Andrew in publishing. How they get through the many challenges and difficulties is both humorous and heartwarming. I enjoyed their chemistry and their unique approach to difficult situations. It's a good story.
The story is fast paced office romance. The characters are wonderful and I enjoyed the conversations between them I loved how Nora would think aloud and put her foot in her mouth everytime. The story keeps moving from the point of view of both the characters. I loved the sense of humour and how both Andrew and Nora got what they wanted from each other. Six makes an appearance off and on and we will read more about her in How to date your ex. Waiting to read all the books in the series.
We start out feeling sorry for Nora and her break up but we quickly move on to Nora and Andrew the center of our story. They have great wit and banter together. And we have all watched enough rom -coms and have read enough romance to know a sarcastic relationship at work is going give off major heat in the bedroom. Karigan Hale is a master writer at adding steam and humor in equal doses while giving us main characters we love and side characters we need.
This book is about Andrew and Nora. Andrew has a strict on employee fraternization rule, but then again Andrew has never had a Nora around. Andrew's strong attraction to Nora, makes him realize that sometimes rules are made to be broken and forbidden office relationships are maybe a really good reason to break the rules.
Enjoyed the quick read. A bit "fluffy", but in a good/cute way. Had me laughing out loud at unexpected moments. I really enjoyed that alot. Too few books give that to the reader!!! Thank you for your written words. Keep up the good works and the fun and laughter. BLESSINGS!!
This is my first romance by Mizz Karigan. I loved the office setting & absolutely loved to hate Mindy. Six was a hoot & the great SISTERhood Six & Nora had. I laughed so hard during my read plus shot Diet Pepsi out my nose, too. Mizz Karigan gets my score of 4 finger up & 10 toes for this office tale.
Amazing Book. I couldn't stop reading it. Loved the chemistry between these two, and its a story I know I'll be reading again. Now I have to read all the rest of her books, because I think I'm hooked.
This is the first book I have read in ever so long, that didn’t make me roll my eyes, and wonder why on Earth the writer even bothered. Well done! No Scooby Doo Mystery, minimal ‘angst’. Just a nice romance. What a refreshing change!
When a book has a great pace - it just falls into a great read. Nothing is boring and the conversation of quippy remarks that are a real part of everyday conversation and especially relationships. I have quickly moved to the next book for more great pace reading,
