New York City Romance #4

Hamptons Heartbreak

Rate this book
One beach house.
Two months.
Countless lies.
What could go wrong?

It was supposed to be the perfect summer job.
Housesitting in the Hamptons.
And then he showed up.
Lance Welles.
Moody. Broody. Wealthy. Sexy.
And cocky. So damn cocky.
He’ll let me stay for the summer.
But only if I pretend to be his girlfriend.
I agree. Why wouldn’t I?
It’s not like I’ll fall in love.

The first time I saw Vivienne Radcliffe,
she was in a fire-engine-red bikini.
Setting fire to my house.
Well, not exactly my house.
The garden of my Hamptons estate.
She says the house is hers for the summer.
But it isn’t long before I realize . . .
I want Vivienne to be mine forever.

ღ Did you ever realize that there is only something like 98 to 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day

Once upon time Vivienne Radcliffe had the perfect life, oh damn my bad, that was just Yesterday, she had her dream job, lived in an amazing apartment in Manhattan, and was wildly in love with a man who made her feel like the luckiest girl in the world, then it all came crashing down on her
Today she jobless, homeless, and single. Until of course her bff comes to her aid. Savannah went in on a summer share house in the Hamptons, where she could live full-time, rent-free, to take care of anything that comes up in the house until Labor Day. In plain English clean up this shared house every weekend…. Sound like perfect job for the summer right…… haha….
Anything is possible in the Hamptons.

description

Lance Welles is self-made billionaire, man who once upon time lived in the poorest part of the Hamptons. He somehow put himself through college and made something of himself. Now he back in the Hamptons for the summer

The Hamptons is hookup central, filled with good-looking men and women looking for a good time. Wall Streeters blowing off… But it’s also great place to find wealthy and well-connected philanthropists to join his and Tripp new Foundation

I don’t know about you, but I just love the characters that Tara Leigh created for her stories

I just ardor the way Vivienne give Lance so much sass and sarcasm… I fell in love with this read from start to finish… Their chemistry was sizzling and this book was simply impossible to put down. Good news is this is Standalone read….. Happy Reading

Hamptons Heartbreak by Tara Leigh is a perfect summer read with scorching hot chemistry and heartaching feels. The author has turned up the heat in this billionaire fake relationship romance with two captivating lead characters. This story has relaxing holiday vibes equally along with steamy and swoonworthy connections.

Vivienne has lost her boyfried ( who is a complete worthless man) and her job and her staying place and she has to come back to her parents' house. So she eagerly takes an opportunity to housesit a gorgeous beachfront mansion in Hampton. Till Lance Welles arrives at his own house to find that his realtor has been renting it and a gorgeous redhead is here as caretaker. He doesn't tell the truth but convinces her to stay here..to furnish the house and to play his fake girlfriend through the social season. Only..nothing is fake about their feels.

It was an innovative and interesting take on fake relationship trope. Because before Lance proposed the deal, they were already getting to know each other as Vivienne was staying in the house. There was so much chemistry that I felt I will combust myself if they don't do something about it! The slow burn was so good! In fact the moment Lance made the deal, it became complicated and the angsty torture started. Lance has made a name of himself and he may own a famous cybersecurity company now but he came from nothing and he cannot stop thinking that women want to be with him for money only. The deal was a shield for his dark heart falling for someone. On the other hand, Viv has been hurt so badly and Lance just shook whatever trust she had on him by suggesting the deal. She is a firecracker and she won't let any man dictate her dreams and wishes. Lance is a perfect balance of arrogant and charming, cocky and thoughtful, aggressive and caring..But the hero is really the chemistry! I probably sound repetitive but I cannot emphasise enough just how beautifully every emotion was brought to life between Lance and Vivienne. The setting of Hampton was amazing and I loved the scenery!

The intense and brilliant writing of Tara Leigh made me fall in love with Hamptons Heartbreak! Gorgeous set up. Amazing characters. All the swoon, sex and feels! What more do you need from a great romance?

You know when you start a story you get all anxious wondering how it will start and how it will end? And you know within the first paragraph that it will be epic? I felt that when I started this story and I couldn’t put it down. This truly deserves more than five stars. My emotions are all over the place, my heart is full and I’m so glad I read this delightful book.

If you have read the other books in this series, then you were introduced to Lance. If not, no worries, this story will make you feel like you already know him. Lance may be rich but money doesn’t make the man, he does just fine on his own. He made me swoon so many times, my head is spinning. When he unexpectedly meets Vivienne, the way it’s described how he feels makes you fall in love with him. He is intrigued by her and wants to know more about her.

As for Vivienne, she is a complete breath of fresh air. Beautiful, smart, witty and so down to earth. She is perfect for Lance because she doesn’t care about how rich he is. Her first encounter with Lance made me chuckle, but I just knew something great would become of these two. They have such incredible chemistry and just mesh so well together.

But can a relationship start based on lies? Can two people who you know in your heart belong together, get past the deceit? I laughed, I cried and I cheered for them throughout the entire story. If you want to read a story that will make you feel all kinds of emotions, make your heart hurt, and then happy again?? Then do yourself a favor and read this book! It is one of my top favorites by this author and is yet another reason I will continue to read her books.

Hamptons Heartbreak, another spectacular read by Tara Leigh, is a fantastic contemporary romance. Ms. Leigh's words have once again kept me attached to my kindle from start to finish. I love the characters she created for this story. Vivienne left her job as an interior designer, her boyfriend and her apartment when her boyfriend kept her from getting an assignment. Her friend talks her into taking a job working at a share house for the summer. Lance arrives at his home in the Hamptons and finds out fairly fast that his realtor rented it out for the summer as a share house. Lance and Vivienne's story is packed with drama, humor and sexy bits. I loved every page of this book and look forward to my next book by Tara Leigh. Hamptons Heartbreak is book 4 of the A New York City Romance Series but it can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Vivienne Radcliffe just lost the job of her dreams, the man she thought she'd marry and an amazing apartment. She has no other option than to move back home to live with her parents, until her best friend comes to her aid. Savannah went in on a summer share house in the Hamptons, and she asks Vivienne to live with her full-time, rent-free, to take care of anything that comes up in the house until Labor Day. Everything is going well until Lance Welles arrives and realizes that someone is living in HIS house. What he doesn't know is that his realtor sublet the home and he walks in to find the most gorgeous redhead he's ever seen, in the process of cleaning his bathroom. Vivienne has no idea that he's the owner and tells him to start cleaning the bathroom down the hall. Lance has never seen anything or anyone like Viv. The girlfriend he thought was "the one" ended up proving to him that she only wanted him for his wallet. But, Vivienne, she only wants him to clean! Lance had a difficult start in life, with a mother who never wanted him, but a stepsister who was his world. She was murdered and he lost a little part of his soul. Vivienne has what most would call a perfect life, with parents who love her and each other. But she knows something, something that breaks her heart and sours her on love. To make matters worse, her boyfriend, Richard, just broke up with her the same day she lost her job. They're both damaged and, definitely, not looking for love, but love finds you when you least expect it. This is a wonderful addition to the New York City Romance series. Tara Leigh is an author who writes captivating stories with richly imagined characters. I was rooting for Vivienne and Lance and loved seeing both of them transform together and heal each other. The secondary characters are familiar from their own stories and, as always, grabbed at my heartstrings.

I DEVOURED this perfect summer read in one sitting!!

Tara is a favorite of mine, her books never disappoint and I know I can always trust her to deliver a story that will immediately hook me and Hamptons Heartbreak was no different!

Lance and Vivienne have crazy chemistry that makes this book so enthralling, their banter and push & pull is tantalizing and enticing. A close proximity, fake relationship and billionaire romance blended perfectly!

I love Vivienne, she's funny, kind, super resilient and strong. You can definitely say she's been having a rough few weeks, you know those times where it just feels like the world is against you? Finally things are looking up when she at least has a place to lay her head down for awhile....a beautiful Hamptons beach house that she just needs to house sit for the summer, what can go wrong?

Lance, if you've read the previous books in this series then you are familiar with him, if not that's okay you can totally hop into this book and get to know this charming, cunning, brilliant, sexy and layered man. I love Lance.....deep sigh. There's so much more to him then you initially see with the flashy car, and fancy clothes and what he portrays to the world. Imagine his surprise when he walks into his house and sees a house sitter that he never hired.

I looooove the way these two meet and the way they interact.....I love how things were brewing between them before they even seemed to realize it and I can tell you one thing, you'll never look at a pool jet quite the same way ever again.

Sexy, fun, emotional with a touch of angst, Hamptons Heartbreak is your next amazing read!

5 Star Review Hamptons Heartbreak (New York City Romance #4)by Tara Leigh
This is Lance Welles and Vivienne Radcliffe’s story and one that had me immersed from the first chapter. I loved this book, it was fun, entertaining and ticked all the boxes for me. I fell hard and fast for Lance; I was intrigued by him when we met him in previous books in the series and this book had me falling hard, he is my new book boyfriend.

This is probably my favourite book so far, there is nothing I didn’t enjoy about Hamptons Heartbreak. From the moment Lance sets eyes on Vivienne, he knows there is something special about her.

The banter between them was witty and it was entertaining to watch as their relationship which starts based on a lie morphed into so much more. The chemistry between them is passionate, intense and way to hard to ignore. I loved the growth of these characters as the story unfolded and I was really cheering for these two to get the happily every after that they deserved.

A summer read for sure!

As if summer isn’t hot enough, this couple steams up my whole kindle in the best way possible with sexy and witty banter.

Lance and Vivienne were made for eachother.

I loved Vivienne’s feisty self. Along with Lance’s alpha tendencies.

He for sure needed to grovel more in my book.

All in all I enjoyed binging this one!

Miscommunications, misunderstandings, falling for someone, losing people, longing, and needing more this book has it all and I loved every up and down of it all. To say Vivienne was having a bad week would be putting it mildly since she walked away from a horrible relationship, job, and home. She ends up back at her parent’s house not wanting to be there until her friend tells her about an opportunity in the Hamptons. Vivienne works hard, is loyal, wants to prove herself, and to be loved but when she meets Lance, she starts stereotyping the rich guy right away. Lance has been burnt before and coming from nothing, working hard to be something, he has right to be hesitant of other motives. He can come off as rude at times, but as much as he fights his attraction, he knows there is no stopping it when it comes to Vivienne. Like I said there are many ups and downs that lead to so many misunderstandings between the two and if they had been upfront to each other the heartbreak wouldn’t have happened. This book was funny, steamy, and beautifully written. I loved each character (except Eva is still lurking around, sorry not sorry still not a fan of hers because of Nash), they had an easy-going banter yet when it came to talking about the deep stuff, they were both afraid. Can things go in their favor, or will they walk away because of fear? Can Lance realize not all people are money hungry and accept the love he deserves? Lance and Vivienne were funny, and she helps him see that sometimes it is ok to stop, look around to see the beauty in the world.

Overall: 5 / 5

Hamptons Heartbreak is the fourth book in A New York City Romance series written by author Tara Leigh. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple and can be read as a standalone romance. However, if you’re like me and enjoy knowing all of the background stories, I suggest reading the series in chronological order. I also recommend reading the series as they’re all amazing books! Just know it’s only a suggestion.

Hamptons Heartbreak is a fake relationship/billionaire romance that tells the story of Lance Welles and Vivienne Radcliffe. I was first introduced to Lance in Park Avenue Princess, and I’ve been looking forward to reading his story for some time now. Oh, and it was well worth the wait!

Now, I don’t want to go into too much detail and spoil it for you. Although, I got to say that I love how Lance and Vivienne met. Their chemistry was sizzling and simply impossible to put down.
Hamptons Heartbreak is definitely one of my favorite books in the series. It’s a one-click, must-read, stay-up-late kind of book!

Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Great book! My first time reading from this author and it was a great one!

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE not over the top though lol

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE IS A SMART HARD WORKING WOMAN! I love that the heroine never take the hero’s money seriously or a big deal. I love that the heroine loves to work hard and always continues to be creative even when she’s having a hard time, idk thats just so cool to me

‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS JEALOUS SCENES FROM BOTH BUT NOT TOO MUCH THO

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS NOT A MANWHORE

‼️‼️‼️ELECTRICITY touch on first sight something like that, not love in first sight

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS PUSHING AWAY MOSTLY FROM THE HERO and less from the heroine but not too much and not too annoying

‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION FOR 2 MONTHS BUT BOTH ARE LOYAL AND NEVER TOUCH ANYONE ELSE. BOTH ARE ACTUALLY BUSY AND THEN THE HERO COME TO HIS SENSE AND CHASE AFTER THE HEROINE.... great meeting up again because the hero literally begging and the heroine really make it hard for him so thats nice of her😂 like she really didn’t jump to the hero say yes i take you back, nope, she make it hard at first so thats cool! I don’t see many love story have that so its cool to see this heroine really make the hero feel super guilty 😜

‼️‼️‼️DRAMA WITH OW AND OM but not too annoying and not too much

‼️‼️‼️i love that the hero even when he’s not in a relationship with the heroine yet, but when someone ask does he have a girlfriend he said yes and he proudly say to anyone “I’m seeing someone” idk for me thats just nice of him. Especially in that moment there are so many girls in the party but he really step away every time any girl tries to touch him or talk to him😂

‼️‼️‼️VERY HOT SMUT SCENES🤤🤤🤤

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING... five years later and married and have a cute baby 🥺🥺🥺🥺

‼️‼️‼️Their chemistry is just so great and romantic but sometimes annoying because both have doubts inside of their head about each other. But i love that both really want each other and really knows that they are the one 🥺🥺🥺

“I can tell her I’m feeling things for her that I’ve never felt before with anyone.”

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

I've read the previous books in A NYC Romance series and couldn't wait for Hamptons Heartbreak. I was not disappointed!!! I was hooked from the first chapter.

"Sometimes you can’t move forward until you go back to the beginning."

Lance Welles grew up poor, in the outskirts of the Hamptons. He put himself through college and made something of himself. Yes, he became a billionaire. He sees himself as a fraud of sorts, that he doesn't truly belong. His youth and a personal tragic loss has shaped him into who he is.....and oh boy is he sexy, protective and a bit of an alphahole with a side of vulnerability. Now he's back in the Hamptons where the elite rich live and where he unexpectedly meets his match. Vivienne. She is sassy, a little bit quirky, and has a lot of strength. She’s just had her heart broken and she's down on her luck. To say he wasn't expecting her is an understatement! Their meet cute is hilarious, their back and forth banter is on point and their chemistry is off the charts!! I enjoyed the way their love story played out....with humor, romantic gestures and a little angst.

There is just so much to love about Lance and Vivienne's story. It truly hit me in all the feels and had me tearing up when they got their HEA.

I absolutely loved it. Vivienne I
Is great. Her life is in upheaval right now and her friend offers an opportunity to get away and to help get her life back on track by house sitting in the Hamptons. She jumps at the opportunity because she doesn't want to field questions from her parents.
Lance is a rich businessman looking to take a break from everything and everyone. These two meet at the house and Lance offers Vivienne a deal to play his girlfriend while there. This is just the start of things and I was hooked from then on.
I loved their interaction and there was definitely a lot of heat between these two. I loved the story and once I really got reading, I didn't want to put it down. I couldn't have asked for a better story.

I knew this story would be amazing as soon as I started reading. I also knew that it would be one to lose sleep over because I didn’t want to put it down. Well-written, characters I adored and wanted to hate, but wound up loving even more, and not knowing how it would ultimately end. Lance and a Vivienne may be opposites but both are more similar than they think. What happens next is something you will find out when you pick up this fantastic book upon release. Do not hesitate to add it to your tbr because it’s one you cannot miss.

Yasssss! So here for a fake relationship {side note, pretty woman(ish)} fairy tale!

I loved this!

Vivienne. Yessss. Loved her. Hits the skids. Walks from her job. Relatively homeless. Her friend offers her up as caretaker at a ‘share house’ in the Hampton’s.

Lance. Love. This. Guy. Goes to his Hampton’s house and finds a chic there and the house is not what he expected.

Awesomeness ensues.

I highly recommend!!

2.5 ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ stars

I was really excited to read this book, and while I was initially right on board, twists took the story in a direction that I wasn’t expecting, and sadly I struggled with it.

What I expected: a fun, emotional and swoony fake-romance love story
What I got: unnecessary drama and angst – neither of which I cope well with… *sigh*

This book is part of the New York City Romance series, but it can be read as a standalone. Just be aware that there is some character crossover (Lance is best friends with Tripp from Legacy of Lies – now called Park Avenue Princess), so beware spoilers for that book.

Vivienne’s life has just been turned upside down. She’s left her job, her boyfriend, and she’s homeless. So when she finds a gig housesitting in the Hamptons for the summer, she’s thrilled. Not only is it a sort-of vacation, but it gives her the opportunity to get away from it all for a while and plan her next step. And then Lance shows up.

Lance is a self-made tech millionaire who owns the house that Vivienne is staying in. When he turns up for the summer, he has no idea that she has been organised to stay there, but he’s immediately intrigued and allows her to stay as caretaker. The lust blooms quickly, and it’s not too long before they are all over each other at every opportunity and heading down the road to a potentially blissful romance. But Lance is in town to schmooze local investors at a series of social events, and when he offers to pay Vivienne to act as his girlfriend for the summer at his work functions… things get complicated.

In my soul, I know nothing about this summer will be easy.
Not the lying.
Not the truth.
And definitely not goodbye.

It’s a fun set-up, and the potential was there for a fantastic love story, and while the romance is initially really quick moving, I could see the chemistry between them, their passion for each other is explosive, and I was keen to see their relationship develop. But sadly, before it gets a chance to really get going, it all falls apart due to lack of communication and misunderstandings. The rest of the book is mostly just drama and angst, all of which could have been avoided if they just. Talked. To. Each. Other. So rather than feeling it with them and empathising with their pain and longing, I just got annoyed at both of them. They both handled the situation badly, their problems could have been resolved with one conversation, but instead, they kept misinterpreting everything, and spiralling further and further down into angst-ville.

I am such a hypocrite.
Because I’m not just pretending in public. I’m pretending in private, too.
Pretending I’m not falling for Lance a little more every day.
And it’s terrifying.

*sigh*

There are some sweet moments between these two – when they’re being real, and they let their walls down. They even admit to each other that when they’re not pretending to be a couple, it’s easy and natural, and those are the scenes that kept me reading. But then they’d go back to lies and not talking to each other, and there was just too much unnecessary drama for me, and it left me feeling frustrated that what could have been a great romance was instead lots of whining and pining between two intelligent people who wanted each other desperately, but could not figure out how to have one conversation to fix the problem.

There is a happy ending, but I’d kind of lost interest by that point, which is a shame.

2.5 stars and another *sigh*

This cover is SO Lance! I loved him and Vivienne together despite wanting to smack them both in the head a few times. They come from very different worlds when they meet but they have more in common than they would have expected.

Lance came from humble beginnings and has worked hard to make sure he never wants for anything again. He has been burned by love in the past though and has all but shut down his emotions and approaches everything from an analytical viewpoint. Lately he finds his life lacking direction. Even the most thrilling adventure doesn't hold his interest and he isn't sure what comes next, but he certainly didn't expect to find a vivacious redhead in his new Hamptons house when he arrives.

Vivienne just had her heart and dreams shattered by an entitled rich jerk who treated her as if she was disposable, and it cost her a home and the job of her dreams. Now she is back in the Hamptons for the summer trying to regroup and earn enough money to secure an apartment in the city in the fall to chase a new dream... if only she knew what direction to take next. Lance arouses her suspicion when he arrives at the share house she bought into for the summer, and it's not long until he just plain arouses her.

Secrets and lies of omission underlay their interactions, and if you are looking for a bright, shiny, smooth path to their HEA, this is not the book for you. They both have reason to proceed with caution and protect their hearts, and jumping to conclusions leads to more than a few misunderstandings. They have chemistry to spare though, and they cannot stay away from each other despite their missteps. Tripp and Jolie provide a few well placed nudges to finally get them on the right path, and I loved the dual epilogues which provided great closure to their story. I hope we get to see more of them in future books of the series, but Hamptons Heartbreak was a great story I will re-read in the future!

Thank you to Grey's Promotions for providing me this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Okay, I'm undecided whether to give this 2.5 or 3 stars. Why? Because the blurb sounded so promising and instead here I'm sitting, finished at last, and the only thing I have on my mind is what book to pick up next. I really thought this would be a great summer read considering the tropes for the book were, among others, fake dating and roommates to lovers, but ... unfortunately it didn't pull it off.

It's a light read and the time passes by quickly, even though I didn't really connect with the characters or the story. I can't put my finger on why exactly this wasn't to my taste besides that it lacked a bit of depth and things happened way too fast without any build-up.

Anyway, someday in the future I might give this another try again.

4 1/2 Stars for the Viking and his redhead!

Another great story for this series! Vivienne is my favorite character in this series. She doesn't take anything from anybody and I love her sarcastic mouth. And Lance ... who wouldn't love a handsome Viking that loves to be naked ... no really ... who? I laughed so hard at the situations Vivienne would get her into. And Lance was so smitten with her and didn't know what to do with her because he was used to women only wanting to be with him because of his bank account. Not only do I recommend this book ... I recommend the whole series!

When Vivienne loses her boyfriend, job and home on the same day, she bounces right back and takes a job house sitting in the Hamptons for the summer. She just didn't realize that she would be babysitting adults who party like teenagers. That is until a Viking walks in like he owns the place ... and he actually does. When Lance walks into his house in the Hamptons, he's shocked to see the state it's in. When he spies a beautiful redhead in his backyard standing beside a burning bush, he rushes to save his property and get an explanation from her. He realizes that she has no idea who he is so he pretends that he's renting the house for the rest of the summer and hires her to remove the shabby furniture and make it more homey. But the chemistry is so strong between them they can't keep their hands off each other ... until Lance asks Vivienne to be is "fake" girlfriend.

4.5 Hot Summer Stars!

Perfect summer read. I loved that Lance is not your typical Billionaire Bad boy and Vivienne was not your damsel in distress, she was kicking butt and taking names. They both were following their dreams, even in the midst of lies and deceit. The chemistry between these two felt right and the banter was a plus. It had me hooked from the very beginning and I was not let down along the way.

Well done Tara, can't wait for more!

Yooo, I know I said this on the last one but this one without a doubt was my fav in the series! This relationship, the setting… it was immaculate! All the summer and steam vibes. So entertaining and just some good ole romance. And Tara always knows how to make it a tad emotional! Her angst always gets to me and my heart really hurt for Vivienne in some scenes.

Lance was probably my fav hero too and I loved how close he and Tripp were. It was good to see him and Jolie and how happy they were. I love when I get to catch up with characters from previous books in a series of interconnected standalones.

I’m reading excited for the two (confirmed) next books in the series! They both sound really promising!

Tara has my heart once again with this story.
The characters, dialogue and all the emotions that were brought up while reading it makes it another must read story for me.
The fake marriage that is actually not so fake, the glamorous life that is not so glamorous behind the scenes, the envy and greediness of some characters (aka her ex) , the sweet friendship and most of all, the love. That love that blooms between Nixie and Nash is beautiful and raw and … steamy. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Love seeing this author return to writing again and on form!

"I needed Lance to kiss me, to touch me, to soothe me. I've known this man for less than forty-eight hours, and I want him more than my next breath."

Vivienne Radcliffe has lost her boyfriend, her job and her home in one go. She's back in the Hamptons with the unsavoury prospect of moving back in with her parents. However, luck is on her side when her bestie proposes that she becomes the 'housekeeper' of a luxury summer house share in Southampton, while she plans what's next. When a gorgeous, Viking-esque stranger shows up at the house, he's the last thing she expected to plan for.

"I only knew that this gorgeous, sarcastic, irreverent girl was in my house, and I wanted her to stay."

Lance Welles is planning to stay in the house he's recently bought so he can be close to his friends and business partner for the summer. The last thing he expects to find is that his house appears to have been turned into a holiday pad for complete strangers, and a forthright, sexy woman bossing him around. With a little subterfuge, he ends up with a housemate for the summer, and with a proposal she can't refuse, he ends up in another kind of subterfuge. One that could cost them both their hearts.

"His eyes, though, are molten pools of intensity, locking onto mine in an electrified clash that singes the very fibers of my soul.""

I adored this story. I loved Vivienne. She was confident, sassy and sweet. I loved her manner, her creativity and her passion. I thought she was exactly what Lance needed in his life. A workaholic billionaire, Lance doesn't trust easily, but I loved how Vivienne got under his skin with her genuine, down-to-earth personality and her love of simple things. The two of them were FIRE!! Their chemistry was thrilling and palpable. I loved that sometimes, they didn't need words, they just seemed to understand each other, but fundamentally, they also just needed to put aside their personal demons and lay their feelings on the line. I enjoyed the push-and-pull of their relationship and adored the ending.

Hamptons Heartbreak
A New York City Romance Series Book #4
Release Date: August 12, 2021
Review Copy Provided by the Publisher

I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. Is it enough to just tell you to buy it and read it? Because you should absolutely do that.

The characters in this book are so likeable. From the beginning I was invested in their story. Lance and Vivienne instantly burned up the pages from their first meeting, whether it was during their witty banter ( a whole conversation about a man’s lack of aim while peeing 😂 ), or sultry their romps in the pool. Damn, those pool scenes are fucking delicious.

This is not a particularly angsty book, but there is a ton of emotion. Lance and Vivienne have tough exteriors, but there’s a lot of baggage and vulnerability under their armour. I love when the walls fall down and all the feels come spilling out.

Tara Leigh never fails to deliver a solid story that is character driven and ridiculously sexy. Hamptons Heartbreak is my favourite book in this series…so far! I can’t wait for the next instalment! Have I mentioned that you should just buy the book because it’s amaze balls?

Lance Welles and Vivienne Radcliffe meet at a Hampton house that Vivienne was hired to take care of. What she doesn't know is he owns it. Of course, sparks fly right away. Then the proposal...be his fake girlfriend for money. What happens when real feelings get involved?

I really enjoyed this book! Lance and Vivienne always assume something. You know what they say about assuming. 😉 The miscommunication leads to some entertaining situations but also some pain that could have been avoided. I loved the angst and the humor in this story. Lance was a jerk sometimes but then you realize he's just vulnerable and doesn't know how to handle it. Vivienne was just the person he needed to keep him on his toes.

I didn't read the others in this series but I didn't feel lost. I will definitely be checking the rest of the books out!

What an enthralling and tantalizing read! Hampton’s Heartbreak is a well written, forced proximity romance that capture my attention immediately. This was a quick read as I was so invested in the characters and their story that I couldn’t put the book down! I adore this author’s style of writing and I completely fell in love with both Vivienne and Lance.

Vivienne is down on her luck and yet she maintains a positive attitude. I admired her vibrant personality and her resilience. Lance is positively charming and swoon worthy and I found his backstory to be quire interesting. Their chemistry is off the charts and I really enjoyed the banter between the two of them. The way they meet is quite hilarious and there are definite sparks, but can a relationship develop and survive when there are miscommunication and lies?

The author has woven together a story that contains the perfect amount of drama, humor and steam, thus making this a very enjoyable and engaging read. If you have enjoyed the author’s previous works and/or you like forced proximity romances, then you do not want to miss out on this book!

Hampton’s Heartbreak is book 4 in this author’s New York City Romance series. It can be read as a standalone.

I have not read the previous books in the series but knowing this is the last one, I'm going to have read them. If Vivienne and Lance’s story is any indication, I'm sure the other books are amazing too. Their story was a whirlwind. From the beginning, the spark and sexual tension between these two are off the charts. And I really enjoyed the banter between them.

I loved how their story started and went about. It's filled with the perfect amount of drama, humour, angst and swoons. I really enjoyed this book.

Vivienne life is going through a lot of changes when she gets an offer to keep an eye on a house in the Hamptons. She decides it’s the perfect opportunity to decide what she wants to do. Lance has a house in the hamptons and decides to go stay there for a little bit but is in for a shock. When Vivienne and him meet the attraction is definitely there but will anything come of it?
