Quick, cute, insta-love story with a little steam. No idea why it’s titled the way that it is - they were in the city the whole time, not on a beach 🤷🏼♀️

This romance begins by a woman, who is a bit of a mess, sitting down into the car of a stranger and thinking it's a share ride. The two end up spending the night together and they both feel a connection but just leave it at that and go their separate ways.
In the months that follow, Rhett can't keep his mind off of Calliope and is determined to find her. It's a good thing he knows that she has Sunday brunch in one of his hotels every Sunday. In that time Calliope finds out that she's pregnant and has to find Rhett so that she can tell him.
It's a short and sweet love story with an accidental pregnancy. It's good for a quick hit of love and romance when you need it.

When Calliope opened the door to a town car that she was about to go on the biggest adventure of all. Rushing to attend a speed dating night she mistakenly thought that it was your average town car that is until she hands the driver an address and asks him to get her there ASAP, so when she discovers that he is just a man stuck in traffic, she’s embarrassed beyond belief. However Calliope has never been one to let anything hold her back long and when she engages Rhett they from a quick rapport. And their chemistry hits her like a lightening bolt, and she’s late now and Rhett appeals in a way she’s never felt or had before. They agree to a one night only with no names. Will they both really walk away and if they do will they find their way back to the beach or are they just driftwood?
Rhett isn’t your average Joe but the extraordinary Joe, as the CEO of his family’s hotel chain he hadn’t time for love , women or even really to take a shower. It’s been work work and more work for a long time he is the exact definition of a workaholic. The day he’s stuck in traffic in his town car and Calliope hops in, he can’t believe that this real but when it becomes obvious she thinks he is just a driver and when the traffic finally starts to move he hasn’t the time to tell her about her error. He can tell she’s embarrassed when she learns of her mistake, they strike a conversation and they take a detour to the beach, and they share a night to remember, they agreed no last names and it was only meant to be a one time thing. Will Rhett be able to find the woman who has stolen his heart and even if he finds her can he change his life from being nothing but work and finally let love in?
Really loved this book and I’m relatively new to this author but she’s right in my VIP author list. Recommended 4.2* read.

I seriously don’t understand why the title of the book is Billionaire on the Beach… cause there’s no beach to speak of during this novella… I understand that this romance is part of a series called Beach Babies, but still…
“Speed dating?” she says.

“An exercise in modern torture.”
The story starts with Calliope entering Rhetts town car in the middle of the traffic, thinking he’s her shared ride.
She’s headed to a speed dating location, despite her not wanting to, because of a promise she made to her friend.
“he’s hundred percent Mr. Married-to-his-job, driver of expensive cars and more expensive watches”
Rhett is one of those man that is married to his work. He eats, lives and breathes the Montgomery empire. After his father passed it was up to him to continue the family legacy.
Despite being born into wealth and despite the belief system he had growing up, Rhett’s values are far from those of his parents.
“I have a proposition,” I say.
His gaze darts to mine.
Wowzaa …
That is some steamy intensity in his gaze. Now I’m pretty sure my nipples could etch glass.
“Down boy. Not that kind of proposition,”
Calliope and Rhett spend the night together in his car, watching the sunset, talking about anything and everything and because of their mutual attraction they ended up being intimate.
When the night ends they go their separate ways.
“My point is that we don’t have anything in common.”
“Who says that is the only requirement for a lasting relationship. Did you like her? Did she make you laugh? Did she make you think about the future? Did you feel different with her than you do with anyone else?”
I really enjoyed this book.
I loved how Rhett went on a entire transformation just so he found himself to be worthy of Calliope.
Also his mother reaction was priceless!

Rhett and Calliope
Rhett and Calliope have such an exciting way of meeting. I loved how they met and got to know each other. It's the definition of insta love. They are the cutest thing ever. Their story is very fast paced and have such a way of getting back together that's great.

Fun fast paced read
Calliope jumps into the town car and asks the driver to take her to an address. Rhett Montgomery, billionaire, owns the town car and since traffic is backed up he thinks why not. But as they talk and get to knon each other can their one time lead them to forever. Great fast paced steamy read, great characters and fun. I loved it.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Rhett meets Calliope when she gets into his car when he's waiting in traffic. Calliope thinks that Rhett is her ride share, she's on her way to speed dating. There's a traffic jam and they only move a few inches when Calliope gets a message from her friend that she missed her ride share. Rhett introduces himself, then he decides that they could be sitting in traffic for hours. They pull into a parking garage and Rhett goes to the top, they start talking about movies and dating. They find out about each other's worst dates, then Rhett googles some of the worst dates. Calliope tells him her perfect man and how she wants to end up in house with a white picket fence in an enchanted forest. Rhett finds out that she is a children's illustrator and she mostly works at home. Rhett doesn't tell her that he's one of the owners of The Montgomery, the fancy hotel in town. Calliope tells him she eats at the Sea Glass which is located inside the Montgomery, every Sunday with her best friends. Rhett tells her he wants to kiss her and she asks him what's stopping him. Calliope climbs into his lap and starts to grind on him. She soon removes her shirt and Rhett starts to pleasures her. When he pulls out the condom which has been there longer than he wants to admit. Soon they are making love, when they are done Calliope admits she doesn't normally do one nights stands. Rhett takes her back to the spot she climbed into his car and drops her off. One months later, Rhett receives a package in the mail, it's the books Calliope illustrates. His sister Ainsley, I Kissed A Ghoul comes to find him and tells him he needs to find Calliope. Three months later, Calliope sits with her friends at the Sea Glass when she spots Rhett. She is wearing a overskirts sweater so she doesn't think he'll figure out she is pregnant. She notices he's with two other woman, but then he spots her and walks towards her. Calliope tells him she would like to talk to him privately, he tells her he's been trying to find her. Calliope tells him she's been trying to find him also. Rhett introduces his sister, Ainsley and then his mother. Calliope introduces her friends, Ally Knocking Up His Best Friend, Sadie Built to Last and Jillian Short-Term Shag. Rhett's mother realizes that Calliope is pregnant and he has his sister take her mother out of the dinning room. Calliope tells him that's what she needs to talk to him about. The girls asks Rhett a question before he takes off with Calliope, they want to if he owns the hotels. Rhett tells them his father did but now it's his job. Calliope tells Rhett that yes she is pregnant, and he tells her yes he's part owner of the hotel. Rhett walks her back to a room where they can talk privately. He tells her how much he missed her and she tells him she wants to talk about the baby. Calliope tells him she doesn't expect anything from him, he can decide how much involvement he wants. Rhett tells her he wants the baby he wants her. Calliope tells him to give it some time to sink in, she's had three months. Rhett tells her if she wants to take it slow they can, he tells her he wants to be with her. Rhett tells her he was showing up at the restaurant to tell her he wanted her and he brought along his sister and mother as back up. Rhett tells her he's has obligations he has a company to run and he needs to be the one who runs it. They have tens of thousands of employees who depend on him. He wants to find ways to work less, to delegate, that's what he's spent the last month doing. He didn't want to asks for more until he was worthy, but Calliope tells him he was always worthy. Calliope kisses him, and Rhett returns the kiss. Rhett tells her he doesn't need time to figures things out, he's in love with her. Rhett tells her this is their happy ever after, he wants to spend the days worshiping her. Calliope tells him she loves him and Rhett tells her he loves her. Great meet cute
This book is about Rhett and Calliope. Rhett is a workaholic, spending way too many hours in his office at Montgomery Inc., the company his father started five decades ago. He has no time or interest in dating, despite his mother pressuring him to find the perfect bride. For the first time in weeks, he leaves the office before ten, hoping to get home and just relax on his couch. But, he gets stuck in traffic, and when he’s stopped his car, a stranger gets into his car, thinking he’s driving the town car that was ordered for her. It isn’t until some more discussion, that the passenger, Calliope, realises he isn’t the driver she thought he was at all.
As they get to know each other a little bit, Calliope tells him that she’s a children’s book illustrator. He’d never met one before and was intrigued but he was becoming even more interested in her! Not wanting to disclose particular details, Rhett simply told her that his family worked in travel. There was no mention of him running the Montgomery hotel empire – one which she’s familiar with. She told him she loves to travel, but hasn’t been anywhere in a while, except for the Montgomery. Calliope and her girlfriends meet there every weekend for brunch. At the mention of one of his hotels, he quickly decides that he no longer wants to talk about work.
An unexpected detour in the traffic gives Rhett an idea. He suggests they just follow the detour and see what adventures lay ahead. Calliope whole-heartedly agrees, but then makes her own proposition (not the kind he was hoping for at this stage). She surmises that sitting in a parking garage would be less stressful than dealing with the traffic jam, and this time he agrees. Rhett surprises her by driving all the way up to the top, parking a a space that has a great view of the sky. It looks like a postcard, with the bright pink, orange and purple sunset. With the windows cracked open to let in the salty breeze, it’s perfect.
After sharing worst date stories and many laughs, the air is thicker with attraction and want. Rhett brazenly tells her that he really wants to kiss her. When she questions him why he can’t do it, he simply tells her that he’s not the type of guy she wants to be with. He’s not a white picket fence, cottage in an enchanted forest kind of guy, to which she replies perfectly, ““Not every kiss needs to lead to forever.” Boom! It’s quick and steamy, and they part ways amicably, with no regrets of what happened…
Some time after the garage incident, Rhett’s sister Ainsley is trying to convince him to get in touch with the girl that he obviously cannot stop thinking about. Calliope has also been thinking about him a lot, and it could be because of the little secret she has. But when he walks in on her and her girlfriends’ brunch, he’s going to find out. But how will he and his rich family react?
This was an enjoyable read with likeable characters and a fun storyline. I’m already looking forward to more from this series. I give this book four and a half stars.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Beach Babies series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Rhett is a sexy as all get out billionaire CEO of his family’s hotel chain, tired of being set up blind date after blind date by his mother and just wants to be loved by someone for him not his family’s monies. Rhett is a workaholic who gets stuck in a traffic jam on his way home from work one night. Calliope is a free spirit who works at home as a children story illustrator, and proclaims herself as the crazy lady as she always gets into situations unexpectedly. She thinks his car is her share ride to a speed dating night, and just jumps into the car and shows him where she needs to go. Her banter about anything under the sun surprises him and he likes it. He comments that she could easily have a complete conversation with herself... I love that remark. They go to the upper deck of a parking garage and watch the view while the traffic below clears up. Their few hours together skyrocket and they go their own way, only knowing first names. Three months later, they are searching for each other for different reasons, but both not being able to stop thinking of the other.

I loved this story! Calliope is feisty, sassy, spunky, funny, curvy, dizzy - but definitely her own woman. Right now she needs to meet her friend. Because she sometimes runs late her friend has sent a town car for her. Calliope gets into the back seat of a town car and waits for him to go. Much to her dismay she is in the wrong car. What happens is she sees a serious, no nonsense, good looking, well dressed man who hasn’t a clue who she is! And the story begins. Rhett is a serious, wealthy, billionaire of his family’s hotel business. Rhett doesn’t usually have an opportunity to meet someone like Calliope. Rhett and Calliope are in a traffic jam and because of it they start to talk. Calliope is someone who doesn’t have a problem talking to strangers. Rhett is finding he is actually enjoying Calliope’s presence. The conversation is entertaining, enjoyable, comical, spicy, sexy, flirty. The characters really click! They have an electricity, a chemical combustion. How is this going to turn out? There are surprises and disappointments as they navigate their course. The story is original, hot, and a hoot! I chuckled and laughed and it will leave you with a smile.

Rhett is the billionaire CEO of the family’s hotel chain and caught in traffic when Calliope jumps into his car thinking it is the car service that she was waiting for to attend a speed dating event. Rhett doesn’t have time to tell her about her mistake as traffic starts to move. Calliope is a children’s book illustrator and enjoys life as well as work while Rhett is a workaholic without much of a life outside of the office. When she realizes her mistake, Calliope is embarrassed but they begin a conversation and they both realize they are attracted to each other. Since she is too late for the speed dating event they pull over by the beach. Since they didn’t exchange last names will they ever see each other again after their encounter on the beach?
I enjoyed this very short instalove story and give it 4.5 stars. They only knew each other for hours but felt an immediate connection and then had to try to find each other again. A wonderfully sweet story of a workaholic that for once was going home reasonably early, when a woman gets into his town car handing him a piece of paper. It had an address across town on it. She looks at him funny and asks him if he speaks English. Of course he speaks English. She was one hot mess and just keeps on talking, even getting in the front seat with him. About that time her friend calls wanting to know why she did not take the hired car, she sent for her. The cutest look of confusion came over face as she realized her mistake. The were stuck in traffic, so there was nothing she could do but stay in the car besides by this time Rhett was actually enjoying himself for the first time in a long while. They may have been opposites, but they seemed to fit together. They dynamite chemistry with Calliope making want Rhett to become a better man, more able to balance work and his private life. They compared this story to some of the of the old time movies with great meet cutes, which I a agree. I received an advance readers copy of this book, in return for a voluntary honest review.

Omigosh!! This story was freaken adorable with lotsa steam!! I love accidental meeting stories… and Rhett and Calliope’s cute meet made me smile so much. These two were night and day, but I have no doubt that they will continuously balance each other out.
Kat Baxter’s stories always leave a wonderful glow in my heart… such amazing characters!! Another winner from the Queen of Adorkable!!

He now runs the families hotels and other businesses. He is a workaholic and doesn’t have time for dating. When Calliope jumps into Rhett’s car and gets stuck in traffic, the two spend the time getting to know each other. What will happen when the traffic jam is over?
Loved this book so much! Just tow people getting to know each other with no pressures and incredible chemistry. Love how Rhett looks out for Calliope from afar. This book made my heart melt.

Kat Baxter + the Flirt Club's Beach Babies multi-author series = Perfection! Rhett and Calliope have the most absolutely awesome meet-cute when a Calliope accidentally gets into Rhett's car thinking it's the town car her friend ordered to take her to a speed dating event. The uptight hotel mogul and the whimsical children's book illustrator are as different as night and day - but there is a spark from the moment Calliope climbs over from the back seat into the passenger seat and the two lay eyes on one another. These two characters are as engaging as they are smoking hot together, and though I have enjoyed everything Kat Baxter has written, this is by far my favourite novella of hers. This is one delicious instalove romance!

This is the first book in the Beach Babies series. I thought this book was a bit funny but also very entertaining. He is always being set up on blind dates by his mother, but he is far from interested in any of them women. She is a woman that does not think pretty much before she does things. She jumps into his car thinking it's rideshare for her. These have instant chemistry. But this mistake takes them to a one-night stand. These two have a great connection. Will anything become of these two after the one-night stand with his workaholic ways?

First things first; I like the cover of this book!

This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Rhett is a busy and successful businessman. When Calliope mistakes his car for a town car, sparks fly but will they take a chance at love?
The chemistry between calliope and Rhett is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

This book is part of the Beach Babies series and is all about Rhett and Calliope. Rhett is a workaholic and Calliope is a hot mess express children's book illustrator. They meet when Calliope accidentally mistakes Rhett’s car for her rideshare. They share an incredible night together and they both feel the last effects of their connection months later. I absolutely loved the two of them together and am so happy they got their HEA. I could read this book over and over again without complaints. 10/10 recommend this book!

I really loved this book!
I know a book is good when I laughing out loud as I read it and then read the funny parts to my husband! I absolutely loved how they met! It was perfect. She was so clueless at the beginning asking him if he spoke English. Every part of their meet cute was written so perfectly. Even the surprise baby part of the story was interesting and seemed true to life and he was so romantic and was the perfect book boyfriend. The ending was swoon worthy! I highly recommend this author and this book!

It all starts with an adorable meet cute. Calliope is a free spirited gal who jumps into the wrong town car, thinking it’s her ride. Rhett is a workaholic who hasn’t taken time for himself in forever. Each is just what the other person needs. They wind up together for one fabulous evening. Fast forward a few months later, and Calliope is pregnant. Great characters, great story. It was perfectly short, sweet and adorable.
