INDIA BLACK SERIES BOOK 2: Will India and Dream be able to live happily ever after or will the pitfalls of the outside world ruin them before they've even begun?
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Keisha Ervin is a prolific writer and devoted mother. Her success has drawn much deserved attention to herself and her hometown. She is the author of the National Best-Sellers Chyna Black, Me & My Boyfriend, Mina's Joint and Hold U Down, as well as the novel Torn and the short story After the Storm, featured in the Street Love anthology.
If I haven't told y'all anything else just know this book is not good. It's a marshmallow book being it's just full of fluff and not resolving and issues from book one. Dream was super weak this book and a lot of Inconsistencies with the story. Won't be reading anymore parts
Highly Disappointed. Such a waste of time and money.
I knew I should have went with my first mind, when I said I was done with Keshia's work. But since I brought the first book I decided to finish out the series, which isn't even the complete end to Dre. Keisha I don't know where you turned in you literary journal, but you must have taken a wrong turn. Your work has taken a drastic change and when I say change I mean a change for the worst. For you to be a woman approaching 40, your writing style has become very juvenile and childish. There isn't any maturity in your work or your characters. The over use of labels and materialistic references is very overwhelming. Every other page contains a list of price tags, no one cares to read that no one cares about the prices. There are ways to describe an outfit without including the dollar signs. I read the complete book and can't even tell you what the plot is. This story has no beginning or end; the words are just there. The over use of dramatics which aren't even funny is so unnecessary. The dry humor is terrible. The characters are so all over the place nothing makes sense. You should spend less time focusing on outfits and characters inspiration and focus on your kraft. This honestly will be my last purchase from you. I at least has too give 1 star but the book isn't even worth that in my opinion.
I am glad to have the sequel to Dream. I agree with my other book cousins, hopefully it does not take too long to receive Part 3. Because it definitely will be a follow up. There are still questions that need to be answered. Dream still has decisions he need to make. LHM…because I refuse to spell his moniker all the way out, boy please eat some cheese! His corny ass. In the words of Jackson “Make it brutal”. I hope that Dream “do dat boy dirty” in King Von voice. I have seen a few ppl say that Dream was too soft in this book and to that, I say… get ready for a maniac to bring murder and mayhem in Book 3 because ain’t no way he not gonna revert back to Dream in the prologue of this book…(shudders) CHILLING!
I really wish powerful crime families would be better prepared for the inevitable but I guess in the fictional world that’s a reach. From the overly descriptive outfits to the lyrics of songs I found myself rolling my eyes and skipping over those parts. I was more interested in the storyline than how much a watch or cigar costs. Hopefully this series will improve because nothing really happened in book 2 that answered much from book 1, I still have questions that should be answered in book 3.
I am at a lost for words.. Deep sigh What in toTom Hopkins did I just experience over here. I have stopped breathing, I'm swinging my hands trying to save people, I've even lost my cool in public hollering at the characters in the book that have pissed me off.I'm so done and spent right now. Dang Keisha you done it again my sista I'm a proud reader over here. Kudos Queen I applaud you 👏🏾
So this book was very much a push and pull for me. To start off I more than loved the prologue it was everything . I could feel it in my bones. But through out the book I did feel like it was packed with fluff and a lot of dramatic styling. I just wished the story would have stayed consistent at some points I could feel and see everything the author was trying to give us but in other parts it felt very blah like I could live without knowing how much everything cost. I did enjoy India’s and Dreams relationship and I think that’s what kept me going and involved. The pick up towards the end definitely caught my attention and hopefully we get more content in book 3.
Dream's family is selfish asf. Jackson can go straight to hell as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad ole lady is gone, Kree needs to go too he was annoying Nd he's a low-key hater. Nina? Bye. Papa? Annoying, and thirsty, bye.
Omg!!!! Why just why?? It just couldn't have a happy ending! Whew this book took me for a ride! So when is part 3 coming cause I'm in awe at this ending!!
I was a little disappointed and was so looking forward to this book. I feel like it started off great but than it went to the left. Dream 1 was so great I flowed and I expected this book to deliver in the same way.
I waited patiently for book 2 only to be left disappointed. This book should have been a novella and not a novel. Looking for substance, I was I inundated with clothes descriptions and song lyrics. It’s as if the author had nothing to say but wanted the sells. From what I can see, this will get dragged out until there’s no juice. Damn Mrs. Earvin.
I wasn’t ready for that ending. I’m speechless. I love that India gets down for her safety. I really can’t wait to see how things are gonna play out with her and Dream now. It’s Papa fa me; I just love him and I can’t shake it even though I know you’re gonna hurt my feelings. 😒
I'm somewhat disappointed with this one. There seemed to be a lot of filler words in this story. There were a few funny scenes and characters but the storyline was just blah for me. There was more descriptions of material items than storytelling this time around. Unlike Dream (book 1) it was hard to stay interested. I always finish a book that I start so I was able to get through it. There were some great scenes so don't think the whole book was bad. The interactions with Fatback and India are classic and funny as hell. Chyna serves as she always does and Dream is still toxic and crazy as ever!!!!!! But it's the fight between India and Dream for me!!!! India is a true Philly girl and is giving hell!!!!!!!! It's not on my must reads list. Hopefully book 3 will give more because book 2 just didn't do it for me.
I normally despise cliffhangers but this story was so freaking exciting my heart is still racing
Even though this story was shorter than the first, it was so worth the wait. Nothing went the way I thought it would and that's a great thing. Keisha most definitely kept me on my toes. I'll need some time to digest this before I'm ready for part 3. so I k ow everyone is saying "give it to me now!" I am not. This was a lot and it will take a while to catch my breath! I freaking love India's wild self. She is Dream's match. The 2 of them together is so chaotic and destructive but at the same time beautifully peaceful. It makes no sense but it is what it is. I loved this story. And I'm excited for book 3.
I read some of the other reviews and it was a mixed batch of opinions, but two stood out the most. The reviewers, stated how the author spoke on materialistic things and their price tag- this is true. It was done so often I began to skip through the book and I hated to do this. I mean this thing was $10. This for me personally took away from the story, because I was scanning over pages to avoid reading about the decor, wardrobe, and the price tag on it all. Honestly, I’m not looking forward to book three and I most def won’t be purchasing it. Honey them $10s add up and I’m not wasting my money on mediocre work.
WOW! What did I just read for real! 1. It was released in 2021 and STILL no book 3 ??? 2. I skipped through 15-20% of the book because of word vomit!! Over describing clothing, price tags , home decor and song lyrics. Who cares, give us something meaningful. 3. A whole bunch of NOTHING happening. None of the questions from book 1 were answered. Stuff wasn’t adding up. Just a mess. Plus it was more on the novella side length wise. But not good quality. 4. The last few pages were good and she left it on a cliffhanger of course. 5. It was like a completely different writer from book one 6. Idk what is going on with this lady. Smh I hate I got invested with book 1.
Let me start by saying I LOVED Dream 1, it was the first book I read by Keisha. I had been anticipating more antics between Dream and India, more character development, more positive interactions with India n Dream, just more. What I ended up getting was a catalog of all the latest fashion wear, and more unanswered questions. There was absolutely no resolve, or development with India and Dreams relationship, not enough time spent discussing the Don situation and Nina may have been on 3 pages. I was extremely disappointed.
I read this as slow as possible. So that I could luxuriant in all that is Dream. And needless to say I am more than satisfied. Kudos, to Keisha! She has dropped another banger! And, I will sit and anxiously wait for the next book. As, great books take time. I will say these are my take-aways: I do love Dream, lord knows I do. But, I think its safe to say. I am so Tram Papa it’s not even funny. I love a man that pours positive intentions into his woman. That is my only take-away. Loved it! This so could be a movie.
Giiirrrlll I have a tendency to try to guess who did what and what will happen and I read. O was pretty set on that Dream Grandmother did the ultimate betrayal to Dream's mother...I was so wrong but this book had my feelings so on edge. That ending I was sweating bullets as all the drama unfold. Dream pisses me off in this book more than he did in the 1st! India made me somewhat proud of her in this one because she gave strength. AMAZING now I'm on pins and needles for part 3 😁
So I can’t say I’m a big fan of hers I never even gave her a chance so I decided to read dream to my surprise I liked it and I was thirsty for more so I spent 10.00 on the ebook. Wtf was that I feel like you got Over on me I feel like I was reading HGTV or the home shopping network you can’t be serious you could’ve put all this nonsense in the first book well I think I’ll stick to my favorite authors just thought I could add a new one maybe I need Nicole smalls to read this book to me to change my mind cause I just couldn’t bring it to life
Ms. Keisha... Girl!!!! This book and you were the topic in therapy this week!! I am HEALED!!! Had my therapist googling you girl... She wanted to know who was behind my ecstatic mood. You never let me down with each new release... Thank you for giving your readers all of you in each book. You are a truly amazing author and the epitome of letting your light shine!! Thank you.
Why can't India and Dream catch a break. I love them together 😩 Dream underestimate India strienth and got an eye opener lol. Jackson is an A hole why make your son do something you know in your heart is wrong because you want to be on top get over it already. Please let India make it out of this and Dream get his women. Nina and Pops need to go, they are both spoiled thirsty pain in the butts. Keisha I hope we don't have to wait over a year again for part 3 🤷
A very good read, I wish Nina had a lot more depth to her, for her to be a multimillion dollar business women she deserves more to her than temper tantrums, ghetto clothes, and unintelligent things to say. Over all good read , I am looking forward to book 3 to see what happens and how it plays out, but I was waiting on pins and needles waiting for book 2, book 1 gave me sooo much excitement.
My mind wants a love story. Drama and violence. Dream is more of a nightmare and needs to man up. Nothing less attractive then a man that has females dying all over the place for their crazy ass life. Looks and body don't mean anything when you lose your life or get damaged beyond compare. This book gave me a headache. Don't even care about the outcome. Yuck!
Man oh man the pain and toxicity that comes with loving Dream. From the beginning of this book I felt sympathy for a young Dream but The inevitable pain of India finding out his secret engagement over rode any sympathy I had for him. Their tormented love was all I could think about until life or death took over. Great read!
Another great installment into the life and times of Dream and Slim. You have outdone yourself once again! I have thoroughly enjoyed this rollercoaster ride, and I can't wait to see what's in store for all of these characters. Well done Ms. Ervin, your mind is amazing!
Keisha, I haven’t worked my corporate job in 2days! I had to read this book twice to make sure I didn’t miss a thing.. OMG you kill the game and effortlessly and you ain’t mad about it… Please please please don’t make m have to read this book 20x… Because trust me I will
Yessssss Queen Mutha, has done it again! Baby this book was too much for me. My heart is still beating irregularly as I write this. So many questions but I will be patient and wait for the next one. Thank you for putting your all into your work it definitely shows and I’m grateful for it! #PenGameStrong
I was looking for a new author. This author was recommended to me. I started out of order but read the first book in this series. It was good so I kept digging into more of her works. This book was fire. I love Dream! I am all in on India and Dream. Great character development and leaves you wanting more!
But I would’ve never began if I knew it was a book 3 I would’ve just found something else that was completely done I see it been 3 years since book 2 and still no 3rd book hurt my feelings and is the author still alive or does she not write anymore hell I want to know what happened dang hopefully I can find something better to take my mind all the way off of this
I need part 3! Keanu Dream Baptiste is unhinged and Im here for all of it lol! If you like urban fiction with a possessive controlling rude no nonsense type alpha male then this is your book. This is one of my favorite series. India and Dream’s love story is so complicated and electric.! This was very well written with so many layers. I’m invested now I need to know how this ends !!!!I need answers lol. Keisha Ervin did her thing and Nicole Small brought the audio book to life in Book1.
