Harry & Meghan: Vol. 1: Rocking the Monarchy, Settling in California & How Dare They Be Happy

Rate this book
A #1 BEST SELLER and a #1 NEW RELEASE, Harry & Meghan is the first biography of the couple published since the birth of their daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana—and much of it is told in their own words. An incisive, analytical and occasionally satirical view of the racism, press intrusion and betrayal they’ve faced since moving to America, this mini-bio contains fresh new details and up-to-the-minute news on the couple at home in Santa Barbara.More dramatic than a season of The Crown, more gripping than any soap opera and more intriguing than any mystery thriller, the true story of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex rocking the British royal family is like no other book you’ve ever read.“My biggest concern was history repeating itself. And what I was seeing was history repeating itself, but far more dangerous.” —Prince HarryAnd so began a historic and unprecedented upheaval of the British royal family when Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, left the UK and gave up their senior royal roles in 2020.Harry was a child when he lost his mother Princess Diana, who was relentlessly pursued by tabloids and photographers and died in 1997 during a high-speed car chase with paparazzi. Harry wasn’t going to lose his wife, too. Harry & Meghan, Vol. 1 begins in 2020 when the couple made the bold and historic decision to leave their roles as senior royals working in the United Kingdom, and follows the pair from making that desperate choice—due to what they say was racism, media intrusion and a lack of support from the royal institution—to moving to a new country to the birth of their daughter Lilibet Diana.Vol. 2 (and beyond), out next year, will catch up with the family as they put down roots in Santa Barbara and begin to show what they can do with the Netflix and Spotify deals they cut after moving to America. All the while, these up-to-the-minute books will catalogue, analyze and satirize the outrageous racism, criticism and breaches of privacy this young family continues to face. Collect them all!

A delightful biography of their early family years.

A delightful biography of Prince Harry's & Meghan's (Duchess of Sussex) early family years, including their children, Archie & Lillibet.

love the digs at the British media

Enjoyed this, and glad there are journalists who prefer to celebrate this couples achievements rather than arbitrarily tear them down.

This may be the most poorly proofread book I've ever read on Kindle. It's so jarring that it takes away the ease of reading. It's not really poorly written, but the endless errors are impossible to overlook.

It is a very "pro" Sussex book, which is fine, but a reader should be ready for that bias.

I call garbage! (just kidding)

Its a fast read, if you enjoy trash. I don't know where this author got her information from, but it reeks of The Biased Sussex Group.. Don't waste your time. My eyes are exhausted from rolling them.
So glad I got it for free.

Great book!

I couldn't put this book down. I fell asleep to it.

The writer is humorous too, with his/her sarcasm. I smiled a few times at how ridiculous the Royal Family seems

I have not really cared about what is happening in the monarchy, so reading this book was a step forward for me. The book is told from the perspective of Harry and Meghan. If the story is true at all, I understand why they left. At any rate, I spent the money to read the book. I learned a lot about expectations of the family. This is an engaging story.

Love is always good

Harry and Meghan in a positive light. This book describes a beautiful, happy couple which is more truthful than the negative British press. Welcome to America. I wish you love always.

This reads like a brochure to travel to an exotic land but it’s about Harry and Megan instead. You don’t hear how the hotel pictures are nicer online, the traffic congestion, the crime, the scary insects, just how wonderful the place is. If you are seasoned travelers you know to view a more legit review.

It is a glowing review making them sound perfect and lost my interest quickly.

Interesting ......

A .... I cannot say nice ... way to tell this story. It does use quotes and published material to support the narrative. I did find it interesting especially when the known Sussex detractors and trolls are named and shamed.

This is a surprisingly bitchy and nasty book openly hating on Catherine Princess of Wales. Not sure why this author has been ignored while Scobie mouthpiece gets all the media attention. It has MM footprint all over it.

very one sided

As a consumer all things royal family, this book was very one-sided and did not offer any grace to anyone in this situation. It’s a hard place to be in general, but there are problems on both sides and the Suxxexes are not just victims.

an ok read

It’s a bit bland to be honest. I like a balanced view and this was a bit of a childish rant at times.

Grammar, etc.

This book was difficult to read due to poor grammar and clumsily constructed sentences. Where the heck were her editors?
