Brief but informative account of a few of Hoffman's works is really too short to do justice to his massive influence on the odd side of literature and the more fantastic reaches of music. The author focuses largely on Hoffman's own, semi-successful musical career and attempts to identify some common threads across his work. The book is a good guide for further reading.
