A Fast-Paced, Well-Told, Feel-Good Story
I really liked that the story kept moving forward and didn't get stuck in a rut. The characters were easy to keep straight, unlike some stories that add so many it can be overwhelming.
There were a few minor inconsistencies but they didn't affect the story line too much (e.g. Hope's hair color is described as white, then later as silver, then back to white; Maximus leaves one of the packs but no mention of him retrieving his money bag, which made me wonder why he'd leave it behind, but then several chapters later he has it again; Hope should be skin and bones and weak after being a slave for 18 years but she seems absolutely healthy immediately after her escape with Maximus.)
Still all in all, a good read.
