Jen Yates and her Technical Access Group are tasked with surveilling, penetrating, and conducting Cyber Kinetic Assaults on elements of North Korea's nuclear weapons program. The targets are big, and the stakes are high.
While Jen and her Group are busy working in North Korea, China's Ministry of State Security has begun working in South Korea. They aren't looking to destroy weapons; they're looking to use weapons. They have only one goal in mind: change Asia permanently.
Still reeling from her loss in Montana, and struggling to cope with challenges on her current deployment, Jen Yates is pushed to the brink. China's plan for the Korean Peninsula is superior, and their weapons are more powerful.
With failure looming, Jen must take deadly risks to keep South Korea safe, and complete her mission. Will she succeed? Or will South Korea fall in China's hands?
No matter the outcome, Jen's mission in Korea will be fatal ...
A very intense spy vs spy novel that continues the work of cyber guru, Jen Yates. As in the 1st novel, Code of War, Jen has assembled a team from the remaining members as the world faces the rising power of threat of China and North Korea. The reality of the threat makes this follow-up novel even more nail-biting as the world is facing a threat not seen in recent years. If you are not versed in the world of computer hackers, these two books will open your eyes to an all to real threat when everything and everyone is dependent on secure systems to protect the codes that manage our life and national security.
Love this series! Jen and Gabby are pushing the limits of possibility with action at every turn in this book. It was tough to put down--combing cyber warfare with a nuclear crisis in a fictional conflict yet timely in world events. I can't wait to see what the main characters will be adventuring into in book 3!
A fast-paced thriller, check. A lot of techno-babble that is easy to understand, check. The storylines are relatable to the current what-if situation with North Korea and China, check. Suspense from beginning to end, check. Put it all together and you have yourself a pretty decent sequel. Look forward to more novels from this author.
Fell into another page turner. Can't get enough of Jen and her no nonsense personality. Shear determination to finish a job to the end. Building the character of Andrew with slot of surprises.
Never a dull moment, unexpected turn of events, strikingly realistic. Without question makes you anxious for book 3. What are the prime characters planning?
Although the story bogged down in the middle, it picked up towards the end resulting in another fast paced geopolitical thriller. Jen Yates is a total badass!!!
