Twenty-three-year-old Alize McKoy has always prided herself on providing her two children with the two main things she lacked as a love and stability. Unfortunately, a violent reaction to a broken heart thrusts Alize back to a life of hardship and uncertainty. Her baby daddy and now ex-boyfriend Neal have always cared for her and her children. But now that Alize no longer wants anything to do with him, he tries to teach her a lesson by forcing her to find her own way without his help. Prideful Alize does just that but quickly realizes that things aren’t as easy as they seem. Lacking resources and finances, Alize soon finds herself with her back against the wall and about to lose her children. Will her pride outweigh her love? Or will she do whatever she has to do to piece life back together for her and her girls?
Lance Christopher is a semi-reformed thug that was lucky enough to run into the right connection to propel him to the top. His success, of course, hasn’t come without its fair share of bloodshed, problems, and disappointments. A dangerously ungrateful brother that won’t shake his street mentality and a money-hungry ex that tricked her way into his heart are just some of the issues he faces that money can’t seem to fix. Lance doesn’t want much more, just peace and a woman that can relate to him and help him battle the demons that he faces. Unfortunately, that type of woman with class is hard to find. He soon, however, finds that when fate throws Alize into his path. Will she let him in so they can be the strength the other needs? Or will outside forces tear them apart before they even get started?

Alize was definitely dealt a bad hand...her Auntie, cousin and baby daddy was real grimey...running into Lindsey and working for Lance was truly her blessing...Lawrence was really out of his mind and now his brother is going have to hand him over or clean up his mess...come on book 2
A good read with likeable characters , drama, secrets and lies. I definitely can't wait for part two of this well written story. That cliffhanger will really mess you up.
This is my first time reading the off the book it's really good please don't make me wait too long for part to cuz I want to see what happened to the kids.
This was the 1st time I've read your work, BUT it definitely want be the last. Where do I start, Melva and Melvina are some low down durty ho's!!!! Neal, you are a POS! How you going to drive around in a charger and your girl and kids are in a beat up Hyundai? You sleeping with the neighbor in her house, and you will not help her with y'all kids?!?!?! Alexis is going to be an issue! Lawrence is on more than coke! I really hope Aliza do not allow Alexis and Neal to tear down what they are trying to build. Also, I hope she doesn't allow Melva and Melvina come back in her life. I can't wait for part 2!!!!!
Man they way this ending set up…waiting for part two is not sitting with me. I have no idea how this story is going to turn out but I’m enjoying the journey this far. Lance is definitely that n***a and I’m all for him and Alize. Great job!!!!
Poor Alize' her life been hard since she was a child but she held her head high and keep grinding for them girls. Neal was sorry dog. Nothing else to say on him. Lance came in like knight in shining armor.. I think this could have been done in one book but I'll wait for part two
She has done it again, another banger... I enjoyed the book from beginning to end.... j don’t want to say any little thing that may be spoiler but y’all get into this book.
The drama was real definitely enjoyed this read Alize was dealt a bad hand but she was a survivor. Lance was a great man the two will definitely make a dynamite couple. I hope the girls are okay I swear there Dad Neal is a piece of donkey crap. Hurry up part 2 I recommend everyone check this book out.💜🔥💜🔥💜🔥💜
Love everything about this book … The ending has me wanting part 2 now… Love the Alize’s attitude and can’t wait to see if she gets the happy ending she deserves….
Sometimes you think you picked a decent guy to settle down with but soon realized once the street's get a hold of him and he start making a little money. Thing's changes. Neal was a straight up weak ass dude. He messed up him and Alize relationship and when she made a decision to leave with their daughter's. His true color's came to the surface. Alize knew what struggle looked and felt like since she grew up with a drug addicted mother. Her aunt Melva and cousin Melvina wasn't worth a damn. Struggling with her daughter's because Neal refused to help had her making one bad decision that turned her life upside down more than it was. Lance and Alize had a childhood past but he was also smitten with her. I'm glad he stepped up and stepped in but he had a money hungry ex lurking. Women like Alexis and Melvina trifling. Bodies bought and brains made by Matel. Lance was a good guy but his little brother Lawrence was the damn devil. He was wild and unpredictable. The way this ended. All hell just broke loose.
Fireeee read! Idc what Melvina intentions to show Alize were but her of all people knew what that girl been through and she wanted to act up. There would never be anything for us to discuss after that; family or not! Neal is the King of dogs yo! Why it had to be an ultimatum for him to want to see his kids straight?! Now he wanna be mad because a real man done stepped on the scene. Lawrence just like them bad Lil chirren. Like geesh, he got out the mud and still wanna act like he didn't have any sense. I'm so glad Lance walked away from the game. Now with all that happened, Lawrence may have just walked Lance into an all out war. I can't wait for part 2
Wow that ending was heartbreaking I hope everyone comes out the situation okay. Alize and Lance make a great couple and I hope what his brother Lawrence did doesn’t break them up. I know Lance is going to turn up when he finds out!! I can’t stand Melvina she is an opportunist she treated Alize like scum but now she has come up she wants to get back in her good graces girl bye!! I hope Alize gets a chance to drag Alexis because I can see now she is going to be a problem for her and Lance relationship. Part 2 me now please I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
This book was good from beginning to end and what a ending. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. I'm really liking Lance and Alize together, he's exactly what she needs and vice versa. I'm not feeling Melvina at all and I hope Alize keep her at bay, she's a manipulator/opportunist. Alexis, is definitely going to be a problem, cause she's delusional. After that ending, I hope the girls are good and it doesn't effect Alize and Lance. So can't wait to see what happens next. Good job Shontaiye Moore.
I enjoyed reading this story. If I could’ve done anything different in Alize’s position… I don’t really know what I would’ve done differently. It’s a situation that you can’t speak on unless you’ve gone through it yourself. It’s easy for someone to judge a situation without ever having to experience it.
I like how strong and focused Alize remained throughout the book. The girls’ father, Neal, was a piece of crap. Him and Lance’s brother, Lawrence, had me grimacing the entire story. And I won’t even start on her cousin (Melvina), Alexis, or her Aunt Melva. I have a strong dislike for them.
This story is the epitome of ‘You don’t miss the water until the well runs dry.’ The ending messed me up. I hope the girls survived that B.S.
Lance is Bae. All he wants is a woman he can relate to, humble and can bring him peace, and Alexis ain't it. He's not only drawn to Alize because she's every thing he wants in a woman but they are from the same back ground. Aliza was down bad before she found a good job and a good man. Her baby's daddy wasn't worth 💩, and her aunt that some what raised her and her grimy azz cousin wasn't worth a damn either. Things are looking up for her but it's all bout to come crashing down thanks to Lance's stupid azz brother.💖💖
Despite not having the best example of a mother, or the best living conditions, Alize was a beast of sorts at motherhood..life keeps getting in the way and no matter how many times she gets knocked down, she keeps it pushing!! Lance, growing up in a similar fashion, has a different outcome with life. A chance encounter may be the biggest blessing to both. Now Lawrence and Neal are going to be the biggest eediyots and I can't wait to see how part 2 treats them 🥴 and let's not mention the heauxs melvina and Alexis...sicca them already🤦🏽♀️
This read was so good. The cliffhanger though really Shontaiye? Watching Alize struggle to become a woman in a world full of lies, deceit, hard times and seemingly no way out. I thought as I read this is someone's life on some real stuff. Starting at the bottom some of us make it and some don't. Family can be your worse downfall they will do you worst than your enemies will. I've seen so many Alize's in my life that the struggle makes some hard, some fall, some exceed all expectations. Good Read
This book had me drawn in from beginning to end. I'm glad that Alize finally beginning to get her happiness with Lance, I hope she don't let Alexis play mind games with her. Her cousin is just a money hungry b*tch that want a come up. I pray them babies already seem like Alize can't catch a break sometimes. Lawrence better watch out because I believe Lance would kill him about Alize and her kids. I can't wait for part two. Awesome job Shontaiye.
I like Lance and Aliza together the connection they both have is inserperable I’m glad AliZe found the strength to leave sorry butt Neal he is a straight clown for how he treats the mother of kids now he wants her back because he sees Alize with a boss and as far as Alexis she needs to grow up and stop being a Thot along with Alize cousin fake body self Marvia I can’t wait for Part 2 to continue reading about my new fav book couple
Omg no I hope the kids okay this is crazy for real Lance better get his brother alize been through too much for something to happen to her kids when she trying to be a good mother to them and Alexis better go sit down somewhere ain't nobody bout to help her get her man back she should've did what she had to do to keep him she bugging melvina better not help her they so wack...I can't wait for part two
Omg I hope the kids didn’t get shot man that’s crazy. Why Alexis a hater let lance be happy. I knew lance brother was gonna do some dirty stuff. It suck kids involved man. I really hop alize and lance make it man.I love them together, I hope she get custody of her kids back because Neal not safe for them no more. I can’t wait for part 2 I love this book. You did a great job
Alize had it hard for most of her life. Her Mom, her Aunt and then her kids Dad, all let her down! But I'm a firm believer in what doesn't kill you will make you stronger! Alize deserves happiness, she's loyal and loving when most wouldn't even be open to loving again. Lance is a God send and I just hope his brother didn't ruin it for then. Great work as usual Shontaiye
Alize can't seem to catch a break, but Lance is going to be her knight in shining armor. Melvina needs to be dusted for that little stunt in Vegas, but I'm sure karma will be paying her a visit. Neal is the prime example of a someone who wants his cake and eat it too...really ninja go over there with that thot you got caught with!!!! The last scene got my nerves rattled and I can't wait for part two.
