I interview My Inner Three Year Old about Bumageddon, which we noticed yesterday in an Adelaide bookshop.

Manny: So, MITYO, I'm sure we're all interested to know what you thought of Andy Griffiths's masterpiece?

MITYO: Poo!

Manny: I did notice that that was one of the main themes. What else would a discerning reader find in this book?

MITYO: More poo poo! Bums!

Manny: It seems my first impression was correct then. How would you say that volume three compares with its predecessors, The Day My Butt Went Psycho and Zombie Butts from Uranus?

MITYO: Ha ha! You are a stinky poo poo!

Manny: Do you believe the author's claim, prominently displayed on the cover, that this is a based on a true story?

MITYO: Ha ha ha! POO!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!

I have always said that Andy Griffiths is an artist. His words the paint, the ancient papyrus pages of his novels the canvas. What we have here is an example of a lunar eclipse-level event, as whilst “The Final Pongflict” is a beauty beyond words, looking too long at it will permanently damage you. Like the hunter-gatherers of old, “Bumageddon: The Final Pongflict” hones it’s craft in the wild unknowns of the verbal narrative world. While this tale only contains words, even the smallest of imaginations will be able to visualise the incredible world Griffiths crafts. The sheer scale and intensity of the narrative that unfolds and the subsequent exceptional unfolding of said narrative is profound. As a writer, this is the blueprint for all future works. If George R.R. Martin were alive today, he would be beside himself at what modern writers can accomplish with a solid enough concept.

Congratulations, Andy. You’ve done it again. I am forever pledged to you, thy mighty king. Call me back.

My sister and I were obsessed with this when we were kids. This was like The Iliad in our eyes. We took this very seriously.

Not better than the second one, but better than the first. But there were a lot of issues I had with the logistics of how the story could actually function (I know, I know... it's a book about butts should I really expect things to make sense, but the answer is yes... even if its a crazy, silly book, the story should actually make sense.)

Here were a couple of the problems I had:

So yeah... that's kind of how I feel about this book.

As a series, it was a silly, stupid read. I think kids would like it. Some parts of the books were funny, and some were just trying too hard to be funny they ended up being dumb. But they're easy, quick reads....and come on, where else can you read a book about butts that can walk and talk and be snarky and fun? Haha.

Not a fan of misspelt words, especially in children’s books. The prologue: “devarsetation” it took me far too long to realise it was a word play and arse was the feature. Hopefully kids are smart enough to realise this is not the way to spell devastation. I feel it could have been done better by writing “dev-ARSE-tation.” This is not the only reason I’m going with 2 out of 5

The series concludes with Zack and Eleanor saving the world by time traveling to prehistoric times to destroy the Great White Butt. They encounter old friends and enemies along the way.
The world is saved and has become normal as we know it.
Middle grade readers will enjoy the body humor and puns.

This book was funny, but not as good as the first or second. I could sort of predict what was going to happen. I wasn’t satisfied with the ending because what about the plot about BUMS. I mean THE BUMS HAVE FEELINGS!!!! But it was still fun!

Readdddd this weirddddd boookkkkk 🤪🤩🥳

Incredible conclusion to a thrilling trilogy. I noticed early on in the book that the general theme seemed to be very reminiscent of Avengers Endgame. I think the writers of that movie have some explaining to do re plagiarism!!! (this was a joke, please don't kill me Disney)

Butt wars is about a guy named, Zack, he saved the world many times from so called butts by destroying them with a plan in this book they have to save the world from toltal destruction from butts back from 650,000,000 b.c. Zack has seven friends: ned, grandma, eleanor, robobutt, forker, flicker, and zacks but. Along there adventure they meet up with grandma, the forker, and the flicker and they got there by a brown hole created by the explosion for buttosaurs when they died by a meteor( same as when dinosuars died for extictioon by a meteor.)
I have a text to the world because our troops in america save us from bad enemys and so does zack he has saved the world 3 times and the troops have saved usmany times as well. Zack has saved the world from butts and our troops have saved us from people that are bad not quite evil but bad.
i would reccomend this book to my dad because he has always been there for me and i feel this book would kind-of remind him of when he has saved me for example i had a cut that needed stiches and he came to me and took me to the hospital so i could stop the bleeding i had in my pinkie.

Again the world is being terrorized by the great white butt. His plans of world domination have not diminished. But Zack is still there to stop him, he eventually learns of his plan and attempts to stop him as always. They end up back in time, there they see not just one, but tons of great white butts. But safe inside robobutt they devised a plan to stop the great white butt from sending his fellow great white butts to the present. Eventually a romance brews between robobutt and the great white butt and everyone lives happily ever after. I was pretty into the book because I wanted to know how it was going to end, but i was also tired with all the butt fighting stuff. there are still some funny action packed parts but i feel like it wasn't as good as the previous books.

This is the third installment in the "butt triology". Zack and all other butt fighters must travel back in time to stop the great white butts from destroying all mankind. They travel through time in a robobutt. I love how passionate kids seem to get about this subject matter. Reading the first book to the kids I worked with this summer really showed me how excited they were to read. That is a great feat when you work with all kinds of kids. While this story may not end up in my school librabry I still think it's a great, clever piece of literature. It really helps evoke the child's imagination.

This book was about a boy named a 12 year old boy named Jake. He was the only one and his butt fighting friends from the butt fighting academy to save the world. he had to go through buttcanos butt-o-sauras rex and butt raining clowds.
Andys main external conflict was to save the worlds and his parents from world domination from butt monsters. Jake went through a lot to save the world. Jake was happy and frusturated at the same time.
This book was funny and a little wierd at the same time. I gave this book a 3 out of 5 because the story really wasnt good. I wouldnt really recommend this book to anyone unless if they like funny and strange books.

This book is the last conflict the heroes and heroine must end, and also with their butts. The butt problem was in its height wherein the boy named Zack Freeman saved the world from Buttvasion and Zombie butts from Uranus from the last two books. Now, the hero, heroine, and their butts must face hundreds of Great White Butts from the past. Will Zack save the world from Buttagedon? find out in this last conflict that determined the buttolution of the human race.

This book is about a boy who save people from butts and then saw a great white butt.
i really can't relate to this book because it doesn't even make since.

i rate this book a 1 because it is so bad and i really didn't like it, so if you like people talking about butts and disgusting jokes about butts then you can read it.

As the final book in the series it is an excellent way for it to finish of. Bumageddon brings Ned Smelly back with his new invention. Zack freeman's middle name is revealed and they journey to the past with only a few mistakes. It was an excellent book and it defiantly deserves 5 stars.

THE BUTT-EPIC CONCLUSION OF THE HILARIOUSLY STUPID TRILOGY! Another gripping journey to stop the plot by malicious butts. For young kids looking for a silly yet challenging read, this book is the perfect fit. Hold on to uranus because this one is pretty cheeky.

This is a book everyone should read.It had a lot of humor and stuff to represent S.O.L.E. I recommend this book to every one in the Horizon Middle School. This story is about a team who has to fight a lot of crazy and weird creatures in the book.

Doesn't pull off the intended humor quite as well as books like Captain Underpants, but my kids thoroughly enjoyed the whole trilogy. Recommended IFF you don't mind gross humor and sci-fi plots that don't even attempt to make sense.
