Life is hard when you are on the run.

Just trying to survive and start a new life on my own was almost impossible. Until one night a shadow scared me into a building, a building that would change my life forever.

Six months at Seduction House and I am finally ready for the auction.

Tonight is the night that I sell myself to a stranger.

I’m more ready than words can say, one night as their Plaything and I am flush with cash for the next 3 months. Sounds like a great deal to me. But my night in the spotlight doesn’t go quite as planned, and instead of one man and one night,

I’m sold to four men for a month. Jack, Vince, Arlo, & Dimitri, four friends that know what they want and aren’t afraid to pay for it.

The only problem is my heart and my body agree we want more than meaningless sex with the four men that bought us, but the past has a way of sneaking up on you and ripping all your hopes and dreams away.

I’m willing to fight for love or die trying.

I just don’t know if these four men will fight with me.

Woah....Just Woah.
I've seen this book being suggested on Facebook and thought I'd check it out. This book was so so good. I LOVED Jane as a character, seeing her grow as a person was great to read about. Alaric, Arlo and Jack were probably my favourites. I'm hoping Alaric gets more involved in the next book.
Can we just have a moment of silence for that last chapter though..... I'm super excited to read the next part. I absolutely love November Sweets' work. Might have to reread Grimm Brother's Tattoo again to tide me while I wait for book 2.

Really enjoyed this book, I devoured it in one sitting. My kids got ignored, the house work got ignored, my own book got ignored, the husband is always ignored so he didn't even notice. Anyway you get the drift. Can;t wait to see what happens in the next book. Highly recommend

I Would Have Rated This Higher… but Dom is a Real Issue.

The headline says it all.

This was an easy page turner. The plot was quick and catchy and interesting enough that it kept me going no worries.

That changed and backtracked the moment Jane had her scene with Dominic.

Let me try to explain. I’m not aghast at that kind of play. I’m not against it, I don’t mind it, and in some cases instances like that can bind a reader even more deeply to the characters involved…. But what Dom did?

Jesus. No.

But I’ll forget about that for a sec bc again, (and it’s so hard to explain this right) I’m not oversensitive about “the” scene with him, what slapped me in the mouth was how HARD this author tried to play OFF that scene during and after with both of the characters.

It wasn’t wrong bc Jane “wanted it” and “liked it” ext. Dom felt like the king of the flipping castle after playing that scene out thinking to himself he wanted to not only do it AGAIN, but that he “hadn’t even been as rough as he wanted to be” and then for a couple of chapters later they don’t talk about what happened between them other than the author throwing in desperately Jane liked it and that Dom was just being his true Dom self sans his people-facing-mask of BS and lies like that made everything ok.

Dom bugs the h*ll out of me. When we’re properly introduced to him the first thing he says is basically, “I like to Dominate but not like Fifty Shades of B*llsh*t” and then later, IMMEDIATELY turns around and proves he himself is the ULTIMATE Fifty Shades of B*llsh*t Freed.

The dude admits to being the worst Dom ever and then realizes after Jane, a switch, points out this behavior isn’t true to form, that he’s never been a Dom- but an “aggressive top” all along.

“Player, your number is being paged, report to the front office.”

Everything with Dom is wrong. We hardly get any time with Vince, getting to know him/ explore him. Arlo is adorable and perfect. Duh. And Jake reads as odd to me for being prob the oldest out of all of them and yet falling the easiest for Jane without any sort of reservation out of everyone. (He’s still hands down the best one of the bunch with the easiest motivations to follow and his relationship dynamic with Jane aside from Arlo.)

Hmm, not sure if I will read book two. For one. each one of the men plays some sort of head game with FMC. She is called a whore and that she is being paid for it. Okay, she is being paid but not to be treated as a demeaning whore. It is supposed to be about fantasy. Not comfortable with unsafe sex, with not 1 man but all 4 of them. Sorry but in this day and age, this book should have been promoting safe sex practices. The second issue was physical abuse of 1 of the MMC towards Jane and it wasn't just a slap it was down and out physical/sexual abuse this character claims to be a Dom but there is NO way a dom would have taken the ability to use her safeword. That is not a true Dom's behavior at all and there was zero aftercare! It was all glossed over like no big deal. If this poor woman had the trauma that leads the reader to believe, there is NO way to just let that go! I do not care if she is being paid, I cannot believe her contract would have condoned the behavior, the bouncer even warned one of the men to NOT hurt her, or he would come looking for them. Especially since Jane did share all of her past with Madame Syn and her past traumas. The big secret that Jane found about the men, yeah NO for me!!! I know it says triggers but these are a hard pass for me, no amount of money is worth all of that. The only reason I rated this a 2 is that I really like Jane's character, just wish she was more believable.

WOW! So far in 2021 I have read 211 books and this is my favorite so far!

Jane is barely making it through life, and during one of her lowest times, she is chased by a ghost man and she decides to hide in a nearby building; little did she know this would change her life. This high scale sex auction brings her together with four very different best friends. Her head says she is just working, but does her heart know that?

THIS BOOK!!! I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. This book slowly came together, but explained Jane's life while still holding your attention on every page. The four men she is sold to in the auction are completely different men, personality and look wise. Can she satisfy every single one without getting her heart involved? You feel for each and every person in this book with their backstories and I felt so many emotions during this read. If you are looking for the perfect man.. Jack, Vince, Arlo, & Dimitri have all the qualities. Don't get me started on the ending! Cliffy alert! I don't know how I am going to wait for the second book when the first book hasn't been released yet! Amazing read November, 10/10 would recommend.

Don't forget to put this book in your TBR and pre-order! This book comes out on 9/8/2021 and I can't wait for you all to be able to enjoy it like I did. This is my honest arc review!

This book! I did not know what I was walking into with this one and I am not disappointed. I tend to go in blind to a lot of books, and I had seen this one around a few times, so I took the plunge today. I finished this book in less than a day. It would have been one sitting if I didn't have to adult today.

Jane/Plaything is confident, but comes with a past. Before she finds refuge at Seduction House, she is running from her darkness and basically homeless. At Seduction House, she begins to blossom. Her first auction she meets Vince and he brings her home, where she meets Jack, Arlo, and Dimitri, whom she has all had a run in with previously.

I love all the guys and her relationship with each of them. They're all different and she matches them perfectly, even if some if them are having a hard time grasping it. When this book gets to the spice... 🥵🥵

While staying with them, she is receiving gifts from someone, and we find out who that someone is at the end and 😱😱😱 I NEED MORE! HOW CAN IT END LIKE THAT?!?

LOVED!

Going into this book, I was not expecting to fall in love with it as hard as I did upon finishing. Jane has a past that has yet to be completely revealed, but it's dark and has changed her. For the past 3 years, she has lived on the run, changing her name, flying under the radar, and living on the streets, working only for cash when she can find a job. When she finally hits rock bottom, she has no other option but to take on the offer of working for Seduction House. How hard could it be training into a high-end auction escort with complete knowledge of everything sex? Here's a hint: It was nothing like she expected. When her first auction turns into a month long contract with four men, this will be a turning point in her life she never could have predicted when it leads to her spiraling and her past coming back with a vengeance.

Enjoyed

I'm relatively new to November Sweets' books, having only read one other one. I quite enjoyed Plaything; I found the story interesting and on the unique side.

Jane is on the run, and doing everything she can to just survive. There's a couple of twists, an underlying mystery going on, and relationships with 4 men to delve into.

I enjoyed this book up until the ending, where November left me teetering on the edge of a cliff...thanks so much. Sigh. Now I have to wait 😭

If you enjoy RH with unique storylines and don't mind a cliffhanger that makes you want to toss your Kindle out a window - give this one a try.

When the past clashes with present…..

This book was a different kind of reverse harem and I very much enjoyed it! Jane is running from her past, yet we still don’t know the specifics. She changes her own identity and lives under the radar for three years, until she hit rocks bottom.

After nothing else to loose, she finds herself as a high end escort, being auctioned off to fulfill others sexual fantasies as Plaything. She agreed to be auctioned off for one night dates, instead she got one month with 4 men, 3 of which she had interacted with before. The 4 men are best friends and want to share, but they all have different desires and no strings attached. They thought it was too much for anyone, but they found themselves trying to find this via Seduction House.

Plaything is the full package, and is capable of anything, especially after what she has already gone through. Scenes are hot 🥵 and spicy 🌶 before and after the auction. 😉 I also was able to get some good chuckles in with the relationship between Jane and fellow escort fu€knot.

Ultimately, and end was called 🥞 before the month cutoff, little did Jane know a secret admirer was out there. Leaving us in shock as many get hurt as a direct result of Janes past catching up to her. Now where will they go? I’m only going to assume that Jack, Arlo, Vince and Dimitri will do EVERYTHING to get back the one woman who mean EVERYTHING to them. ❤️ I need to know more about them all and how they can overcome it all!

Overall, I would totally recommend this book!

⚠️ This book contains flashbacks of dark traumatic pasts for most of the characters. It also contains rough sexually aggressive scenes, along with BDSM. Read with caution if these are triggering ⚠️

THIS FREAKING BOOK!!!! Honestly I don’t think I have enough words to describe how much I loved this book especially because I do not want to give anything away. You need to experience this baby first hand and in all its dirty glory. Jane has been through it let me tell you. Jane has been on the run and it has finally caught up to her when she tries to hide in a building but ends up in a high end auction who is then bought/sold to four very different yet very yummy men who end up not only teaching Jane but empowering this woman and bringing out a whole new side to her. I loved watching Jane’s growth not only within herself but with each of the guys. This story is definitely not all sun shine and rainbows nope not at all there is some dark and twisty moments, moments that will have you catching your breath and that ending will leave you will your jaw on the floor begging for more… I was captive from the very first page all the way to the last and I needed more for sure. I cant wait until we get the next book because I need to know what happens next!!!

It had potential but then went sideways

So I liked the first 75 % 5 stars for that. I really cared about the main character, she was strong, resilient, funny . the smut was there

But I hated how Tre acted around her. He abused her, treated her like she was worthless because she was a sex worker, but she was chosen because she was and he used SW all the time so what's the big deal. There was a bit that called her pancake. And the instalove was so fake and overdone. They haven't even known her a month but these broken, independent guys are magically all mush?!

What a great read. I loved all of the characters but my favorite was Arlo. How sweet is he?! I wish there were more "play" scenes involved with him though. Looking forward to the next book!!

- Heroine: Jane
- Harem: Vince, Jack, Arlo, Dimitri
- POVs Included: Multiple POVs (Jane, Vince, Jack, Arlo, Dimitri)

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Jane has been on her own for the last three years after she stabbed her brother. But after losing her apartment and job, she finds herself in desperate need of money and a place to live.

So she signs up as an escort at a place called Seduction House, where escorts are auctioned off to bidders to play out their fantasies with (consensually).

When she ends up with four men who have very different kinks, she is looking forward to the month she signed up to be with them.

REVIEW:

This was a hard pass for me for so many reasons.

First the book is SO SLOW to start. She doesn’t even meet the guys until well into the book and I found it to drag on and on. Even after she meets them it’s so boring and blah. I honestly skimmed a lot because I was not a fan.

The idea of Seduction House and what they do could have promise as a story. But the way it’s done is seriously weird and awkward. Not to mention how touchy feely she is with her bffs. It’s just all very cringe.

And the entire setup that they only have each group of recruits go through one auction doesn’t seem very sustainable. Having to constantly find and train new recruits. And this whole concept isn’t even consistent throughout the story considering Jane constantly talks about going back there and how it’s her life now. When really after one auction she’s supposed to be done and they move on to a new group? What’s up with that?

I despised the nicknames that the Seduction House insists they have. Fuckboy. Plaything. Player. Minx. Etc. Their real names are hardy used and it’s awkward AF! I’m sorry, but how can you form a genuine connection with someone who you refer to as Fuckboy or Plaything. That’s what they call each other, it’s never their real names.

Speaking of Fuckboy. Her entire relationship with him is super confusing. Are they just friends? Or more? She’s constantly thinking about him and it’s just weird considering she’s supposedly “falling in love” with these guys she’s with.

But really, “falling in love” is used loosely. Because I honestly feel absolutely no connection between them. Even sexually it all just feels fake and like going through the motions. So boring! She also spends most of her time with Arlo and Jack. Dimitri is hardly there and Vince is mostly ignored despite being the one who needs the emotional connection the most.

And speaking of the guys, I don’t really understand how these four men are friends/roommates. They are so different in age and mannerisms and style. I mean, I get having variety in a RH, but I still need to believe the guys would actually be friends. One guy is a “silver fox” which I picture as much older then the other guys. One is a balding British guy. Another is a surfer guy with a kink for being a Submissive. And the last one needs an emotional connection with a woman before sex, which, while totally understandable, I’m not sure how he can genuinely find that with someone he is paying to be with him. I’m just not seeing how these four came together as a tight group of friends naturally.

I also don’t really like Jane/Plaything. She’s not a very consistent character. Her character at the beginning of the book is like completely different from her character as Plaything. It was kind of weird and off putting for me. I liked her personality in the beginning of the book, but not as the cocky overly confident sex worker. She reads like someone who has been a sex worker for years and is way older than twenty-one. She just sounds really unnatural and fake to me.

And then there’s the big secret at the end. They’re all married! But it’s not what it looks like apparently (I don’t know, I guess we find out about that in the next book). Now, yeah, this makes them look like assholes. But I don’t really understand why she’s all like “I have to leave, how dare them betray me!” …because she’s a sex worker! They paid her to be there! And even if she’s catching feelings (which I personally don’t even feel anything between them), that doesn’t change the fact that they are paying you a million dollars to be there. So yeah, not sure how it’s your business if they’re married or not.

Overall this was not for me. I could tell early on that it wasn’t going to be, but I wanted to at least meet all the characters. Then I just figured I’d finish it. I did not like the premise. I didn’t like any of the characters. I didn’t feel connected to any of them or the story at all. Not continuing.

I love the concept of Seduction House. They rescue people from unfortunate circumstances and in their way, help them get back on their feet. Jane would’ve been in a tight spot if not for the opportunity they provided.

We get a brief glimpse into Jane’s past and what led her to Seduction House in the first place. I’m also all for the sex positivity that Seduction House exudes. Now, Playthings guys span the gamut of super sweet, to uber alphahole. Of her guys, Arlo is my favorite. He’s just too precious for words and his submission is beautiful. Dimitri can take a long walk off a short pier. Jack is just… well, he’s Jack. Vince is between Jack and Arlo so far as temperament. I rather like her bestie Fuckboy too. He’s her rock and I love that for her.

I’ll be honest with you. The writing isn’t the greatest in my opinion, but the story kept me engaged and entertained, so I can overlook that for the most part. The steam is a bit underwhelming too, but it wasn’t bad. There are definitely instalove vibes in this book, but I honestly don’t mind it so much. Normally it isn’t my cup of tea, but in this instance I’m just rolling with it. I want Plaything to have all the things and it seems like even alphahole Dimitri has something about him that resonates with her.

That ending though… I am so glad I can start the next book right away, because dayum! Solid 3.75 stars rounded up.

Dark Scale rating: 4 for allusions to past trauma, homelessness, food scarcity, mentions of drug addiction, there’s one scene that I feel trips hard into dubcon that involves Dimitri, and mild physical altercations.

Plaything

What’s a girl to do? She left a past of blood on her hands, she found a roof over her head, a shitty job to help her get by, then one day it’s all taken away from her.
With a chance to redeem herself, finally get back on her feet and earn enough cash to set her up for life, wouldn’t you take it?
After everything Jane (not her real name) has gone through and she finally gets a offer of a life time, even Jane can’t have it all, it’s way to good to be true. What’s the catch?
Yeah there’s a few hints thrown in during her journey being the Plaything and still Jane has no idea. With a cliffhanger like that I knew the prologue was meaning a other certain person and makes so much sense although with out trying to give much away I thought it was a possible father figure of some kind not what we got at the cliffhanger.

It’s a delicate story of a broken girl trying to get by in the best way she can, it also introduces types of kinks people have, and the possibility of different kind of relationships, mainly this is RH but our girl is bloody good at keeping her men happy and satisfied, she sure came of her shell 😜

No You didn't just do that? No way. You can’t just end it there? I’m quite literally about to cry my dark-heart-out.

What a book...I’m taken back by my enjoyment in this dark romance, it has everything you never released you needed, in a book and more…with a sprinkling of twists and turns that leave feeling misplaced...and stunned.

Being called by the name ‘Plaything’ was empowering for Jane, she became sexually desired on her terms, using what she learned to play with men, or four very particular men.

Oh…I love it! Did I say that already because it is twice as much true.

Ok, it isn’t all rainbows and roses, read the trigger warning, because it does give a little warning to what to expect, but the story is written in such a fantastic way, I got lost and was so upset when it ended, the wait for book two is going to destroy me.

I did learn a few things from this book *wink wink* and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Oh my GAWD.

We meet "Jane" after she's done 'something' that's sends her on the run.

She doesn't land on her feet and finds the world to be pretty fucking cruel. Once things have settled and three years has gone by it all goes to shit in a week.

But the oldest profession in the world gets a new look and I'm here for it.

The pretty women references make me giggle out loud.

Alaric has my heart for how he cares for our girl. Jimmy would burn the world for the girl who has become like a daughter to him.

I haven't read many books with male Slaves and Arlo is just perfection. What brings him to the world of BDSM is heartbreaking but ♡♡♡

Dimitri makes me want to PUNCH him

Jack is a grizzly bear and I love his fierceness.

Vince just wants to be loved.

Oh did I mention this is RH.

No groups scenes yet!!!

I am dying with how this book said here let me toss you off this cliffhanger see you in NOV🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😭😭😭🌟🌟🌟

I really liked how this book starts off getting to know Jane and getting to know her struggle. This harem has a good mix of personalities and I have my two favorites …Jack and Arlo. This book has a BIG cliffhanger that had me shocked 😱. I really cannot wait for book 2 !! This releases September 8th and I highly recommend going and grabbing this book!

Felt jipped

Started out pretty good. The mystery prologue was intriguing but then her bad luck just became almost comical in the numerous losses that made her choose to become Plaything. With the guys, Dimitris' behavior came out of left field. That was sexual assault without warning. There was no way that could be excused away by himself or her, but it got glossed over then suddenly it's said that they continue to have satisfying rough sex later. Told, not shown. No discussion about what his deal was, no apology. It was weird & rushed to get to the cliffhanger. Like his part of their story was cut out.
The cliffhanger was a bit ' I knew it!' but with some 'oh sh!t' & a sprinkle of 'what!? Eww!
The rest of this dark take seems to be headed towards darker themes. This girl got to be happy for just a minute before she was dumped back into hell.

3,5 stars actually

Wow where should i begin, this was damn good boy. I could even describe the story as beautiful even, well the story itself is not the beauty but the one telling the story, the heroin Jane or Plaything. I love that girl, she is so damn strong, has gone thru a lot and knows her worth. I am proud of her.
The guys Jack, Vince, Arlo, & Dimitri, is the four friends who buys her for a month, they are certainly interesting. They all have different kinks or wants. Arlo is the sub, Dimitri is the dom , Jack is the one wanting brutal fucks sort of and Vince is the one wanting sweet, like wooing the woman before making love. I thought it was interesting to see Jane juggle all these needs, that can´t be easy to do that at the same time.
Omg that ending killed me, but thankfully the last book in this duo is out so i am gonna jump straight into that right now

This Book Is Beyond Amazing
With just the right amount of Hot & Spicy and a slight edge of Suspense.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK, HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE READ ALL YEAR!!!

OMG If you want a book that is going to keep you up all night just to stay connected to the characters within its pages then this is definitely the book to read. Between Plaything and LittleBird (Arlo) and her and Jack you can not help but become absolutely addicted. Don’t even get me started on Vince and F*Boy OMG that is a hot thought in itself. This book literally grabs ahold of you and drags you in from page one all the way thru to the very last emotional page. I full heartedly recommend this book 100%.

didn’t see the end coming

I mean, I saw the end coming, but I had the person wrong. So I was shocked.
I enjoyed this book. I don’t much care for the guys like Jane seems to, but I’m hoping that changes in book 2.

— Plaything: Make Me Duet Book One (Seduction House World) by November Sweets

I read a lot of contemporary RH and lately, the darker, the better.
This one stood out a little because man, Jane couldn’t catch a break, lol.
I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil anything. I didn’t read the blurb, just that it was RH lol.
I enjoyed the story and if you like quick, dark RH, you might too.

Plaything is the first book I’ve read by this author and I absolutely, freaking loved it!
Jane has been on the run for three years. She was working at a diner and had a cheap place to stay until unfortunately she lost both and her only option left was to go to work at Seduction House.
I loved Jane’s attitude! She really is a survivor and doesn’t take crap from no one. I think out of the four guys, my favorite was Arlo. Dimitri was my least favorite but maybe that will change in the future.
This book was amazing and had many twists and turns that kept me turning the pages til the very end. And after that cliffhanger I am desperate for the next ASAP.

Fifty Shades has nothing on this one

This one was dark and delicious. Fifty Shades has nothing on this one. This was 10 times better if not more. I love that we don’t get the whole story up front. It frustrates the hell out of you then bam the mic drop happens. There’s no spoilers in this all you gotta do is read from start to finish. I promise this will take you on a fantastic journey of a girl who is trying to survive day in day out but always seems to have fate dump on her when things start to look up. I can’t wait for the next installment. November Sweets, you Madam have out done your self. Well done.

This was my first book by November Sweets and it did not disappoint! Jen was a relatable character, down on her luck but trying her hardest to survive, how could you not like her?

The RH part of the book was 🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥 like I couldn’t get enough! I don’t even know who was my favourite male! I definitely loved Arlo’s character a LOT and Vince was super attractive too, Jack was a little intense for me, and Dimitri was a big ol NOPE NOPE NOPE for me. This book is steamy, and has a captivating plot. The only downside of this book was the cliffhanger!!! URGH!! I can’t wait for the sequel ❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🍆

So Freaking Good
So much going on with these characters. All broken in their own way. And sexy as all hell. Omg the men in this book are just scrumptious and the whole premise of Seduction House is so sexy. I loved reading about Plaything’s transformation. And November did such an amazing job dangling just enough to keep me on my toes… and then she left me hanging from a cliff!! Uggh… book 2 can’t come soon enough. If you like dark angsty contemporary RH, you’ll love this book!!
Please read the trigger warnings.

nice twist

This was such a nice twist to a traditional reverse harem. I absolutely loved the fact the she didn’t have a cute meet with these guys. Instead she was bought to be theirs for a month. Plaything fits so perfectly with Arlo, Jack, Dimitri, and Vince individually and within their group. Her bold personality fits all their needs without pushing any of the others. But just as their relationship grows everything comes crashing down and her past has caught up to her, literally. Can’t wait to see if she can escape her past again and if she will run back to her guys.

I loved this book! It was so good I was hooked from the first few pages and couldn't put it down. We only got to know the guys a little bit in this book but I feel there is alot more to find out about them and their background so I hope this is touched on a bit more in book 2. I would also like to find out more about Jane which I think we will get that in the next book. The cliffhanger at the end OMG.. I hope Arlo is ok. Very much excited to find out what happens next. Worth the read you won't be disappointed.
