Wife and mother of four, my days have been reduced to begging for the littlest to sleep so I can have time to write my books. I'm blaming my reduced schedule on Cupcake.
Facebook is the best place to find me, or you can sign up for my newsletter here (https://leannryans.com) to keep up with current and upcoming projects as well as special promotions and such.

I grew up on Sci-fi and Fantasy books with some of my favorite authors being Anne McCaffery and Mercedes Lackey. In 2013 I discovered paranormal romance and delved into a whole new world. After reading Omegaverse stories from Addison Cain and Nora Ash, I had the idea for The Omega Prize and decided to take a shot at writing a book of my own. The beginning was rough, it took two months to write the first five chapters, but as my 2019 New Year’s resolution I said I was going to finish the story and committed to writing every day. It didn't take long for the book to begin telling itself, and from there I just kept going.

Most of my books are Omegaverse, but they span other genres like Sci-Fi, dystopian, and historical barbarians. There is even a small-town Enemies to Lovers Romance story in there. They main contain dark elements but I wouldn't call them dark romance since my alphas tend to be a little mushy in the center. I promise there's always a HEA.

I loved this!!

This sweet Little Red Riding Hood retelling is my Omegaverse crack, a vicious scary Alpha who is protective and loving to his Omega.

Blaide is an Alpha and retired soldier, living a solitary life in his little cabin in an outskirt jungle village of Jun'gale. He gets a message from an old friend in the military that the enemy is enroute to attack Jun'gale before the military back-up can get there. Blaide warns and then guides the villagers to the nearest city, protecting them until they can get to sanctuary. Once there, he finds and is intoxicated by a little red Omega with three tails who needs rescuing and his help to save her Nana.

Liz, has been bullied and ostracized most of her life due to her red coloring. Her Nana has always nurtured and comforted her, teaching Liz what unconditional love truly was. When Liz sees an early news report about an attack on Jun'gale where her Nana has retired to live, she knows she will do whatever it takes to save her Nana. Once she gets to Jun'gale she realizes she might have been a little reckless flying to another planet being an unmated Omega in the chaos of the looming attack.

I loved Liz and Blaide. I love how fate brought them together and they were each what the other didn't realize they were missing. Liz was a fierce and loyal little thing. Pushing through her fear to protect the ones she loves. Blaide was swoon worthy. Compassionate and loving, treating Liz as the precious being she was.

Stroking the side of her face, Blaide plunged his fingers into her hair, massaging the base of her ears.
“Because I want you. You’re exquisite. You’re fierce, and loyal, and I don’t want to lose the chance to make you mine.”

This was just so good. Liz and Blaide had this wonderful sweet chemistry and they supported each other so well to get through the oncoming attack. My only complaint is that I wished it was longer. I wanted more!! Now, especially after that epilogue, I cannot wait for Ursuli's upcoming story.

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received an ARC from the authors in exchange for an honest review.

4 stars!

Rescuing Red was a fairytale fusion rerelease and brought all the heat and action! Blaide was the Alpha every Omega deserves to claim and Liz was the kind and sweet soul to go after what she wanted. Blaide was protective, feral in the hottest ways and a cinnamon role under all that Alpha. Liz was fierce and tenacious and I loved her. Liz went to help her Nana and found Blaide in the process. Not only did he help her through her heat but they claimed each other forever even in the face of danger!

“I don’t deserve you, Liz, but I can’t live without you. Once we’ve gotten Nana to safety, I’m going to rut you for days. Knot you for weeks. Pamper you for months. Worship you for years. I need you, little Red. You’re my everything.”

These two were ADORABLE and the story was smutty, action packed and just so sweet. My only complaint was the MCs didn’t really engage until 30% in and so the beginning lagged for me a bit. But once these two united, it was a wild and hot ride. Complete with a swoon worthy HEA and a teaser for what’s next! Enjoyed it!

I was bored by the 30% mark and then was over it by 50% but I pushed on. Idk I think it was the couple or mainly the FMC I didn’t like. It had a lot of over explaining mundane things too and was a little bummed the smut scenes are but on the short side. Again, I think it was just the FMC. I am gonna give the next book a try because it sounded interesting so hopefully it works out. If not, maybe this series just isn’t for me.

This is Red Riding Hood told in the style i’ve come to expect from VT Bonds.
A little Omega with 3 naughty tails that rushes to her Nana’s planet to get her to safety when she hears it’s going to be attacked.
In spite of her mother’s reassurance she’ll be ok,and in fact doesn’t want to leave the planet she calls home.
Liz soon finds out how dangerous it is for an Omega, especially one that’s going into heat,to travel alone when she’s cornered bu not one,but 6 Alphas intent on taking every inch of her.
Lucky for her though, there’s an Alpha that may be a ruthless warrior with a beautiful tail, but is a ruthless warrior with honor.
Blaide came here to live the rest of his life in peace after leaving the army, but one sniff of the sweet, innocent little Omega and his protective nature rises to the fore.
Having heard of an impending attack on the planet,he’s done his best to warn people, but now only wants to go back to his den.
After saving Liz he knows he’s not going there alone,though…..he’s got a little Omega to claim.
And after that, they need to save her Nana.
The story leaves you with an introduction to Blaide’s former military surgeon,Ursuli who’s story will be told in Enchanting Arana.

Sweet and spicy, this story was an entertaining read.
Liz may have been quick to trust Blaide, but he díd save her from those Alphas.
And he díd do everything he promised he would.
And all that while being a caring Alpha to his treasured Omega.
And those tails,and their behaviour,were a fun detail…..

Blaide is everything Liz needed in an Alpha and more!!!

I have a feeling that I’m going to fall in love with all of the Alphas that Leann Ryans and V.T. Bonds have created in this series starting with Blaide in Rescuing Red. What’s not to love? He is strong, loyal, resilient, and compassionate when needed. Blaide and Liz didn’t know what was missing from their life until they met each other. Two lonely people that were just going through the motions until fate stepped in.

Liz leaves home determined to rescue her Nana despite her mother’s concerns. She’s finds herself on another planet that is about to be invaded at any moment. The military isn’t letting anyone leave the city and Liz is desperate to reach her Nana. While trapped in the city, an unfortunate incident occurs and Liz finally crosses paths with Blaide. Her feelings tell her he can be trusted and so she strikes a bargain with him that will change their lives forever.

The journey these two undertake is fraught with danger at every turn, but Blaide is determined to help “his Red” no matter the cost to himself. By the same token, Lis is a fierce little fighter who won’t give up no matter what it takes. Do they allude the enemy soldiers? Are they in time to save Liz’ Nana? More importantly, do Blaide and Liz find in each other what they always wanted in a mate?

Rescuing Red took me on a delightful journey with two amazing people, not just an Alpha and Omega. Blaide and Liz both have qualities that endeared them to me. This book has it all, action, suspense, hot sex, and love. I highly recommend this debut book in this Sci-fi Fairytale Fusions series. I am looking forward to the next book Enchanting Arana. It’s going to be amazing!!

This was a great collaboration between two authors that I've read in the past. They gave us an interesting retelling of The Little Red Riding Hood, giving a more prominent role to the 'nana' (grandmother) than I remember. The big bad wolf in Rescuing Red was actually a phenomenal Alpha- he had all the protectiveness and obsessiveness that comes with the Alpha package sans the alphaholeness that most Alphas display. I loved Blaide because he comes across as a protector that is willing to hold back on his banal instincts in order to avoid further trauma to an already frazzled Omega. As wonderful as Blaide was, Liz the Omega was not exactly my cup of tea. There was something about her- she was so obsessed with getting to her nana and I just couldn't understand why. Despite her lackluster appeal, Blaide made up for it as well as the interesting plot of the book. This was a rather sweet retelling very low on the spicy meter and creative approach to tails :)
I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Gave it another try but there’s just not enough depth in this book to hold my interest. It’s a sign when I start skimming through parts to find something compelling to read.

I found Liz frustrating- not just naive but really not a “think outside the box” type of character. Too impulsive and seemed really really young. It’s not an age thing- the cunning and smart characters I’ve read in young adult books support that…but sheltered and really not too bright. (Sorry if that is insulting to those who like her).

I like Blaide- typical alpha with protective instincts and a seemingly good head on his shoulders. That being said- he wants to claim her right after meeting her? That’s kind of ridiculous. Maybe have a conversation first? Maybe it’s an innate thing based on pheromones?

I admit some of the touching tails interaction is a bit sweet. Her loyalty to her grandmother was nice.

A lot of unanswered questions- like- don’t you think her mom might be worried about her and looking for her after she took off to a planet that’s about to be attacked? Blaide is going to go find her nana but as mentioned in the book- it’s a big village- does he have a description, last name? (Or was that a part I skimmed over)? Where did she get the money to pay for her room in the city, given she was strapped to even pay for a meal? So many questions!!

So - to summarize- life is short- there are a ton of books I want “to read next”. Just can’t spend anymore time on this one.

This was ok, but needed more depth. Was it a novella? If it was, that would explain all the areas it was lacking, areas such as: character development, insta love, little to no dialogue etc.

I love books written by both these authors, so it was no surprise to me that Rescuing Red was so engaging and enjoyable. This is Book #1 in a new series based on well-known fairytales the authors have reimagined in science fiction settings—talk about ‘twisted tales!’ In Liz (aka “Red”), we get a vastly different heroine from Red Riding Hood; also there is Liz’s very capable grandmother, Nana; and a hunky heroic wolf (oops, sorry: “Vuk” is the species name).

Liz/Red may be young, a little naive and inexperienced but she has the courage of a battle-maiden and gives all her heart and all her efforts to help in trying to save a village-full of people. The Vuk is an Alpha who—Blaide is his name—turns out to be her fated mate. The fire between this Alpha/Omega couple burns sizzlingly hot! The story has unexpected twists and a good measure of suspense that kept me rapidly turning pages. The ending came too swiftly for me! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

I love when authors team up and put their own spin on beloved fairy tales. VT and Leann's take on Little Red Riding Hood is just epic. This is action packed and has all the alpha/omega steam I could ask for.
I adore Liz, when she up and leaves her home to save her Nana from approaching danger, I knew I would love her. Her determination, bravery, and loyalty are all the things I love to see in a heroine - add just the right amount of vulnerability, it made her character believable.
Blaide is all the swoon worthy Alpha I could ask for with his gruff exterior and want of solitude after his nightmarish stint in the military. When he comes upon his mate, Liz aka Little Red, he learns the real meaning of living and to what extents he would go for to make sure he has many years to enjoy with her.
This story may not be as steamy as some of this team's past works, but the plot didn't lack at all. I found myself completely engrossed and eating up the words as the plot unfolded. I really enjoyed how everything played out and they got their happily ever after. I can't wait to see where these two take me with Ursuli's story because their intro to him has my interests beyond peaked after being ramped with Liz and Blaide's story.

Being a fan of both VT Bonds and Leann Ryans AND of fairytales, sci-fi, alien monster romances, reading this was an easy decision for me to make. And I was not disappointed. Add in the ABO funfest, and I’m gonna be right here for the rest of the series.

I found the story to be fun, exciting, romantic, sweet and page turning. The characters were very well developed and relatable -as a sci ABO character can be. There was spice, adventure, danger and it’s an ABO fairy tail sci-fi fusion - what more can you ask for.

This is fantastic. A retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, with a sci-fi and Omegaverse setting. This Red, Liz, is close emotionally to her Nana, another omega, but separated by distance. When danger threatens, Liz travels to the planet where her grandmother lives to get her. Thrilling and exciting, this story engages the reader's emotions: there's love, peril, and a hot Alpha facing the heroine. A brilliant start to this series of Sci-fi Fairytale Fusions.

A sweet but sensual omegaverse retelling of the big bad wolf, Rescuing Red will have you rooting for Little Red and her charmingly brutal Alpha wolf. Dominance and possessiveness (with clear respect for his Omega) abound. Highly recommend!

I want to reread it all over again!

To start off with when you have a book written by either of these ladies, you can be assured that there will be a steamy story filed with beautiful darkness. Alphas that will make you squirm and omegas that will give them a run for their money, separately these authors each know the Omegaverse well. Together they give you a story that is explosive. I could not put this story down. Seriously, once I picked it up i didn't put it down until 3 hours later when I finished it. I real want 3 tails now😫

Yeah, it's got elements of a fairytale retelling, but it is so much more. I loved the idea that the characters aren't human but are each different species of 'alien' that when they cross each other's path - fate intervenes. It's a highly dangerous environment, emotions are running high. When Blaide saves Red and decides to help her safe her Nana though he just met her, it feels authentic to the character. His desire for her to be his mate has him willing to go up against an army to win her approval. Their adventure to go to Nana's house turns out to be so much more as the planet gets invaded and they learn how much the other means to them. I can't wait until the next book. Great collaboration ladies

OPINION OVERVIEW
Okay, so I went into this book totally blind (I only know what has been said on the blurb) and I totally love it. This is a fast-paced, insta-love, sci-fi romance with ABO dynamics and bits of Little Red Riding Hood . The authors have sure written some real sexy good times between the MCs while also ensuring a quality story line that runs through the book.

I like how the H has a strong sense of responsibility and ethics to help the villagers when he doesn't have to. I especially love the way H cares for his Omega and softens every time he is with her. This big, bad wolf might not be so bad afterall. :)

BRIEF SUMMARY OF BOOK
Elizabeth/Liz (h)'s grandmother is living on a planet where invasion by enemy troops is fast approaching. Her grandmother refused to evacuate until there is official announcement by the government, which Liz is worried might be too late. So Liz took things into her own hands and travelled to the planet with a plan to persuade her grandma to evacuate asap. While arriving at the planet, Liz is met with obstacles to get past the city walls toward the village where her grandma lives, but fortunate for her, Blaide (H) is there for the rescue.

This is a standalone book in a series.

THE GOOD
The fast-paced plot keeps you on edge and is a total page-turner.
Real hot sexy times between the two MCs featuring a very alpha-but-caring H and a strong and loyal h.
There is a solid plot despite the steamy scenes and being a relatively short book.

THE BAD
The downside of this book is that it is a little too short to fully expand the character and world building, but nonetheless, it is a good quick read over the weekend for me.
Cover image of the H is not really my usual thing but I came to like the H a lot after reading the book.
The HFN ending is not really my style.

THE ENDING
It seems to be a HFN instead of a HEA to me.
Although this is a standalone book in a series, I have a feeling that there is a overarching plot that runs through all the standalone books and that we have to read all of them to get the sense of the HEA.

WILL I...
Recommend this book? Yes to people who enjoy Omegaverse romance.
Read the next book? Yes, I am looking forward to Ursuli's story, which is a Little Mermaid retelling.

SAFETY
H (Hero): Blaide Woodzmin (Alpha and retired militant)
h (heroine): Elizabeth/Liz (Omega)
Steam level: Moderate (there are only a few steamy scenes in the book but I feel that it is adequate for the length of the book and also they are well written to make up for it)
Descriptive sex: Yes
Safe sex: No (the usual Omegaverse knotting and breeding is present in this book)
OM (Other Men)/OW (Other Women) drama: No
Sexual acts with OM/OW: No
Sex scenes with OM/OW: No
Virgin: No
Insta-love: Yes
Push/Pull: No

Hot Alpha anyone?
Liz's Nana is in danger! Her planet is about to be attacked and Liz takes it upon herself to go and bring her to safety. Her red skin and three tails make her unique to her kind but it was her grandmother who made her see how truly special of an Omega she was. Once she reaches Jun'gale, she gets a map then finds a room to rest before she sets out.
Blaide is ex-military and he just wants to be left alone in his den to live quietly. War left him with scars both visible and invisible. He receives a message about enemy warships approaching and no troops coming to help evacuate civilians. Even without a team, he knows he has to help them or they won't make it.
When he gets to town, he tells them he's leaving and will lead out whoever wants to go to the major city. Reaching the gate, a scent hits his senses but he can't locate it.
After dreaming of a gorgeous Alpha, Liz wakes up, plans her route out of the city and leaves her room.
Blaide, awake from sweet dreams of an Omega, sets out to see the state of the city. The first thing he smells is that same scent he smelled when he entered the city. An Omega, an unmated Omega. Then, he sees her and she's a Vuk, just like him. Beautiful!
When he sees six Alpha slavers surrounding her, he steps in to save his little Red. Six against one, he likes those odds.
After he disposes of her attackers, he takes her to his room. She should be afraid but she's not actually. It's then that she realizes that she'd ignored the signs of her heat and it's almost upon her. She asks for his help in both finding her Nana and a safe place to nest.
He's been alone for a long time but he has to admit, he wanted her from the first moment he caught her scent. Not because she was an Omega but her!
He'll help her find her Nana plus help her find a safe place to nest. But that nest has to be his den where he will claim her as his own.
Protective, ex military, brave, hero and don't forget caring. What else could an Omega ask for?
While it DOES NOT end in a cliffhanger, it does set up for the next soldier in the series. I really wish the epilogue would have given a peek into Blaide and Liz's future. I still enjoyed it.

'All she needed to do was get face-to-face with her. The second her omega grandmother saw her, she’d do anything to get her precious Liz to safety.
And if Nana was busy ushering Liz away from danger, then she’d be safe, too.'

I loved this book! An alien omegaverse retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, and I was all for it. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Liz and Blaide. I love that Liz was a kitsune. I hardly ever get to read about kitsune characters- and I'll admit I was imagining her fluffy tails more than once. It was interesting Liz's mom was.. well.. alive. I don't think I've ever heard of any other living relatives in a Red Riding Hood retelling. I liked that her grandmother was also an omega.

I loved that Blaide had been a soldier. He'd survived while many had died, and now lives alone in his den in the jungle away from others. But when a friend sends him a message asking for him to help warn civilians of an immanent attack because his old commander was refusing to do so and wouldn't do anything until it was too late, he immediately geared up, left his home behind, and set out.

'The smart thing to do would be to hunker down and wait, but leaving others defenseless left a vile taste in his mouth. His need to protect wouldn’t allow him to stay.
He took one last look around his den, knowing that when he stepped out the door, he might never see it again... He’d built this place. He could build another if needed. The people were more important, and even without his team at his back, he had a duty to uphold. The end of his service didn’t equate to the end of his need to thwart the invasive enemy scumbags whenever he had the chance.'

It showed so much of his honor and character, and I loved him so much from then onward. Despite her going into heat, he still respected her wishes, and would protect her. They had great chemistry. This story was a fun adventure in an awesome series. 5 stars.

DNF 32%
Omegaverse in general is not something I enjoy reading, mostly because the power imbalance in these stories is usually enormous, with the alphas holding all the cards and the omegas just having to take anything they give them because they are powerless to resist for one reason or another. That wasn’t too big of a deal in this story, surprisingly. But that’s the only positive thing I have to say about it.
Liz was way too childlike for my taste. Add to that the size difference, and the ambiguous ages of both, and this was quite uncomfortable for me.
Nobody is properly described. I have no idea what Liz or Blaide look like, beyond a couple attributes. The world isn’t described either. The author seems to rely on the fact this is omegaverse and the reader is going to know what the deal is with alphas and betas and omegas without explanation, but that leaves everything way too vague. How often is the heat? How rare are omegas? Can they be male, or only female? Can they mate anyone or just an alpha? What’s the deal with claiming? Some characteristics are mentioned, like the alphas being bigger than anyone else, but then there’s this guy who's an alpha but small, so I got really confused.
Why this planet where “Nana” is is being attacked I have no idea. Who is fighting who? Why? There’s mention of Blaide’s “coronation”, but then he was a Corporal, so I have no idea what his role is.
The writing is weird, and the storyline beat around the bush a lot. I stopped at 32% and they just met, yet he’s super into her, to the point that he not only wants to “service” her, he wants to claim her (whatever that means, it’s not explained). There’s no mention of fated mates or anything like that, so it makes no sense. The blurb made it sound interesting, but the actual story was just meh, so I’m stopping. There’s way better stuff to read.

I love a good wolf romance but this one was a twist I didn’t see coming. VT Bonds has such a way with drawing you into the story and making it come to life. You start reading thinking this is not something I’m going to enjoy, only to find out you can’t put it down. Thankfully she is the master of short stories and you don’t have to put it down.

Rescuing Red is the story of Blaide and Liz. Blaide is a former solider who just wanted to find a corner of the world that was calm, with natural resources and live a quiet life. But an invasion comes and he is forced to help the village on the outskirts of his cabin. As he leads the village people into the city for protection he comes across the smell of his mate. Only to find her distressed and trying to leave the city to find her Nana during the start of her heat.

This crazy story is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Liz spends her last few credits to travel through space to get to her Nana to try and save her from the incoming invasion. She has no idea how she is going to get to her Nana but her sheer will and determination drive her forward. As her path crosses with Blaide she realizes she has to trust the Alpha to help her not only get her Nana but date her baser needs to mate and date her desire.

I love the way Blaide sees Liz through the lense of love. I think my favorite parts are when her tails play with his as she is unaware of it happening. He loves it just as much as her tails do. The nearness and the joy spreads off of the page and into your chest.

I love the writing style of VT Bonds and highly recommend her books if you want a short, spicy and epic read.

A first acquaintance with these authors, but certainly not the last book I will read by them.

This is the beginning of a series in which you are taken into worlds created before your eyes by the descriptions of the writers.
A story ala little red riding hood who finds her wolf. To the outside world Blaide looks like the big bad wolf but to Elizabeth - Liz - he is protective and honorable.

Liz finds out that the planet Jun'gale is under attack and her Nana lives there. Since Nana refuses to go to Numania, Liz decides to go to Jun'gale to pick up her grandmother.
Once in Mesi, Jun'gale's largest city, she realizes it won't be easy to leave the city with the threat of attack by Krantor.
Trapped by 6 alphas and threatened to be traded into slavery, she is rescued by a large terrifying alpha. But this alpha inspires her not fear but admiration as he fights the others away from her.
Blaide had already smelled the little red woman, her scent of her heat a clear sign. He saves her and finds his fated mate with her

Together they go looking for Nana. Their journey is fraught with peril with the attackers on their heels. Their bond strengthens when they have to rely on each other.

An open ending which is an introduction to a follow-up book about the Reaper Ursuli in the Paranormal Retelling of The Little Mermaid

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and voluntarily reviewing it. This book packed a punch and told the best love story in an apocalyptic time. Elizabeth is a kitsune omega living in Numania. She needed to get to her Nana in Jun’gale because the area was going to be invaded and Nana refused to leave. Liz to the rescue. Unfortunately this was not an easy feat. On top of all this, Liz’s heat went unnoticed by her until she was in danger of being attacked by several alphas.

Blaide is a kitsune alpha living off the grid after being in the military. After getting a message about the attack, Blaide decided to head to the city. The city is providing refuge for everyone. He led a small group to the city with the hopes of gathering supplies and getting back to his den. While in the city, he smelled at scent that he knew was his mate. He finally ran into Liz while she was being accosted by six alphas.

With these two together, they manage to get Liz through her heat and take on trying to find Liz’s Nana. Blaide knows what he wants. Liz is it for him. Can he convince her to give up the single life for him? He promises her the only thing she wants. A vow to find her Nana. Will these two succeed? This book is a fast read. Readers will get caught up in the fast-paced action that takes place in this book. These two authors are coming together to remake fairytales. I am here for it.

a sweet, cute, fast paced easy read. Liz needs to rescue her nana on another world about to be invaded and against the advice of her mother and not realizing her heat is about to start she sets off. She is attacked by multiple alphas and saved by Blaide a humongous warrior who promises to help her rescue nana and thru her heat but only if he can claim her. instantly trusting him because her instincts say she can plus the fact that he saved her she agrees and they set off to get her thru her heat and save nana. the story tells of the adventure of that happening. this is not really a high heat or smutty story. there is actually very little which was disappointing. Liz's heat should have been much more detailed since its a big part of the story but sadly the author missed a chance her to enhance the plot. then there are promises of more to come once everything is ok again but the author doesn't deliver that in the book either. bit disappointing to be honest. Blaide shows Liz that he cares for her, respects her and treats her carefully which means Nana likes him immediately since she was not treated well by her alpha's. Omega's on their world can often be treated as possessions and not kept safe but Blaide proves that he isn't like that esp when he helps save nana and other villagers.

Rescuing Red was an exciting read! Every book in this series has had a different tone and feel, and this one worked really well for me.

I struggled with the heroine Liz at first because her insistence on going into what she knows will become a war zone, on a planet she’s never been to before, without any preparation or resources, seemed immature. But Ryans and Bonds quickly show how she realizes that she’s out of her depth. And that’s where her hero Blaide comes in. Former military and living on his own, he becomes Liz’s protector when her oncoming omega heat attracts the wrong kind of alphas. Of course, Blaide is also an alpha, and some instincts cannot be ignored.

What Ryans and Bonds portray really well in Rescuing Red is an evacuee situation. From Blaide moving from being a loner to the leader of ragtag groups of refugees, with Liz assuming a subtle form of leadership and encouragement, from the ever-present danger of discovery by the enemies, Ryans and Bonds create a tension in Rescuing Red that made me keep turning pages wondering what would come next. The sense of insecurity and exhaustion they portray in Rescuing Red was gripping, making it a great start to the Sci-Fi Fairytale Fusions series.

At 65% and I've totally stalled with this book. It isn't terrible in the same way that boiled potatoes aren't but just like those non-descript and rather bland starchy items it just didn't have enough flavour to hold my interest.

I found the heroine to be rather a drip, full of rash decisions and impulsive choices. In her defence she is very young and the way she was written reflected those childhood fairytale heroines. However I moved on from those stories for a reason - I'm no longer that little girl but am an adult woman.

The hero was much more to my taste, though I've just had to look up what his name was, which shows how forgettable the whole reading experience was. He's called Blaide by the way - I'm surprised I did forget that because I felt the name didn't suit him and was far to reminiscent of watching UK Gladiator's back in the 1990's.

For me this was pleasant but unmemorable, it just didn't have the grit, depth or emotional impact I look for in a story. It was, for me, words on a page rather than a tale that drew me in and held me captivated.

I loved this read by joint authors, enjoyable characters and great plot plus riveting reading
This was a simply fantastic read I had been looking forward to this new series and cannot recommend it enough, the joint collaboration has knocked the ball right out the field and I cannot wait for the second book in this series,
Liz “Red” as she is better known is a heroine in a very different vein from the wolf on Little Red Riding Hood and then there is her wonderful grandmother Nana who is able to take action if needed, then there is the hunky heroine “Vuk” by the name of Blaide which will leave you drooling.
Red many be young and a little on the naïve and inexperienced but when it counted, she had a battle courage that would have stunned King Arthur and she was determined to save a whole village of people which is nothing to be sniffed at.
I guarantee that you will love the story and I am not going to give too much away so will let you discover the outcome foy yourselves.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

In this adaptation of Little Red Ridinghood, the wolf is the hero. It was great how this character was changed. it could have so easily have been predictable in making him an alphahole.
Blaide was a wolflike alpha male with scruples. He was a military vet with a deep sense of loyalty and caring for others. Unbeknownst to him, the one thing he was missing was the omega that would fill the whole in him.
Liz was the epitome of little red riding hood. Although she was capable of showing strength when it was most needed, there was still an innocence and naivete to her. She was loyal to a fault, hense how they came to be a the dangerous situation.
This is a nice fairly light read. There is some action and some heat. The OD scenes were a little one side, for my taste. They seemed to focus more on her than him.
So far I have enjoyed the first and the last of this series. I would be interested in reading how the other members of this squad get their mates.
If you like reading twists on fairy tales, you may enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Rescuing Red: A Steamy Alien Monster Romance (Sci-Fi Fairytale Fusions Book 1) by VT Bonds and Leann Ryan is an exceptional read that captures the imagination. Liz is determined to rescue her stubborn Nana, and despite being an omega, she bravely sets off alone to a distant planet. However, it's not long before she realizes she needs rescuing herself. Blaide, a battle-hardened Alpha who's spent years in military service, never anticipated finding his mate, but when he sees Liz in danger, his instinct to protect kicks in.

Together, they embark on a perilous journey to save Liz's Nana and potentially discover something deeper between them. The chemistry between Liz, with her sweet yet fiery spirit, and Blaide, a rugged warrior with a softer side, is captivating. They are undeniably made for each other, but they must survive the challenges of an alien invasion to achieve their goals.

The world-building is remarkable, featuring intriguing planets and diverse species that enrich the story. If you're a fan of alien romances filled with scents, knots, mating, shifters, and ABO classifications, all wrapped up in a thrilling adventure, then Rescuing Red is an absolute must-read!

Loved this twist on the retelling of little red riding hood. It's a sweet little omegaverse story with lots of action and danger surrounding them. Its a fantastic beginning to this new series and I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series!

Blaide is everything you could want in an Alpha. He is caring and protective and treats his omega like the treasure she is. I loved that he treats her like an equal not something that is weak and can't take care of herself.

Liz I found to be a little dumb at times until I got further into the story and came to understand her a little better. I wanted at the beginning to just wring her stupid little neck...she came close a few times to falling on to the TSTL side. But I came to understand that most of her troubles at the beginning of the story was because of her stubbornness to get to her nana and her worry over the danger her nana was in.

Sweet, a little dark, and very well written

I have been meaning to read books from both of these authors for some time now and since I love fairytale retellings, this was the perfect opportunity. Liz is sweet and kind and caring and willing to do whatever it takes to protect her Nana and get her somewhere safe. Her good intentions and naïveté put her in harm’s was, but thankfully Blaide is there to save the day. Despite their instant connection and mutual chemistry, there’s still the danger to contend with and the issue of finding Liz’s Nana and getting her to safety. I love the characters because of their strength and depth (in addition to their personalities), the storyline is consistent and well executed, the world building is incredible, and we see these characters get a happy ending but the door opens for the next book which seems very promising. I’m so excited to read that one too!
