Musician Ford Malone left Texas, without so much as a backward glance—lured by the bright lights of L.A. and the all-consuming world of rock and roll. It’s taken a while, but his star is finally starting to shine. Ready to take the world by storm with his new band, Nobody’s Fool, nothing will stand in his way. Until he sees her again... the girl he left behind.
Since the death of her parents, Sydney Aiken has had no time for romance. Her entire life now revolves around being a full-time mom to her three much-younger siblings. And even if she were interested, the last person on earth she’d get involved with would be the jerk who broke her heart and walked away seven years ago.
A chance encounter brings them face to face and as the past and present collide, Sydney is caught between protecting her family and following her heart. Seven years is a long time, and Ford has no idea he’s about to untangle a web of ugly secrets. But the only woman he’s ever loved is about to slip through his fingers...for the second time. Will he realize that only she can play the melody of his heart?
I enjoyed every moment of Ford and Sydney’s journey. It was full of heart and hope and so much *happy sigh* I can’t even begin to describe it. These two, their past and their present, are a perfect storm and Kat made so many good choices for their story. It wasn’t just their romantic journey that had me feeling all the things but also the journey away from the choices and manipulations of their past.
I’ve enjoyed this series from the start and Kat Mizera has proven once again she’s an author I can trust with my #oneclick so go do the thing >> https://geni.us/FastForwardKM
Wow, I did not expect everything we got out of Fast Forward by Kat Mizera, easily my favorite book in this series. Secrets, lies, and young lovers who were split apart by them all, this book was fast paced and gripping.
This second chance romance was not an easy one, but I loved every minute of it. Seven years ago a then 17 year old Ford and a 16 year old Sydney were madly in love and planning a life together. Then Sydney’s father, a musician Ford played with, told him if he went near his daughter again he’d file statutory rape charges against him. He then told Sydney that Ford wanted nothing more to do with her and confiscated her phone so there would be no contact. Now seven years later in a bar in Texas where Sydney lives, she sees Ford for the first time in person and it rocks them both. When Ford confronts her he begins to piece together that she’d had a baby and it was his. In addition she is raising her two siblings and their child who thinks she’s his sister because her parents claimed him for their own. Her parents went “missing” over a year ago and Sydney is running herself ragged trying to keep bills paid and raising a teenager, a 6 year old, and an 18 month old. To say both of them are angry and hurt is putting it mildly and as they figure out what went down and how they both were betrayed they start to repair their friendship.
I loved seeing this different side of Ford who has quite the reputation with women and is “fake dating” a model at the time which doesn’t help convincing Sydney he wants to be a dad to their child. Sydney has her own trust issues and worries that Owen will wind up like she and her sister Kristen did always waiting for his dad to come home, for him to never really help and only be the “fun” parent. These two had to work on their issues and in doing so they grew closer. Their chemistry was explosive, there was never an issue of them being compatible physically it’s a matter of them learning to trust one another again.
Sweet, emotional, and sexy; Fast Forward was an amazing end to this series.
In past books we've heard Ford talk about Sydney a bit, so getting to see what happened to them in the past and how they end up back together was good. Both Ford and Sydney were screwed over by her parents in a big way, but that was nothing compared to the big stunt they pulled. Holy Cow! All I could think was that they were selfish people and I wanted them to get taken down in a very big, public way so that everyone would know the horrible things they did!
Things with Ford and Sydney were very much are they or aren't they for much of this book, but once they were all in, they were all in and moved fast to solidify the family. So great to see!

Boring AF who wants to read a romance books constantly talking about money, the lack of it, budgets and loans? that was a clinical, unromantic book with zero attraction. Hard pass
Since Ford walked away from her, from them, Sydney has led a life she certainly wasn't expecting. She's the full time guardian to her three siblings, works more than one job, and has no time for love, men, or relationships. Then she runs into Ford again, and he seems determined to have a second chance with her. Is it even possible? With the secret Sydney's been carrying around, with her life in upheaval since her parents disappeared? Is Ford's new lifestyle conducive to family life, to maintaining a relationship?
Now that Ford is back in Sydney's life and he has everything he ever wanted, he has to decide if he can have it all, or if something has to give. Can he have his second chance, a family with Sydney, AND his band? Or does a sacrifice have to be made, either on her side, or his?
I loved being back in the Rock Hard world, back with the royals and the rockstars, and I absolutely loved Sydney and Ford and their family. Their second chance was hard fought for and hard won, with lots of heart. Can't wait for more of Kat's rockstars now.
ARC provided by Elle Woods PR for an honest review.
Ford and Sydney’s story was one that had me reading it in one sitting because I could not put it down. It’s about second chances at a love that was ripped from them by two people who should have done everything to bring them together instead of tear them apart. We’ll find that these two people were beyond words and did not deserve to be called parents. Seven years later and Sydney is now raising three of her siblings, working two job and trying to keep the family together giving them the love their parents weren’t capable of.
During this time Ford had left to make a name for himself rocking out to the world with his up-and-coming band. He was given no choice but to leave the love of his life behind. Now after all this time and an accidental meeting things are heating up for Ford and Sydney yet again only this time there are other people to consider. Could they make a life for themselves with Sydney raising these children and Ford always on the road touring?
This was a heartfelt and sexy read that had some crazy surprises and gave me the HEA I was looking for. This is definitely not only a book to devour but this series was awesome as well.
Kat Mizera has done it again with a rock romance that included all the feels! Ford and Sydney are going to melt your heart. Ford can bring out the gritty rocker when he needs to and Sydney is a strong independent woman but they will both bring joy to your heart. Sydney and Ford fell in love when they were only in their teens. Lies and deception separates them and keeps them from being the family they always wanted to be. Fast Forward seven years and a chance meeting in a restaurant/bar while celebrating her birthday, Sydney is struck by how much she still feels for Ford. Ford can't keep his eyes off Sydney. The spark is still there. He would love to just catch up with her and her life but apologies need to be made and trust has to be formed once again and all the lies need to be uncovered. I don't think I could truly pick an all time favorite book by Kat Mizera but this one is truly up in my top rockers!
One of those books that reminds you that there are amazing people in this world and a few spectacularly crappy ones too. Sydney and Ford are wonderful and I really enjoyed the secondary cast of characters. I love a secret baby and this certainly delivered. It was the type of story where you often felt like you knew what was coming next but it just made it all the sweeter. I appreciated the real life rep and that it involved the less sexy side of musician life

This is the last book in the series and I have really enjoyed it. Each book easily stands alone and features a different couple. This is a rock and roll romance with a second chance at love.
FORD
This is Ford's story and it was one of my favorites in the series. If you have been reading this series, Ford is the last single guy standing. He also has been fake engaged to Aspen, a youtuber and actress/model for the last six months. She is a Lesbian and has been pretending to date Ford to help her reputation and he really needed the money, so she has been paying him to help her.
MY FEELINGS ABOUT ASPEN IN THIS BOOK
In the last book she seemed nice but I really hated her relationship with Ford. I am not a fan of threesomes and her and Ford had those in previous books while they were pretending to date. In this book they never have sex. But the world still believes they are dating. So while Ford never cheats, the world still thinks they are together. For most of the book Aspen is not around at all. But in the last part of the book she has a small part and it was the part of the book I least enjoyed.
SYDNEY
Sydney is the daughter of a rocker and his wife who went missing a year ago and were thought to be dead but no bodies were found. They left behind three kids, one a teenager, a 7 year old and a toddler who is 18 months. Sydney became an insta mom to all three. She works two jobs to support her family and one night she goes out to celebrate her birthday and thats when she runs into Ford who is in town.
Lets say these two have old business. When Ford chases Syd she says something to him that opens many questions and he can't let it go so he forces a confrontation.
Thats when all her and his secrets come out and they have to try and find out who they each are some seven years later. It was a really awesome end to this series and I hope Syd's sister Kristin gets a story and Kingston too. I loved who Ford becomes in this story and we get to see him grow up a lot in this book and this series. It was an awesome finish to this wonderful series and I cannot wait to see what new rockers the author writes about next.
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sometimes it’s sad to see things end, and that is the case with the last book in the Rock Hard series but does it go out with a bang!
I have always loved Kat Mizera’s books and this series was a super fun and super sexy one, which is exactly what you would expect from this amazing author. I thought my favourite was Bash’s book (Rewind, book 3), however Ford just stole my heart!
Seven years ago, Ford left Texas and didn’t look back. It hurt what he was leaving behind but at the time, he needed to move forward even if what he left behind was the love of his life. Fast forward and fate has brought them back together again – in a big way!
I loved the storyline and the characters which are so multi-dimensional and multi-layered. Sometimes things that happen in the past will still resonate in the present in such a profound and passionate way. I loved the journey of these two characters (their own and the one they forged together) to get from where they were on their own and how they finally met up again with that one chance encounter.
I loved all the characters and you just felt part of the storyline. Now we just have to see if there’s a story in the future for Kingston Knight. If each story within the Rock Hard series was exceptional, I have a feeling if Kingston gets his story it will be epic!
Do not miss this fun, sexy, engaging and fabulous read. It has a little bit of everything for everyone!!
Ford Malone is the guitar player for Nobody's Fool and back in Texas when he sees Sydney Aiken at a club. Ford and Sydney were young and in love when lies, threats, and misunderstandings drove them apart. Ford is confused about how Sydney reacts to seeing him that he knows he must confront her about their past. Sydney has been working two jobs and taking care of her siblings since her parents disappeared while on vacation and presumed dead. How will Sydney and Ford react when they unravel the lies her father told them to drive them apart 7 years ago? How will Ford react when he learns he missed to much time with Sydney and their son? Will Sydney and Ford give their love a second chance? Can Sydney move past her issues with her parent's lifestyle and give her feelings and love Ford a real chance? I loved Sydney and Ford. Sydney is a strong woman who puts her family first. Ford is a great guy who is willing to give up everything for Sydney, his son, and her siblings. The chemistry and love between Ford and Sydney is explosive. I loved how the other members of Nobody's Fool and Kingston Knight are there to support and offer advice to Ford and Sydney. I would highly recommend getting Fast Forward and the other books in the Hard Rock series by Kat Mizera. I received an ARC copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
“Fast Forward” was an emotional story about miscommunication and second chances. I loved Ford from the other three stories and was glad we finally got his story.
The last seven years of Sydney’s life have not been easy. And it hasn’t been easy for Ford either. Sydney’s father put a stop to their relationship and cut off all communication between the two. However, fate has brought them back together. Secrets from the past come to light and these two need to work though the past so they can have a future together.
The last seven years left a lot of baggage for Sydney and Ford to work through. I really thought at one point they were going to be able to because of the lies they were told by her parents. But thankfully, the second chance they were given ended in a HEA. Sydney was so hurt from the lies that were told to her that she held back and built a pretty big wall around herself. But being the amazing guy he is, Ford slowly knocked them down to prove that they were worth it. I love the plot twists that were in the story. It added some suspense to the storyline that had me turning the pages until I finished. I’ve got my fingers crossed that we get a spin off series for the guys from Onyx Knights!
Torn apart as young lovers by fate brings Ford Malone and Sydney Aiken back together again with shocking reveals and a tangled web of secrets and lies neither was prepared to face.
Ohhh, Kat, this book was off the hook with a plot both twisted and complicated while also steeped in rekindling a love cut way too short 7 years ago. I really adored both Ford and Sydney. Ford was everything as he maintained a cool he didn’t need to and worked to give Sydney and her siblings the support and love they needed. And, Sydney trying to put her siblings first while learning to trust Ford again after the heartbreak they faced so many years ago.
I really think Fast Forward was my favorite book of the series. This couple had some truly insane adversity to work through and I loved watching how supportive the rest of the band was throughout as well, backing Ford in every way possible. I have to be honest, I’m kind of hoping Kat gives readers a book with Kingston (or a whole series for Onyx Knight) in the future as well as one for Sydney’s sister Kirsten as they were both awesome characters.
Fast Forward was one heck of a romance with a plot crazy enough to keep readers glued to their kindles while rooting for Ford and Sydney to find their HEA! 5 stars!
Ford and Sydney fell fast and hard for each other when they were teenagers. Ripped away from each other and lied to, he had no choice but to leave her. Neither one forgot the other and a chance encounter begins their second chance.
This book had me hooked from the beginning. The emotions they went through were realistic, heartbreaking and poignant. Owen is a great kid and I loved how Ford dealt with everything. Sydney was strong, but had a softer side as well. Left to raise her siblings after her parents go missing, she is running ragged. The two people who should have been there for her and supporting the relationship ended up being very immature and tactless people.
Whether Ford and Sydney can find a way to their happiness remains to be seen and they face a lot of battles to win the war. I am sad to see the end of this series but it was a great way to end it. Hopefully, we can get a follow up book to let us know how things are going for the members of the band and Sydney’s sister.
I highly recommend this book, and the series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
Fast Forward is a heartbreaking and beautiful second chance story about Ford and Sydney. I enjoyed reading their story and thought they were perfect for each other. However, heartache and pain from the past could ruin their future hopefully, they won’t let that happen.
Ford is an up and coming rockstar with the group Nobody’s Fool. Sydney and Ford fell in love when they were teenagers, but misunderstandings tore them apart. Now, seven years later, they meet again.
Sydney is afraid to trust Ford again; she finds it impossible to let go of the past. I understood Sydney’s reluctance to give Ford a second chance but I was hoping she would give in and try to forget past mistakes. I thought Ford was the perfect boyfriend. He is a thoughtful, caring, down to earth guy and he never gives up on Sydney.
Ford and Sydney are perfect for each other and I was rooting for them to work through all their issues, so they could finally be together. I found it hard to put this book down because I needed to know what would happen next. I highly recommend this tender, emotional story.
I truly enjoyed getting to know Ford, Sydney and the Aiken kids. This was a family meant to be, even with the obstacles they had to climb. I loved that this book was low on drama but that it kept you in suspense at the same time.
I loved how Nobody's Fool, and even Onxy Knights, embraced Sydney and the kids as part of their family. Yeah the anger and frustration that both Ford and Sydney dealt with wasn't easy. But they both had been young and easily manipulated. They had a lot to work through, especially Sydney. This book wasn't what I expected. It was more. It was a second chance at not only love but life. I loved how even though we were dealing with rock stars we were able to see that it's not all riches and royalties. It made them feel more real, more at my level. I did get frustrated with Sydney at times but I could also understand how she felt. Ford I loved. The man realized what he had and was willing to fight for it, no matter the cost. I just love a well deserved happily-ever-after.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
I have been waiting for Ford’s story since book 1 of the series and Ms. Mizera did not disappoint me. In fact the book blew me away and I honestly can’t recommend it, and the entire series, enough. The book is very well written with a storyline that will have your emotions on high alert. Ford and Sydney’s story broke my heart when the two teen lovers were torn apart. But when Nobody's Fool, the band Ford plays for, returns to his hometown the two run into each other after 7 years and quickly learn it’s time to discuss what happened all those years ago.
Neither Ford nor Sydney have had it easy. In fact Ford is broke and just getting his life back together after a prison stint for something he didn’t do and Sydney recently lost her parents and is raising her 3 siblings. But with all that has happened, the lies, deception and hurt, can these two get past it and at least be friends?
Awesome read. I hope this isn’t the end and we see more of the amazing peeps that make up Nobody’s Fool and their inner circle.
Sydney thought Ford was her forever guy until he up and left breaking her heart, leaving her not only with her controlling parents but also being a parent to her siblings and more. Thankfully both she and Ford get a chance meeting a seven years later and this time Ford is not going to walk away as much as Sydney wants him to as secrets and the lies told to them both need to be worked through. You feel the struggle they both go through as they try to work though the new normal along with Sydney's hesitation to allow herself to feel for Ford again due to so so many reasons which has you wanting to shake sense into her as well as need Ford to really fight for her. You get laughs, tears, surprises (I still think of Kirsten's surprise and how it leads to so much more) and shock twists as well as familiar faces and a story that has you turning the page to make sure Sydney and Ford have the HEA they always deserved.
Sydney fell in love with Ford when they were teenagers, and she was devastated when he left her and his hometown behind to pursue his musical career with no explanation or further contact. Seven years later fate brings Ford back into her life, but she is no longer the same person and has been raising her siblings since her parents passed away. She can’t afford to be distracted by any man even if he still owns a piece of her heart.
Leaving Sydney was a necessity and not a choice and the years they have been apart have been just as difficult for Ford as what Sydney endured. The chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever but will it be enough to overcome the pain of the past?
Sydney and Ford have always belonged together and seeing them find their way back to each other is everything you could want and more.
This is the fourth book in this phenomenal series and is Ford and Sydney’s story. Ford left home to follow his dream, and Sydney is the girl left behind. Sydney is “mom” to her three younger siblings, and is working two jobs to support them, leaving no time for relationships. Seven years later fate has destined Ford and Sydney to cross paths, and with Sydney weighed down with seven years of baggage, Ford I determined to knock down the walls around her heart and convince her to give them a second chance. This is a well written second chance romance, which is heartfelt, and filled with emotions, family, secrets, surprises, misunderstandings, twists, suspense, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
The one who got away… seven years ago these teenage lovers found love, but her parents pulled them apart. He went in to be a rockstar and she had a broken heart.
A chance meeting in a San Antonio bar/restaurant brings them face to face and both are stunned. Sydney yells at him for leaving us and runs out. Ford isn’t willing to leave it be so he goes to her family home the next day and what he learns is life changing.
This story is full of emotions, some heartbreak and lots of love. The challenges Sydney has faced are numerous and significant, but the biggest challenge is learning to trust Ford and his love for her. These characters are well developed and the rest of the band mates from Nobody’s Fool appear throughout.
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this book! I liked Ford and Sydney and the journey they needed to go through to find each other again. Sydney had a lot of responsibilities, she didn't do things for herself, and she was guarded because of things that had happened in the past with her parents and with Ford. You see Ford in other books in the series, but in this one you really start seeing that he isn't just a playboy and there is more to him. Watching them grow and work through misunderstandings, while starting to become members of each other's families(band and familial). I loved the supports systems shown for both characters. Kirsten was a wonderful character addition, hopefully she will have a book at some point. This one was my favorite so far in the series, the next one looks good as well! I will continue on as I have enjoyed all the books in the series!
Sydney Aiken never intended to see Ford Malone again after her parents had ended their summer romance but seeing him again brings back stuff that she wasn’t ready to deal with. Ford didn’t know that she had been pregnant, and that Owen was his son. Sydney was taking care of her family after their parents had disappeared during a sailing trip but now, she had to deal with Ford and Nobody’s Fool being on tour.
There is so much to Fast Forward because there is a second chance romance, secret baby and so much more that you will want to read it now!
I’m hoping for a series about Kingston Knight and his band!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book and the series as a whole. This is the story of Ford, Sydney and the Aiken kids. Six years ago Ford and Sydney were inseparable, but then Ford left without a backward glance to pursue his dream in the music world. When Sydney shows up at a club and Ford spots her, he knows there is unfinished business between them. But Sydney has been shouldering the burden of her siblings since her parents disappeared at sea, and has no time for anything but work and them. I loved that there was enough to keep me engrossed, but did not have angst or drama added just for affect. My only gripe with this story was that I felt the parent disappearance was left hanging in mid air, with no closure. Otherwise, a great story.
Fast Forward is amazing. I loved this one so much. This has to be my favorite book in the Rock Hard series. This is a story of second chance, an unexpected surprise and discovering the big secret that kept two people apart. Ford is a sweetheart. He goes out of his way to help rebuild the reputation of a fallen starlet. Sydney is such a hard worker and does everything in her power to keep her siblings together. She may be hiding a big secret, but her heart is in the right place. You feel the love so strong between Ford and Sydney as they work hard to sort everything out. This one will give you a big heart squeeze as you see how Ford treats Sydney's siblings like his own. I could not get enough of this one. I loved Ford and Sydney so much. Go one click this one now.
Fast Forward is an emotional second chance story that I couldn’t put down! After meeting Ford, guitarist for Nobody’s Fool, in the previous books, I was so excited to finally get his story and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Ford and Sydney had that once in a lifetime special connection that was ripped away from them years earlier but now that fate has thrown them back in each other’s lives. There are secrets and surprises being revealed for both of them, but the one thing for sure is that they both still love each other, but will they risk putting their hearts on the line again? Read and enjoy as they fast forward their relationship and their family to finally find their happily ever after.
I have been waiting for Ford's story and it did not disappoint! Ford found his person when he was a teenager. Through the involvement of Sydney's parents, Ford and Sydney were torn apart. Unfortunately neither one of them were given all of the information about their breakup. Fast forward 7 years, Ford and Sydney meet again. Ford doesn't understand why Sydney is still so angry after all this time. Something Sydney says forces Ford to question everything. Sydney is raising her siblings after the death of her parents and she doesn't trust Ford at all. Can they unravel the secrets of their past to move forward together?
I loved watching Ford and Sydney grow together as adults. I also loved the kids in the story. It was also great to catch up with the rest of Nobody's Fool!
I loved this book. It was the best of the series. Family is so important and Ford has found this with his band. Sydney is really struggling. Her parents died and she has to become a mother to her three siblings at a very young age and has no social life. Ford was in her life in the past and they were so in love and he left her for no reason other than to make it with his band. A repeat of her parents. There has been no one else since Ford. Fast forward years later and he is suddenly back in her life. She has a secret he doesn't know. Will they make it as a couple the second time? Buy this book to find out and in fact, buy the entire series. It is fantastic.
Ford fell in love with Sydney when he was seventeen and playing guitar in her dad's band. Her dad wanted to do whatever to split them apart so he threatens Ford and forces him to walk away .
Sydney loved Ford and wanted a life with him but he just walked away without a glance back. Now, seven years later, he shows up out of the blue and her heart is falling to pieces. When the truth comes out for both of them can they find their way back to each other?
Sydney's parents are a piece of work.
Hopefully we get a where are they now novella when they all start having babies LOL and can't wait to see if Kirsten gets a story
