Betty Snickerdoodle Mysteries

Betty's Big Game, A Betty Snickerdoodle Short Mystery

Rate this book
Envy... curiosity... and a night to remember!

To her mega-bestselling author peers, Bea Sickles is an irresistible mystery.

Besides being a tart-tongued, 70-something ex-poker pro, she's the fabulously successful author of the Betty Snickerdoodle romance series. But some of her fellow wordsmiths find it hard to believe this wise-cracking tough cookie is the creative mind behind those sweet, sweet stories.

The fact that the media can't stop writing about Betty's unlikely beginnings is just another thorn in the scribes' sides.

One of these jealous literary luminaries decides he's going to find out what Bea's made of. He rounds up a group of world-famous authors for a game of Texas hold'em. They'll all have a chance to learn what the deal is with this little wine country card sharp — and maybe win a few bucks in the process!

Bea's happy to oblige and even offers to host their little poker night. But it turns out she's not the only player with a secret up her sleeve. Can Bea win the game, while winning also her fellow authors over — and maybe solve another mystery in the process?

This Betty Snickerdoodle Mysteries short story is a standalone that provides a peek at the cozy wine-country world of Bea Sickles and her sidekick, Angela Garcia. It can be read separately from the series or as an introduction to it.

Cute little short story. I believe this book would fit anywhere in the series, but I read it first because I felt was a short introduction to the author. There were a few grammatical errors, my pet peeve so I wavered between 3 and 4 stars. Bea aka as best selling author Betty Snickerdoodle is throwing a big poker party. It’s fun and has a few surprises along the way. Can’t say much more bc it is short, but a good complete story.
First read by this author for me.
I received this through BookFunnel from the author for signing up for her newsletter. Not available on Amazon

First book I've read by Pepper Frost and it was enjoyable and a light read. I look forward to reading more of her books. Betty has spunk and is funny at the same time with her thoughts.

The Cozy Mystery Book Club Bingo
Prompt : Senior Sleuther

This was a very short introduction to the characters and the story of Betty, and so far it seems a lot of fun. I think it takes place after the first book but it didn’t spoil much really, and made me want to start the series properly.

I hope it continues being this cute and fun!

Bea has been challenged by a group of authors to play poker - no one can beleive she's a good player. So she hosts the game in her ballroom and proves them all wrong - with a sense of humor and mystery she always shows!

A delightfully entertaining short story featuring the stars of 'The Return of Betty Snickerdoodle'

Betty is an interesting character with a wicked sense of humour. Both this and the previous book are well worth a read
