A small town, close proximity romance from New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Kristen Proby.

Remi Carter has survived her fifteen minutes of fame and is putting LA in her rearview mirror. As a former reality show contestant, she’s trading staged expeditions and faked wilderness tours for real adventures. Only one fluke storm in Glacier National Park has her stranded with a handsome man, and adventure takes on a whole new meaning.

Seth King is as rugged and sexy as he is annoyed to be trapped with Remi. Probably because she ghosted him at the local bar not three days ago. But she’s got her reasons for ditching him, and twenty-four hours in an abandoned Montana cabin with the wildlife biologist isn’t nearly enough time to explain.

As tempting as he is by firelight, she’s been burned too many times.

Except one day together and suddenly her travel van doesn’t hold as much appeal. The open road feels lonely. Remi’s about to learn that shelter is more than a safe place to weather a storm.

Shelter might just be the man himself. If he can give her a reason to stay.

Shelter is the 2nd book in the Heroes of the Big Sky series by Kristen Proby. This interconnected series takes us back to Cunningham Falls, Montana. Back on the ranch with the King family. I was so happy to see my favorite characters again!

Shelter features Seth King, the son of Zach King from one of my all time favorite books Falling For Jillian from the Love Under The Big Sky Series.

You don’t need to read any of the prior books, however I absolutely adored the series with Seth’s dad, aunt Cara and family who are all in this book. It’s also where you are first introduced to the beautiful mountain town of Cunningham Falls. The scenery of Montana so beautifully described is a second character in this book. When I first read Kristen’s Big Sky series I fell in love with Montana. This small town with all of these amazing characters is such a great escape from regular life.

Seth King has had a difficult upbringing but has found his true life’s purpose on the King ranch. He wants to work and live on the ranch forever. When his mom dropped him off at his dads all those years ago, she did him a favor.

Seth runs into Remi while she made a stop in the little mountain town along her journey across the country in her travel van. Remi’s profession is very interesting as well.

She finds that she’s growing to love the town and enjoy her time with Seth.

This was an enjoyable and fun, easy to read love story which I enjoyed. I loved seeing Cara, Josh, Jillian and Zach again.

Thank you for the ARC & I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another swoon-worthy romance from the epically charming Kristen Proby. Kristen Proby can always be counted on to deliver an effortlessly sweet and sexy romance- one that is both comforting and sincere. And this series is just that- a charming story about an unexpected family on a Montana ranch figuring out how to find a way to move forward together amid the unexpectedness of life.

The second book features the story of Seth King, son of Zach that Proby fans likely adore from the Love Under the Big Sky series- but every book can be read as a standalone. And if you are a Probiac you’ll enjoy catching up with your favorite characters in Cunningham Falls.

Seth’s path crosses with Remi- former reality show star now on the hunt for her own adventure. An unexpected storm pushes them together after she ghosted him a few nights prior, and a spark sizzles when they are stranded together in a cabin. Soon Remi is falling in love with more than just the amazing small town. Seth is deliciously sexy, and Remi has such a fascinating life experience. Both of them have past pains and baggage to unpack- but they soon find what they need in each other, the shelter and home to live the adventure of love. It’s sweet and swoony- just the feel good fix you need.

3.5 stars for this small town romance.
After reading about Seth's dad and Uncle, I knew that I had to have his story. Seth was dropped off to live with his grandparents and uncle as a child because his mother didn't want him anymore. He hindered her lifestyle and she was an addict. Seth's dad was away in the military and he had been told so many lies about his father he wasn't sure what to believe.
Seth's relationship now with his father is great, and his step mother is like a real mom. He loves his small town and the ranch he lives and works on and isn't really interested in leaving. One day, Remi comes into his world and throws it off it's axis. He wants things he never has, but she is just passing through.
Remi has wanderlust and lives in her camper. She wants to experience all the things because everyone in her life has told her she couldn't. When she goes hiking and gets trapped in a snowstorm, Seth is there to save the day. She knows Seth is special, but she doesn't want to break his heart when she leaves.
This book was heartwarming. Two souls that found each other when they needed to. The only thing I wish wasn't glossed over was Seth's VERY traumatic past. It felt like an afterthought and the things that happened to him were explained away just by being out of the situation. It did make the book lighter and didn't feel as heavy, but I would have been ok with the book being heavy with the subject matter that was touched on. I was so happy to get Seth's story.

I seriously couldn't put this book down. I finished it in just one sitting. Seth has been dealt a shitty hand when it comes to his early childhood, up until he moved to the ranch to be with his dad. Because of that, he's sworn off relationships. Remi is finally living her own life, she's travelling and living the van life. When they first met, they have an instant attraction but she left him. Uknown to her, he would be saving her from a snowstorm.

They both have emotional scars even though they're different kinds. But the effect is still the same and still there. I truly loved Remi and more for everything he had to endure. But he still was able to love even after what happened. I absolutely loved his family and I think they're amazing side characters. I'm looking forward to the next books in the series.

Edit: I just found out this is the last book of the series, which I'm really sad about but I'm definitely going to read the previous generations' books. And I'm looking forward to more of Kristen's books!

Bring on the emotion, folks! Laughter, some tears, some worry, and the fear of never really belonging are all present here. Remi and Seth were both confident on their own, magic together, and both oh so worried about life at the same time. She felt like she was always on the outside looking in, while he felt that he would never have anything more than his home and already-here family in his life. So imagine their surprise when everything just feels so RIGHT when they’re together.

I loved how we got the painful truths that both Seth and Remi carried with them, and I couldn’t even be mad at how her relationship with the one person who should have cared ended up. After all, that made this feel all the more real because we can’t always have things work out. Sometimes, they’re just what they are and you have to let them go in favor of becoming part of a family by choice. And these two also managed to communicate when things fell apart for a minute or two, which made me even happier.

Wow, oh wow... I can't believe that Seth King, the little boy who stole my heart on the first Big Sky novel, is not only all grown up but hot damn... Drool worthy in every way! Remi is THE perfect match for his grounded and broken soul, they proved two halves can indeed make a wholesome heart!

This small town romance checks all my romance lover's boxes, with the King family, my beloved OG Under The Big Sky's couples, taking center stage with this second generation tale. Seth is now, for me, the epitome of small town romance hero and Remi, with her adventurous nature, the perfect counterpart for this quiet and stability loving soul. This story is as heart warming as can be! Bring on more Big Sky Heroes!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Absolutely blow away!!

I got excited when I heard Kristen Proby was going to write a next gen with Seth King all grown up. Like happy dance giddy…. I was not disappointed. Absolutely amazing. You see the fierce protectiveness that the King men are known for, along with the swoony, melt your heart moments.

“I want to take my time with you, savor every second of this time because I’m only doing this once. With you. There’s no need to rush it.”

The details in this book were exceptional. I felt as if I was in Glacier with Remi and Seth. Seriously, so much detail you felt right there.

Loved seeing all of the King kids in high school, including Lauren and Ty’s daughter was such a trip. Loved it!!

I can keep going on and on. This is absolutely a reread! Small town at its finest!

4 Finding Shelter Personally Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
Kristen Proby is a master in weaving a story that will capture from the first page. She did a prologue chapter for this book that gave me all The Feels to be invested from the get-go.
I haven't read all of Ms. Probys' series that were referenced yet I didn't feel left out at all. If anything, I felt like I would make time to visit them later after reading this book.

Seth King has grown into the type of man, any parent would want. He overcame a very ugly beginning and now was a man who knew who he was, what he wanted, and was basically content with this life.

Remi Carter is living her great escape. After years of having all eyes on her, she is happy to just be, do what she wishes, when she wishes, and decide where the wind will take her when she wants. Right now, what she wants is to hike and scale the Glacier in the National Park in Montana.

She is living her best life in a van and arrived in Montana in late September. Remi happens to meet Seth at the local bar, some flirting and interest are exchanged as well as some serious advice for Remi. Seth learned Remi wanted to hike to the Glacier and explained Montana had a snowstorm coming. Remi laughed and said, again...It's September. Seth, a Park Ranger/Outdoors Expert, explained Montana is not like any other place when it comes to weather.

Remi was well rested after a day napping and being lazy, had all of the right equipment for her hike, and took off to see the sight she had wanted to scale forever. Things were going well until the little snow flurries started to come down.

The little flurries became the storm she was warned about and Remi needed to get to someplace for shelter. As she tried to get to a locked Resort, Seth ends up coming and rescuing her. Seth had been concerned when he saw her van at the foot of the hike and radioed to let the crew know he was going in to get Remi.

These two end up at the locked location, sparks continue to fly, and we get a couple starting to see that there may be more than just interest.

Remi and Seth both have secret histories and it is with the needing each other, they find the safe shelter they deserve.

When Seth was dropped off at the ranch when he was young, it was the best thing that ever happened to him. Not only did it get him away from his toxic mother and all the disgusting people she associated with, but it gave Seth a real family with his dad, stepmom and aunts. Now he's an adult, working at that ranch when he comes across the woman who ghosted him awhile ago. Why does he have to get stranded at the cabin with her? It could have been anyone but her. But perhaps sheltering together will give these two damaged but not broken souls the connection they've been searching for their whole lives, in each other.

There's something so I don't know, authentic, about Kristen's characters. They always read like real people with real conflicts, baggage, and feelings. Seth and Remi are so scarred by their pasts, but so intensely lovable that I wanted to give them both huge hugs. Their chemistry is sizzling, their emotions are palpable, and I fell in love with them just as they were falling for each other.

I missed the King family.

4,5 stars

I met and have learned to love Seth since Loving Cara, way back. So seeing his own love story was like having watched him grow from teenage boy into a beautiful man.
Just like his father and uncle, he's loyal, honest and hard worker. He loves his family and he protects and cares for the one he loves. He's devoted to the ones around him and a solid presence on his family, their legacy and his community.

Remi is driven and adventurous, but still looking for a place to call home. Actually, at first she doesn't even realize that she needs a safe place. She just keeps driving and traveling around, looking for her next adventurous experience, never rooting herself in one place.
That is until she finds shelter with Seth and in his arms.

They were really cute together. It was such a sweet book, with almost to no drama, full of family time and love.
I'm so happy and pround of Seth as if I actually knew him. And in a sense, I do.

Adorable.

Seth King is ALL Grown Up!
Kristen Proby’s “Shelter” is Book 2 of the Heroes of Big Sky series, and it brings all the lip-biting steam and sexiness, the wonderful characters, and the heart-tuggingly sweet heroes that we’ve come to expect from Proby’s Big Sky world of novels. Honestly, one of my favorite things about this one is that fans of the Big Sky novels met Seth King way back when he was a preteen in the first novel of the original series! All grown up and incredibly hot now, Seth falls for beautiful newcomer Remi, and the attraction is immediate and almost tangible. I absolutely adore the entire King family, and it is so much fun to catch up with beloved characters from both generations of the clan. Let’s pretend that this is WAAAY more stars than we can actually award. Great way to revisit and wrap up, Kristen Proby!

I always love a good story by this author and this one definitely did not disappoint. I really like reading small town romance books; don't know what it is about them but I just like the feel about them. Loved the chemistry between Seth and Remi but also their own story that fitted right in. But definitely felt all of the emotions both went through. Very excited for the rest in this series!

Remi has had enough of her LA life which she leaves behind for a new adventure and travels around with her big van. Now being on her way at Glacier National Park, she's stranded in the storm but luckily a handsome ranger rescues her. Even though they've met briefly the day before, there's just something between them that ignites a spark. Seth has been through a lot since he was a kid but has now settled into the ranch life and is living the single life. When he meets Remi, sparks fly but he knows she's just in town for only a little while but the more they get to know each other and spend time together, maybe there's something more between them. Even though they are having a good time together, Remi feels more at home than she's ever felt before. Will she stay? And will they be together in the end?...

I have read many books by Kristen Proby and my favorite characters of them all are Seth King and Savannah Boudreaux (from Easy Nights). They both have been abused and through the love of their family could overcome their pain. Seth was a sweet boy with so much love inside and Jillian and Cara were his mother figure in the Big Skye series. Now, he is an adult working as a park ranger and living a single life without wanting any attachments. Remi has survived her fifteen minutes of fame and is putting LA in her rearview mirror living in her van and enjoying being lonely. Seth and Remi somehow are perfect for each other but both have trust and issues that must be faced in order to be together. He is so sweet and needs loving as much as he needs to love. She is so lonely and only wants her place in the world. It is a beautiful book with so much love and I cried so much in some parts. I just loved it!

Kristen Proby does what she does best, makes the reader fall in love with amazing characters and a hard won love story.

What you get in Shelter are two characters who have been molded by the pain of their past, but the strength of their connection and bond withstands those past hurts. Here’s what I loved:

The heroine has the most exciting and expected “career” I think I’ve ever read about. Kudos for that.
The extended family is everything! I love small town romances where the family plays a huge part in the storyline. And these guys made me want to be an honorary family member.
The chemistry is undeniable. Their instant attraction never waned.
Communication was key!

Overall, a really great read. I read it in one sitting!

What a great story right here! The second book in the Heroes of Big Sky, and Kristen doesn't disappoint You will swoon and fall in love with Seth & Remi on the spot! 5 big sky stars for this one!
Remi has had her fame, and now she's traveling to see the sights, when she heads to Montana. She wants to stand on a glacier, and she'll do it! When she sets out on a hike, the further she gets into it, the worse the weather gets. When she's rescued by Seth, the guy she met in the bar the night before and ditched. Wow, what are the chances!
Seth has his own demons to overcome, but he's come so far from the eleven year old boy who was dumped on his grandparents doorstep because his mother said he was too much trouble. With the love of the King family to help him through it, he's come a long way, but he has some things to still work on. But when he meets Remi, he gets a feeling he's never experienced before, and he wants to explore it with her.
Sit back, relax and enjoy this story! I stayed up all night reading because I didn't want to put it down, I wanted to see what happens with them! Grab this book asap!

This book was everything fr so many reasons.
I have loved Seth King sense his looney tune of a mother just dropped off at Nancy and Cliff's house all those years ago. Now it's 15 years later and there is so much more to love about him. I was also so happy that he finally told his story.. It was not easy, but he tld it and he is still loved by everyone.
Enter Remi Carter. She is so easy to like and love. There really is something special about her. and I am so happy she's in Cunningham falls too stay

This was definitely the most emotional book I have read by Kristen Proby. I teared up a few times while reading this amazing story. Seth is a park ranger and helps out on his family’s ranch. Despite a horrible beginning of his childhood, Seth is proud of who he has become and loves the family that raised him. Remi was a reality tv star for awhile now she travels all over in her van. She doesn’t have a close relationship with her family and considers herself a loaner. When Seth and Remi meet they have a instant connection and crazy chemistry, which I think freaked them both out. I loved the way they each told their stories in their own way at their own speed. Both were uncertain of what they wanted the future to look like because of the past. I love How this author always brings past characters in and you feel like you went home. This was a great story to tell and she did it Justice. As always, I’m already looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

This isn’t my first Kristen Proby book and what I’ve noticed is, they don’t disappoint.

I am a sucker for a small town romance and I didn’t quite know what to expect when this story first started. I thought Seth would be closed-off, due to his troubled past. But I was incredibly happy to see that Seth had such a soft side and it was really wonderful to see his character welcome Remi the way he did.

Remi was the one that let her upbringing form a thick wall in welcoming others into her heart. But she too allowed those walls to fall and welcomed so much more than I expected.

Remi and Seth simply fit together. This story is about joining two lives together. It isn’t messy. It isn’t dramatic. And it definitely isn’t stressful. This story is one that leaves you wanting more because you simply want to continue to live in for many more chapters.

Wonderfully told story with incredibly endearing characters and side characters.

Seth and Remi are sweet. The story is heartwarming. Two people finding their home with each other. I cried and I smiled and I swooned. While the relationship develops organically, I felt their fear, especially Remi's but I love how they communicate and Seth doesn't second guess. I devoured this because once I started I couldn't stop.

4.25 stars-SHELTER is the second instalment in Kristen Proby’s contemporary, adult HEROES OF BIG SKY erotic, romance series, a cross over/ spin off from the author’s LOVE UNDER THE BIG SKY series. This is twenty-seven year old, rancher/ Park Ranger Seth King, and reality television star Remi Carter’s story line. SHELTER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Seth King is the son of Zach King (Falling for Jillian) and was first introduced, as a teen, in book one LOVING CARA of the original series.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the storyline premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Remi and Seth) using present day and memories from the past, SHELTER follows the building romance and relationship between twenty-seven year old, rancher Seth King, and reality television star Remi Carter. Remi Carter is a former reality television, ultimate athlete who is currently touring the country by herself when she stops in Cunningham Falls, Montana, with the desire to visit Glacier National Park but a freak September snow storm finds Remi cabin bound with Park Ranger Seth King, in the wake of Seth’s warning not to walk the park alone. Upon there return, Seth offers Remi a place to stay, in an effort to get to know our storyline heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Seth and Remi, and the potential fall-out as Seth has no plans for a happily ever after, and Remi is offered another shot at the ultimate crown.

Seth King’s past has affected his view of marriage and kids, and in this he has no plans for a family but meeting Remi Carter gives Seth pause for thought, thoughts of what if, or why. Remi Carter’s earlier years were no conducive to a happy childhood but Remi wasn’t going to let her past affect her relationships for the future.

The relationship between Remi and Seth is one of immediate attraction; a small town, close proximity relationship in which appearances and Seth’s overwhelmingly large family threaten Remi’s hold on her sanity. Time spent together means revealing demons from the past, demons Seth had struggled to acknowledge with family or friends. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Several characters cross-over from the author’s LOVE UNDER THE BIG SKY series including Zack and Jillian, Josh and Cara, grandma Nancy King, as well as several nieces, nephews, siblings and cousins, and Remi’s new boss and deli owner Annie.

SHELTER is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of betrayal and survival, acceptance and moving forward. The fast paced, character driven premise is captivating and encouraging; the characters are feisty, and energetic; the romance is spirited, and provocative.

Seth King has called his family’s Montana ranch home since he was a boy, growing to love the land and the outdoors as if he had been there all his life. Working for the Park Rangers gives him something to do off the ranch, but also leaves enough time to be near when his family needs help. When he meets a traveler passing through who mentions hiking a challenging trail with weather approaching, Seth decides to make sure she has a safe place to wait out the storm.

Remi Carter is taking a break from her celebrity spotlight. Traveling in a camper van to explore new locations is a new kind of adventure that has her making plans and tackling bucket list items. She thinks nothing of the storm warning as she plans a hike she feels like she has to do, even though she has heard from locals that the weather can come in quickly.

Stuck in a remote cabin overnight gives the perfect opportunity to have a fling on this leg of Remi’s journey. But when they are able to make their way back down the trail after the storm has passed, Remi finds the allure of her travel plans and van have lost a bit of their luster. She is falling in love with this town and Seth.

This was exactly what I hoped for in a Big Sky book. It was a quick, smooth read with so much heart and heat. They might start with no promises of a future, but Remi finds a routine in Montana that she had never had in California, friends and family that make her one of their own without thought. I love the warmth and ease of the stories and know that every time I return to this world I’m in for a great story. This was a low-angst and completely entertaining story. I enjoyed seeing the rest of the King family and returning to Cunningham Falls overall.

I really enjoyed this novel, it is exactly what I have come to expect from Kristen Proby and it delivered on everything I wanted. This novel is a sweet, insta-love story between two people who have some tragic issues in their pasts around their biological mothers. It is a story about learning what love and family truly is, and it is about finding someone who understands you on a level that you never expected. Proby's writing is easily engaging, well paced, full of heart and sweetly swoon-worthy.

Seth, the hero, is all grown up, you would have originally encountered him in other Proby novels if you have read her backlist (Loving Cara and Falling for Jillian). Seth was abandoned by his abusive mother in his pre-teens and taken in by his father's family where he has learned how to rebuild himself and except love and family into his heart. Seth knows that he is home and plans to live and work the ranch his family owns while also working as a park ranger in his Montana town. When he meets Remi, a Survivor star (TV show featuring outdoor/thrill adventure) who has retired and decided to road trip across the country, he finds a soul mate who sees him for his true self and he sees the true her.

This is a sweet story, with low angst about two people finding their true home in another person. This is a story of two people learning to trust and confide in other. It is a story about giving your heart to someone else and learning to listen and compromise and grow together. I loved that Seth and Remi seemed to really understand each other every step of the way in their relationship. I loved that they would talk things out even if their heads tried to jump to certain conclusions. I loved that they were able to easily find a way to work together. Their physical relationship is delightfully steamy and sexy, I do feel like it was well balanced through out and it is what I have come to expect in Proby's newer novels. (In some of her earlier works the sexy times were much more prominent throughout the novel). I love that Seth and Remi have a relationship that is consensual and that I also felt like they were on the same page, they are definitely a wonderful compliment to each other. I also love that Proby's emphasis and importance of family and friends really helps to hold this love story together, they are supported by strong familial relationships and new-found friends and it is wonderfully heartwarming.

I would definitely recommend this if you love a sweet, low angst romance that will put a smile on your face. I loved this story and always look forward to the next Kristen Proby novel! 4.5 out of 5 Stars!

I have really like Kristen Proby books in the past, but I couldn't help but feel like 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥 was a bit of a "deadline novel". It doesn't feel like the author poured her heart and soul into this. It felt like she churned out a pretty good book in order to publish on a deadline.

That said, 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥 is a pretty good book. It starts of great with a meet-cute filled with chemistry and a seriously steamy forced proximity situation. READ: "Oh no! We're trapped in a blizzard with only hot sex to keep us warm!" I was HERE FOR IT.

This book has a badass female lead, a tortured hero, good side friendships, and very steamy scenes. This is the second in a series and I had not read the first book. There were times when I was a bit lost so if you want to read this book I suggest you start the series and read in order.

The conflict in 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗘𝗥 is primarily overcoming your own hesitations to enter a relationship. My least favorite conflict, for sure. If you like that conflict then you might really enjoy this book!

Overall, this book felt like a decent read with some great characters, but turned out to not really impact me like I was hoping it would.

RATING:⭐️⭐️⭐️
STEAM LEVEL: Rated R
TRIGGERS: childhood sexual assault, pregnancy scare, parent abandonment, childhood hunger
FEELS-O-METER: 4/5 - Tackled some seriously tough topics.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Shelter by Kristen Proby made my heart HAPPY!

Proby has the rare gift of crafting worlds that pulls the reader in. ....

Cunningham Falls, MT is one of those real feel worlds ... a world where you want to see the characters grow up and where you want to see their lives unfold....

In this case, readers are in for a TREAT as the story really takes the series full circle....  want to know what I mean ... well meet Seth the angry tween in Loving Cara! is the HERO in Shelter.

It is so clear from the moment Seth meets Remi that he feels something different for her!

Remi and Seth opening up to each other, Remi and Seith finding shared experience.... Remi and Seth opening themselves to each  other... all of this keep the reader glued to the story as yes the romance novel gets to the required HEA!

I so want to add that Seth's SUPPORT of Remi and her passion was AWESOME... I am not going to spoil how this unfolds but I will say HOORAY for Seth!

No worries... if you have NOT read any books in this series..... Seth's backstory is explained so you can just SWOON over this man who overcomes his past to embrace the love in front of him!

Also, Seth's Dad's story... his find love with Seth's "Mom" Jillian can be savored in Falling for Jillian, a book I LOVED!

Thank you Kristen Proby for the AMAZING read and cast of characters that will forever hold a place in my HEART!

Be still by my beating heart, no need to reach for the remote control and the Hallmark Channel as Kristen Proby has delivered once again beautiful emotional perfection. Seth deserved his story, and what a story it is!

If you read Love Under the Big Sky, you will remember Seth as the scared young boy who was dumped by his mom at the ranch owned by his dad's parents, while his dad was in the Army. Now we get to meet him as a man, whose life is the ranch that was his salvation, then he meets Remi, the woman who turns up in Cunningham falls in her van and shows Seth what he was missing even if he didn't know it. Remi has had enough of her life in California, her parents have never had time for her and she has never felt the love of a good family, Cunningham Falls was only supposed to be a stopover, but she wasn't prepared for the King family and more importantly Seth and the feelings he drew out of her that she had so deeply hidden.

Both of these wonderful people were just meant to be, and Kirsten Proby produced one heck of a great swoon-worthy captivating must-read for this couple, and it was great to catch up with the rest of Kings, so looking forward to more of this great series.

Shelter (Heroes of Big Sky #2) by Kristen Proby
5 stars
M/F Romance
Triggers: Child abuse
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Remi has lived in the lime light and no longer wants that fame. She likes living in her van, being able to travel where the wind takes her. She has had a less than stellar home life and now that she's an adult, she can help heal herself by traveling and enjoying the outdoors. An adrenaline and outdoorsy junky, she can't get enough of the climbs, rafting trips, etc. that she enjoys. When she finds herself hiking at the wrong time and gets trapped in a snow storm, she wonders if she's gone too far this time.

Seth loves his hometown. He grew up with nothing and was taken in by family who gave him everything. He knows the mountains like the back of his hand and also knows that the weather up there can be sudden and fierce. When he sees Remi, she instantly piques his interest. She's beautiful and not at all what he expects. He also doesn't really know of her previous fame and that suits Remi fine.

These two have fantastic chemistry and their love of the outdoors is really what pulls their unlikely friendship together. Both have to overcome their own heartache and heartbreak, but both make each other stronger, better and their relationship is one that everyone can aspire to.

Love is hard for them both. It was fun to see them learn and develop love in their own way. Seeing people from the previous book too was a fun treat. While you don't have to read book 1, it is recommended since characters come back.

I really enjoyed this romance and can't wait to see what happens next!

5 Star Review of Shelter (Heroes of Big Sky #2) by Kristen Proby
There is something about Kristen Proby’s writing that draws you in and holds you captive. Shelter is the second book in the Heroes of Big Sky and was a great addition.
I love stories set in small towns, they are more intimate. I loved the journey they travelled as friendship blossomed into love. I read this book in almost one go, frustrated when real life got in my way.
This is Remi Carter and Seth King’s story and was an entertaining and engaging story. Her writing is descriptive and I could easily envisage Glacier National Park, Montana.
Seth is extremely unhappy being stranded with Remi and yet there is something about her that calls to him. However Remi has been burnt in the past and the last things she is looking for is a relationship.
However sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants and the chemistry between them ignites. What happens when the blizzard end, will Remi move on and leave Seth behind?
