Diverse bunch of tiny fictions, some of which get right under your skin, some are like taking a deep breath of fresh air on a sunny day, some the opposite, rainy and tight (and good), and some just passed me by.

I'm a huge fan of these micro stories. I loved the Best Microfiction 2020, and this follow-up edition didn't disappoint. I just started Best Microfiction 2019, which I had somehow missed. I can only read a few stories at a time because I like to savor them and reflect. A very engaging collection!

Really, really enjoyed this collection. It's full of extremely short but powerful stories, and both the plethora of themes and the diversity of voices impressed me. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend picking this book up, and I think it should be read in a specific way to get the most of it. While I read the whole thing through in a short time for this article, I believe this is one to keep near you and when you have only a minute or so to kill, pick it up and read a piece whose title appeals to you. This way, you’ll have a lot of time to really digest the images and messages of the piece. Most of the authors put a lot of meaning into these very short works, and they deserve a lot of unpacking.
