Playboy Tad Dawson dedicates his Saturday nights to looking for a strong man with the firm hand he craves at a certain sort of club in Austin. So when he heads out to his favorite neighborhood gay bar for a more casual Friday night, he’s looking to drink, dance with his friends, and maybe have a little sexy fun on the side. Tad certainly doesn’t expect to run into a man like Strait McMasters, a stunning, deep-voiced, stoic cowboy who seems to be everything Tad wants in one studly package.
Billionaire Strait intends to have a drink in honor of a friend who passed away when he stops in at the bar, but he’s not one to question his gut, and his instinct says that Tad, the young man with the unruly blond hair, is worth a second look. When their one-night stand turns into a several-day binge, Strait knows he’s found something special, and he hopes to keep it.
Tad is sure Strait can give him a stern look and a firm hand if only Tad can find the right way to tell him what he needs. Strait, meanwhile, isn’t sure Tad is ready for what it means to be part of his life, which includes a private island and full-time security. Will they find a way to truly understand each other, or is this temptation short term?
JODI spent too many years in New York and San Francisco stage managing classical plays, edgy fringe work, and the occasional musical. She, therefore, is overdramatic, takes herself way too seriously, and has been known to randomly break out in song. Her men are imperfect but genuine, stubborn but likable, often kinky, and frequently their own worst enemies. They are characters you can’t help but fall in love with while they stumble along the path to their happily ever after.
For those looking to get on her good side, Jodi’s addictions include nonfat lattes, Malbec and tequila however you pour it. She’s also obsessed with Shakespeare and Broadway musicals. She can be found wearing sock monkey gloves while typing when it’s cold, and on the beach enjoying the sun and the ocean when it’s hot. When she’s not writing and/or vacuuming sand out of her laptop, Jodi mentors queer youth and will drop everything for live music. Jodi lives near New York City with her beautiful wife, and together they are mothers of dragons (cleverly disguised as children) and slaves to an enormous polydactyl cat.
More cowboys by my favorite cowgirls...Jodi and BA.
Tad's out with his friends in their favorite Friday night bar. He just wanted to dance, talk with the guys and have a drink...but then he spots the stranger at the bar and decides to take a chance and see if he'd be interested in just a one-night meet-up. Tad had no idea how fast that stranger was going to turn his world inside out and upside down.
Strait had attended the funeral of one of his best friends and decided to stop in for a drink to toast his friend, Dave's memory, before heading back home. it was supposed to be one quick drink and then home...but Strait is pleasantly surprised at the “sweet little thing”, Tad, that came to speak to him. Maybe he didn't have to go home just yet after all. He didn't pick up guys often but maybe he will make an exception this once and see what this pretty man had to offer.
As most of you know, I'm a big fan of these two authors BA and Jodi. It doesn't matter if they are writing alone or together, the men and books are hot and exceptional. They know how to add the right amount of heat to the sweetness. Strait finds that Tad is just what needed to complete his life. Tad doesn't need or want gifts lavished on him or money to burn. He just wants love and a strong hand. He’s had the money life with his family but needs the man who truly gets and wants him. Tad saw that Strait had what he needed and just went for it.
Temptation Ranch is another fun, steamy and fast read with puppies, a tropical island, and lots and lots of romance, along with wonderful, loveable characters. It doesn't get much better than this.
What's not to like about a big hunky cowboy and a blonde guy who wants to be dominated? Austin, TX and Bastrop, TX, and the blue Caribbean. Loved the intellectual banter, flirty fun, and certainly the hot sexy scenes with these two. Tad is a scorching hot guy, and each man is on the same track. Strait liked to play, so off they went. Strait, 30, seems older, a wealthy Ranch owner/inventor, strong, sexy, dark bearded cowboy, just came from a funeral, and finds a cutie who wants what he can deliver, rough and intense dominant sexy times. He has Great Pyrenees dogs, one about to have a litter. Their one night turns into much more. Tad is in his 20s, is blonde and blue-eyed, who has a website-building business and his kinks. He's fun, happy and easy going, and was on the dive team in college. Ranch time is fun, grilling, swimming and sizzling sexiness.
The private custom home in the gorgeous Caribbean has a private beach and boat. A heavenly retreat, relaxing, fun, private, and they can get to know each other better, with more deep sexy time, too.
The personal space is Strait's refuge and thinking place, where his inventions come to life. Tad is drawn to the solitude also, because he loves being spoiled, wanted, and satisfied.
He's the first man Strait has brought to see his people, and then family. Tad misunderstands an issue, but Strait hadn't explained something...
Tad is perfect for Strait, and vice versa. A terrific story of love found and an HEA. ENJOY !
I love both these authors and this should have been a 5 star read for me. It’s everything I love. Super butch and rich cowboy and sweet lovable sub boy. However, it was just ok. I really liked both the main characters, but I just didn’t feel invested in their relationship. I liked the book, so. I gave it three stars. I have to admit I’d love to meet a Strait if I were single.
I honestly don't know how to start this review because I really don't understand what I just read.
Let me start by saying that the Deviations series by Jodi and Chris Owen is probably my most favorite BDSM series ever. I loved it so very much. Unfortunately, I haven't enjoyed any of the books written with BA Tortuga.
I never did leave my review for The Cowboy and the Dom series because it was just so bad. It was a series clearly written by 2 different authors and there was no cohesion.
I went into this book with hope, but it came up short for me in a few ways.
There are a couple of things I did enjoy about the book. I loved Andy and Mitch and would love to know more of their story. I enjoyed the initial interaction at the bar and the first night they spent together, but nothing really past those first few chapters.
This is another book that reads like a draft. There's no cohesion, plot, or character development. We learn basically nothing about Tad except that he's from Jersey and apparently he comes from money, or maybe he doesn't. There's nothing about his family other than a few bits and pieces. We know literally nothing about the character and I'm supposed to relate to him? How? He's a sub? Really? What kind of sub? What does he enjoy? How does he like to submit?
As for Strait, could this be any more stereotypical? Seriously,I know BA is in Texas, but I find a lot of their characters to be just too over the top. The way Strait speaks and the dialogue between the two characters is cringeworthy.
I wish I had more positive things to say, but there's just no story here. I would say this fits more in the erotica category, but the s*x scenes are just meh.
I did receive an ARC, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a light hearted insta-love story. Two people have an instant attraction yet they still need to learn a lot about each other. Tad has needs and Strait has his moments of inventive focus. So as they spend time together each have and figure things out they get closer together.
I am addicted to these cowboy stories by Jodi Payne & BA Tortuga. I simply can’t get enough of them.
Temptation Ranch was so good! It’s pretty much instant love and I was here for that! Tad is so sweet and knows what he likes. He needs a Dom with a firm hand and he’s not willing to settle for something else. He knows Strait isn’t a Dom yet, but he feels it in his heart that Strait could be. Strait wants to give Tad exactly what he needs, and once he knows Tad needs a Dom, Strait knows he can be that. Being a Dom for Tad comes so natural to him.
This story was very sweet, with pretty much no angst. I loved the light feel off this story and couldn’t put it down. I had to read about their HEA. I do with we had an epilogue because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Tad & Strait. I will definitely be reading the very next cowboy book by Jodi Payne & BA Tortuga.
I did receive a free ARC of this book but that did not influence my review.
To see more reviews check out MI Book Reviews. I got an ARC of this book.
I have loved the other books I have read by this duo, so I didn’t even fully read the description of this book. That is on me. This book is not a gay cowboy romance like the title would make anyone believe. Based on RANCH and the MC being into kink, I was excited for a kinky gay cowboy romance. I did not get that.
This is the southern version of Fifty Shades of Grey. What I mean by that this has no real plot, no good kink, and is pretty much “rich men are hot”. The characters are not fleshed out enough that I can remember one of the MC’s names. I can remember Strait, but that is because it is a terrible name choice. His full name reads like a bad erotica fanfiction making fun of someone. I literally stopped reading and had to take a break when he introduced himself. I was done. I almost gave up at that point because of how terrible the name was.
But, I gave it a shot because these authors are usually wonderful together. I am still waiting for a storyline to appear and to be able to tell the characters apart (or a healthy representation of kink). So let’s just dive into the big reasons that I didn’t enjoy this book:
1. This is not a gay cowboy romance. It is gay, but the cowboy is a oil tycoon who never actually does cowboy things on page. Half the book is spent on a beach. The ranch (also terribly named, seriously the S-bar-M ranch? I know it is supposedly a reference to Strait’s name, but also the S&M joke just fell flat since the book couldn’t deliver on kink) is just a backdrop. It is not a functioning ranch and doesn’t really factor into into the book at all. This is also not a romance, it is an erotica that just wasn’t erotic. 2. The kink is minimal and not satisfying. There are a few spanking scenes and a orgasm denial scene. Those could have been erotic and exciting, but that would have required more of a set-up of healthy kink. The fact that the MC (still don’t know his name) immediately submitted and called Strait “sir” doesn’t sit right with me. Submission is earned. The fact that Strait was not in fact a Dom and had to be pushed into it also did not sit well with me. There are no communication and consent. Strait was concerned and experienced emotional issues over the spanking that were never addressed. Doms and tops need to consent as well, but that isn’t addressed here. There was no heat, since there was no consent. There was also no condom use for oral sex with a stranger and the condom use for anal sex was very minimal. 3. The relationship was forced along as fast, but for no real gain. Within a few minutes of meeting there is sex. Then within a week, the MC is helping raise puppies. The idea was they would go to the private beach when the puppies had their eyes open (10-14 days usually, though some do take a little bit longer). Since the puppies were not mentioned again developmentally, I am going to assume it was the typical time span (eyes open also doesn’t mean not being bottle fed, so they up and left now that the puppies could start seeing, but still needed full time care which is wild to me). Added up that is 3-ish weeks so far. They make it to the beach and Strait hides away for three days. So we are at about a month and a proposal happens. No. There is no romance, just sex that is boring and tame. 4. The emotional conflict is not that Strait has not consented to kink and is being manipulated by the MC, but that the MC misses Strait so much after three days of working that there is a relationship struggle over it. That is not healthy. That is not ok. The MC is toxic. I could not ship them. I stopped reading at the proposal, because I did not care and I couldn’t see the book being redeemed in the last bit of it. This is not the gay cowboy romance I signed up for and was expected from these two authors. Instead I am not entirely sure what I read. This is not the standard I have for these authors and I am not impressed. I am glad this is not the first book I read or I would not continue with these authors. Though I am much more hesitant to continue still.
I am a big fan of Jodi Payne and BA Tortuga's so I jump on any book they write, especially if it's a western! Tad is a fun loving sub who seems to party hard with his friends with benefits, Cooper and Rory, but is looking for that special Dom. Strait, is rich beyond words, has a ranch, an island complete with a boat, full staff in multiple locations and longs for a boy to spoil and take care of. From the first glance at a bar where Strait is drinking a drink and reminiscing about a friend whose funeral he's just gone to, Tad spies a hunky cowboy that is new to the bar and heads on over to chat. From that moment on, they spend just about every moment together, sex off the charts, spoiling his boy and the boy spoiling his man. The only problem is that Tad needs a firm hand... spankings to be exact to be happy. Strait has never done that before, but wants to be the kind of Dom that Tad needs and finds that he really enjoys that power dynamic in their relationship. Barely anything is mentioned about Tad's estrangement with his family and his own finances or what he actually does for a living, only hinting that he is somewhat wealthy. I do wish that the authors had broadened that part of the storyline and answered that unasked question.. What does Tad do for a living? He says he doesn't worry about money, but what normal person doesn't worry about income at times?
The sex is off the charts with how hot these two are together, and there is a lot of it. This is a very quick, insta love story with lots of fluff, very low angst, quick read. I did enjoy it, but wish there was a little more meat to the story. I will continue to grab the next book these two talented authors co-write together or do by themselves. I hope you do too. Enjoy.

I received an ARC copy of this book, for an honest review.
I really love these authors cowboy stories. I’m a Texas loving girl, who loves her cowboys. Each book is a little different, so it never feels old.
Tad is a younger sub, a native New Jersey boy, who came to Austin for school, and stayed for the music and cowboys. He and his family don’t get along, so he’s made some close friends he considers family. He has been living the good life of meeting guys in bars and having some fun. He also spends some time at a BDSM club, picking up Dom’s who never want anything more than a scene together. He’s wishing to meet his perfect Dom, someone who will keep him.
Straight (named after the King) is in a bar, drinking after the funeral of a good friend, and sees Tad. Their first meet is cute, especially with Straight’s name, and there was an instant connection between these two. Straight is older, and hasn’t really explored much into BDSM, but he knows he likes being in charge in the bedroom. He’s a Dom, even if he doesn’t know it yet.
The first night these two spend together is steamy, and the subsequent days after, are fluffy, with a touch of instant love going on. There’s not much in the way of angst in this book, other than some issues that need to be discussed, and the guys do it well. I didn’t mind the fluff, because sometimes it’s nice to read a story with little angst, full of sweetness, puppies (there are puppies!), and some hot sex.
The Dom/sub relationship could have been delved into a bit more, and the backstories of both our guys could have been fleshed out in more detail. Some things are touched upon, but never really explained. But, I still enjoyed this story, and these two MC’s, and it’s a good read for a summer day.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I think this book is best summed up as one with lots of potential that just hasn't been reached. I have read books by BA Tortuga before so when this one came up with Jodi Payne too, I jumped at the chance to read it. From previous experience, I know there wouldn't be lots of angst and knew it would give me the HEA I'm always looking for. Whilst it lived up to these expectations, it sadly didn't do a whole lot else for me. Tad and Strait meet and it seems like they jump right into things without getting to know anything about one another... and we don't get to know them either. Tad is apparently a sub but we never do find out what he really wants in regard to this. He thinks Strait is naturally dominant enough that he can 'turn' him into the dom of his dreams - again we have no idea what his vision for this is. Other than a couple of spankings nothing else really happens. Next thing you know, they're talking honeymoons around the world and living together. I ended the book without any firm idea what either does for a job, what their family is really like or even too much about their friends. It was like reading from behind a bubble - you get snippets of things but nothing clearly stated or described. On a positive note, I did really like Mitch and Andy as secondary characters and only wished we could have more of them and their story. I also thought the puppies were a cute touch but again this wasn't followed through. Overall, this wasn't the book for me but that isn't going to stop me from reading more books by these authors. I'm looking forward to whatever they release next, whether independently or together.
Billionaire Cowboy/Oilman, Natural Submissive, gorgeous island paradise…oh my, yes please!
When Tad heads into his favorite Friday night bar to meet up with his friends he has no idea how fast his world is going to be tipped upside down. Strait is still dealing with the loss of his best friend and darts in the nearby bar after Dave’s funeral. While expecting to have a quick drink and head back to his ranch, Strait is pleasantly surprised at the “sweet little thing” that he got to cozy up with. But can the handsome cowboy give Tad everything he needs?
I love BA and Jodi’s men and books. They know how to add the right amount of heat along with the sweetness. Tad is just what Strait needed to complete his life. But Tad needs more than gifts lavished on him and money to burn. He needs love and a strong hand. He’s had the money life with his family but needs the man who truly gets him and his true needs. I loved that Tad saw that Strait had what he needed and went for it. Showing Strait what was already deep inside himself was great. Doing that while away on a private tropical beach was the icing on the cake! Who wouldn’t want that life?
This was a fun yet steamy quick read that will make your heart purr with delight. I just wish we could have gone to the wedding and honeymoon with the guys too. I bet that would be a great adventure. Highly recommend this fun, fast read!
*2.5* Ummmm..... This one ended up being a very hit and miss for me which I'm sad with because I am a sucker for Jodi and BA's cowboy romances. The pluses for me are the connection and physical attraction that you can feel between Strait and Tad. From the moment they lock eyes at the bar, you can totally see their happy ever after. The supporting characters are a great group of guys, in both sides. Cooper seems like a little energiser bunny who has Tad's back for anything. Andy and Mitch are a great couple who work for but are also the closest friends of Strait. There's a couple of beautiful settings to enjoy along with the MC's as they spend more time together. It also helps that I'm a sucker for puppies and low level angst stories. Now, my biggest but bear is that Tad needs a firm, rough hand and he's not too sure if Strait can provide that. When the possibility is brought up, mid session, there's no talk about expectations, limits, needs etc. There's a couple of sentences after but it's more of a "you can go harder" type of thing. The relationship development also felt a little stilted, jumping from one big thing to another. I love a good instalove story but this just didn't work out for me. We don't really get much history on their lives, either. I guessed at what Tad does for work and from things he says, assumed he doesn't really get on with his family. Overall, there is a good story there but the relationship part didn't really work out for me. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Strait and Tad have chemistry from the moment they meet, and their relationship moves from hookup to commitment rapidly. There’s a slightly unfocused quality to the narrative as a whole, and I think it comes from not having much of a plot to speak of-- Strait and Tad hookup in a number of places (many of them luxurious and gorgeous) and eat a number of different things (all of them delicious) and that’s pretty much what they do-- they’re each familiar, and comfortable, with the lifestyles of the 1%, so trips to the megaranch and private island, while beautifully described, aren’t really sources of tension beyond evolutions of how they relate to each other physically and, to a certain extent, emotionally. There’s no angst to be found, which is satisfying in some ways and not so much others: the minimal issues they do have (Tad wants a Dom, so he figures out how to encourage Strait to be that for him, Strait can get lost in his work, so Tad figures out how to deal) are handled with care and maturity. Good for them? Definitely. Riveting to read about? Depends on what you’re looking for. Still, there’s a lot of satisfaction to be found here if you want a story about two level headed, well off people (Tad isn’t Strait’s level of rich, but he comes from money) going about a life of luxury. It’s a relaxing beach type read, with plenty of steam, and if that’s what you’re looking for, I’d say dive right in.
*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Temptation Ranch is a fun, sexy and quick read with intriguing characters but unfortunately it is only an okay read for me. I was a bit disappointed by this book which is unusual as I love both of these authors. Tad and Strait have an instant connection and their relationship develops so quickly that there isn't a lot of time for them to really get to know each other. I like that they both were caring and supportive of each other as well as with their friends and they do have smoking hot chemistry. I wish that they had spent a lot more time talking and the kink element was never properly discussed or agreed upon. I also find it highly unlikely that Tad could be satisfied by a lover with no experience or interest in BDSM and again they never had a proper discussion about it. The lack of background information about both of the MC's also took away some of my enjoyment of the story. The best part of this story for me are the secondary characters and I would love to see more of Andy and Mitch. Overall this book had a lot of potential but it never really came together as a cohesive story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I really enjoyed the idea of this book but I'm not sure if it was over edited and the wrong things removed but something was lacking. Don't get me wrong the two main characters are great and have great chemistry and have some really hot scenes but there were also some really important conversations that were started and half had only to peter out and never be picked up which I'm not sure would have happened if that type of relationship was going to carry on.
This was no slow burn book, it rushed with pace from very early on with out characters finding each other immediately with insta-lust pulling them together like a moth to a flame.
For a main character being a cowboy, living on a ranch there was a lack of anything cowboy/ranchy mentioned other than a couple of mentions of working with a horse!
I'm not sure what else to say about this book. I enjoyed it and you should give it a read xx
I received a free copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and provide my honest review voluntarily
Tad and Strait just seemed to mesh from the beginning. Strait came to NY because of the death of his friend Dave and after the services he winds up in a gay bar to sooth his soul over his loss. Little does he know that Tad has noticed his stoic demeanor and is drawn to him. Tad sees in Strait the silent Dom attribute that he needs for the kinky side of his life and so Tad sets out to strength Strait's proclivities. He starts out by adding "Sir" to their conversations whenever possible. He sees that Strait is "grounded in the earth, a cowboy for sure, but happy and free-spirited too." Strait is not only a millionaire as far as fortunes go but also as far as family goes. The secondary characters added a lot of charm also: Mitch, Bart, and Bart, Homer, and Marge. This is an inst-love story with all the Texas appeal that Minerva is known for. It is a fun read. Here you have my ARC review given to me via GRR and which I write voluntarily.
This was a light easy read that hooked me in and kept me reading because I fell in love with adorable, sweet Tad and gorgeous, strong Strait from the beginning. There was chemistry between them from the first time they met and while neither of them expected more than a night together they fit so well that it became more. There was some hesitation at first but they were swoon-worthy together and deserved their HEA. As much as I liked this book, and I did, in some respects it felt a bit rushed. It would have been nice if their backstories could have been expanded, especially Tad’s family, his kinks and Strait’s need for security. This story had two lovely MCs, some delightful side characters, light BDSM, low angst and some heat. It was an easy, enjoyable read for me and I would recommend it if you want a sweet easy read that doesn’t go deep. I was given an ARC of this book to read and this is my honest and voluntary opinion.
What stops one from just putting it out there? Tad, likes his personal preferences a little heavy handed. He knows where to go to get satisfaction. He indulges in his lifestyle, but he longs for permanency. Strait, a billionaire lives life as he pleases, but wants someone to take care of and spoil. At a chance meeting, these two are automatically attracted to each other. As their relationship develops, they have yet to share their most intimate needs and wants. Is their relationship ready to share the truth? What stops them from the emotional intimacy, after they've shared so much? Are they afraid of how the other will receive their kinks? Can they step up and be what each other needs? Nice story. I would have liked more background on how they got where they are now. Tad and Strait are both likeable and Tad's found family are a hoot. Nicely done! I received an ARC an am voluntarily leaving a review
This book is amazing! I loved it from page 1 and wish there could have been more pages of this wonderful story to read! Strait and Tad’s story starts out on a sad note as they meet the day Strait buries a dear friend but it’s all up from there! The chemistry is immediate and off the charts and Tad fits so seamlessly into Strait’s life. Tad even gets along with his friends and his dogs. Things are going amazingly well until they take some time to visit Strait’s private island. While there, he will get involved in a project and Tad will feel a little lonely but they work it out and vow that it won’t happen again. It is there that Strait promises Tad forever and it’s the beginning of their journey to their happily ever after.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
I've read books from both of these authors before, but this one definitely left me wanting. It just felt...emotionless? I'm all for an intense, quick falling love, but I still want to know about the characters and get all the emotions. I don't know if it was more of a "telling" rather than "showing" type of feel or what, but this story didn't work for me.
Tad and Strait should have had crazy good chemistry together, but it just felt flat for me. Strait especially just seemed super stereotypical and full of cliches with his phrases and actions. And I know these authors can write kink, but this just seemed to miss the mark on this one too, it definitely needed more communication and also just overall depth to their relationship.
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
This sizzling and sweet story is perfect for a summertime read! An age gap, BDSM lite, cowboy love story, complete with puppies, island breezes and sizzles hotter than the sun.
Tad and Strait may be some of my very favorite cowboy MCs. I love how easy going Strait is and how Tad can flip that switch for Strait, so he’s also a very commanding Sir. And, I think my favorite part of Tad is his acknowledgement of what he needs in a relationship and his willingness to risk it all to attain it.
I have already read it twice and I’m still missing the guys. If sizzly-sweet cowboy love with some super-hot submission is what you are looking for, this is a must read!
A very steamy, sexy instant love book. Hot enough to scorch the pages. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened next. Tad and Strait eye each other from across the bar. One thing leads to another and the two spend a hot steamy few days and nights together. They can't keep their hands off each other. Strait doesn't want it to end and proposes more time together. Tad wants that too but with it being so new he goes home to think only of Strait. A few days later Strait needs Tad's help and extends an invitation. Tad likes a man with a strong hand and is determined to turn Strait into the man he needs. Turns out that Tad is very willing to be the man that Tad needs. A dreamy romance that happens almost instantly. Lots of heat but most of all lots of love. I highly recommend.
I really enjoyed the story of this book: Sweet, light, emotional and hot. The story is about the cowboy Strait (very rich) and Tad. Tad knows what his looking for: a Dom with a firm hand, Strait is not aware that he is exactly this. So the story takes it run. I love this story as it‘s so sweet with the great people, the great surroundings and the little greyhound puppies. This book is so nice to relax with reading, easy to follow and with the HEA we all love. From my perspective it‘s far away from reality (it‘s rare you find love on the first sight with a billionaire) but that‘s what I want: a book with a light story to dream with hot scenes in it.
Dive in this book and enjoy Tad‘s and Strait‘s finding together.
Hoo boy! This one is as hot as the sand on Strait’s private Caribbean beach. Tad meets the cowboy Strait one unforgettable Friday night in his favorite casual bar. Neither one of them could have predicted the smoldering fire they would light that night. Their compatibility is immediately obvious and they keep dragging out their time together. This book is full of some sweet heat and some spicy loving between two men who realize what they want and grab on with both hands. I loved it. I wouldn’t have minded a little more interaction with their family and friends just to see how their lives would go but this is a really good book. Another great one from Ba Tortuga and Jodi Payne!
This was my first book by either of these two authors and omg was it smoking! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Tad was a kinky boy who found Strait a muscled up smooth talking cowboy who had it all looks, money, but most of all heart and he just felt he was missing a firm hand. Together these two discovered the missing piece of themselves and I read it in one sitting. The only thing I felt was lacking was more kink after Strait discovered he wanted to give Tad everything he needed on the bedroom for a BDSM book it was just a tad (haha) too tame. But it was a smooth easy read and I will be back for more by these authors.
The insta-lust kinky cowboy romp premise sounded promising, but this ride just didn't quite do it for me. The characters are likeable, the exotic locales fun, and the steamy times certainly hot and plentiful, all of which I enjoyed. And there's adorable puppies - lots and lots of puppies.
I wasn't expecting a deeply emotional story, but it stayed very surface level when it could've been a whole lot more. A much needed D/s conversation between Tad and Strait also never happened, which was disappointing and bothersome given its importance. I received an advance reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily.
In this book you will find: a playboy, a hot cowboy, a quick mutual attraction that can’t pull the two apart, and a private island. Finally, a little bit of kink and a ton of summer heat. You have found Temptation Ranch by B.A. Tortuga and Jodi Payne. I really love anything these two authors put out every time I see one of their books its something that I must check out and Tad ad Strait are the two men in their latest novel. Tad thinks he is going to find a Dom that meets his needs. But is he brave enough to ask Strait that question? The Summer Heat is completely kicked up in this quick read and stays hot the entire book.
Uncomplicated, steamy cowboyfun, 3½* Strait and Tad meet at a bar one night, they are instantly attracted to each other and leave together for a night of fun. They hit it off, in more ways than one, and the one night becomes more. I liked Strait a lot, he is such a typical cowboy, drawling and all, but I wanted to know more about Tad, he was not described as well as Strait. Unfortunately the book fell a bit short for me, I expected more from these two authors, as I’ve read better books from both of them. If you want a very hot, very light summer read by the pool, this book is good fun. 3½* from me.
Disappointed. Ive enjoyed books from both authors previously, but felt that something wasnt there this time. I felt like Strait just took the first man he saw to bed and decided to keep him, I didnt feel any grief from losing his friend, or proper attraction to Tad. On the other hand, I have no relation to Tads side of the story either. He wants a Dom, and decides hes going to turn a stranger into his perfect one.
There were flashes of something on occasion. But I personally didnt enjoy this book.
I normally love BA Tortuga and Jodi Payne together, but Temptation Ranch didn’t really work for me. The character development is weak, and it’s mainly just a bunch of sex that isn’t even all that sexy. Strait is a little too perfect, a ridiculously wealthy cowboy whose only flaw seems to be spending too much time working instead of entertaining his needy boyfriend during their tropical getaway. Tad has very little depth and is a little whiny. I just didn’t feel an emotional connection to this one at all. It’s competently written but isn’t very believable or interesting.
