First found out about this writer through his X-Force (2019) run and i've been in love with his writing style ever since. Action-packed & simple storyline, plots that are easy to follow (i hate deep wordy & philosophical comics 😴). This is really jolly good! Not a huge fan of Wolverine but I've decided to pick it up anyway for the love of Benjamin Percy. I enjoyed it more than i thought i would. Can't wait to finish the whole run. Will be reading his Ghost Rider title next. I enjoyed his Wolverine Vs. Predator miniseries as well. Just purely straight action from start to finish!
My only complain is the shifting from arc to arc is too quick on some issues making it a bit hard to follow as sometimes i got lost & don't understand what is happening. But you will finally understand everything at the end of the story.
Also kudos to Adam Kubert's gorgeous artwork! Damn this guy has the hand of an angel!
Read as a whole, this provides a better bookending of the vampire story, which is the strong heart of this volume. Undead vampire give Wolverine the chance to really let loose, and so are a great plot.
Beyond that, the volume is a bit all over the place, with the Flower Cartel, the ghost woman, and a short story about Maverick. It's all interesting, but a lot of it's too inconclusive (including the vampire story).
Wolverine dealing with a street pollen cartel would have been an awesome series- the vampire stuff really detracted from everything I liked about the first 3 issues.
