From King, he transitioned to authors like Richard Laymon, Bentley Little, and Edward Lee. Recently, he discovered Independent Horror, Splatterpunk, Bizzarro, and Godless.com. NOSOPHOBIA was his first attempt at Splatterpunk, and it wasn’t his last. Gerhard’s writing is dark, satirical, and full of twists, and even if what you are reading is only 100 words long (a Drabble), you won't see the wall until you hit it.
When Gerhard is not writing or reading, he can often be found editing. Gerhard has been an editor for over ten years. He has edited and co-written/ghost written over sixty novels. He has also edited and developed educational scripts, pamphlets, manuals, Interactive Stories, and designed educational web sites. Gerhard is currently accepting solicitations from independent authors. For more information: BookPredator.com
Nihilophobia Is the fear of nothingness. Perhaps this explains the main character's thoughts at the end of this total mindfuck of a story. (I am so glad that I don't have to review this on Amazon.) There are components of familiarity, if you have read Simon McHardy's work, and Simon himself appears in this book. Oh, no, Simon, say it ain't so. I cried. The author's imagination is wild and weird, and leaves no stones (or bodily functions) unturned. The story was sick, and for being so out of bounds, I award it five stars. Next episode please, Mr. Geick.
Reading Nilhilophobia, I felt like I was a two year old crammed into a tumble dryer with a sack of hammers and was being pummeled by Gerhard’s unworldly fuckedupness. Another phenomenal read with dark psychological overtones, every body fluid you can imagine and an ending as surprising as a pubic lice epidemic in a nunnery. I really can’t get enough of this guy.
Oh, so you think you're going to have yourself a read of a horror story do you? A beginning, a middle, and an end, a nice little three-act structure of thrills, chills, and spills? Is that what you're thinking when you pick up Geick's second Godless.com release?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Jesus.
This isn't so much a horror story as a metafictional gouged-out chunk of a parallel universe, or maybe some sort of mashed up confessional/manifesto sandwiched between a daydream and a waking nightmare. Or maybe I'm just stringing words together because my brain is feeling like its been sucker punched AND reamed out. Wow.
This was a super fun short read! I am a really big fan of GNR and felt the same way when I went and seen them in Cleveland Ohio, June 4th, 1991. It was the Use Your Illusion tour. Axl comes out on stage to let us all know he fired their manager because his manger wanted him to play songs off Appetite and Axl didn’t want to . Really??? Use Your Illusion wasn’t even released at that time, so we knew hardly any songs (some covers was all) No Welcome To The Jungle, Paradise City, or Nighttrain. So in turn, I thought Axl was a total ass. I mean, It was good, but was totally disappointing. I heard they added some later that tour because of all the complaints, but none for Cleveland. I had seen them a few times on the Appetite tour and even some after so I obviously got over it. Anyways, knowing who the characters actually were in the story made me love it even more! 5 GNR stars ⭐️ 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Nilhilophobia explores situations that most of us could only wish of living in real life. Although if it were me, I'd be in Justin Beiber's dressing room.
I freaking devoured this, and not just because I had the distinct honor of being a character (thank you, Gerhard!!)!! Goodness grape juice, this was fantastic!!!
The story starts off as a slow burn, and you think, hmmmm, this is rather tame for an extreme horror story…. then, BAM!!! The narrator slowly goes off the rails and the train picks up speed!! The 2nd half is a ride you’ll likely never forget- full of no-holds barred nastiness and surprises that still have me reeling! In fact, to continue the analogy, the train jumps the rails and goes in a direction I never imagined!! You’ll suffer whiplash and a serious case of the gags!
I really enjoy Gerhard’s writing style. It’s psychological, which is really fun to dig apart and dissect. I think this is a must-read for those who love Guns n’ Roses, disgusting stories that make you uncomfortable and/or stories about friendship, redemption, and twisted family dynamics.
Nihilophobia is 5 solid stars!!
Trigger warning: all sorts of bodily fluids. And I mean, ALLLLLLLL the the…well, you’ll see…
This is my 2nd Book by Gerhard, the first being Nosophobia, which I loved. And I loved Nihilophobia even more. Chilling, dark, humorous, gross, brutal, sick and twisted... all my favourite things! 😉 This psychological story started out great, and ended awesomely, I couldn't put it down, it had me hooked! And Oma!!!! Omagod, what can I say, but I didn't see that coming!! 😮😂 5 Gold Discs From Me 📀📀📀📀📀
Holy moly! If you thought Nosophobia was a fantastic short story you will not want to miss Gerhard’s release of Nihilophobia! This story is top notch, and I am honored that I was asked to be a beta reader. I absolutely love G N’ R, and this book blends horror in splendidly! Gerhard is at the top of his game here, incorporating nods to his book of Drabbles, Axl Rose, and Horror. What is not to love?! This story will take hold of you, and not let go. I couldn’t put it down. It has so many elements of horror. Brutal, nasty, and some dark humor as well. Gerhard continues to expand, grow, and become even more eloquent in his writing with each release! You will not want to miss this release on July 18! Only available on Godless.com! I give Nihilophobia a perfect five stars out of five! You NEED to read this!
I definitely saved the best for last. This one deserves 10 stars.
It was really cool to see Simon McHardy in the story (and his creations Gob and Nob)…RIP you crazy son of a bitch.
I loved how, after all was said and done, the main character realized his intentions were mislead. There was more to it, and it wasn’t really Axl’s fault. He did terrible things for all the wrong reasons.
Part 2 took an unexpected turn. Technically, his Oma was lied to twice…so which lie was she more angry about?! She was so full of life at the end…good for her lol.
The bits of humor sprinkled throughout were top notch.
The writing flowed so smoothly. This man is underrated in my opinion. There’s a reason I’ve read almost all of his work in a few days time.
Geick, you got any more of them phobias??? *crackhead scratch*
