They say the price of freedom is learning that you have nothing left to lose.

There was a time when I had it all. Money. Power. Love. And in the blink of an eye, it was gone.

Along the road to my new life, I have a chance meeting with Cecilia Abernathy. Born to greatness, this American princess is out of my league. That doesn’t mean I don’t see her for the woman she is behind the headlines. In a rare glimpse I see not only her outward beauty but her inner determination. I’m moved by her in ways I don’t allow myself to ponder.

Time passes and I’m moving forward, persevering beyond my loss, and making a new name for myself. And then I’m given an assignment.

One job.
One quest.

If I succeed, my kingdom will be at hand.
If I fail, there will be no more chances.

Men like me aren’t saviors, and that isn’t my assignment. My mission is to find the daughter of one of the most powerful men in New York, in the country, and maybe the world. Find her and deliver her to her family’s rival.

Cecilia Abernathy has been kidnapped. All I have to do is exchange her current hell for another. And then I can walk away and claim my reward.

Has my taste of freedom made me willing to sell my soul for a kingdom?

Aleatha Romig weaves a twisted tale with jaw-dropping revelations, non-stop action, and heart-stopping twists and turns in the pages of Kingdom Come. It is an intense, gripping, steamy, and sizzling mafia romance that leaves you waiting for the other shoe to drop and feining for more. I loved uncovering the complex layers of Greyson and Cecilia. Their attraction and passion were sizzling hot and palpable; their stories were inspirational. It was quite a thrilling ride and I could not put it down. I highly recommend reading this book if you love dark mafia romances!

Most who disappoint or betray powerful, connected families don’t live long enough for a second chance. Greyson is not like most; he got to walk away. Seeking a way back into a kingdom he’ll take any job to prove himself. When his job is finding Cecelia, he accepts. While he does find her, he also finds so much more.

Once again, Aleatha Romig has sucked me into a world I didn’t want to leave.

Aleatha Romig has done it again! Kingdom Come is an underworld thrill ride packed with all the danger, deception and betrayal readers have come to expect from this author. This standalone starts like a shot out of a gun and travels at the speed of light page after page.

Rough and smooth, hard and soft, ruthless and caring, Greyson Ingalls may just be my favorite Aleatha bad boy yet. Couple him with the strength, resilience and smarts of Cecelia Abernathy, and what we’ve been given is a power couple the likes of which readers have never seen.

Amazing storytelling, heart-stopping twists and turns, Kingdom Come grabs you from page one and simply doesn’t let go.

Aleatha Romig is simply unputdownable.

Kingdom Come is an edge of your seat, fast paced, suspenseful thriller, with lots of smolder and steam.

Greyson Ingalls feels like a familiar character with a shaded past. He reminds Cecelia that he is not the man that she thinks he is…. He isn’t, Greyson is more. He’s wonderfully complex, yet simple in his desires and intentions.

Cecelia Abernathy has her world rocked. While she feels small and weak in one singular moment, she is strong and fiercely independent. She is trying to be squashed in her endeavors but she refuses to back down.

The twist and turns are ones I never saw coming. While this story is complete, I fell in love with these characters and would love to read their story until the end of time. Like I said, this book was superb and I would highly recommend it – as well as any book Aleatha Romig has written. One-click this now.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. Truly one of my favorites by Aleatha. I am just still reeling from finishing this book. Grayson is totally my favorite book boyfriend now. The heroine was so strong and fierce and I loved that when she dimmed because she went through a hell of a LOT, he was there to remind her that she shone. Seriously, just go one-click this. You will NOT regret it.

Do Not start the book in the evening because it won't let you put it down and go to sleep!!
Aleatha delivers a masterful, superbly constructed thriller with high tension and clever twists, but also vital heart and soul. A wildly absorbing and propulsive look at what happens when good people do bad things and the unimaginable ripple effects of a crime gone horribly wrong.
Terrific storytelling had me holding my breath at every twist and turn up until the last explosive finale.

description

OMG..OMG..OMG..OMFG!!
This book just blew my mind to smithereens. Aleatha has deviously knit a complicated plot. Every time I thought I had it all figured out, I was proven wrong on the next turn, in the next chapter.
There's a wide cast of characters and trust me...ALL ARE VILLAINS. No one is untainted or uninvolved, the hero is the Lesser Devil in the Deep Blue Sea of corrupt underworld which has no morals, no shame and no mercy.

description

It's brutal, it's heinous and it legit had my gag reflexes triggered at many points.
Aleatha holds NOTHING BACK. When she drops Cecelia Abernathy in the middle of the a violent battle being fought between the Tillers & Abernathy-Dellingers, her saviour Greyson Ingalls has his work cutout for him. No leads, no ransom, no clues in his hand and he has to find her.

"Never again would the sun fully shine. Flowers forever lost their beauty. Life would always be different, and there was nothing I could do to make it the way it was or to regain my innocence."

description

Greyson really is living on borrowed time and disposable life. His back story can be read in Devil's Deal & Angel's Promise.
The Ghost Of New Orleans is NOT the person you think he is, his motives are NOT what you believe you've figured out and his personality is NOT what you hoped it'd turn out to be. A man of surprising capabilities and murderous abilities, I fell in love with him the moment I laid eyes on him.

"Greyson was unlike any other man I’d been with. He was mystery and danger, hurt and healing, caring and sensitivity. He was a dichotomy and a puzzle filled with ambiguity."

description

The plot thickens with every stir like a clam chowder. The list of villains keep growing and too many players are now murkying the plot.
All have their own agendas, their fingers in the pie and Cecelia is the proverbial lamb being taken to the altar for slaughter. Her neck is on the line, whichever way you cut it.

"In the middle of a raging storm, I was hit with the realization that despite her heritage or financial and powerful status, Cecilia Abernathy had her own storms to calm and ghosts to defeat."

description

It's a thriller racing at breakneck speed. I was stunned at every twist, was stupefied by every revelation that wound the ball tighter making it almost undecipherable for me.
Every page is a step back so the picture keeps getting larger, boundaries getting farther. When it ends..OMG THE END, and you see the entire truth laid out in all its dirty grey glory,it'll be hard to decipher as to who really is the Hero.
Last few books by Aleatha have had me awestruck by the polish that her craft is gaining. She's become bolder, more graphic while her plots have become tighter and taut.
Whatever you're doing, keep it up girl. Nobody can touch you when it comes to weaving mysteries and intricacies.

My kingdom would never come. A man didn’t fuck two of the most dangerous families and get rewarded.

Now it's been a hot minute since I last read an Aleatha book. Since Consequences actually. And you know what? I have no idea why. If there's one thing I know, it's that this author can write one hell of a romantic suspense thriller. And this book? Oh what an intricate web it was.
Tell me you’re sorry that you woke the monster within me, the one that died when I died. Tell me to back away, Cecilia.”
My breasts throbbed against his hard chest. “I’m not sorry, Greyson.”
Releasing my hair, he reached for my wrists and pulled them over my head. “Oh, you will be.”

This was a slow burn romance full of intricate plot twists, action and suspense. Greyson is a character that's easy to fall for. This is a broken man with plenty of demons in his past. I will say I feel like I did myself a disservice by not reading Devil's Deal first. There is definitely some carry over from that story, and I couldn't help but feel I was missing details of Greyson that would have been covered there. But having said that, there are still plenty of details given here to make sure the reader understands.

Greyson is a man running from his past. He's an interesting dynamic of unassuming alpha. There's this quiet intensity to him which I really loved. Cecilia was easily my favorite character in this story. This is a woman that's grown up in privilege and money, but there's a strength to her that gets unveiled with every new chapter. The woman is kidnapped, abused, and held to be sold. When all hope seems lost by her, she's rescued by a handsome stranger. Only she doesn't quite realize he has an agenda of his own.

There's a strong mystery, thriller element to this story, which I loved. I couldn't wait to peel back the layers of this this intricate web of lies and betrayal. Greyson does his best to keep Cecilia at arm's length, but there's only only so much he can do to avoid the temptation of the brewing chemistry between them.

My only quibble with the story is I felt like I was missing a large chunk by not having read the Devil's duet first, but that's on me. While this did feel like a standalone, I still think I would have enjoyed it even more had I read that duet first. But nonetheless, this was a story I devoured and enjoyed the hell out of. I now need to rectify my mistake of waiting so long to read another Aleatha book and binge on her backlist.

I liked the premise, the suspense was intriguing, however I was not convinced by the romance which felt flat and couldn’t connect with the characters as much as I was anticipating for.
Greyson must had had an appearance in a previous story by A.R. and in the current one I was missing basic parts of his past.

Note: If the hero in the story is blond, then a blond model would be nice to appear on the cover. 🙄 That simple. 😉

An intricate, suspenseful, twisty story that engages you from the get go. It took me a few moments to figure out who the hero was and where I had come across him before. And then the story became all the more intriguing because I knew him!! I will say that whether or not you know the hero, the story is still an engaging fast paced energetic read.

I loved the journey that Greyson “the rescuer” and Cecilia “the heiress who was kidnapped” embarked on. Thrown together by calculating and sinister forces, their connection was a process that came together by having to trust each other but also never denying their was a desire between them. Who is good, who is bad, who can be trusted and who can’t are all questions that must be figured out. Greyson and Cecilia must rely on each other that their bond will help them overcome and overpower the evil plot that will effect both of their lives.

Kingdom Come is an intriguing and climatic read with hidden agendas. It has mystery, lust, twists and turns that are all fabricated in a delicious read. A wonderful dark suspenseful romance!!

This book was everything!!!

Cecilia Abernathy, the heir to the Dellinger Dynasty, has been kidnapped and its up to one person to find her and bring her to her family's rival. There are so many twists and turns in this story that I urge you not to start this at night time because there is no way you'll want to put this down. I mean it, I had my nose in this book for the better part of two days while ignoring everything else around me, I was totally engrossed in not only the action/adventure & mystery/suspense but the romantic connection that came from the unlikeliest of circumstances.

No Spoilers which is why I am not naming the Hero of this story but I will say that I have been hoping a certain person would get his HEA sooner rather than later and wondering how it would happen and this book was the answer I was waiting for.

If you enjoy Romantic Suspense, Dark Romances, or Organized Crime Romances I would HIGHLY Recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

This book was an epic, dangerous, star-crossed lover kind of romance. I was sucked so deep into it so quickly, I had to drop everything else I was doing to finish it. The best part of this Underworld King collection is that it has got me to try new authors and revisit other from past years. Sometimes to a resounding success like Kingdom Come.

I have only read one other book by Aleatha Romig and it wasn't a full romance, so I had been a bit shy to try her books again. I know they are very twisty and often very dark though, so I thought an entry to the Underworld Kings would probably be the perfect opportunity to try again.

This book starts with Cecilia being kidnapped, humiliated, violated, and held for ransom. She is a member of a very powerful family and her worth is completely in the hands of those willing to pay for her, which shockingly, might not only be her family. She is completely vulnerable and is holding on to her strength by a thread.

When Greyson is tasked with using his special set of skills to rescue her, there are quite a few red flags. Most of which he blows right past once he sees her forcibly displayed for sale on the Dark Web. He is not a good man, but he will stop at nothing to retrieve Cecilia.

This tale then becomes a forced-proximity novel and the tension between them grows and grows. There is a race against the clock and lots of big players who all want a piece of them. Will they make it out alive?

I loved almost every part of this story. Romig has a visceral way of painting a picture and I felt all the pain and gritty realism throughout the narrative. This was quite a ride but one I highly recommend you take.

There are trigger warnings for physical assault and the humiliation is painful to witness but it makes the romance all the more triumphant.

There are times I am at a loss for words, speechless. Doesn’t happen often and if you are the person that caused my taciturn state that means you are someone special. If you’ve ever been Aleatha’d then you know that she is someone special.

Men that are harsh, a bit full of themselves, and sexy as sin are what Aleatha gives. But at the same time, these men are broken, deterred, and lost.
Women that are strong, determined, and sensual are what Aleatha produces. Yet, these women are sometimes unsure, scared, and timid.

And this is where Aleatha starts to pull ahead of the game, leaving all others in the dust…

Greyson is so lost that he does not see a road to redemption. His future is indicative of his past...so he thinks. And his past is not without its treachery. He’s done some diabolical things. He’s lied, cheated, murdered, and stole. His kingdom has crumbled around him.

Cecilia is so trusting she can’t see the forest for the trees. Believing in family is what she was raised to do. The people she thought had her best interest at heart and loved her unconditionally did...until they didn’t. Her kingdom is crumbling around her.

Watching Greyson and Cecilia discover each other and the truth tugged at every heartstring emotion I had. He’s rebuilding his Kingdom. Her Kingdom is collapsing. He’s searching for the truth. She’s been fed lies. But together...a new Kingdom may just come into play.

Once again the road to discovery and redemption paved by Aleatha is not straight and narrow. As the Queen of Twist and Turns, she maintains that title with Kingdom Come. The journey we embark on is just as intense, just as profound as previous stories, but there is a tenderness to this story. A benevolence of sorts.

As always I am enamored by Aleatha’s words. I am held hostage by her gift. I am honored to give her five stars.

This is my one click author no matter what I am reading. To make it even better I won a signed copy of this delicious tale, which one of my GR friends piece together for me (The Devil's Series Duet). Cecilia Abernathy, New York heir to the Dellinger Hotels dynasty, is on top of her life that is until the day she was kidnapped. No matter how she spins it in her head how could she be in this nightmare with her own bodyguard being killed in front of her how could someone get inside a building her family owns without being traced. Sale her o the highest bidder on the dark web, without a peep from her family. Who is really behind her kidnapping? Greyson Ingalls (Kyle O'Brien) from New Orleans who had his own kingdom full of power and riches was exiled. Now resurrected wanting his own kingdom again he took a job thinking he could have it all again. The Tillers & Dellinger are rivals, Greyson (Kyle) is hired to find Cecilia and deliver her to her rival. The problem become which family do he piss off more. The more I dig I'm finding out am I delivering her from one enemy to another hell. Who can Cecilia trust and to boot these are the most powerful men in New York so am I running from New Orleans into my own trap and which family do I trust?

Kingdom Come surprised and entertained me. The plot is twisty, the characters are complex, and when the WTF moment finally arrived, I'm stunned, at what the author just pulled off. This one blew my mind. Good pace and exactly the narrative to make you want to see. The suspense of what will happen next was thrilling!

I truly enjoyed the twist and constant mystery this book leads you. Aleatha Romig has a way of delving deeply into characters. My emotions were all over the place rooting for Greyson and Cecilia to figure out who to trust when it seems that everyone only has a sinister intention. If you like books of this genre, you will be as obsessed with this one! A must-read!

We’ve been Aleatha’d yet again! What dark, delicious, twisting, suspenseful and addictive tale-of an exiled anti-hero out for revenge and a kidnapped heiress. What a fantastic addition to the Underworld Kings collaboration. Yet another absorbing and intense story from the queen of the dark and twisty romantic suspense.

Greyon is such an intriguing hero- a man who has remade himself to adapt, a man who wants his kingdom. He’s dark, delicious- a cold and ruthless man living on the edge, laying in darkness waiting to reshape his world . Until Cecelia- a Dellinger crime princess, stolen and up for auction, an important heiress defenseless in the face of a traumatic future, to be sold to the highest bidder amongst nefarious and corrupt men. And now she’s Greyson’s latest paycheck- collect the princess before she’s sold. But just what fate awaits her if she’s rescued? Ah- so many twists, so much action, deception, and drama, loads of hidden agendas, and super spicy romance as Greyon and Cecelia navigate these murky waters.

Greyson is just intoxicating as our leading man- he’s a force, a broken man trying to escape his past. I wish I’d read the series where we first met him- I think I’d have fallen for his story arc even more if I had more context for his beginnings, but nonetheless, he’s a delicious alpha, but surprisingly stoic and reserved. Like a dormant volcano, waiting to erupt. But Cecilia is the star- we get to watch her evolve from a stolen princess into a fierce warrior. She’s a perfect contrast of vulnerability and strength.

Their chemistry is such a dynamic push-and-pull. The burn is slower, but the intensity between them is palpable, and in this case, particularly effective as they learn to trust and invest in each other. And when these two come together, it is surprisingly tender. And the romance is so well juxtaposed with the action and mystery- something Aleatha excels at. This standalone ticks so many boxes- it’s got that sensual eroticism I love about Aleatha stories and a well-integrated, thrilling mystery. There were a few parts where I felt desperate for the pace to be faster, but the urgency enriched the pay off.

The suspense is gripping, the twists surprising, and the action breath-taking. I loved how I could never tell just who was up to what- this is a story where characters straddle the line of good and bad so easily - no one can be trusted and who is working against who?! It all comes together in the end in a gripping and satisfying finale- quite a delicious conclusion indeed.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Kingdom Come by Aleatha Romig is one of several books in the Underworld Kings series. A series where each book is written by a different author. The books work well as standalones, making it easy for one to start anywhere in the series they desire.

In 📚Kingdom Come, Romig served up a tale filled with suspense, action, intrigue and romance. A tale which keeps the reader entertained from start to finish. While one may be tempted to go through the story quickly to feed one’s desire to learn what awaits the characters, this story  needs to be savored.

We see greed at play and the lengths one will go to gain power in this fascinating tale. Filled with many twists and turns, the story leaves you breathless with each page turn.

The story introduced the reader to a variety of flawed characters majority of whom were villains. The main exception being the heroine Cecelia, who was the victim of a heinous act. An act perpetrated by persons whom she expect would protect her. Greyson, the hero and the lesser of all the evils in this brutal world, proved to be Cecelia’s saving grace. The one person whom came to her rescue and who made it his mission to protect her in the aftermath.

📚Kingdom Come elicited a variety of emotions, but the urge to scream and throw my kindle across the room topped the list.  (Not that I would, that thing is bloody expensive). Then there were the moments which had cheering, especially when certain characters received what they so richly deserved. Those moments were absolutely golden.

Greyson Ingalls is originally from New Orleans and is looking to outrun his past.  The story gave a little peak into his past, despite this he remained an enigma. (I discovered at the end that the details surrounding his past can be found in the following books: Devil’s Deal and Angel’s Promise. Now that is two more books to add to my TBR). Despite the limited details surrounding his past, Greyson was a man of action and not afraid to get his hands dirty. The type of hero one cannot help but cheer for.

"Greyson was unlike any other man I’d been with. He was mystery and danger, hurt and healing, caring and sensitivity. He was a dichotomy and a puzzle filled with ambiguity."

I admired Cecelia’s strength and bravery. She went through hell at the hands of villains. Despite the degrading acts committed against her, she never allowed it to break her. She came from a powerful family, but id nothing to protect her. The fight for power placed her in this precarious position. The media portrayed her as a pampered princess, but this was far from true.

I enjoyed the romance that developed between Cecelia and Greyson. Greyson may be a villain, but he knows how to treat a woman. He did attempt to push her away several times, as he didn’t feel worthy, but his heart had other plans. Some may question the authenticity of the romance given the circumstances of its development, but I thought it was true to the story.

If you enjoy romance set in the underworld, then 📚Kingdom Come will make a great addition to your reading list.

Kingdom Come by Aleatha Romig was full of so much breathtaking suspense and raw emotions. It was a power packed storyline with endless twists and strong characters and it was so irresistible!

Greyson Ingalls has left his past life and kingdom in New Orleans and has taken this new identity to survive. Now he takes missions from the rich and corrupt and dangerous people. And his new mission is to find Cecilia Abernathy- Dellinger, the American princess and heiress to the Dellinger kingdom who has been kidnapped and put on auction. Greyson's employer has some plans for her. He shouldn't care for Cecilia but once he retracts her from the dangerous situation, he finds himself to be intrigued by her. He has to protect her at any cost. Even his life.
.
Greyson is a great antihero. He has a very dark side but also a protective alpha side. He has lost everything and he is a shell of a man now. He is reckless, careless and dangerous. He is a man who has nothing to lose. Till he meets Cecilia in person. She may have been born with the platinum spoon but she has made a name of herself in family business on her own merit. Strong. Classy. Elegant. Fierce. Compassionate. Smart. Beautiful. The whole package in a heroine. Her life has been a mess since the day she was kidnapped. Humiliated. Degraded. Traumatised. But she hasn't lost her self belief and self respect. She won't go down without fighting. She wears her wounds like badge of honour. Greyson repeatedly marked himself to be a bad man but he gave back her dignity, didn't try to put her down and healed her from inside out. Cecilia trusted the broken man and she was not wrong. They were forced to come close under extenuating circumstances but their souls bonded instantly. The chemistry was beautiful and intense. The story is a web of secrets, conspiracies and deceptions and I couldn't breathe freely till the end. Greyson and Cecilia had to go through so much pain, darkness and heartbreak and the ending was perfect.
.
Aleatha Romig never disappoints when it comes to Romantic suspense and Kingdom Come was another amazing read.

Kingdom Come
(Underworld Kings)
Written by: Aleatha Romig

How on earth does Aleatha Romig get better with each story I read? Her writing is addictive, I see her name, and I need to read that story!

With Kingdom Come I was invested from page one and when I realized who Greyson was that little devil on my shoulder said, you knew you hadn’t heard the last of that man! Honestly, for someone I didn’t really like (because I knew him when he was in NOLA) to someone I’ve fallen in love with! He’s older and wiser and he is sharp! I’d want him on my side any day.

Not the way one wants to be introduced but Cecilia Abernathy made a huge impression on me! Girl has gumption, guts and backbone! What she needs right now is a hero and the clock is ticking, literally!

Their story was nothing but twists and turns, lies and deceit, threats and coercion, humiliation, dark and dirty and So So good! Kingdom Come is romantic suspense at its best and when everything comes to light you let out a huge breath that you didn’t even know you were holding.

There is a connection between Greyson and Cecilia and the bond they develop keeps them going when hope is needed, be they apart or together. They are one of my favorite couples. They don’t fight what they feel; they feel because they are alive and together. I would happily love to see more of these two!

This was one of those “I can’t put this book down reads.” This story held me captive and I loved every minute of it! Five plus stars for Kingdom Come!

Tantalizing walk on the darker side…

I read – a lot – so when a story comes along that feels different and grabs my attention right away, I sit up and take notice. Cecelia and Grayson – their strength, their character – the situation they found themselves in… It was scary, complicated and full of twists and turns that kept me up late reading… And, bottom line, I quickly came to like and worry over the characters. You know how you yell at the screen to warn the actors when you don’t want them hurt? It was kind of like that. Only I had no idea where the danger was actually coming from.

Kidnapping was just the start of this nail-biter plot. Grayson knew there was more and he was going to find out while he juggled ensuring Ceclia’s safety. Such few words to describe the tension that permeated every page of this fantastic read. How do you fall in love when you are worried about your life? Your family? Well, you cling to it like a lifeline…

A wild ride from start to finish, the surprises were everywhere. And so was the love… ~Diane, 5 stars

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL … HOPELESSLY HOOKED FROM THE FIRST PAGE

“There was a time when I was heir apparent to a kingdom … I was the man on the inside, the one with the ability to grant life, love, and power. That was years ago in another life. I preferred action. I craved control. I desired power. … I had to move beyond the bayou, where the darkness met the darker.”

And dark it gets. Two damaged souls caught in a dark web. A lifeless heart unfrozen by love. Childish wishes. It all comes out to play in a rousing tale of suspense and love where the truth will set the MCs free and make targets of them in a war beyond their ken. Be still my beating heart … New Orleans’ boy Greyson Ingalls (aka Kyle O’Brien from the Devil’s Series Duet) gets his own book! Let the fantasizing begin as that delectable, tall drink of water with muscles and charisma to burn mixes it up with a fierce “beauty & brains”, exec/heiress. The close proximity page-turner had me on the edge of my seat AND all hot and bothered. The alpha and the beauty were a face-fanning, romantic force of nature in a romance suspensor that gripped me from the first page with extreme danger, heartmelting romance, and tearjerker moments. Real tears. What a captivating story about a guy hidden in plain sight for revenge and a stolen princess who wants to be found, literally and figuratively. You’ll just die when you read the the rhapsodically poetic, musical metaphors describing their lovemaking. Best of all, every little story crumb that AR drops along the way gets resolved. She never forgets those loose ends. But those "childish wishes' are the romantic icing on the cake.

Exiled Greyson is on his second resurrection of life – a sought-after enforcer with mad skills that will make your head spin. A true chameleon of survival who knows his way around the hi-tech world, weapons, and a woman without skipping a beat, though the latter hasn’t been on his radar for years. These days he’s dead serious about working his way back into a kingdom of his own again, while amassing a small fortune and evading those seeking revenge from his past. So far, so good … until richbish heiress Cecelia Abernathy of the Dellinger crime family is abducted for sale to the highest bidder on the Dark Web. Bad blood brews between the West Coast Tillers and East Coast Dellingers, but Greyson is Switzerland in their rivalry. It’s just a job for money with a ticking clock to rescue the precious princess for the “other side” before the sale ends and she’s lost forever. But, which side should he actually give Cecelia to once rescued? It all gets pretty dicey when things don’t go as planned, double-cross may be afoot, and Greyson takes a personal interest in Cecelia.

“My kingdom would never come. A man didn’t fuck two of the most dangerous families and get rewarded.”

Oh, you know that saying about something being “rotten in Denmark”. This energized, ultra-sexy, beyond steamy, nail-biter with oodles of tech-savvy corporate intrigue revved my jets to the max with intimacy and action. It’s a combustible mix of romance, mystery, suspense, and unpredictable twists and turns that AR is known for. The surprises kept coming and I was blissed out throughout the kinetic conundrum, as Greyson walks a tightrope of survival, romance, and his own 3rd resurrection. Both are caught in a game of deception and trust that neither understands. What’s the smoking gun?

“In another life, I wouldn’t let you go”. ~~ “In another life, I would hold on so tight, you couldn’t.” Just wrap your heart around that!

Cecelia's smart, vulnerable, sexy, believably out of her element as an abductee, a bit shell-shocked and confused about who to trust, yet still has her wits about her when it counts. As for Greyson, this is the 3rd time in a row that AR’s newest man candy has stolen my heart away from the previous guys. Self-denigrating Greyson’s loneliness, isolation, tragic past and loss, his broken dreams, and desire to claw his way back were heartbreaking. He may be a stone cold killer, but he’s one of the best men you’ll ever meet between the pages of a book or IRL, and his tenderness and bedroom skills made my eyes water. Their forced proximity takes up a big portion of the story, which really delves into the progression of their relationship before the crap hits the fan. So much intimacy and emotion breaks surface for both MCs, as their gravitational pull is the antidote to everything they’ve been missing. The reader shares the same lack of omniscience as the MCs, so the mystery and truths truly remain so until solved and wraps up with a pitch perfect epilogue. The suspense action will wow you; the romance will slay you. Wait til you find out what’s really going on! Catch up on Greyson’s backstory in Devil’s Series.

With this one, I have done something I rarely do with an Alreatha Romig story. I took my time. A little back story: I had a biopsy done while reading and this story took me away (as with all stories I read) from the worry and waiting for results. The good news, the results were negative.
Now to this awesome story. Author Alteaha Romig has done it again, she has brought to life another anti-hero (or so it seems) with a past that will have you wondering where his life will take him.
Grayson is the kind of guy you will love to hate, the perfect guy for Aleatha fans. He is strong, independent, trustworthy, lost, and maybe damned. He is also the perfect hero in this story, even though he thought he was sent to rescue Cecilia, after everything they go through, I think she rescued him.
Cecilia is a strong independent woman and when her family tries to force her into something, she refuses. It takes a very strong person to go against the family, but when the family is seriously wrong, Cecilia will fight with all she has to make things right.
This story is filled with suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat until the end, you will be intrigued and awed at the writing of this story. Wondering how it will end and hope for the best for Grayson and Cecilia.
If you haven't read anything from this author yet, I highly recommend this one. You will fall in love with these characters and this author's writing style.
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review and this is my honest opinion**

Oh boy, I'm gonna just drop this one...
It was well written, it had a simple storyline BUT the deliverance of the plot was very complex and layered and at times, that was a bit overbearing, I've lost track of "who-did-what-to-whom" a few times, ok well, I also had a lot of things on my mind otherwise...and that did influence somewhat on the general impression of the story... :/
My bad...

Another twisted marvelous gem penned by Aleatha! Cecilia Abernathy and Greyson Ingalls reminded me of Charli and Nox, who are my favorite couple! A lot of the circumstances were similar and both have a lot of the same traits.

The family dynamics were all over the place! You don't know who to trust and who to believe. And if you do decide to believe one way, just wait! You will be changing your mind a little farther down. Nothing is as it seems except the passion between Cecilia and Greyson! That leapt off the pages in a fiery blaze!

The suspense, intrigue, and passion kept me immersed in this book and I didn't want to put it down! As this is a standalone, I knew we would have resolution at the end, but I was still sad when I got to the last page. The Epilogue was Priceless! As well as finding out some truths about Greyson! Loved This Book!!!

Another great addition to the Underworld Kings Series. I loved Greyson and his drive to keep Cecelia safe. Greyson is looking to establish himself within the criminal elite. He does job various nefarious jobs for his clientele. He's tasked to find the mafia princess Cecilia Abernathy after she's been kidnapped. While on the job he discovers things aren't what they seem. This was a thrilling read. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the good and bad guys were along with Greyson and Cecilia. An amazing read filled with passion, twists and turns that will grip you from beginning til the end.

Well, all I can say is that sleep is overrated! It definitely interfered with my need to NOT put this book down! With twists, turns, manipulation, trauma, fear and deep antipation of the next revelation in the plot, I was immersed in a world of innocence and depravity that left me breathless. Greyson and Cecilia are fantastic creations. Aleatha has knocked it out of the park in their character development, the plotting of their meeting and the run up to it, and the manner in which she involves the reader in the need to see both characters bloom, succeed and find their way to happiness. It is a deeply stony path, filled with many shocks and setbacks and I loved every single minute. This book has been explosive and all consuming. I am still shell shocked and just need a few minutes.....💖💖💖💖💖🍸🎊🎉

Standalone PERFECTION! Kingdom Come is just that good. Aleatha Romig has hit a home run with this single novel containing all the suspense, twists and turns she's known for in one enticing story. If you love a great mafia tale, dark, gritty, horrific, evil characters, sexy and powerful hero and heroine, non-stop action and suspense, Kingdom Come is the novel for you! The twists and turns will have your mind working overtime to keep up and will keep your heart pounding as you turn the pages. Be forewarned, once you start reading, it will be almost impossible to stop. Greyson and Cecelia's story will consume you! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this one. Grab it and experience all the excitement of the Underworld Kings!
