Swami Sanistanandaji of the Ramakrishna mission rightly said that some Hindu scriptures and metaphors need explanation from an enlightened master or else they won't make sense to the common man.

Having read most of the puranas in the past, I often discarded them as vile fables until I came across this amazing book written by pujya Guruji. The commentary accompanying the verses is simply breathtaking and very easy to understand, often cross referenced to the verses in various Upanishads and the Gita.

I encourage all readers, young and old, to read this book and understand the immortal richness of the Shrimad Bhagvatam.

Excellent book. Tejomayananda has summed up most issues related to this abstruse, enormous devotional text with reverence and respect. Even though the Chinmaya movement gravitates towards Advaita Vedanta for the most part, Swamiji has imbued these explanations with true devotional fervour.
