Thorne Roberts is a Hollywood Adonis.

America's teen heartthrob.

Just another raven-haired, sharp-jawed, entitled bad-boy celebrity with a pretty face. Everything I detest.

So when he comes into my family's place of business and makes demands, I shut him down.

But now my parents are being sued, and it's my fault. Their business and my future are at stake. So when he stares at me with those dark, brooding eyes and proposes a fake relationship to get him out of trouble and save my parent's bakery from inevitable demise, I say yes.

After all, how hard can it be?

All I have to do is fake-date America's hottest Hollywood star without getting feelings involved.

No biggie.

There's only one problem: He's not quite the wild child the media makes him out to be. He's actually kind of broken and . . . sweet.

After reading and enjoying Hate Notes by Gracie Graham, I knew this was a series I wanted to continue to read and just like the first book, this one was also enjoyable. It also featured one of my favorite pairings - celebrity and a regular girl (not one of the popular). This book starts with Scarlet and her friend Penelope and Topher at Scarlet's parents’ bakery when a customer aka Cranky Lady starts choking and Scarlet goes to save her but, of course, now her family's business and Scarlet's college fund are being threatened as Cranky Lady is suing her parents' bakery. Meanwhile on the other side of the tracks is a Hollywood actor and bad boy Thorne Roberts. Thorne has finally landed a great role but his bad-boy antics are making the film producers etc have second thoughts and now they are taking a hiatus after his latest stunt. Now Thorne and his team have to do damage control and change his perception to the public which means hospital visits to the kids' wards etc. This is what brings him and Scarlet face to face as she is the perfect person to pretend to be his fake girlfriend as she is about the only person in the world who won't bend to his every whim as she sees him as an entitled jerk and Hollywood actor. However, as the pair start spending time together, we of course see sparks fly as Scarlet learns a different side of Thorne as he befriends the freaks and geeks and stands up against the popular crowd. This also put a tick in my box for him and I started to root for him as a person too. What will happen though when the time arrives for the pair to go their separate ways? Will Thorne and Scarlet realize that the feelings they both developed are true and real? Find out in Book #2 of Lakeview Prep - another amazing installment in this series and I am now looking forward to reading Book #3 Date Notes when it is released.

This book was just so fun. I loved the chemistry between Scarlet and Thorne. They are the thorn to each other that they don't want but they need. There is so much sizzle and great banter. I loved the premise and it was a unique take on the typical fake-relationship trope with a celeb. I also enjoyed the throw backs from previous characters. It was awesome seeing Topher and Penelope together. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Cute

Gotta love a fake relationship turned guy falls first! Thorne and Scarlett are a great combo, there is adorable chemistry, growth, humor. All of it so good. The only thing I would've changed is the Royals. I don't care about their contribution to the story at all. 🤷‍♀️ but even with that, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

I absolutely LOVE this book. Thorne is such a sweetheart and I adore his relationship with Scarlett. Scarlett is also amazing. She won’t take crap from anyone and I love that about her. Their reason for fake dating was also an awesome one. This is a must read!!

Fake Notes, the second book in the Lakeview Prep series by Gracie Graham, is a sweet YA romance that is fun to read and a great follow-up to Hate Notes..

Scarlett Rees is counting the days until she turns eighteen, graduates and applies to Parsons, the prodigious design school in NY. In the meantime, she is content to hang out with her best friend Penelope, when she isnt working at her parents bakery, Batter and Bake. But serving the public can be difficult, especially when she saves a cranky older patron from choking and the resulting thank you is a lawsuit.

To add insult to injury, a new client is asking for an impossible order for a very famous client and they can’t accommodate on such short notice. Enter, Thorne Roberts, a teenage Hollywood heartthrob. Because the press love him and his bad boy antics, Thorne’s reputation precedes him. The latest rumor says he’s in danger of losing his hard earned coveted role in a movie that promises to take his career to the next level. Needing to impress the media, his new director and the public, Thorne needs this bakery order from the best bakery in town for the local children’s hospital where he is currently volunteering. Instead of sending his assistant to Batter and Bake, he places the order himself. When he enters the bakery he meets Scarlett and the sparks begin to fly, or should I say barbs. Scarlett treats him like any other customer, something Thorne is not accustomed to. Scarlett lets him know in no uncertain terms she’s not impressed. He will have to wait for his order, just like any other customer. Dying to win her over, Thorne challenges her to a date with the lure of a business proposition. Pretend to be my girlfriend, show the press I’ve changed and then you can break up with me. The press will cover my broken heart and the fans will love it, hopefully erasing his bad boy image. In exchange, Thorne’s high power attorneys will take care of Batter and Bakes' lawsuit. A win win from all perspectives, right? But things get complicated when a kiss between the two for the cameras changes everything. Now they are left wondering where do we go from here and what do we do with our hearts.

This YA book was so much fun to read. The characters took me back to HS, where all the drama was played out in the halls and classrooms. It was fun revisiting the characters from Hate Notes, and the introduction of new additional characters will be entertaining to read in the upcoming books. I have to admit I loved Penelope and Topher's romance in Hate Notes, but Thorne and Scarlett’s romance was even better. I rarely read ahead, but I had to in Fake Notes and I am happy to say I was not disappointed. If you are looking for a fun weekend read then Fake Notes is for you. It's a great YA romance no matter your age.

Fake Notes is the second book in the Lakeview Prep series. I would say you could read this as a standalone but the couple from the first book are in this book as side characters.
Scarlett has an interesting life and it is about to get even more entertaining. Fake Notes starts off with Scarlett saving a women's life who was choking on a cookie. Unfortunately this women was 'cranky' and did not appreciate Scarlett saving her life. Which resulted in Scarlett and her family being sued.
Thorne is a teen heartthrob who has only been in smaller roles until now. The only problem is that he has been getting into trouble which could result in him getting kicked out of this new movie.
A whirlwind of events causes Thorne to show up at the bakery owned by Scarlett's family.
I thought Thorne was a bit pushy in the beginning but the proposition he had for Scarlett made sense for both of them.
As the story went on I ended up really liking Thorne and the chemistry they had together. I wish they could have figured their feelings out sooner and we could have gotten more of them being cute together. I also was not expecting how this story would go so I was definitely surprised when things went sore again. I loved how Thorne worked to get Scarlett back though and I loved how this story ended. Again this story ended with no cliffhanger so you find out exactly what will happen next for these two.
Interested to see who the third book is about! I have a guess but we will have to wait and see.

•Enemies to lovers
•Celebrity & the “normal” girl

First of all, I love Throne. He’s the “wild bad boy” celebrity that just wants someone in his life that is real. Someone he can have a real relationship, even just as friends, that doesn’t want what his status can give them in return.
Scarlett, I felt a kinship with. She reminded me a lot of myself. Hard trusting, stick up for themselves, kind hearted, & not one to see what the other has/doesn’t have to see them as a person.
I loved the chemistry between Throne & Scarlett. It wasn’t instantaneous & I found that refreshing. A business transaction that turns the hearts of two different people. I would definitely read the rest of this series. Definitely check it out!

•clean romance with all the emotions but no details
• no mention of sex (refreshing btw)
• talk of alcohol but minimal

I picked this up having read the first in the series and desperate to see what lay in store for Thorne and Scarlett. I adored the start, loving the way the story jumped into action, and gave us a glimpse of the way Scarlett is, and also how Thorne acts. I breezed through the story in one sitting as I was desperate to know what would become of the pair of them. My heart was filled with joy as the story progressed and I loved the characters and how relatable they were. An amazing sweet romance and one that I would very much recommend!

An easygoing celeb dates normal girl high school fake-toxreal romance - nice!

I loved this easy to read fake dating romance. Scarlett saves a regular grumpy client who then sues the family and she disses a celeb order in one day. In dire need of money for lawyers, she agrees to date the celeb she dissed and the rest is history - wearing Valentino on the red carpet and falling in love inspite not because. An adorable story and loved the hidden depths of Thorne.

Recommended for lovers of highschool norm-celeb romances and coming of age stories for both MCs.

Pretty cute. Predictable but it was a sweet teen romance. He's a big-shot movie star with a bad reputation. SHe's a nobody or thinks that and the hero comes and not only chooses but also defends and sticks up for the underdog. The intimate betrayal of any contract of not falling in love is falling in love.

Fake relationship turns into something real!

Thorne and Scarlett are a great couple! Scarlett is fiery and Thorne has a soft heart.
My only complaint is the timeline of this series. The prom happens in book 1 and yet they are still in school and building to prom 2 in this story, which is annoying.

Another super cute read.
Bad boy movie star Thorne needs to change his reputation, enter Scarlet, who accidentally landed her parents a lawsuit when she tried to help a choking customer. He offers a mutually beneficial fake relationship contract. What could go wrong?

Can a fake relationship turn into a real one or will their pretending break Scarlett and Thorne forever? He is a famous but wild teen actor. She is the girl next door. They can help each other but at what price? A sweet story about real friendship, fame, and real love.

I loved Scarlett's character. She's so strong, fierce and stands up for what is right. I get her. Thorne is everything a girl could ask for. He is such a nice and sweet person. I like how his imperfections just make him more relatable. Overall a very well written book and a good read.

This was a fun little young adult fake dating a celebrity. I enjoyed this way more then I was expecting as I was unsure how I was going to like the main character, but I ended up being so happy with them together. And the fact that he fell first makes it so much better like holy moly! I loved how Thorne was all for the sticking up for the outcasts, and actually becoming good friends with one of them. I will definitely be continuing this series

Although I liked the overall story, there were times when Thorne just irritated me. I love that Scarlett was falling for him but wouldn't let herself admit it. A lot of ups and downs throughout but would definitely read it again!

I know it's YA but I really wanted to see their life later on 🥺 I hate reading books that just end with no epilogue or anything of the future. It was an amazing story though 🥰

This book was super adorable and fun to read. I loved Thorne’s and Scarlet’s story, probably even more than Penelope’s and Topher’s. It has a little bit of fake dating but also the celebrity romance trope, which is slowly growing on me. I really liked how Throne wasn’t painted to be a pretentious and snobby person because of his celebrity status. Rather, he still showed vulnerability, humility, and charm, which made you love his character even more!!

Cute read! Definitely felt like a standard YA romance, and I love the trope. There were some serious aspects thrown into the book, which are the catalyst for the FMC to enter into the fake relationship. Very easy read, finished it quickly.
