The new girl. I didn’t even see her until it was too late. She saw me, though. The worst parts of me. My fists and my rage. It’s the only face I ever show, the one way I can greet the world without getting hurt again.
I’m a fighter, and I’m scared. Too scared for a girl like her. But the moment I see her, I can’t stop all the feelings that try to churn to the surface. Whitney brings them out in me so easily. I try to stay away from her, to tamp down my emotions.
But I can’t. And when I realize she may be just as broken as me … I finally see that her broken pieces and mine will make both of us whole.

But they get off on the wrong foot and now Knox has to work to show her he is exactly what she needs. 💕These two were 2 pieces of a broken soul that once together made one beautifully whole soul.
💯I’m surprised by how much character development we get in such a short read. You really feel the connection between these two.

This was a cute bad boy and sweet timid girl high school romance featuring double virgins. Both our MCs had rough childhoods, and are rescued by the same loving family. The H is immediately taken with the h at first sight. He’s OTT jealous and possessive and protective. This story is a little sweet, a little swoony, and a little sexy. Low conflict and low angst, so not particularly memorable, but a fun fluffy quick read.
- no cheating or sharing - no OW drama - no dubcon/noncon
"Beauty and the Outcast" is the story of Whitney and Knox.
A very sweet love story between a local bad boy and the innocent best friend of his twin sister. Ofcourse, it starts by him being an utter a$s to her, but soon starts courting her and they fall in love.
To call this a Beauty and the Beast reimagining is a bit of a stretch, but this is still an enjoyable young adult romance! Because of its short length, it does feel a bit rushed at times. For example, it’s mentioned that the heroine is a singer and has a beautiful voice, but we don’t get shown that expected trope/cliche scene where the hero first sees her singing. Instead it’s “told” to us, the reader, in his inner dialogue. Nevertheless, it’s a quick and enjoyable story about two broken people finding love.
Knox had a rough upbringing and now that he is loving with the Osbourne’s, he still can’t control his anger. He doesn’t like to be touched, but one touch from Whitney changes everything. He doesn’t want to be angry anymore and wants to be better for her. But he’s a bully and she let him know that. Knox knows he has to change if he wants Whitney to trust him.
Safe read Dual virgins No ow/ow drama Epilogues 4 years and lots more after that.
Me? I'm a simple girl. I see 'Beauty and Beast' retelling and I instantly click. I'll admit that Beauty and the Outcast was an okay read. Definitely quick to get through but I wasn't in love with all of it.
In it, you will meet Knox and Whitney. He's a guy with some borderline anger issues and she's the girl with the soothing touch. Seriously, he doesn't like anyone touching him, but Whitney seems to magically change that. This was kind of an enemies to lover's romance, and I liked certain parts of it. Just not all of it.
With all the heat, chemistry, and tension one would like we would get a lot of drama to gossip about. Yeah, no. We don't get any of that because it felt like we got zero drama with everything that happened. Everything was kind of safe and a tad bit boring. I definitely needed some drama to spice things up a bit here and there.
In the end, it was easy to read, and the characters were somewhat likeable.
I enjoyed this one!! I love insta love romances that are set in high school and this one didn’t disappoint me. I loved the characters and thought they fit well together. I’m excited to see what this author writes next!
Lucy Darling reminds me why I love this genre with every book she releases.
The feels pour off the pages, that little flutter in my heart? It's her and her books. There's no unnecessary drama for the sake of it. There is never any cheating, the leads are devoted to each other.
Knox is the lead in this story, he has bad boy written all over him. He's not afraid to use his fists if it means protecting those that cant do it themselves. His past is scary, having grown up in the foster system he never had a family or anyone to love him. When he finds himself in the back of car heading to a home and a twin sister he never knew he had he refuses to let himself think this could be real.
But it is, Faith is his twin. Her mother had kept her but had given Knox up. But it wasn't long before she too gave Faith up. Faith was lucky though when Kennedy and Oz came along and adopted her. She's know a loving home and the security that comes with it.
We fast forward a few years and Knox is still an angry and quick to use his fists. He needs a focus something or someone. Enter Whitney the new girl and Faiths best friend. She like him has a horrible past. One look at her innocent face and Knox knows his purpose, its her.
The sweetness overload is off the hook. They may only be young but what Lucy manages to do is create intelligent and caring characters who are not dumbed down, who have values and aren't bedhopping. They know with one look that they have found forever.
And the heat factor? Off the HOOK.
It's a definite yes from me every time. No blurb necessary ever with this author!
I was so excited when I realized this was Knox's story. I was not expecting it so soon!!! Knox is Faith's twin brother brother. We met her in Kennedy and Dane's aka Oz book, You are mine.
Knox and his love interest Whitney have each had a horrible past. With family, love and each other they find the path they were meant to take.
I’m not usually a fan of romances set in high school (unless they’re student/ teacher) but I really enjoyed this one. I think it helped that I was already familiar with the characters from other books in the series.
I loved Knox and how possessive and jealous he was. I melted when he took off his own shirt and tugged it over Whitney to cover up her bathing suit at the party.
This book knocked me right in the feelzzz!! It was sweet and steamy and had me choking up a few times. I could feel the heroines pain of her past, the emotions practically vibrated on the page! And the hero, so hard trying to be strong and impenetrable to keep himself safe from hurt had my heart aching. These two were perfect for another and their love was pure and beautiful!
Double virgins, no cheating of any kind, no abuse or cheating of any kind, h faces danger from an enemy but isnt hurt. HEA with epilogue
Cute YA romance to followup on side characters from previous books from this author. I love when they're all interconnected like this. Looking forward to Ace and Faith's story.
Today was a little too perfect, and when you’ve lived a life like mine, you’re always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Knox was an outcast, until he was fostered by Dane and Kennedy in book-You Are Mine.
He had dark past, and he almost killed his previous foster father. He wasn’t someone easy to her along. He was lonely for a long time and didn’t give a shit about others. Until he met his Bunny-Whitney.
“Knox,” Mr. Smith calls from the front of the room. “What?”
“Are you paying attention?”
“Paying attention to something.” I hear a few people chuckle. I duck my head, trying to hide my blush.
Hahahahaha, Knox definitely was a bad bad boy.
The realization of why that darkness in Knox pulls me to him dawns on me. He could protect me. No one would ever be able to hurt me again.
Except him.
Yes, he was a bad boy, but when he firstly laid his eye on Whitney, he couldn’t resist her scent anymore.
“Kennedy came along. A woman can make you step back and see what you might be missing. She became my focus.”
“Obsession,” I correct him. He smirks, knowing I’m right. The man is crazy about his wife.
“Glad you found yours now. You need her.”
Maybe he wasn’t real Osborn, but all of men in this family had obsession DNA.(Dane Osbornwas his fostered father, highly recommended the book of Dane and Kennedy, Fawn and Roman)!!
Oz was a charming man, with amazing wisdom, what he told Knox always nailed the main point.
For so long I’ve been pissed off at the world. I want to be better for her. Maybe this world isn’t as fucked up as I’ve always thought it was. Not if I get her. That would make it worth everything.
If this was the path I had to take to lead me straight to her, then every second of it was worth it.
If anyone haven’t read the story about Oz (Dane) and Kennedy, Fawn and Roman, it must 10000 percentage of a pity.
“You consider her family?”
“I don’t think you’re going to be letting her go. I know that look in your eyes. I’ve seen it in the mirror.” He claps me on the shoulder. “Don’t fuck it up.”
Because they showed us what truth men can be when he fall in love with the woman he would burn the world to protect.
“Bunny, I'm never going to let you go. You’re mine now.” I smile, my eyes still closed. His fingers start to stroke me again. “That makes you mine too.” “I’ve been yours my whole life.” My heart flutters.
“You’ve brought me back to life. You’ve filled my darkness with light,” I tell her. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” She pulls me down for a kiss. “You keep the darkness at bay for me.”
She always will. Whitney wasn't only made for Knox, but her was made for her too. I love the Epilogue part, as much as the whole book. It was super sweet and I couldn’t wait to hit the next one.
Over fifteen years and I still can’t get enough of my bunny. She gives me life. She woke me up, pulling me out of my anger with her gentle touches and sweet smiles. Not only giving herself to me but showing me what I had all along right in front of me. A family.
I truly love this as much as the previous two books. Lucy Darling was an absolutely extraordinary author!!
“You’ll have to catch me first.” My bunny takes off through the suite. She doesn't get far from me. I’m on her in seconds, picking her up and pinning her to the bed. “You caught me.”
She wraps her body around me. “Always, Bunny. I will always catch you.” She caught me long ago.
Always, Bunny I will always catch you. Said Knox. ♥️♥️♥️
I loved this story about Knox, the son of Kennedy and Dane from 'You Are Mine', and Whitney. The characters from prior books were definitely a presence, but I didn't feel that they overwhelmed or took away from Knox and Whitney.
Knox is damaged from years in the foster system, hates to be touched and holds himself apart from everyone...until he meets Whitney. Although he initially comes off harsh towards her, Whitney is the only one that can reach behind his walls.
I loved how protective he is over Whitney and how their relationship slowly opens him up to accepting the familial ties and support that has been there for him all along. Whitney herself is the shy new girl with a not wonderful family life who is welcomed into Kennedy and Dane's home, which means that she is also living in the same house as Knox. Their interactions are sweet and steamy, with a side of illicit.
I really enjoyed this addition to the universe created in prior books (Just One Look and You Are Mine), and can't wait to read Faith and Ace's story.
I don’t know how Lucy Darling does it, but despite her books being shorter than usual, she manages to make it so. damn. hot. I legit get so hot and bothered whenever I read her sexy scenes lol. Anyway, after reading that small bit about Knox in You Are Mine, I was so very curious and excited to read about his story. And though this was a rather quick read, I still had all the feels. I rooted for Knox and Whitney from the start (even though Knox was a giant asshole from the get go). Deep down, when it comes to just a number of people (namely Whitney, his twin Faith, Faith’s boyfriend Ace, and his adoptive parents—shoutout to Dane/Oz and Kennedy), we get to see Knox’s soft and loving side, which I loved. Would recommend this for those who want a quick read, while still getting the full package. Can’t wait for Faith and Ace’s book! But, for the love of all things good, I hope they didn’t have to separate to get a story! 🙏🏼😭
Can someone please tell me who's the model from the cover? It's the second book I read because of him.
This one was cute. The last 30% had too many things going on at the same time and it was rushed (and over the top), but still nice.
very low angst and i'm thankful for that.
It also took me out of a reading slump. I tried to read all day long and nothing was working until I found this one. So yeah, it was more like a 3.5 but all give it 4 stars.
I melted. This book was that good! Lucy has done it again. She is a such unique storyteller with the ability to get us hooked from the first word and carry us trough to a well deserved HEA. Knox is a bad boy with a lot of baggage from his sad and violent past, but he gets a little better when he becomes part of the family that loves him. He then meets Whitney and realizes that he can have real happiness with her. It's a beautiful story and I totally recommend it.
I really enjoyed this one. This is the story of Knox and Whitney. Knox is the adopted son of Kennedy and Dane from You Are Mine. We met him briefly in their epilogue. He's scarred inside and out and has a lot of anger and darkness in him but Whitney is his light. They are each other's safe place. Young and true love at its finest. Each other's one and only everything, some talk about prior physical and verbal abuse, great epilogues. Really loved this one. Going on my top faves of the year.
This was good. I didn’t love it and there were some grammar concerns. Knox has some issues, and I wished the author would have delved into those a little more. He was supposed to be portrayed as a scarred hero, but after the first 25-30% of the book, he was in love and protecting Whitney. It was ok.
Oh I felt for these two. They went through so much at such a young age. Knox was a rebel with a cause, dealing with his emotions with rage. On the other side we have Whitney who has reverted to being shy to deal with her emotions. Mix them together and you have a beautiful love story!
Sweet but forgettable. Bad boy (but not a manwhore for a change) Hero, innocent heroine, gives you a bit of a stepsiblings vibes since they're living under one roof. Together with mild drama it was a pleasantly spent hour and half, but being it longer I would get bored...
