Crisis handler by day and writer by night, Jessie often finds herself wrapped up in the tales of humanity. She cultivated an appetite for a good love story from the moment she read her first Sarah Dessen book, and it led to her desire to create some stories of her own.

When she’s not writing or providing resources for students at a small SoCal college, she can be found driving into the sunset while listening to the Foo Fighters, sinking her toes in the sand, or reveling in the beauty of a good meal. She also enjoys hanging out with her better half and her favorite tiny human.

You can find her on Facebook, Instagram, her website, Goodreads and Amazon.

3.5/5 stars! Very good book, the quality of writing was phenomenal. Jessie Marie’s writing style is beautiful and eloquent and I definitely plan to look into her other books! Every Part of You is a beautiful story about life after the initial “I Do” in marriage. As a wife and a mother, I resonated with this story and how hard it is to maintain self-identity while also feeling like a good wife/mother.

I did find myself getting a little irritated with the characters, but we’re human and we have flaws and I think that’s so important to remember reading this book. The book is also pretty slow paced, but it works for this particular story. Definitely worth the read!

This novel from is unlike anything else I've read from her. This isn't your typical happy, romcom, sunshine and rainbows love story. This is real, a real couple facing real problems, heartaches, misunderstandings, fears, and realities. I love love loved this glimpse into a reality after the "I do", after the average "happily ever after", when they're living and loving and facing a realistic world. She tackles problems and issues most authors would shy away from, and she did it so very well! Not your typical read, not your typical romance, and that made me love it even more!

Aggravating

The couple this time was too aggravating to enjoy. I just could not believe that man would let his wife get away with her level of selfishness. A good portion I skimmed to get to the end.

All Of Me And You

WOW, WOW, WOW! I loved this one from start to finish. There were a few repetitive parts, and I feel like there were parts that could've made this a bit shorter/quicker to read, yet the overall story was Superb.

I knew I'd like Catalina, aka Cat, from 'Take it on Faith', the book about her best friend Alicia and her now husband/childhood best friend Andrew (whom I didn't like; the story and the characters). Cat had this wit about her and was super loyal, yet she was sweet and loving too; all the qualities of a Great friend, imo. I was a bit put off by the fact that Cat had this amazing, caring, loving, sexy (her words, not mine😉), kindhearted and gentle husband, yet she was pushing him away. As the story progressed, I understood what she needed, I just didn't like that Jeremiah, aka Jer, had to suffer in the process. I was hoping that Cat would seek a therapist earlier than she did and possibly it could've helped her marriage sooner; wishful thinking 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Now, once they found out they were having twins, I was even more intrigued, given I have twins too, and I'm so glad the author took that route. To give these obviously hurting want-to-be parents a huge light at the end of a very dark tunnel was heartwarming. Cat was so strong for everyone, that she didn't even know how to accept help from those she loved. I'm glad she opened up to Jer and that he helped her in a major way. These two were so right for each other and just had to figure out how to be even better for each other for them to continue on their lifelong journey.

I. FREAKING. LOVED. JEREMIAH! Talk about a big ole teddy bear, yet someone whose a total and complete Alpha in the bedroom; yep, yep and Heck Yeah😏. The author did a Phenomenal job with Jers' character buildup. I also loved that even with his personality trait of HSP, that he was still really good at his job, a caring and loving husband, a great brother and son and a great friend. Many times I've read about sensitive Black male characters and the author doesn't showcase the other great qualities of that character; not Jessie Marie- she knocked it out the park👍🏾. Of all the Wonderful Black male characters I've read about I think Jer is my favorite.

I was a bit upset, although, with how he only heard part of what Cat said at the baby shower and immediately thought the worst, yet I can see how after all they'd been through, being separated, and how hard he was trying, that he was basically just over it. He wanted his wife, his future kids, his family to be whole and Cat was fighting him at every turn. I am glad that they both saw their wrongs before his accident, and wanted to make things right. Although he was considered "sensitive", I only saw strength and courage from Jer. I love that Cat, even with all that she had going on, never saw Jer as less of a man and voiced that to him; encouraging him to be himself and that nothing was wrong with him.

Lastly, the love and attraction between these two was so hot and great to read. After knowing each other for 20+ years, the fire and desire for one another still burned full flame. I Loved it.

This was such a great read. I'm hoping the next book is just as great, if not better.

I ended up giving this book 2.5 ⭐️. I usually enjoy the second chance romance trope but something about this book just didn’t quite connect for me. The FMC wasn’t a likable character for me. She did way too much back and forth. She couldn’t make up her mind whether she wanted space or she wanted to be in a relationship with her husband.

Cat asked Jeremiah for a separation so she could find herself and whatnot but once she found out she was pregnant they agreed he would move back in (ok…I can understand that)…but she definitely wanted to be separated. She wanted to be separated but she still wanted to know where he was going and who he was hanging out with and wanted to have sex…but she wanted to be separated. The entire book was mostly her (and Jeremiah) talking about how overly sensitive and emotionally draining he was…over…and over…and over…

He promised that he would become less emotionally dependent on her and would try to do social things separate from her. He stepped up for her in a time of emotional crisis and calmed her down and her first thought was basically “What if he cant do that all the time?” He started to socialize without her and of course she wanted to know what he was doing. Again, all while actively trying to be sexually active with him but still maintain that she needed to be separated in order to maintain her own identity and not have to take on his emotional burdens. Maybe I missed something but as a couple that had been together for so long and were one another firsts…would sexual intimacy not bring in emotions?

There is a scene where he finally gives in and agrees to have sex with her. He specifically tells her if they do that there is no going back, she should learn to depend on him, and that she has to be all in because he wants all of her and she agrees (am I missing something…because that sounds like a conversation of them getting back together?). But after that scene Cat has a conversation with another character that she doesn’t know where they stand after the night before…WHAT!?

Cat was an absolutely selfish character and Jeremiah seemed like such a pushover. For basically the whole book she has been firm on continuing this separation and that she doesn’t know whether or not she wants a divorce but then Jeremiah asks for a divorce and she’s completely shocked…again…WHAT!?

There were moments for me that the book would seem to be going in an interesting direction but then would resort to the same problems with Cat. I couldn’t relate to the MCs and the side characters weren’t particularly interesting enough for me to differentiate between them. This particular book just wasnt for me.

Jeremiah and Catalina

I thought the HSP was very interesting. Overall I liked the story. I really struggled with liking Cat's character. The issues she was facing were not uncommon. Why didn't she just go to therapy? She had no problem suggesting therapy to Jeremiah for his HSP and her doctor recommended it for her but she didn't listen. Why weren't they in couples therapy? That aspect annoyed me about her character because at no point did she try to get help and really work through her problems. It seems like she thought the answers would come simply because she had some alone time. She wasn't wrong for her feelings but wrong in how she dealt with them. I still think the book dragged a little. Again, love a long book but it has to make sense.

Realistic characters

What I like about this author is that her characters are so realistic that it’s like looking in a mirror or having a friend who shares a similar dilemma. I found Catalina to be aggravating at times but I also understood where she was coming from. Jeremiah is honestly one of my favorite book husbands.

A story that kept me hooked and feeling different emotions and thoughts chapter after chapter, i didn't sympathize much with heroine at the beginning but at the end she grew on me. I liked that the hero was a good man and didn't do anything awful, this is VERY VERY rare in this kind of books/life situations.

Could of been better

The FMC was extremely selfish and childish in my opinion…..also I wish the MMC had gotten a backbone way earlier in the book and left her. A bit of groveling from her side would of made the story a little better

Do I need to rethink my stance? Do marriage on the rocks books deserve respect?? I loved these characters and their dynamic. So glad I was introduced to them in book one so I had to see how their story turned out.

So good!

Ugh this one was freaking fantastic. Absolutely LOVED this and read it fairly quickly. This one was definitely more emotional than the first but it was amazingly done.

Decent read

I like the storyline, but it dragged on too long. I think the reconciliation should have happened by chapter 17.
