3 1/2 Ivy-Mine Stars!

This was a very nice tide you over novella until the next full length book comes out. Just a taste of the delicious Dragonkind males. This is a whole new pack of Dragonkind males from the wilds of Scotland. I do love that Scottish baroque, so sexy; and Tydrin is no exception. Ivy is a very smart computer hacker that sometimes let her words escape her mouth before her brain can stop her. It's cute and obviously part of being an HE female. I like them both and enjoyed their story. To be so short, this story really sucks you in. My only complaint is there wasn't much of a (shown/written in the book) solution to Ivy's problem. But it is inferred, so I guess that was enough.

I'm hoping this Clan is related to Forge somehow and we will be able to tie this pack and Bastian's pack together. I'd be especially happy if Forge got a book next. This book can be read as a stand alone because as I said, it has all new characters and none of the conflict that has been building from the original stories in the series.

So anyway, if you are a fan of the Dragonfury series, I recommend this. It's good! Happy reading!

Are you like me and have been really missing Coreene Callahan's Dragons? If you haven't read it, her DragonFury Series is rolling along full of myth and mystery and of course those sexy dragons.

Now as with so many Novellas, Fury of A Highland Dragon steps away from the main arc. Don't expect to be seeing Bastion or Stryker, Wick, Venom or the gang.. Shoot don't even expect to see Forge. Nope this is an entirely different clan we are meeting. A Clan I am hoping we will see more of AND that comes in on Bastion's side.. So it wasn't part of the Arc but it was a fun novella.

Ivy Macpherson is one of the best hackers in the world. Working for a secured company she is set up by her boss and is now wanted for some serious hacking. Her boss of course is free and clear. On the run for her life she ends up in a Scottish cemetery where she meets an amazing, er man?? And in a moment she must decide, trust the dragon guy? Or go to jail?? Hmmmm. tough choice. Fortunately for Ivy, she's got a brain and chooses the oh so sexy dragon.

Tydrin has a bit of his past he wants to forget but forces himself to remember. Actually he kind of dwells on it making him a bit of a whiny dragon. BUT he's a decent and loyal one. When he comes upon a gorgeous woman being attacked in a cemetery, Tydrin can't help but step in. And realizing his attachment is more than physical. There is just something about the woman that calls to him.

A shared history? The perfect HE woman for him? Or just a crazy chick on the run? Either way, Tydrin and Ivy have a connection and Coreene plays it beautifully.

Yes, I missed the rest of the gang. No, I didn't want to read about some strange dragons I had never met.. BUT.. Coreene is telling this story and I am sure there is a reason why we are meeting them now. I just want to know what her reason is.. Yes, I admit it, I am a demanding wench..

All in all, a wonderful novella designed to capture the attention of those who haven't yet read the series and to throw the rest of us a teeny bone while we wait for more.

I am a big fan of this series by Coreene Callahan. All those Dragonkind men are smoking hot! This is a side story in the series. It follows Ivy Macpherson and her journey to discovering her true mate and the history of Dragonkind.

The story was great just standing on his own. I think if you have not read the rest of the series, though, you will be a bit lost. Many things happen quickly and with seemingly no question. If you have the back story on the Dragon shifters and how they feed off the Meridian, you will enjoy this story more. Of course, it helps that Tydrin is a super hot fire dragon. Ivy can't help but fall for him!

I found myself hoping to get a tie in with the Dragons in the US. I know Forge is from the Scotland but there was no mention of knowing the other group. I am hoping Ivy will somehow be helpful in the fight that is to come given her cyber hacking skills. Looking forward to reading the continuing story in this series. And, if you haven't tried out a Dragon shifter----why?

I really wanted to rate this one higher as I'm a big fan of the previous books (and Dragons) in this series BUT I'm really not a fan of novella/short stories. They always leave me wanting more and with unanswered questions! AHHHH. It felt rushed, the characters and storyline were all underdeveloped. I also felt what I paid for this novella was too much BUT I couldn't resist the Dragons :-)
I think the other thing that let this one down for me was the amount of internal dialogue of the two main characters. If your going to fall in love within 50 pages, then I guess I feel they need to talk to each other more.
I liked meeting (though briefly) the bunch of new Dragon men and I hope we hear from them in future books.
Will definitely continue with the next book in the series :-)

Super excited for a new Dragonfury story. I love this world. I mean come on Dragons!!!! While I love this world and am already looking forward to the next story in this series. Fury of a Highland Dragon was a good story and we got a whole new set of Scottish Dragons. I really liked Tydrin, I really liked Ivy this story was average to me.
Don’t get me wrong. Tydrin and Ivy have a great love story. Everything moved really fast (which is fine and happens in novellas) but there was a big part of the story that left questions unanswered. I hope that this means we will get to revisit Tydrin & Ivy again soon in the future.

This was a pretty good story. I liked Ivy and Tydrin enjoyed their story.

Ivy is a "white hat" hacker (one that works for the good guys) and as such, is a bit of a geek and not necessarily good with people. Ivy's parent died when she was young and her aunt raised her. Ivy was working for the US Government until she got taken in for hacking stuff she didn't hack and found out she was framed for a crime she didn't commit.

Tydrin is a dragon shifter that lives in the mountains of Scotland with his clan. Tydrin made a mistake 20 years ago and has been torturing himself over it all this time.

Tydrin is going to perform a yearly task when he happens across Ivy, just as she's getting arrested by people that are convinced she's a bad guy. Tydrin saves her and offers her help to clear her name but there are some complications along the way that move things along quicker than might normally have been the case. I don't want to get spoilery so lets just say that things do work out for Ivy and Tydrin and the angsty issue that could come between them gets cleared up in a surprising way. In the end, Tydrin and Ivy are together and heading for a HEA.

This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked Ivy and thought she was a likable and believable character. Tydrin was a sweet heart and I'm glad he got a happy ending with Ivy. My only real complaint is that I wish the mystical stuff had been explained a bit better...we kind of get thrown in with little explanation, although things do get cleared up a bit further in the book. Overall, this was a pretty enjoyable story and I liked the characters so I'd recommend it (especially if you can get it for free, it's good but I'm not sure if I'd have paid full price for it considering the length). :)

This is a wonderful short story based in the Dragonfury universe. I really enjoyed it.

Ivy Macpherson is a wonderful character, I liked her. She is an ethical hacker, working with the FBI. However, she's been set up by her boss and is now on the run for something she didn't do. When she meets Tydrin in a Scottish cemetery, she's not sure she can trust him.

Tydrin is also a wonderful character. Part of the Scottish dragonkind pack and brother to Cyprus, the pack leader, he is full of remorse for an accident that happened in the past. He stumbles across Ivy in a cemetery and sparks fly.

I love the Dragonfury series, so was looking forward to reading this novella. The story takes the reader into the Scottish Highlands and introduces us to a Scottish pack. I am not sure if these are the same pack that Forge belonged to or not before he became a member of the Dragonfury one.

Although the story was full of action of the romantic kind, there wasn't much in the way of fighting. I missed those aerial maneuvers that the author is known for. I also found myself slightly disappointed that it wasn't a little longer in length. This seems to be a build up for the larger story arc that flows within the Dragonfury series, though I can't be sure, as there is no mention of the Seattle pack.

Unfortunately, I felt the story had more than a few loose ends too. Ivy's flight due to her ex-boss setting her up to take the fall for his espionage is left dangling in mid-air, so it makes me curious to know how this fits in with the Dragonfury series. Not only that, this story seemed a little rushed compared to the main series novels. Nevertheless, it has a sexy dragon shifter and a feisty female protagonist, which is what you want with a erotic paranormal romance. Though the other characters in the pack do not seem to be as well developed than one would like, I hope that these Scottish dragons will become less mysterious and we will get to know them better as the story arc carries on, or if they get their own series. I am now eagerly waiting on the next book in the Dragonfury series to see how it all ties together (including the other novella the author wrote about Ivar and his encounter with a HE female in Fury of Fate).

Coreene Callahan has written another fantastic paranormal romance. She is fast becoming one of my favourite authors to read. Her books are fast paced, exciting and extremely addictive! I love her writing style and the flow is absolutely wonderful!

Due to the use of bad language and the explicit sexual scenes, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances or books with sexy dragon shifters! - Lynn Worton

Fury of a Highland Dragon by Coreene Callahan

A Dragon finds his mate and he is lost to her allure. He will do anything to have and protect her.

A novella of a series, but can stand alone as introduction to the clan and dragon world. But know not all encompassing and all questions resolved. Definitely part of a whole world.
A quick romance, falling in love and commitment. Romance done right.

Rich descriptive prose.
Excerpt:
He drew a deep breath hoping more oxygen would fuel his failing intellect. Frigid air rushed into his lungs. His brain reengaged, force feeding him a shovelful of common sense. A plan. He needed one...right now. Before he did something stupid like scare the everliving shite out of the female. Not the best way if he wanted to get close. And oh how he yearned to, 'cause...aye. Now that he'd seen her he wanted to know how she would taste. How she would fit in his arms, how it would feel to be fed by such powerful energy. The thought crying to him tighter. Excitement skittered down his spine. Tydrin tightened the leash on his control. He didn't want to frighten her. The moment he did, she'd run scared, and he'd lose his chance.
But even as he cemented his plan of attack, temptation urged him to drop his invisibility spell, step up behind her, and grab hold. Take her home. Love her well."

Oh how I adore the Dragonfury world! Those alpha males, the energy exchange, the sex! I do believe I see a spinoff from the original series! The novella was wonderful, tormented hero and woman on the run, the FBI and dragon kind. My only complaint was that it was too short. Once I enter Colleen's dragon world I find it hard to leave! A recommended read from me!

Quickie Review-May Contain Spoilers So Fair Warning Before Reading This Review

So Fury of a Highland Dragon is the first in the Dragonfury Scotland series. It's been quite a while since I have read this author so it was nice returning to her work. These books are pretty short but it was pretty fun and a great palette cleanser to read. I really loved the way that this one built throughout with the romance. There is some insta love but I was fine with it. I enjoyed how well these two just click and work together so well. There is low relationship angst and even when you think that there will be, the heroine gives us some nice surprises, and love how she turns it out to the hero in such a delightful way. And I had so much fun with this group of dragon shifters, loved the Scottish twist to them. This romance was endearing and easygoing and fit my mood just right. I can't wait to dig further into this series.

A fun read overall, but I wish there had been more story for that amount of text or, conversely, that the story had been told in an even shorter format.
Each action and event was described in sooo many details... It might have worked in a very fat novel, but here, it just made me doubly frustrated. The few action scenes also confused me, because the writing style made me feel as if everything was happening in slo-mo, which didn't always make sense.

I loved this novella. Ms Callahan writes engaging dragon stories with wonderful strong female characters. Although this is part of the Dragonfury series, Ivy and Tydrin's romance has none of the characters from the other stories and seems to be completely separate. Ivy is in trouble and at her parent's grave site when Tydrin shows up to protect her from an attack. She learns quickly about dragons and their romance proceeds. As usual, a great dragon story.

Since Tydrin's clan is the Scottish clan and they mention a missing brother, I hope this somehow refers back to Forge, the Scottish dragon who is now part of the Seattle pack. Time and future stories will tell.

ADORED!

Absolutely love this book. I was kind of sad but it was so short but it was really awesome! I loved Tydrin the start. Ivy was a little Spitfire and I adore that as well. Basically a perfect heroine when I read a book. It's been a while since there's been a new Dragon book so this definitely gave a taste but it left me wanting more. Little clues were dropped that I snatched up and I can't wait to see more of the Scottish pack and of course Forge. Preeeeety sure he's the missing dragon. Loved this Little read. It just has to tide me over for the next book!

So much internal dialogue and blah blah blah, instalove, tell instead of show. The sad part is both characters were interesting but totally wasted...I wanted to know more about each of them without reading page after page of "their thoughts". Some authors give good novella. This one does not.

I feel like I have been searching and waiting forever for the next Dragonfury book by Coreene Callahan. I adored the Seattle Dragonfury team and their mates. We never did get to finish the stories, I hope this new Dragonfury team will merge or overlap with the original one. I loved the aerial fights and the extreme protectiveness of the Seattle team. Now, we have a new team on the East Coast of the USA. We never did finish with the scary European dragons and their backstabbing and cruel ways.

This story starts out with Whiz Hacker, Ivy Macpherson in a cemetery late at night. She is accosted by the FBI and another agency. Her handler in the FBI was using her and then turned on her. They have guns trained on her, she takes a step back and into the invisible arms of Tydrin, a shape shifting dragon. He gets her assent for his protection and then envelops her in his invisibility and takes off.
He discovers that not only is she super smart and talented, but a high energy female capable of fully feeding his energy needs. ( You may need to read at least the first book of the previous series to fully understand this ). He takes her back to his den and his 'brothers'. He has a terrible secret that has kept him feeling guilty for about 20 years.

I was so excited to see a new Dragonfury book! I hope that there will be many more, SOON PLEASE!

Good start for the beginning of the Dragonfury Scotland series. We don’t have enough information, but I hope Tydrin, Cyprus, and Vyroth are Forge cousins 😂 that will explain their murderous auras.

I enjoyed Ivy, she’s a fierce good looking lady, a professional hacker who decided to take refuge in her birth country Scotland fleeing the FBI. Despite their meeting in a cemetery, the story is well-rounded as it’s quite short. The Scotland clan looks crazy and I love it, Tydrin is haunted by his past actions and sees Ivy as his redemption.

I’m intrigued by the blind Dragonfury, the concept is different, and look forward to reading Wallaig's story (Fury of Denial).

A quote that I loved “She needed to believe someone wanted her. Respected her. Desired her so much he would drop everything to be with her. A foolish notion. She knew it. Accepted it. Twenty-first century women didn’t welcome saviors”

Too predictable

I have been reading the Dragonfury series since the very beginning. Some super hot dragons. I was looking forward to dragons with a Scottish accent. I wasn't disappointed with that. Hot dragon shifter with sexy accent, oh yeah. However, the story was a bit of a let down. Hot dragon shifter tormented by his past. Independent female out of luck. Instant lust. They both know they should "tell all" but are too busy getting it on. Conflict. Showdown. HEA. Seems only the sub plots change. Or, in this case, the pack. I found it difficult to get into this one. Too predictable. It finally got interesting about two-thirds in. I am glad I read it though, and I will continue to read this author.
