Cela n'est pas tout, puisque Nikki Asada illustre également Kanagatari, un essay-manga scénarisé par la très célèbre Kana Hanazawa (doubleuse, chanteuseet actrice). Woah.... I did NOT expect this volume to be THIS GOOD. This volume really explained a lot of things one might wonder from the past volumes and it was really good. As what I've said before, this series has a lot of potential and I'm only hoping for more good things to come from here.

As nice as this volume was, I feel like I haven't connected with these characters. And I'm still a little iffy about the main couple/ love interests, but I do like Shiro and Anri. I'll definitely keep reading, but this series is just okay to me so far.

The Literature Club needs five members and a teacher if they’re going to get official recognition. Shiro’s kind nature and Takasago’s talent for cunning get the job done, but there’s still a stolen kiss to address, not to mention that the book that’s resonated so hard with Shiro all these years might just resonate that much because it’s actually based on her…
I love this series. Love, love, love it. Even though I have to use the r-word this time out, it’s still one of what I would term ‘definitive shojo’ and any book where I can be reading a page of zero import and just smiling to myself because it’s so damn charming has to be a winner.
Part of this is because our leads are amazing. A. Mazing. They’re no longer a couple, but Takasago and Shiro get along unbelievably well and I love how deadly honest he is, but absolutely respectful of her feelings he can be at the same time. He even apologizes for kissing her unawares and if that didn’t get this book five stars right there, it would have been close. Now if only Shiro believed his intent…
The donut shop bit seems like it’s going to be the most predictable thing ever, but there’s a wonderful swerve where Takasago is not only more thoughtful than that, he’s much smarter than that as well. I loved the way this played out - Takasago’s affection for Shiro is more genuine than the vast majority of romance books I’ve read.
For all the drama around these two, even the stuff instigated by Shiro’s lack of confidence, they never feel like anything other than good friends who like one another at the end of it all. They’ve got their hang ups, but not so much with one another. As long as a relationship isn’t in the equation.
The whole situation with Yachiyo, the class rep who happens to have written that book Shiro loves, does head to rival town finally. After looking like things were going to dodge that particular bullet, I wasn’t best pleased to see this predictable turn.
However, if you’re going to have a rival, admittedly this is the way to do it. There is a fairly lovely flashback showing that Yachiyo has good reason to see how amazing Shiro is, while also revealing that she wasn’t the only person who was trapped, she just had somebody to point it out. There’s also some fascinating work going on in the background with the one mean girl that I love seeing in every volume.
I’m still interested to see how it resolves in the wake of the climax of this volume. I mean, look, Takasago didn’t get his face plastered on the front of the first volume for no reason and this is one case where the inevitability is one I’m looking forward to.
Really, it’s Yachiyo’s conduct that I’m most interested in. I think convention suggests that we’ll see rivalry here, but it’s not like he isn’t completely cognizant of what Takasago and Shiro mean to each other. Despite how things take a wild turn heading into that climax.
5 stars. Four stars in reality, but this book’s on a short list (I think the only other title on it at this time is Failed Princesses) of series where I start at 5 and work backwards. Charm counts for a lot and even if I don’t think we needed a rival, I will allow it this one time because it at least acquits itself well here.

the best volume so far. this volume made me root for the 2nd ml lol. i like how the ML listens to Shiro and how consent is important to him. he is happy to be friends with shiro if that's what she wants

Ok I took a few days break to read this and I can’t really Remember what happened through out the other chapters but i just finished this volume and the last chapter And I’m pretty mad.

October 25, 2021surprisingly not having the case of second lead syndrome in this one. this reaffirmed that i love the exuberant idiot + gentle/calm cinnamon roll dynamic. living for takasago’s tamaki suoh energy.
