The Judas Chronicles #7

Immortal Victory

Rate this book
William Barrow (aka Judas Iscariot) is faced with one of the most important decisions of his two thousand year stay on Earth.

Should he leave well enough alone and seek a quiet retirement, having retrieved the first twenty-eight of the original thirty coins of silver paid to him for betraying Jesus Christ? Or should he press on to recover the last two shekels, and find out if it is enough to redeem his soul before Almighty God?

The temptation to delay the inevitable is quite alluring-especially since it comes with the promise of a 'new' life with Beatrice-one that includes Roderick, Amy, Cedric, and Jeremy as they build a meaningful existence after the tragedy in New Orleans sixteen months earlier. The potential of decades-or even centuries-of unfettered happiness is quite real, given the perpetual youth they all enjoy. But after Viktor Kaslow returns to William's world, the permanence of such a blissful existence becomes precarious at best.

Kaslow, now the ruler of an ancient demonic realm, relies on the ultimate wickedness to force William back into the coin collecting game. Tragedy again serves as a catalyst that fuels a grueling race across four continents to track down the 'capstone' of the collection: The Damascus Coin. To reach this ultimate prize, William and his companions must survive a host of new deadly obstacles.

A society of immortals watch with keen interest from the sidelines, as the ruthless Russian and forlorn Disciple of Christ square off for the last time. Will the joy of salvation or eternal damnation await William, long hated as Judas? It all depends on what transpires in Immortal Victory.

Heart pounding

The adventures of Judas have so many twists and turns. Life and death, good versus evil all brought together in one amazing story. A must read series!

Fantastic story, as all of them have been. Really sad about the events that took place. Judas's whole life has been full of sadness, but lets face it, he brought it on himself. Don't really think I would have wanted to live in that time. So many superstitions that people honestly believed. Which lead to chaos as far as I'm concerned. I'm really sad that the stories are over. Could have been a lot more of them, but understand the authors need to finish it. I will definitely read them again at another time, because I know I missed a lot of understanding of them. You always catch something you missed the first time! Probably due to how fast you read them to get to the end.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I love the author’s approach to what happened to Judas Iscariot after Jesus’s crucification. I appreciate the redemptive qualities of Judas that grew over time. The ending in this boom was perfect! I can’t wait to read the next books that take place before book 1.

My Review:
I don't need to tell you what the book is about , you can see the synopsis above. What I AM going to tell you is my feelings reading this LAST installment in the present day Judas Chronicles. You don't know what's coming , every page you turn you think , "oh no whats going to happen?" If this were a screen adaptation I PROMISE there are times when you would jump out of your seats! I cried at the departure of a few characters , and I cheered as our heroes fought the evil, Immortal Victor Kaslow. My heart broke as Judas searches for the final coin, will he die , or will he stay here to finish out his time on earth with his Immortal Friends.. This book is about endings and new beginnings and the Ultimate Forgiveness.. There is one scene towards the end of the book where you just FEEL you are there ...watching on, as the most critical , the most heart felt , the most amazing scene plays out.. YOU ARE THERE with all of them.. a spectator in a miraculous ending brought together with all the chronicles leading up to this one moment! What Does Judas Choose? Read and find out how "The Betrayer's" story becomes complete. I give this book ALL of Judas' silver coins ..It is Finished ... SO well done Mr. James .. This one will stay with me forever!!

Wow!

So I guess this was supposed to be the last book in the series but apparently they are more. Go figure. William and company are off again on their search and major bad things happen. I admit to being surprised but see that it was necessary even if painful. Without giving too much detail away, good ultimately trumps evil - but the sacrifice is a tough one.

Just finished reading "Immortal Victory", Book Seven of The Judas Chronicles by Aiden James. This was a wonderful series of books, from book one through book seven I was kept entertained. I look forward to reading much more of Aiden's books.

This is the end.. Rarely does an author bring a series to a conclusion. I applaud Aiden James! He ties up the last book of the series so succinctly and well! The reader is left feeling such great hope. Judas, the man so reviled and hated for centuries finds peace. It gives everyone who reads the series a sense of balance in the Universe! No matter what you've done.. no matter what path you've taken.. no matter what your life's purpose has been.. there is always hope and redemption.

Rather than recap the novel and give out spoilers.. I will say this is a series that needs to be read from book one to it's epic conclusion. The ride has highs.. the ride has lows. Each reader will see various personality quirks within themselves. A fascinating well written series of a man who is just that.. a man with flaws. A man who betrayed a friendship and paid the price. A price that spanned over two eons of watching loved ones come into his life.. and then.. taken away simply because they were not immortal.

I've truly enjoyed this series. If you've not read it.. I recommend starting with book one.. and then.. after you find out how much you are enjoying.. just get the remaining books.. and read!! You will NOT be disappointed!

Will William aka Judas delay the inevitable by putting off trying to find his last two coins? Or will the evil Russian Victor Kaslow push William into finding them? Aiden James has brought the Judas Chronicles to an end in a way that made me cry at times and also cheer at other times. Yes we did loose some very good people again but also met some new ones who came in to help. As always there is lots of action and the enevitable twists and turns that keep you wanting to read more.

Aiden James did not disappoint in this the last book in the tale of Judas. If you have not read any of the series I suggest that you start with book one the Plague of Coins and read them all in order you will not be sorry that you did.

Very well done Aiden I am sorry to see the end as I enjoyed following Judas in his adventures. I do hope you will do a series on Roderick Coolie, now that would be a most interesting story I am sure.

The was a great ending to a series that told of the walk of Judas and his walk through the world and his coping and how he began his search for the 30 blood coins. This was not just his physical walk but his spiritual one and what he gained through it. Each book build upon the last so it is necessary to read them in sequence.

Some as christians may have issues with the series but this is a work of fiction and one that could be possible but again it is fiction and one I have found to be enjoyable an d even touch my spirit. To be reminded of the gift we were given and our daily walk.

So over all, it is a series that any can enjoy!!

*** Copy of Amazon review.

As the final book in the series, it did not disappoint me.

The travels of Judas, aka William, takes him on the quest for his final coin to redeem himself for the wrong he did to jesus.

Sadly, tragedy strikes, friends and lovers are lost. The quest goes on but Judas is not the same. He is deeply saddened and troubled and his friends suffer his loneliness.

I wish I could tell you but I don't want to spoil it for you!

Read and enjoy.

A fascinating finale to a brilliantly written series.

From beginning to end, the Judas Chronicles is a smoothly written and very exciting series. James's storytelling skills are coupled with his extraordinary descriptive talents to keep the reader mesmerized within the story. This is just simply a great read throughout.

Gut wrenching and thought provoking

As the final book in the series, I will say loose ends were tied up. As always, I wanted more of the story than as it was written. Maiden James is a wonderful writer and I hope he gives us more of Roderick's story.
